Best roast beef dinner i have ever had

The best pub food in Largs and reasonably priced too, we have tried many of the menu items and the steak pie in particular is the best I've ever had. If you're in Largs and looking for somewhere to eat, make the Three Reasons your first choice, you won't be disappointed.

First time trying this place as it’s never been appealing to me but I have it a chance and it was just outstanding the food was great no complaints about it. The staff were attentive and made sure you were alright and the environment was lovely and I would recommend to others will be returning.

Always wanted to try this place. Doesn't look that inviting on the outside however, once inside it's totally different as it's very cosy and friendly. The staff were really attentive and pleasant. I was cold and just wanted to make a start on their menu. I opted for the specials of lentil soup and pie, chips and beans as it appealed to my cold appetite. The lentil soup was really tasty and just how my mum would make it again the pie, chips and beans were really tasty too. The presentation was excellent and the staff were really attentive which earned them a good tip from me. Now, I've tried the basics I will be returning to try more from the main menu. Noticed couples and families enjoying their meals too. Highly recommend it :)

Always love going here for lunch. It has big portions and smaller portions, which I prefer. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Food is always freshly made and amazing.

We visited for dinner and had smaller portions of both steak pie and the scampi. There was no fish available on the menu tonight. I also had tomato soup and bread. The food was really nice and the smaller portions suited us perfectly although they were still substantial. Special thanks to our servers Courtney and Ruby who treated us very well. They were very welcoming and looked really pleased to see us. They were courteous, efficient and attentive throughout our visit. Worth going back just to get such excellent service. Regrettably, I had to leave my double measure 12 year old Glenlivet whisky practically untouched as my glass was ‘dive bombed’ by several fruit flies. Maybe something the proprietors might try and address as this would probably put me off rushing back.

Went to The Three Reasons with my sister for the festive set price Xmas menu and we had the most delicious meal. For starters we had homemade ham hough tart served with a crispy, fresh salad on the side...the pastry was beautiful. For mains we had strips of beef fillet with blackpudding, a mountain of super creamy mashed potatoes, lots of seasonal veg served with a rich tasty sauce...it was excellent. Am sorry to day we couldn't manage dessert as they sounded fab (I'm a big sticky toffee pudding fan). There was choices for everyone including vegetarians. The price for 2 courses is £27.50..exceptional value for money. Service was friendly and efficient, very helpful. Thanks for a lovely night.

Food is very good and fair priced, the chips taste like actual chips, unlike the the oily filthy ones you would get from a usual chippy.

Had mince tatties and neeps today. Was so good I took a takeaway home for my son. Was delicious. John the chef does a great job

Came for an early evening meal with my mum. She had a small steak pie meal, and I had a 4oz steak burger. Both were delicious, and with a couple of soft drinks, the bill was just over £20

Visited here on a busy Saturday afternoon. Pleased to get a table, clearly a popular place to eat and drink. Staff were warm and friendly, and made us feel welcome from the outset. 👏🏻 Quick service too. Great menu, plenty to choose from, plan to return to sample something else 👍🏻. Appreciated the availability of different portion sizes (also reflected in the price). Also, a specials board on the wall - had not spotted this until after ordering - not to worry - another time! We both ordered desserts, happy with choices. Rounded off with coffees - a quality coffee (not always the case these days) much appreciated. Would recommend and plan to return when in the area.

We went for early dinner - tables not bookable, and it gets busy, so just your luck if you can get a table. On this occasion we did - great choice, generous portions, cheerful efficient service. Would thoroughly recommend, but be prepared to wait or have a plan b at busy times.

Absolutely fantastic place to eat or drink. Food was 10/10. We were in a group of 7 to eat, including 3 kids, and they got us a table ready in no time even though the place was absolutely mobbed, the atmosphere was amazing as well as the staff. Thank you all x

Lovely welcome as we walked in with our 4 yo, the staff were great and really helpful. We didn't eat, but the menu was tempting and the food we saw (and smelt) looked amazing!

