Overpriced and underwhelming. £12 for a side salad of what looked like Lidl lettuce, a couple of soggy cherry tomatoes and a sliver of red onion - if you’re going to charge high then everything else about the restaurant should be to a high standard, and this was very poor. Much nicer places to go in Windsor so I guess it’s just a tourist trap for passing trade.

Took my wife to the after a lot of persuasion, the last time we went to an Ivy it was not good. Fortunately this visit restored some faith in the brand, we both had an enjoyable night. Our maitre de was a knowledgeable charming young lady named Martha, who was able to deal with my wife’s dietary requirements (coeliac).Food was usually Ivy fair all prepared beautifully, restaurants had the usual lively vibe but all in all well worth a visit. Ask for Martha and you won’t go wrong

The food was of a good standard and staff were great but the cost was very marked up for what you received. Food was a high quality gastro pub experience but was charged like a low end Michelin star venue. It feels like the name is the main selling point here. Shame as I wanted to enjoy it.

We loved The Ivy so much- we ate here twice in one day! We started with breakfast but it was so good that we didn't bother looking elsewhere for dinner. And to top it off, so convenient to the tube. Total disappointment, wasted time and money for the food and service that is below mediocrity. On top of everything we were seated /even though booked in advance / at some filthy area at the entrance. Having visited this place in London on numerous occasions I really hoped for a nice meal in stylish, pleasant environment. Never before had I been so ashamed in front of my guests who also shrugged their shoulders in disbelief that this was even possible at this place. This location is a disgrace for the company with such attitude to maintaining standards. Never again.

The Ivy Windsor, officially The Ivy Royal Windsor Brasserie, brings the unmistakable style of The Ivy brand to the historic heart of Windsor. Situated just a short stroll from the castle gates, its location could hardly be more fitting—chic yet steeped in local character. The interior is immediately impressive: a signature blend of Art Deco glamour, floral motifs, and curated artwork that gives a nod to both Windsor’s royal heritage and The Ivy’s timeless charm. It manages to feel indulgent without tipping into ostentation—a rare balance. Service is generally warm, efficient, and attentive without being overbearing. The staff are well-drilled and courteous, even during busy weekend sittings. The menu offers a familiar Ivy experience: British brasserie staples with a cosmopolitan twist. Starters such as the truffle arancini or crispy duck salad are reliably well-executed, while mains range from comfort classics like shepherd’s pie to more refined dishes such as grilled sea bass or miso-glazed cod. The vegetarian and vegan options are thoughtfully integrated rather than feeling like an afterthought. The cocktail list is confident and clever, with seasonal specials worth trying. Prices reflect the brand, the location, and the decor—on the higher end, but justifiable for a special lunch, pre-theatre dinner, or celebratory occasion. The people-watching is an added bonus, with a clientele ranging from well-heeled locals to castle tourists and the odd familiar face from the county set. An elegant, well-managed dining spot in the heart of royal Windsor. Dependable for quality and atmosphere, ideal for entertaining guests or marking an occasion—though not quite a place of culinary revelation.

I don’t write a lot of reviews but I think the Ivy genuinely needs to lift its game. Was looking forward to our Sunday roasts today after taking in the castle for a day out celebrating my husband’s birthday with our kids. Three of us ordered chicken roast and my son had a steak. Steak was good. Our roast were all very dry.. The gravy couldn’t even help. My concern is that roasts finished at 4pm and we ordered at 3;45 Felt like it’s what was left.already cooked ages ago. So gross and the Ivy should do a lot better. Very disappointed. The service was very poor which added to it all.

Went here for celebratory breakfast. The location is amazing and the decor is fantastic. The food was beautifully cooked and delicious. The only drawback I would say was that our hot food was brought out at the same time as the warm pastries. So one had to go cold, and truly there was not enough room on the table for all the plates etc. it felt a little like we were being rushed. Having said that we were presented with a delightful anniversary pastry to share to help us celebrate.

Big fan of The Ivy in general. This time around I went in for the coffee with pot of cream which I've loved since Scotland... (don't ask I can't get over it). I was hosted by the Bar manager and another lovely lady who was on her bar training day. Had a wonderful time with them and then the rest of the guys at the bar also got comfortable and friendly. Wonderful service, warmth and fun altogether! I ended up ordering the whiskey smoked salmon with rye bread and a side of chips. Really delicious, light but filling dinner. Will for sure return, the ambience was lively. Additionally, I had spent the whole day walking, looked like death and was definitely not dressed for the place, yet they were all so engaging and welcoming, I loved it! ❤️ Sorry to take the sun away as of tomorrow team! Cheers from Costa Rica!

Recently had dinner at the Ivy Windsor. The décor / atmosphere is excellent, and all the staff are very friendly and generally pretty attentive. Being the Ivy, you expect to pay a little more than other restaurants, but also expect quality. Our starters of Duck Salad and Squid were fine- nothing wrong, but not enough to blow you away for the price. However, we both had a Ribeye Steak for main. Bearing in mind this doesn't come with anything - its £39.00 JUST for the steak. So naturally, you would expect it to be cooked perfectly. We both ordered it medium rare which was received in the middle of the steak, but on the outside we had a mix of well done, and not cooked at all! For the price, it has to be spot on, no exceptions. Unfortunately, we would not return based on our experience. Lovely staff, but jack of all trades, master of none springs to mind.

