Excellent Curry and it comes with a drink or a glass of wine. One of our go to places when we visit Windsor.

Did not eat here, just had a drink, one of the nicest wetherspoons I've been too.

Lovely food and drink. Friendly service. Opposite the castle. Outside seating available.

Visited on Easter Monday after a trip to Legoland as a group of 8. Nightmare with wrong orders and poor quality food. We had to send three dishes back to be changed as it was made incorrectly, no apologies and almost an argumentative waiter. Slow service and sticky tables / menus. Toilets were filthy too

Large pub, lots of space inside and out. Great selection of drinks, good prices… but still awful food! The Ultimate burger was far from it and the chips were under cooked, it was busy so I guess too many in the fryer or the fryer not given time to get back up to temp. But the onion rings were good.

We like Wetherspoon in Ireland as the food is pretty good. Somehow our meals in this Wetherspoon was dismal. The katsu curry was curry sauce poured on boiled chicken. My ham was a couple of sliced deli ham (was expecting a thick slab of ham) and the smallest egg I've seen served in restaurant. Maybe this is the standard of Wetherspoon in UK Vs Ireland.

Staff were incredibly kind, patient, and helpful! Atmosphere is great and very good prices. Food is hit or miss. My husband had the steak and kidney pie, which he loved, but it was really tiny. He also had a steak but said it was quite bland. I had a burger which was also very bland and flavourless, but served with really tasty fries. Don't know that I would have dinner here again, but a good pub for drinks and snacks I think.

2 Stars Stopped in at The King and Castle, Windsor and while the prices were cheap, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. Drinks took 30 minutes to arrive and the food took over an hour – far too long considering how busy but not packed the place was. One of the drinks, which was meant to be a cocktail, arrived with no alcohol – just soda water. No one seemed to notice or care. The staff were polite but clearly stretched far too thin, which really impacted the service. If they had more hands on deck, this could have been a decent spot. Until then, I’d think twice about returning.

Me and my family walked in and went to the bar to get drinks and have a good time for my sisters birthday. We were in high spirits and laughing as we were all happy for her on her birthday. Apparently that’s a crime because one particular women didn’t like that and said she was refusing to serve us leaving us extremely confused and very angry. She then continued to tell us that she was refusing to serve us for being “too loud” and then banned us as we were walking out whilst being extremely rude. She has short white hair, definitely on the older side. My friends have mentioned her to me before saying that she’s dulled their experience there as well which is a shame as it’s a really nice place usually. I have informed multiple of my friends about my experience and they have all agreed that they won’t be back there because of this woman specifically as they have experienced the same unpleasantness from her as we did. I’m truely appalled by this and very upset as this was a place I usually loved to have a drink and have a nice time.

Had a very unpleasant experience whilst out with family for some lunch. The food was wonderful but the service received more than ruined a perfectly good day. I no longer had a spirits after being spoken to by a member of wait staff atrociously and will not be dining or drinking here again. Very very rude.

Been here before usually ok but went yesterday with my wife for a meal before a show. Ordered dinner and waited and waited for ages. Went up to the bar they said there was no order for table looked it back up and said they will do it straight away. When it came out my meal was fine but my wife’s order was jacket potato cheese and beans when it came out it was minus beans my wife was told I had not paid for the beans I told her I had they them mysteriously found i had paid they then bought out the beans by that time the rest was going cold. It also has a more limited menu than other weatherspoons. Not sure if I would rush back,

Plenty of tables on several floors. Nice view to the castle from the top floor. Great atmosphere all throughout the establishment. The food is average, along with the service, but the prices are also on the cheaper side so they go well together. Can't really go wrong unless you're expecting a fine dining experience.

Wetherspoons pub ideal position opposite the castle and close to river. Can be very busy but is very spacious. On several levels so plenty of room including lots outdoors when the weather is good. However a fair few stairs to navigate unless remaining at street level bar.

I went for a Mother's Day lunch and although it was very busy the manager George kept us informed about the wait and menu choices. He remained calm and professional as well as the rest of the team. Thanks for a lovely time!

A lovely location. We sat upstairs in a booth with the castle outside the window. Service was a little slower than at most Spoons. Same great food quality and drink as usual.

Poshest spoons I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. We had a fantastic view of the castle. The food menu was better than average spoons, offering rib eye steak.

It's a wetherspoons. Food is good and a great selection of beers and spirits.

An appreciable amount of outdoor space out the back, that many people don't know about. Usual Spoons value and a good range of beers in a rather expensive location for other pubs.

Place is beautiful went for a dinner on a work stop over. Food cooked nicely unfortunately missing bits of food from what adventised to what was delivered.

Nicely done out inside with a great view of Windsor castle. The food an ale were great.

1st visit was great and speedy service and food but 2nd visit was for breakfast and waited ages and then had to go up and adj for eggs that were being well done as his breakfast nearly finished ...

A typical JDW in a grand building opposite Windsor castle and usually pretty busy. Good service and everything as you'd expect in a W pub.

