Very expensive but food was nothing special. Fish was cooked fresh but chips tasted like they'd been pre-cooked and sitting a while. Portions are very small for the money too. Maybe a bit too reliant on being the only chippy on Arran and one of the few takeaways in Brodick that's open in the evening. Don't know that I'd have gone back if there was any other choice.

Family of 11 ordered food and we got amazing freshly cooked food very quickly. We enjoyed amazing fish and chips, the kids devoured fish/chicken and chips and we even shared our 1st experience of a battered Mars bar. Right next to harbour as we waited to board our ferry back to the mainland. Would highly recommend and would visit again if we are lucky enough to sail over to Arran again

Absolute shocking customer service! Verbally abused by counter staff after enquiring where our order that we placed was as we have been waiting 20mins. Numerous people who ordered after us had been served and left and we were still waiting. Food was ok, portion bit small, but fish was nice. Was far too much salt on the food as well!

Worst scampi and chips, and pizza supper, we have had in a long time, very over priced for what you get. £9.50 for small portion of scampi and not a lot of chips. Pizza deep fried and disgusting, inedible. Passed off as looking like it was overdone because it was a stone baked pizza ?? This place has a premium location right next to the ferry terminal and so has a captive customer base of people who are just about to depart and don't have time to return and complain as the shop only seems to open 15 mins before boarding time. Given the number of people visiting the island this place really needs to up its game. Very disappointing. The Arran ferry provided a better standard of food.

15 minute wait due to ferry departure. Staff rude. Lady came in as she forgot to order sauce and went to pay. They refused her as it was under £5 on her card…she just spend over £40 in the shop you’d think they’d suck up the card charge or give a 50p tub for free for their custom… a nice man paid for the ladies sauce. Thought that would have been it. No they continued to moan and slate the lady. Not professional at all. We received our food. No parchment on top of the pizza so it ended up having no cheese due to it being stuck to the paper packaging. Fish bad bones. Chips ok. Prices ridiculous. £11.50 for a full pizza supper. Anywhere else £7 max. Save your money and get proper, decent food on the ferry or the nearby hotels.

We spent over £40 here I ran back for some ketchup as my Husband had forgot the little one, it was 50p a tub which was fine, went to pay for two tubs but couldn’t as card was over £5 only and didn’t have cash. Luckily a lovely guy stepped in and paid for the ketchup, would have really hurt for them to have given us a tub after spending so much, on what was poor food anyway! The fish was nice, but the chips were absolutely awful and didn’t taste fresh at all.

From first impression of walking through the door to trying to dissect the soggy mess that was supposed to resemble a fish supper before binning it was an overly negative experience. We walked into an empty shop, no food ready on hot plates (this should have been a sign) empty fridges not even as much as a can of coke to offer and not a single other person in the shop (yet again should’ve been a sign) The service was about as soggy as the fish nothing like the service you receive elsewhere on the island, got stared at as if we had walked into a private members club without an invite. The young girl serving clearly didn’t know what she was doing nor did it seem as if she was in the slightest bothered that she didn’t know what was happening, she was more concerned with detailing how she was going out to get pished at the weekend. Although no other customers were anywhere to be seen we waited longer than expected for two fish suppers, once the guy served up the fish it looked as if it was anemic. I had asked for extra salt and vinegar on one but this still wouldn’t explain what we were served. Both fish were soggy, undercooked and sticky with what could only be described as wallpaper paste. The chips weren’t much better they were stuck together but who knows maybe they were stuck together because of the wallpaper batter. Being of a cheffing background myself I can instantly tell you the batter was far too thick and undercooked, what we did eat before deciding it belonged in the bin has left us feeling as flat as the fish they served us, and almost £20 lighter. Very disappointing to end our tip on Arran but thankfully there’s a coop around the corner with some very friendly helpfully staff, I recommend you go there instead.

We ended up getting a takeaway from the only chippy on the island, we were really looking forward to our dinner and were craving a chippy. We ordered single sausage, haggis and a pizza to share. When our food was eventually ready the guy only gave me the pizza, I had to ask about the rest of the order. I asked for salt only on the sausage, I mentioned this at least 3 times and he still put salt all over the haggis. It was extremely salty. Prior to this he almost gave me someone else's order until another guy behind the counter stepped in to correct him and showed him the food that was laying out ready for us. The haggis and sausage was extremely bland, the batter didnt cover the entire portion of the meat. This is probably the worst chippy food I have had. The pizza was also very disappointing. It tasted like frozen pizza you get out of iceland/lidl that had been shoved in the oven. For £15 this was extremely disappointing and tasted cheap.

