What a find. Never knew this place existed and was amazed at what we uncovered! Located in the small coastal village of Lamlash, this restaurant may not be the cheapest place to eat on Arran but it is certainly one of the best! '63AD' is the restaurant within Altachorvie House which is privately owned. You have to visit to uncover the meaning of the 63AD name. The owners are there at the heart of the operation and it shows in the welcome and personal attention given. With its wood burning fires, outstanding views across the bay to the famous Holy Isle, we relaxed for pre-dinner drinks and a review of the menu that was full of local produce. Although not an extensive menu, it certainly offers enough variety and boasts the quality expected of some of the best mainland city centre eateries. I've never seen so much (perfectly cooked) duck on a plate - ever!! Friendly staff and chef/s producing sumptuous cuisine, coupled with some excellent house wines, made our evening not only enjoyable but memorable! To visit Arran and not dine at '63AD' is a big mistake.

Absolutely loved this place and wanted to go back the minute I left. The view was superfluous and the whole experience was bliss. Accommodation excellent, well furbished and spotless with a view right up the Holy Isle - couldn't have asked for better. We were fortunate with the weather - blissful sunshine chilling out for three hours in the gardens absorbing the scenery and being attended to like royalty. Staff were exceptionally attentive, polite, friendly and extremely helpful. Had a meal in the 63AD restaurant in the evening with excellent menu and choices that accommodated both our tastes. The restaurant was splendidly located with the same fabulous view. The service was excellent and the staff were extremely attentive and professional. The manager was delightful and enthusiasm emanated from all the staff in making the visitors stay a very positive experience. Meal and wine was super and reasonably priced. Had breakfast in the morning on the terrace in glorious sunshine - again with numerous food choices and staff accommodating individual requirement. Not only was the food excellent but we had the added experience of watching the pheasants wandering in the garden and the squirrels running up and down the trees. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back. Well done to all especially Alan and we wish you well for the future. Thank you.

63AD is easily missed & just a small sign points to its existence 40 metres up a tarmac track just off the sea front at Lamlash. This walk, whist off the beaten track, is well worth the effort as the path soon opens out to reveal a beautiful vista of Holy Isle and an excellent bear garden. On a fine day this is one of the best views you can get of the isle and it is a wonderful place to eat or enjoy some refreshment. We happened upon this place by accident but enjoyed a drink in the garden before going in to enjoy an excellent meal. Having recently been taken over by a new manger this place has been refurbished and presents a very pleasant ambiance, and offers a great place to relax with a bar and lounge area. However it is the food here that really is the star, and both my wife and I enjoyed a splendid meal and a very enjoyable evening. 63AD is an up and coming venue in the Arran scene and deserves much greater recognition. Highly Recommended.

Just enjoyed a lovely Saturday night meal at the Golf Club. It's a 10 min walk from the pier but worth it. Such a beautiful site. Tables are set up outside for when the weather's nice. New chef who's running it is fab. Great menu with a nice variety and changes according to whats fresh. I had the cod with mussels well presented and delicious. Definitely will return next time I want to try the scallops and the deep fried fish. Both look amazing.

Went to The Three Reasons with my sister for the festive set price Xmas menu and we had the most delicious meal. For starters we had homemade ham hough tart served with a crispy, fresh salad on the side...the pastry was beautiful. For mains we had strips of beef fillet with blackpudding, a mountain of super creamy mashed potatoes, lots of seasonal veg served with a rich tasty sauce...it was excellent. Am sorry to day we couldn't manage dessert as they sounded fab (I'm a big sticky toffee pudding fan). There was choices for everyone including vegetarians. The price for 2 courses is £27.50..exceptional value for money. Service was friendly and efficient, very helpful. Thanks for a lovely night.