Wonderful atmosphere, the staff really friendly, location is amazing, basically it's opposite the castle, you can see it from the window. Food was great as always, regarding prices and portions. Definitely we will come back. Thank you! Kind regards, Andreea.

Place was rammed in all 4 or 5 floors. That did not interfere with an enjoyable drink and lunch. Service was good. Value excellent. Worth a visit.

The worst Wetherspoons I have been to. Whilst it started with an odd tasting Pepsi max it got worse as they forgot the onion rings and bbq sauce for the chicken burger, then forgot to bring back a fresh Pepsi max and ended with a rock solid garlic naan and poppadoms soaked in oil. I appreciate that it was a Saturday evening and the place was packed, however, this was shoddy service and some of the food was inedible.

Avoid this place. We went there one afternoon at 4pm during half term before we went to our local hotel. We ordered some drinks and found a good seat. The Manager rudely came over to us and said we had to order main meals if you want to stay and said you can’t sit here “necking bottles of wine”. She said “ I will give you 5 minutes to order food on the app or give you a refund for your drinks”. She came back 5 minutes later we said we want a refund and she said “ Im not giving you a refund now”. We were so shocked we left with an open bottle of wine walking down the high street. It was so disgusting for a Manager to speak to us like that in front of child. I complained to Wetherspoons and they said that you have to purchase a main meal if you are with anyone under 18 yr old. Wetherspoons ~ you should let customers know before they purchase drinks that a main meal must also be purchased. You took our money for the drinks but had no sign up or no mention of having to purchase meals. I also reported it to the tourism authority as it was such a horrible experience. If pubs don’t want tourists then tell us but don’t treat us like absolute trash.

Good location for a wetherspoons, right outside the castle. Usual WiFi etc. Used the app to order with no issues.

I tried the Tuesday steak deal and was not impressed. Yes it is a weatherspoon but the food was bad. Chewy and burnt onion rings. Stick to other items on the menu. That being said the service was great and staff very nice.

It's a local pub for me. Great hard working staff and good food for the price. If in Windsor I would recommend this pub.

Convenient place for a quick stop in Windsor. Standard weatherspoon place. The food as usual, simple things not complicated. Food plus beer just for one pound more is great. The plates could be a little better presented, but the concept is keep it simple

I ordered a burger. It was well done. I ordered cheddar cheese on my burger. They threw both types of cheese on and neither of them got melted. The waitress didn't offer condiments for my table. It was packed but the atmosphere was comfortable.

The staff who served us were really nice, the atmosphere is good but at times very busy and it's hard to find a place to sit. Food wise, small portions, and the pizza that we had was so thin, on the colder side and a bit chewy. It wasn't that great. Felt like it was microwaved from frozen.. it looked like a thin cardboard with some salsa and cheese lol. The Mediterranean salad was everything but Mediterranean.. I've been here a few years back but I don't recall this kind of food.. For drinks, sure but I don't think I'll come again for food, however, the food and drink was about £10 per person so it was on the cheap side, maybe that's why.

We turned up to celebrate a friends 50th birthday and were not allowed in. We spoke to Andrew the manager and he still refused us entry. Will not be returning ever. I am disgusted and it has spoilt our night

Maybe because we got there early in the morning, we had a very good experience. The breakfast was hot and plentiful, and the service was excellent. We also went back in after going around Winsor Castle for a drink in the afternoon, and the service was still friendly and helpful.

Does what it says on the tin, great selection of reasonably priced drinks, all set in a lovely old building.

They refused to accept my partners and I valid foreign IDs (Norway and Mexico) and deemed them as “not valid under their policy”. I’ve never experienced this in any other pub, club, or restaurant. After some back and forth, they decided to also have a look at our student IDs and somehow then decided that our other IDs were valid and offered us service; thereby violating their own made-up policy in the process. This was just an excuse to be xenophobic and exclusionary, especially since Windsor—being the tourist-ridden town it is as well as its proximity to the international environments of neighbouring universities—has plenty of people presenting their international IDs. Must also mention how not taking out IDs was also done in a rather rude fashion, completely ignoring the principles of customer service and bordering plain racial discrimination. Disgustingly rude staff.

I’ve just been to king and castle to meet friends from work before we go to our Christmas do for work and the women behind the bar refused service saying we had enough. It’s 6:30, I’m 48 yrs of age and I had just walked through the door. I would not recommend this bar to anyone ever. I will now tell everyone I know. We could even get a non alcoholic drink. Awful service

Great place to eat, you will not be disappointed

A very busy ‘spoons with a decent selection of beers and mixed service. Overall a typical experience in a nice building in a nice town. Food not great though (had steak, nachos, chicken wings, pasta and steak & kidney pudding).

Excellent value for the location. Sat upstairs with a view of the castle. Decent, no frills food. 3 meals, including drinks, £27.

We spent 6.5 hrs in here on Sunday, my friend who is disabled had the light turned out on him in the toilets by a member of staff. After this they refused to serve us despite everyone be in good spirits. Poor show,

Not recommended for tourists. If a place isn't pet-friendly, they should at least put up a sign at the entrance. It's really not on to turn customers away without warning after ordering.