Four of us meet up as many times during the course of the year as we can for a catch up and lunch. Unfortunately a local Pub we used to go to closed down at the end of September so we were left with not knowing when to go for our lunch! Prior to going over to Largs I checked out a few places on TripAdvisor looking for favourable reviews. I am delighted to say that we decided to go to The Three Reasons Pub for our lunch yesterday. What a find this was. We were stunned to see just how busy the place was. We had a short wait before getting a table. Their menu has many very tasty looking dishes on it and it was hard to decide just what to have to eat! 3 of us opted for Prawn Cocktail as a starter and 1 decided on the Chicken Pakora. What a decent portion of Prawn Cocktail no shortage of prawns and the Chicken Pakora was equally as good . We all enjoyed. What was very appealing was the fact that for main course you could have a small portion or a normal portion this to me is a winner. 2 of us had the lovely Lasagne with another having Macaroni Cheese and lastly Fish and Chips. The food was all very well priced and we thought great value for money. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and this was all washed down with a couple of bottles of wine which we shared between the 4 of us. Full marks in every way for The Three Seasons, the atmosphere was just so nice with lovely background music, the food and service were absolutely spot on. We could not fault a thing. I am very pleased to say that the toilets were absolutely spotless. What a find this was and we are already planning our next outing for lunch!! We all would highly recommend this place for a meal when you are visiting Largs as we were, you MOST CERTAINLY WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Keep up the good work and we will look forward to seeing you next month.

Amazing venue certainly changed, Yes food is Best in Largs and all fresh no "Ping" Chef here. Sadly if Stuart came of his laptop at times and said "Hello" to the Guest it would make a Difference surprised that the George belongs to Stuart and they make NO connection when usually the would be PROUD to say Our "Sister" Pub however NOT in the Three Reasons or the George!!! The Staff at the George go beyond their duty to make sure the "Guest" is enjoying themselves.

Great food at great prices. Staff excellent and work so hard to turn over tables when busy. Visit at least once a month and will keep coming back.

Went for lunch with friends on thier recommendation. Was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful old styled pub with some of the best food in largs. Always service with a smile and the staff are always there to help you out, prices are good for the quality of food (especially the stake pie lol ) been back a few times and will continue too.

Excellent lunch at the three reasons yesterday. Got in just before the rain started so got sat down right away. It was busy but the staff were really friendly ,ordered quickly and the food came out promptly. We had the Wings bucket, the Haggis basket, the Chilli nachos and two chips, one salt and chilli. All the food was super tasty and looked great. It was less than £34 for lunch with 2 Diet cokes and a pint of the guest beer, which for the quality of the food is amazing. Don’t be put off by the decor, the Three reasons is a great spot for food on the front in Largs .

Been a few times , but haven't wrote a review until now but I have to say this is the best pub in largs by far. Food is always amazing but today's special "bang bang cauliflower" was outstanding . Hope it becomes a regular item on the menu. Food , drinks and the staff and all 10/10 Can't wait to come back soon

During our visit to Largs we stopped at The Three Reasons for an early dinner. We were greeted by a lovely lady who showed us to the table. We were lucky to get a table as they were very busy. Very quickly a waiter provided is the menu. We advised we were waiting for other diners and that was not problem, he took a drinks order and we looked over the menu which had a lot of options. Once our other guests arrived we ordered 3 starters to share; 1 Bucket of Wings with hot sauce, 1 Bucket of Sticks (Mozzarella sticks) and 1 Basket of Pakora. These well al very good. The mains were equally as good, 1 Chicken fillets with chips, 1 small Haddock and chips, 1 Katsu curry, 1 Steak pie with veg and chips and 1 Nachos with beef. It's quite a long narrow pub/restaurant, but well laid out and a good number of staff providing an excellent service. A big call out to Courtney who was a fantastic waitress who has such a lovely smile, thanks.

The Sunday roast is delicious, be early for lunch as the tables fill up quickly , fish and chips are also a favourite of mine

Here for a short stay had dinner last night came back again tonight for dinner amazing both times meals were superb hubby had the mental chilli he's loves hot food and it didn't disappoint would definitely recommend and the staff are really accommodating

We visited this pub for lunch after finding it on here, definitely a good find! Steak pie is tasty with proper veg and also a macaroni cheese dish and a chicken pitta with salad 5 x drinks including a glass of wine and came in at £65! Definitely bargain Dogs welcome, they brought a bowl of water without being asked and really lovely and friendly throughout the visit

We stumbled across this pub/restaurant when visiting Largs. The staff are lovely and accommodating and the food was great quality. Everyone really enjoyed their food and we will definitely be back. It was very reasonably priced, as for two adults and two children we were around £35-40.

