The cafe has a quirky interior. We stopped for a coffee - was ok but weak for our taste. I also had a cheese and pickle toasty which was very tasty and came with a simple side salad. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We felt the price was a little high.

Visited Maidens recently for a week and used Little K’s kitchen every day . They do the most amazing salad rolls , super fresh too and also as I discovered rolls on sausage & onion . Absolutely delicious . I’ve travelled over an hour previously to get one of these salad rolls as I just love them so much .

From the moment we checked in Sandra couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcomed. Nothing was too much trouble (she even checked on a family member when they were suddenly taken ill). Fantastic service, food and cocktails were delicious, will definitely be returning, cannot recommend highly enough.

As we didn't get any. Found it really hard to find anywhere for lunch. And despite the website saying they do lunch and having a lunch menu and the outside of the building saying lunch 12-2, when we went in.. Asked if they were open for lunch. No.

Ordered a hot chocolate, it was made with hot water and had little or no milk in it. It tasted horrible, I had to poor it out. Asked for a chocolate chip cookie and got a cookie that had pieces of m&ms in it instead it was stale and I had to throw it out. Was very disappointed and would not order from here again

This is part of the Palace Hotel and we visited both the bar and Brasserie/Restaurant during our stay as part of a tour group. The bar was generally very good with a pleasant ambiance, and overlooking the river. We visited the Brasserie/Restaurant for breakfasts, a booked soup/sandwich lunch and dinner. The breakfasts are mainly buffet style, with a good range of choices, although on the morning of a planned early departure, the number of staff on duty were clearly unable to meet the service requirements. A similar situation occurred with the lunch, where some of our group assisted in serving the soup! The standard of the sandwiches was also poor. Dinner was served from a limited menu, which did give sufficient choice. Also, on all visits to the Brasserie/Restaurant it did not appear straightforward to accommodate dietary requirements, which had been advised in advance. Our experience was below what we expected from this standard of establishment.

I can not explain how disgusting the food was - I ordered sausage chips and gravy - which cost nearly £10 and there was something really wrong with the sausage and the gravy. It just had the most awful taste.

This is the second time I've been here, both times at lunchtime. The first time I was told they closed at 2pm and as it was just after 1pm I was too late. The next time was today and as it was just before 1pm I was told sternly I could eat but had to be out by 1.30 as they close at 2pm. Then charged £10 for a breakfast roll and cup of tea which whilst it was very nice it wasn't worth that, especially as I had to throw it down and get out. There wasn't a single other customer in as they clearly know it's not allowed near closing time!

I eat here regularly with friends as food is generally good. We think Senga is a fantastic member of staff, always has a smile and chats away while doing her work. The younger girls we find to be very rude at times, on more than one occasion they’ve clearly noticed us waiting to be served only to be deliberately ignored. We only come now if Senga is on shift as her customer service is impeccable.

The steak tasted boiled not fried and the onions were sparse and undercooked. This was not a good steak baguette. Nice service though in good surroundings.

We had an enjoyable lunch at the Bein Inn. My partner said his burger was good, his purple coleslaw looked appealing and I have to say his chips (something neither of us is fond of) were probably the best we've had. I ordered a chicken fajita, which was the most unusual I've ever had: *everything*, including the rice (either pilau or basmati, not long grain as I'd expect), wrapped up in one big dod with three sauces on the side. It tasted fine and was filling, but looked tragi-comical. The young waitress warned us they had no avocados, but on questioning thought they may have guacamole; however it was substituted with some kind of chutney, which was ok if unconventional. On the plus side, it all seemed to have actually been cooked rather than banged into a microwave, which we appreciated. The service was good and friendly, and our food arrived in a timely manner, noting that we arrived at the beginning of Friday lunchtime when it was quiet. We're not in a hurry to go back, as the menu was limited and a bit overpriced, at least for my weird offering at £17. There seemed to be some renovation work going on in the entrance area, all good, but didn't add to the ambience. We'd originally looked into this for a Sunday lunch, which seems popular with others, would possibly try it for that in future.

Really nice Scottish tapas! Great for sharing, that way you get to taste more of the delicious dishes! All the dishes we had were super tasty and not one of them disappointed us.. that combined with super friendly staff just made it a superb experience!