Definitely the poorest fish supper I've had in some time. We were hungry waiting for the ferry after a hard day's hillwalking, so splashed out on the 'large' version of fish and chips. At £8.25 a whup, I was expecting it to be quite something....my expectations were soon dashed. Normally "the fish will be a few minutes" is a good sign, and sets the taste-buds tingling at the imminent prospect of freshly cooked Scottish whapper. Sadly the "few minutes" on this occasion was probably to heat the oil up and de-frost the frozen fish. I use the generic "fish'', rather than Haddock as I remain unconvinced as to the taxonomy of the laser-sliced duet I received. Tasteless fish with airless, lifeless and tasteless batter. A smattering of salt on the chips and the fish plonked on top, with neither salt nor vinegar to go some way to rescuing it. Maybe a bit of staff training would be in order regarding batter making and serving. Anyway, we are regular Arran visitors and will certainly think twice before visiting the hooked and cooked again.....V.poor

Lovely tasting fish and was very surprised the kids devoured the nuggets as they weren't the processed frozen variety but the real sort! Will definitely be back.

Visited hooked and cooked today. 2 fish suppers bought, took out the shop and binned within 2 mins of opening the box. THE worst fish and chips I have ever tasted. Dripping in fat and grease. £17.50 wasted. I will never be back!

Had a lovely fish & chip takeaway from here. My mate had a burger which he said was delicious. My big downfall was underestimating the size of a large portion, next time I’ll go for the smaller option

Bought large fish and chips to share between 2 of us. More than enough for us both. Nice fish with crispy batter. Nice chips also. £8 which was decent for large portion we had.

This chippy benefits from being the only one of its type on the island. Chips average and batter on the sausage was too thick and greasy.

Great fish and chip takeaway. We had a large order as there were 12 of us but they tooki it all down and dealt with efficiently and friendly and didn't have to wait long for it al to be cooked. The haddock was lovely and was HUGE!

Right by the ferry terminal, this unassuming looking shop serves great quality food by friendly and chatty staff. My food was cooked fresh and speedily....chips where light and fluffy. All served in biodegradable packaging. Worth the drive from Corrie for.

Arriving late in Brodick for an evening meal, most places booked up, so in desperation thought "fish and chips on the seafront will do". What a surprise! Cooked to order, and fantastic meal was had. Great open air dining experience!

At £7.50 a fish supper, it’s no by means cheap. The size is ok, although one of our fish was half the size of the other and some of the chips, you could have described as scraps. When we’re back over in Arran we’ll be giving this place a miss sadly.

So went to pick up new Glasses today and as I was straight after work early shift was hungry . A Piri Piri place in mall Called Black Rooster ( yea crazy a chicken place ). It had advertised “ Vegetarian “ menu. Corn burger Paneer wrap Halloumi burger All of these. £4.50. With a variety of “ sauce” flavours . I had decided on the “ corn burger 🍔” Oh sorry we’ve “ phased “ those out . Puzzled look on my face … Ok I no would like the Halloumi Burger. Ahhh ok. With what sauce and do you want lettuce and Mayo Yes please Said I. I really want you to enjoy this I will have the Spicey BBQ please and make that a meal thanks that will be £7.50 Now at this point I sat more in Hope than confidence that this wasn’t a hooge mistake . Sadly it turned out my initial feelings were founded. This mess is what turned up . When is a burger not a burger !! I spoke to a staff member explaining my confusion. Oh we’ve “ phased out the Halloumi burgers” and we now only use the halloumi sticks !!! What would you like to do ? The manager should have explained this when she took your order. I’m sorry if she didn’t . Please just refund me. Thank you. So the moral in the Tale . If it’s a Chicken shop . No matter how “ cool and on trend they want to be seen as having vegetarian options. They will most likely still be a piri piri chicken shop that wants to be Nando’s but still fail with even the basics. 🤮

Excellent fish and chips with the lightest crunchiest batter and juicy succulent fish. As a female solo visitor (walking Ayrshire Coastal Path) I enjoyed the relaxing room upstairs and the staff were ultra friendly.