Sundays and sunshine are for motorbikes and friends, a group of us descended on Largs as our meeting point and decided on a spot of lunch I have ate in the three reasons countless times but realised I’ve never left a review before, I normally opt for the steak pie but I’m on a diet so today I opted for the chicken and rice soup and it was just like the homemade soup I make myself which gets the approval of all my friends and family so that was perfect for me, our resident vegetarian had the Mac cheese which she said was good a decent portion but not as good as the guy in the barras ! Need to check that one out The other three opted for the smaller portion of steak pie as they also frequent Largs and know just how generous the portions are !! The only issues with this pub is getting a table !! It’s always mobbed especially when the sun is out and Largs is busy.

Nice pub, friendly attentive staff, served quickly though it was crowded. We ordered the Sunday roasts & were looking forward to them so much. They appeared looking like nouvelle cuisine, however hungry as we were we tucked in. The beef was delicious but the rest very poor, I had carrots , some bland turnip? No roast potatoes but new potatoes with their skins on which were hard & undercooked & 1 (yes one) bit of baby broccoli. This at £10 .95 each, we told the waitress who told the chef who shrugged. We left still peckish, what a shame as the pub has a good reputation for food.

Visited today 13.7.24 with my wife, daughter & dog. Can honestly say this was the best pub food I've ever had. The lasagne was superb (one of the best I've ever had) my wife got the chilli con carne (spice level.. Mental) & usually when you get chilli it's never spicy, this was & it was delicious. My daughter got macaroni cheese & said it was lovely. Next time we visit Largs, we will definitely be back. If you're in the area, make sure you give it a try. 👌

We found it very dull & a bit of an ‘old man’s pub’ vibe. There was also a bit of an unpleasant smell. We ordered drinks as we were too early for lunch but decided to leave & sample the fresh air & order takeaway elsewhere!

Those are the first “three reasons” that come to mind to why you should eat here. Seems very popular with locals of all ages and as tourists, we would recommend it to other visitors. Also liked that they have a smaller portion option at least on the entreés we chose (steak pie and chicken with haggis). Even at that, we hadn't room for dessert.

What a great little place. The food is lovely, the staff are pleasant, and it’s in a great location in the centre of Largs. I’d encourage everyone to pop in for a bite to eat when visiting Largs, and I’d definitely come back again :)

Always busy but dong have to wait long for a table. Food is first-class can recommend Mental Chili Con Carne, not for the faint hearted. Staff efficient and friendly. Probably the best reason to visit Largs. Be back soon 😊

Great place to eat reasonable price

Love this place & have already sent lots of family & friends there for food, service is good staff are very friendly & helpful.

My wife & I stopped in for dinner & were very impressed. Old style pub feel to it, The staff were all very helpful & made you feel welcome even though your not a regular. We had some haggis fritters with peppercorn sauce good choice they were great we were only disappointed not to have ordered more. For dinner I had steak pie n chips & my wife was going to get the Caledonian chicken but when she seen almost everyone that was eating had steak pie she changed her mind & was she glad she chose this as we both agreed it was fantastic. We got the large portion & both struggled to finish it but did. The stewed steak was extremely tender & was in large chunks not one of us found fat or gristle. We would've had desert but were very full & had to waddle when we left...lol

Had birthday celebration with some special friends excellent value for money and the staff were amazing 👏

Below average pub food with inflated prices! Unsure if this is cost of living but there are better places in largs to spend money! My friends would also not return and none of us finished meals

Came here because The Fish Works were closed and have to say their fish & chips were decent, fresh fish crusty batter, and peas that are actually tasty. Lovely waiter too. I loved the slightly local atmosphere here - 80s playlist, the place felt very relaxing and authentic.

Really friendly staff and nice atmosphere. They have a weekly guest ale that you’ve got to try. But the highlight is the banging playlist…best pub music I’ve heard in so long!

Have tried so many places for food in Largs but this is by far the best.Lasagne and Caledonia Chicken both excellent with decent size portions.Great atmosphere and staff extremely friendly and work really hard to make sure customers receive the best experience.Special mention to both waitresses who were on today (friday5/1)as their service and attentiveness were outstanding.Will definitely be back!!!

Excellent place for food and drinks, good menu choice, very good service and prices good. A nice atmosphere situated in the centre of the town opposite the ferry slipway would highly recommend.