Typical JD. It's massive inside and it was fairly busy all evening. Nothing to write about the place really. You know what to expect.

A Wetherspoons pub that I've been to on many occasions over the years. Situated on the hill of Thames St, just outside Windsor Castle. This is a large traditional pub based on three floors, bars situated on the main and lower levels, with a good sized pub garden at the rear of the building. A bit more expensive than neighbouring Wetherpoon's branches, such as Slough, however still cheaper to eat and drink than many other places in Windsor. The food quality is consistently good, on the number of times I've eaten here, with good portions too. Effort is definitely made here producing the standard Wetherspoons menu. On this occasion, popped in for a Sticky Korean Chicken Bowl and a pint of Leffe Blonde. Total was £11.25. I've had this dish numerous times elsewhere, and have to say it was one of the best I've had. Worth a visit for budget friendly food and drinks in Windsor.

Dirty table and coffee mugs, coffee machines were half empty and we waited a long time for our food. The view of the castle is great but not the best culinary experience.

Wandered in after a Windsor castle visit, on our stay in July. We had a table in the beer garden, which was great. Our group had both the sirloin & rib-eye steaks, as well as the fish and chips. Couldn't fault any of them. My daughter commented it was the best steak she'd ever had! Great prices too. Knocked back a couple of pints as well. Highly recommended!

Utterly gutted, for future reference you absolutely cannot sing Chester Hawkes in this spoons, apparently the bouncer takes offence… I’ll take this outside to the pavement! Me and my tiny karaoke are super sad!! What happened to the festive spirit Mr Spoonskringle 🎄

Awful! The food was half cold, there were long queues, people everywhere and nowhere to sit! We went home shortly after. There is barely any parking space aswell.

NOTE! If you are homosexual I would NOT advise going to this place. The staff (female blonde age 60+) actively followed myself and my partner into the bathroom where they demanded us to leave and then continued to intimidatingly follow us down the stairs until we felt so uncomfortable that we had to leave. Definitely not an inclusive or friendly place. Extremely disappointing and upsetting.

It's a bad time to be white folks. The management here have the pitchforks raised. Just be aware that many foreigners have a heightened sense that we are white and can't stand up to them because of this. I had a drink snatched from my hand, pushed an shoved by two Indians who refused white Romany have Indian heritage. I won't apologise that on my father's side that is the case. Outraged and disgusted is an understatement. There is no common ground to be found and you are trash in their eyes and to be treated as such. The only reason I'm not involving the police is that I believe the manager will rack up more charged in future.

Egg never is served at top of the meat... I see these very typical in Wetherspoon. Bread prices are ridiculous, and I'm not sure why they call bread to a toast 2£ 1 toast when 1 packet is cost 60£. Peter corn sauce sells as a gold, very small ramakin with pepper sauce just to dirty the plate. I think for the price, the suld put minimum double quantity.

Good Morning Visited K&C on Monday and after a lovely English Breakfast and a pint came over a bit faint. The K&C staff and in particular Jay were simply wonderful going the extra mile to ensure my comfort and safety and reassuring my wife Well Done K&C Thank you Jay

Ordered grilled chicken. The bottom part of it was so hard that even with a frantic sawing motion with my knife i could not get through it. I complained but it seems that my complaint fell on deaf ears. I must add that my two companians were pleased with their meals. So maybe i was just unfortunate.

Popped in for lunch they were advertising xmas turkey dinner...looked like circled luncheon meat although turkey the whole dinners were awfull dont order it the quality is zero !!!

Great family friendly meal in Windsor. Great table upstairs overlooking the castle, venue was lovely and cosy (maybe slightly too dark at our venue). Food was enjoyed by all and was excellent value for money during our holiday.

Always thought this place was great value for money but they now serve short measures on some beers. The Leffe glasses are only a full measure if filled to the brim( states it in the glass). However, the bar staff refused to top them up to the brim.

I am not a great fan of Wetherspoons in general, but there are exceptions and The King and Castle is certainly one of them. We arrived in Windsor following a nine hour flight in desperate need of food and a drink. A mixed grill for me and a curry for my companion washed down by a decent keg beer fulfilled that need. The food was well cooked and presented. A member of staff went above and beyond his call of duty in order to ensure everything was satisfactory despite the pub being extremely busy. Other JD Wetherspoons would do well to follow this outstanding example.

Just had drinks with friends after years

Christmas menu started yesterday, went for the turkey panini 5* A couple of pints, service great. Went downstairs in the pub , really relaxed. Lovely meal/helpful at the bar/ lovely chips !- recommended.

This was our second time in Windsor! This time was in May. Love this restaurant, best view on Castle.

The food was excellent as were the staff in providing it, but the WiFi reception in the area with the majority of power sockets is absolutely appalling. I had to waste over an hour there waiting for my devices to charge up before I had to relocate to an area without sockets but decent Internet before I could order.

Let’s be real you get what you pay for if you’re with friends or family and you want a quick bite and a drink on a budget this is the place the food is fair to middling and the drinks are good value. If you’re with friends want fine dining look somewhere else
