Disappointing! Ordered the 3 cheese macaroni and was presented with boiled penne pasta with grated cheese! Not even bechemelle sauce! Very poor!

Came here today after seeing the food on Facebook a lot and it looked amazing!! On arrival (just after 1pm) it was very busy we were told there was going to be a wait and got taken to out table beside the window, the bar/restaurant itself has a cosy comfortable vibe. We got out drinks orders taken straight away however the wait to be served for food was easy a good 25 minutes! Which personally I thought it was a tad long not to even take the order. There seemed to be a lot of staff but only 2 actually doing the work the rest were standing behind the bar and talking with there help they orders would’ve been like clockwork! (Many hands make light work) the food eventually arrived a good 40 minutes in total for the starter we waited from being seated, the tempura was very thin and had more batter than chicken but tasted nice, the mains were quicker coming out and were really tasty I personally loved the orange gravy!! I was also a tad disappointed to hear the “weekly special” burgers which drew me in on Facebook in the first place were only on a Tuesday so couldn’t get it. I personally won’t be rushing back in a hurry unless it’s a Tuesday! The food I seen on Facebook definitely didn’t match unfortunately what I had today, it’s also not the cheapest so did expect a higher standard of food.

A definite 5 out of 5. Food tasted amazing. All dishes looked great as well. Can't wait for my next visit. Busy too which is good to see, proof it's popular.

Just home from a lovely lunch with our daughter & 2 grandchildren. Had walked through the Beach Park & tried a couple of places on the road, both full. Got a perfect table that had room for the buggy. All our food was excellent, well presented, hot & tasty. Hubby & I had panini & wraps, & our daughter had 2 starters, & grandson had the kids meals. Staff all very friendly & toilets very clean, drinks very reasonable. Dog friendly too & they get a bowl of water. Will definitely be back when in Irvine again.

Excellent place as a base for a walk to Irvine beach and environs. Close to the Maritime Museum, and Beach walks. fresh Air and a good breeze and a meal at the end of it! Roz and team excellent with a menu we tried for the first time...tasty, hot and easily paced. Will be back again!

I visited the harbour lights last week with family. Everything was perfect. The new chef is outstanding! Not a scrap of food was left on our plates. The service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. We felt very safe and comfortable with all the social distancing measures that were put in place. Excellent value for money, we will definitely be back

Can recommend this place highly enough. Called in for a meal with my wife and two young kids. I was very reassured but the high level on cleanliness and PPE worn by the staff. Our meals were amazing and the staff couldn’t do enough to help. I will definitely be back. Hopefully they will be allowed to serve beer the next time as with my two kids it helps

Just had a meal with my partner and friends I had a chicken and banana pie my partner had steak pie our friend had harbour lights burger and chicken supreme and they were all top notch would recommend it staff were very helpful and efficient and the restaurant was warm and cosy all social distance was adhered to and the staff were always sanatizing we felt very comfortable even the chef found time to come out and speak to us ....we would definitely recommend this restaurant....

Wanted to eat somewhere close to the beach with the dog. Stood for 3 minutes while the staff had a conversation, eventually picked a table to seat ourselves. We let the dog off the lead for two seconds to be able to tie the lead around the table. We were then finally greeted with ‘the dog needs to be on a lead in here’. We were then ignored for ten minutes, I eventually went up to ask for drinks and they were brought over with a menu. Took a further 15 mins for the first woman who had been rude to us to come over to take our order. We waited for an additional 45 mins and then a lady came over to clarify what meat we were having in our tacos... so the food hadnt even began to be made. After an hour in this horrible place, we eventually got our meal. Which had obviously been microwaved. Very very disappointed in the service and the horrible meal. I actually couldn’t eat the vile food. I wasn’t up for waiting another century before our plates were taken away, so I went up and ask for a card machine. Absolutely shocking service, will never be back.