This definitely isn't the best Ivy I've been to. The food was great and they did fit us in when we arrived 25 mins early due to a change in our plans. Everything was nice enough but the service once we ordered suggested they were busier than expected/fewer staff than needed. Our plates were not collected after the meal and were only removed when we caught someone to ask for the bill. My son decided to hop up to wait by the door and the waiter pushed past to reach the plate across the table. Such a shame as we love The Ivys we have been to in London. Maybe this service was unusual but I wouldn't return to this one unfortunately.

I popped in for a quick meal on my own whilst working in Windsor. It was getting late, but the waiting team were friendly and got me seated, no problem. I ordered the scallops and rib eye steak. The starter was nice, but a little too acidic and for too much pea puree to everything else ratio. The rib eye on the bone, sounded great. Dry aged, himalayan salt etc.... What a disappointment, it was rare and not medium as requested, full of sinew and very tough. There was no seasoning and I have had superb dry aged steaks in other restaurants to compare, but this was just awful. The worse part was the price. 39 quid and didn't include anything else. Add on 8 quid asparagus, couple of drinks and service charge and it's 92 quid for one person dining. I gave an extra star for above average service, but I won't dine here again and will not recommend to colleagues when back in the area.

I highly recommend The Ivy in Windsor! The experience here was truly wonderful. From the lovely lady at the front who welcomed us, who was so warm and welcoming. To the amazing Sophia who took our orders. I am an indecisive and rather picky eater, and Sophia not only recommended me a dish but tailored the dish to my dietary requirements - and the meal did not disappoint! It was delicious. Also including the cocktails she recommended to - the Westend. Sophia has phenomenal hospitality skills, and she really made us feel so welcomed and truly made our evening with her level of service. She’s a bubbly character and her attention to detail is great! Also thanking the lovely gentleman who served us the dinner, who ensured we had everything and was happy with the meal. Well, The Ivy definitely do the best Espresso Martini's. I popped in for one, went to the bar myself to order (no waiter service needed) and bought my drink, £15! On sitting down I thought it definitely didn't say that price in the drink's menu so queried it..... to be told a £1.69 service charge was included! I said there was no service as I got the drink myself, but it's something added on apparently whether food or just drinks from the bar! SO, be very careful when having just something to drink! I can understand this being added if you're eating, but think it's absolutely wrong to add on for a driwhere no service was included!

The service was a big let down during our visit. I ordered sencha tea and received a gun powder tea instead which has a very distinct taste I do not like. I pointed it out to the waiter who apologised and took the tea away but then brought it back telling me my tea is in fact sencha and that gun powder is a brand of this tea, while it's very clear that it's Ivy's own brand on the label. I don't think any of the staff members knew the difference so I didn't want to argue, but bringing the same cup of tea after taking it away from me and thinking they can convince me it's the tea I ordered was not a very nice experience to say the least. A few minutes later our food order arrived and it was wrong as well.

The place has a very eclectic style. In my opinion, they added too many stamps to the wall in the first two rooms. The one leading to the toilet is more balanced. And the toilet is smashing. They have lively, shiny, pinkish wallpaper throughout; it is a bold decoration in itself. We had afternoon tea, and the bread of all the sandwiches was dry; the scones were nice, the pastry too sweet for my taste.

I had high expectations for The Ivy in Windsor, but unfortunately, my experience was a letdown. Food Quality: The food was extremely underwhelming for the price. My main course arrived lukewarm, and the flavors were bland at best. The steak, which was supposed to be medium-rare, was overcooked and tough. The sides lacked seasoning, and the dessert tasted like it had been sitting out for a while. For a restaurant that prides itself on premium dining, I expected far better. Service: The service was shockingly poor. The staff seemed indifferent and inattentive. We had to wait an unreasonably long time for our drinks, and when they arrived, one of the orders was incorrect. Getting the attention of a waiter felt like an impossible task, and there was no sense of warmth or hospitality. Atmosphere: While the décor is stylish, the ambiance was ruined by how overcrowded and noisy the restaurant was. It felt more like a chaotic chain restaurant than an upscale dining experience. Tables were crammed together, making conversations difficult, and the lighting was uncomfortably dim. Overall, The Ivy in Windsor is all style and no substance. With overpriced food, lackluster service, and a disappointing atmosphere, I certainly won’t be returning. There are far better options in Windsor for the same price—or even less.

I took my grandmother for the festive afternoon tea on the 30th December. The afternoon tea itself was decent, my grandmother enjoyed it. Most of the staff seemed lovely, although the lady who served the table next to us was going behind my grandmother telling her to push her chair in and not once did she tell the man who was sitting behind my grandmother to push his chair in when he was clearly causing the lack of space. This really upset me as my grandmother is partially disabled and she can’t feel her legs. This was extremely insensitive and my grandmother felt really embarrassed by this situation. Not all disabilities are visible and I think staff clearly need to be better trained, or maybe they care about other customers more. I probably won’t be returning after this experience.

