We fondly remembered the sandwich station from a previous visit to the island a few years ago, so we just had to visit again during our latest holiday. We ate here twice during our week (once with the Mogabout island tour) and we were not disappointed. They still serve great sandwiches on great bread so if you are visiting Arran you have to go there. Just make sure you are hungry as the sandwiches are substantial.
A warm welcome awaits you in this little friendly restaurant by the campsite in the village. Lots of delicious options for veggies and vegans including deserts.
Sunday lunch the 26th of November and fully booked months ago. Easy to see why....Fantastic food great ambience and service. Very relaxing better than any Glasgow or London experience. Starters of local crab and stuffed mushrooms followed by the most delightful local lamb and beautifully cooked Haddock.Topped of by a lovely home made carmel and apple pie....a byo and no corkage charge . A big thankyou to bRino? In the kitchen and wonderful service from Valirie and Jessica..Alan and Christina Dunn Largs....a must visit for good food lovers.
I’d come to Arran solely so I could eat at Mara. Kirsty and Gordon ( and Flora) run a fantastic little restaurant. The food has not been less than excellent and the service is friendly and welcoming.
As they warn on their website the seating inside is limited but there are benches right outside or even on the beach side of the road.
We ate here 5 times in 7 days this visit (brunch and late lunch on Sunday!)
Already planning to get back here next year.
Always a lovely welcome.
You can go in for a pastry and coffee at cheap prices, or a more expensive meal.
Owners go out their way to deliver good service, which is why they have repeat customers.
Lasagne recommended with cheese.
A rare gem. ✨️
First time in the town so headed for a kebab shop - such a lovely place and I was immediately befriended by the main man. I wanted to get the lamb well done but he talked me out of it buy making me taste all different sauces etc - so passionate and knowledgable about the food he was preparing - we chatted for ages whilst the food was being prepared and I went away with so many cooking tips to try myself and the food itself was 10/10! Highly recommended!
Lovely intimate cafe and meeting point for islanders and visitors alike. The food was amazing. A hearty bowl of tasty soup and mince pie with calvados for after. Thoroughly recommend this gem
I gave my order to a friendly member of staff and was very impressed when she put on a disposable glove before taking my cash, as money is one of the dirtiest things around and handled by many. Great selection to choose from, friendly, chatty staff and very reasonable prices. I have eaten from there quite a few times and have had variety from the menu and never been disappointed. Menu is on the wagon in big print so no need for single use menus.
Tony and his cousin are such kind generous hosts. The coffee blend is perfect. Cappuccino and lattes are so tasty and refreshing. The home baking is phenomenal. I'd say the scones are the best in Scotland. The lunch panini and sandwiches are so fresh and tasty. The attention to detail for service is exceptional. Plum crumble cake, pineapple cake, brownies and the savoury cakes are delicious.
It's not well sign posted but its next door to Coop Funeral home and across from the Butchers.
This is a great place to go for Breakfast or Lunch! Been here several times a day the service is always great and the food delicious! The chicken curry is lovely and the cakes on offer are awesome!
The most kindest and hard working staff and don’t get me started on the very handsome young lad that helps out all over the club house he is amazing as-well would highly recommend there mac n cheese its banging