Hi we support kids with desablites we came here for food and lunch we received the drinks and asked for food and 30 mins no food told staff there said it will be in 2 mins nothing came at last the food came after 2 HOURS everyone had to eat as quickly as possible as we had to take them to the drop-off for their families. Shame on you we I'll never come back

Great pub on the Seafront. We went for a meal and to listen to the band. Great food, no steaks on the menu? But I enjoyed my Tempura chicken and for desert Sticky Toffee pudding. I do prefer a pub that serves 35ml measures, as this does, with the friendly staff we enjoyed out night. Band were excellent and if you feel like it there’s a bit of room for a dance. Would come here.

Have been to Harbour Lights several times recently and each time we have come away satisfied, and well fed. The food is excellent and the portion size very good. The menu choice is excellent and the staff are friendly. The fish and chips is superb and the range of burgers wide and excellent I can recommend the goats cheese and red onion burger. my husband enjoyed his haggis and peppercorn sauce burger though he would have preferred his bun untoasted. This is an excellent stop for a decent lunch at excellent prices.

Have been frequenting here for a couple of years now. Standards have never dropped. Excellent food, great value for money, lovely surroundings, pleasant, friendly staff. Had the Sunday roast today.Can't fault it. Perfect portions for the cost. You would probably pay at least £5 more in other restaurants. Desserts at £3.95. Husband recommends the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream, and if I can ever drag myself from the delicious toffee sundae, I'm sure I would recommend it too! But that sundae....mmmmm. If you are in the area, give it a try. You won't be disappointed. If you're not in the area, get yourself down there.

Stayed in one of the rooms for 2 nights. Location was fantastic, sea view, a 2-minute walk from a supermarket, retail park and train station to Glasgow. Throughout my stay, the staff treated me as part of the family and couldn't do enough for me. Food was great and loved the drinks and karaoke down in the pub!

Visited here on a quiet Sunday afternoon and was so impressed with the quality/price of the food on offer. For starters I had lentil soup and my partner had chicken tempura and for mains, I had fish and chips and my partner had gammon steak - we thought the dishes were fantastic. The meals cost just over £12 each which was brilliant value for the portion/quality!The restaurant has a very modern interior and an extensive menu - staff were also very attentive. Looking forward to returning!

I arranged for 10 friends to join me for a 50th Birthday Celebration booked in advance we had a 3 course meal on average £15 per head with a great variety of choices on the menu. Bonny & the servers were excellent supporting with decorations & taking the cake in advance of the surprise all served with a smile. Free live entertainment with great tunes & dancing till late we had the best night in excellent surroundings, brilliant atmosphere fantastic value for money & the Birthday girl had a ball ..... a must visit if you venture near Irvine Harbour ......

Just had lovely 2course meal for under a tenner. pubs need the buiseness and good to have good hospitality .. and service also no portion scrimping.. so please try folks as we will go back..

Stayed here as was attending a wedding nearby, room size was generous and clean, staff friendly and helpful.

We stayed for 7 days and absolutely loved it ! Very clean amenities and rooms . There’s kitchen access also even though we preferred to eat downstairs in the restaurant. The food was beautiful and fairly priced . The train station is just down the road and a large shopping centre. We would definitely stay there again

A surprisingly nice bar inside. The outside does not do it justice. Inside is very trendy, smart furniture, nicely decorated, great lighting and a very well stocked bar. I like the place and would definitely go back.

We spent a few nights in Irvine on the way to and from Islay. The first night we "shopped around" for a nice place for a quiet drink. After that, we took a taxi straight to Harbour Lights, where both drinks and atmosphere were more to our liking. Lovely place to enjoy a drink.

This place can be easily missed as there are no boards or menus outside and does not advertise itself very well.

Visited here yesterday for a Sunday lunch. Walked in and was greeted so lovely! Took to our seats,drinks came immediately with our order taken. Lovely cosy restaurant. We were able to talk to regulars,went out for a lunch and ended up having such a great laugh with both guests and staff! Food is amazing! Service well you don’t get better! Lovely ambience.

Monthly lunch with friends. Decided to give here a try as it had a good reputation for food. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is excellent and the staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome. There was plenty of choice on the menu...something for all tastes. Two of us had the steak, sausage and ale pie, which came with a choice of mash or chips, and one went for the lasagne with garlic bread and chips. The food was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Two of us followed the main course with a portion of apple and toffee crumble topped with custard which also went down very well. We had a very good afternoon and will look forward to our next visit. Would recommend the Harbour Lights to anyone looking for good food in pleasant surroundings.