Our recent visit to The Ivy fell short of expectations. Upon arrival, we were seated in the bar area at a sticky table, and no one approached us to take a drinks order while we waited for our table to be ready. When we were eventually seated, the table was wobbly — though the waitress did her best to fix it. The starters were enjoyable, but the mains lacked excitement and didn’t live up to the usual Ivy standard. The service here was not up to ivy standards which was a shame given this was my parents first, and potentially last ivy visit. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was affected by a table behind us playing videos loudly on their phones, which staff did not address. Overall, this visit didn’t measure up to our previous experiences at The Ivy, which is disappointing given their usual high standards.

My dish was uninspiring. The fishcake was lukewarm and tasted bland. However, sister and husband enjoyed their mushroom linguine and duck rendang. Very expensive for what it is. No atmosphere, feels very much like a chain restaurant. Service, our waitress was very good, however when dealing with the manager, Rory, I was shocked at his attitude. The menu outside and inside promoted the £19.95 for two courses. We were told by our waitress this was not available until Monday. She didn’t have the authority to rectify this so she said she would get the manager. I expected to hear “Hi, I’m x, the manager, my colleague has informed me…, sorry this isn’t available, can I offer you…” But we received an abrupt “can I help you?” so we had to explain the issue again and met with the rude response of “It’s not available so…” and then he walked off. Our food was returned, with over 50% remaining, and the staff made no comments and did not request any feedback. We had a fairly good meal at the Ivy, my fellow diners are awkward and tend to order off menu, which the staff dealt with very well. The reason for the 2 star is the lack of gluten free alternatives for my 10 year old celiac daughter. She was told she could have grilled fish, or grilled chicken, that is it, she couldn’t even have chips. The waiting staff were polite, and knowledgable, and completely embarrassed by the situation. Cosy environment. It was lovely service, although they didn’t give Christmas crackers for a festive menu despite it’ being advertised on their menu as having such. But the chef does not know how to prepare a steak. I ordered a medium, and they served well-done steak. I checked the reviews, and it’s the common theme of reviews. The chef needs training on how to prepare a basic steak.

Really enjoyable trip to The Ivy Windsor. We were a group of three who visited for breakfast. I had the avocado and poached eggs and two pots of decaffeinated tea. Good service (although a little slow when we were ready to leave). Very good food. I love the decor and the ladies toilets were spotless and had really unusual wallpaper. Would definitely visit again.

We had the most wonderful afternoon at the ivy. Shaun was the most attentive barman you could wish for. Cocktails were amazing and his company was all you could wish for. I look forward to going back again in the future ☺️ merry Christmas x

We have a £50 voucher for the Ivy from a gift, as we like the restaurant near home. Whilst visiting Windsor we thought we might use it here. We asked to look at the menu from the hostess at the entrance. Whilst looking others were waiting behind, so we offered to move aside to which she replied "I can't have people standing around the door you need to choose really". My cousin asked to use the toilet whilst we were looking and she said "if you book a table, we are not a public bathroom". ...The food may have well been great but, we didn't book a table.

We enjoyed our afternoon Tea, thank you but the service was not to standard, also we booked a festive afternoon tea we didn’t even get a cracker!! But they would give us one for £2.50 each!! So you can see last years and this year 2024 there won’t be a 2025

This place was very busy when we walked, with no appointment unfortunately, and they were thankfully still able to accommodate. Staff were friendly, efficient, very helpful and accommodating as they ensured all food were free of specific allergies.

Brunch. Beautiful setting with a wonderful decor. Service was good, but things were forgotten on service. I had to ask several times for table water. The food was very flavoursome, but not very warm. Perhaps I was expecting to much.

Awful, popped in for a quick drink about 1030pm, we were ignored by all the staff who seemed more intent on tidying everything away than actually serving anyone. It's not like we weren't noticed, several members of staff looked straight at us but scurried off with a "I'm busy doing something else" look on their faces.

I’ve not eaten here so a can’t rate food however I can say that the landlady Claire is friendly and actually talks to her customers. The real ale I had was good and the overall atmosphere in this pub is great. Everyone is friendly and just how a pub should be.

MISERABLE If you’re thinking of popping in for a coffee I would suggest walking 2 seconds further to Costa. The business has been taken over by new owners and subsequently employed all new staff. Customer service is appalling, very rude and unfriendly. If you’d like your drink made within 20 minutes I would suggest getting behind the counter and making it yourself and as for hygiene I , I wouldn’t even let my dog eat in there. The final straw for me was the chunk of milk swimming in the bottom of my drink. I was actually sick outside of my car. As I said Costa is two seconds up the road and staff are always so pleasant.

It is closed. So sad. Was an awesome place to bring the teens in Maidenhead. Nothing else exists. Made our way here only to find it gone. Wonder why the hours are still advertised & it’s showing as open?