This place is in my opinion the best place for a meal in irvine. Everywere else is very Weatherspoonsy. The Ship Inn had always had the best reputation for down Irvine harbour however it doesnt hold a candle to the harbour lights. Food is always fresh and delisious, The staff are always friendly and have always been very accomodating. They provide gift vouchers which i have continued to buy for christmas and birthday presents. If your not looking for a munch and just a better schene in irvine the harbour lights is a great place to go, there is karoke on a friday and live music every saturday. I always recommend the harbour lights to family and friends. Although the bar is not hudge on a busy night i always find myself being served very quickly, without the staff the place wouldnt be what it is !

Cannot rate this restaurant highly enough...We held my partner's 60th birtday dinner/party here in their newly available private room which was just perfect..The food was excellent and the staff were amazing.. can't thank them all enough especially Bonnie for making it a night to remember..First Class!

Return visit. The husband had fish and hand cut chips. ( As usual) I decided to try the festive fare. £10.95 for two courses. I chose to go for main and dessert. What can I say? I HATE sprouts and stuffing. My turkey and all the trimmings was served with Asian sprouts. Not like any sprouts I've ever seen. I wasn't going to try them. Trust me, you have to try them. They were brilliant. As was the stuffing. Turkey was lovely and moist. The roast potatoes were crispy and golden. And the creamy mash was ace. Followed this with the seasonal crumble. Can we make the season for this last all year? Absolutely gorgeous. Even afore mentioned husband loved it. Had to snatch it back off him. As in previous visits, waiting staff and bar staff were friendly, pleasant and helpful. All in all, another great visit. Cannot recommend The Harbour Lights highly enough. Can't wait to go back. Gradually working my way through the menu! So far we can recommend: Visit number 1: Fish and hand cut chips, Steak pie and mash, Visit number 2: Chicken stuffed with cream cheese, wrapped in ham with creamy mash. Oh that mash! Visit number 3: Cajun chicken crepe with fries. Will review Sunday roast on.....Sunday. Two course meal for £10.95, 3 courses for £12.95. Generous portions, great food, good value for money, lovely surroundings and friendly, pleasant staff. What more do you need?

Have visited this bar a number of times since under new management and have never been disappointed. The decor is lovely and really appropriate for the harbour area. I visited with my dad, brother, sister in law and extended family, the service and food was excellent, something for everyone, you must give it a try

We visited with a large party to celebrate a special birthday we had a reduced menu to choose from as our booking was over 12 people. But the food did not disappoint, each course was well presented and delicious, not one person in our group had a complaint.

We visited here for the first time on Sunday for lunch. Why we have never visited before, is beyond me. Lovely surroundings, excellent food, pleasant, friendly staff and good value for money. My husband is a die hard fish and chip man and said it's the best he ever had. Great praise indeed! I had chicken stuffed with cream cheese, wrapped in Parma ham, served with veg and creamy mashed potatoes. The chicken was excellent, moist and tasty, veg cooked to perfection, but those mashed potatoes? They were superb. We will not be leaving it too long before we go back.

We were staying in Irvine for a couple of nights and visited the Harbour Lights on a couple of occations. Good food, helpful staff and a great atmosphere.

Heard about this restaurant pub, was a bit apprehensive about going along. Very glad we did good food, bar staff extremely friendly and they have live music on some Friday and Saturday nights.

Been here a few times now the presentation and quality of the food is simply superb. Staff are wonderful and friendly giving good advice and descriptions of the dishes. Service is very timely and never slow. Can’t wait to go back.

My mother-in-law booked this place for 6 o’clock on a Sunday night. Never having been before I was looking forward to trying it out and I was very pleasantly impressed with the whole place. There was a lovely warm atmosphere, attentive, friendly staff and great food. Highly recommended.

I've been drinking in this pub on and off for nearly forty years and the food has never been this good, this place is fast becoming my go to place to eat.

Fish and chips were amazing. Lovely big bit of fish and nice hand cut potato chips. On the down side a wee bit creasy. The staff were really nice and friendly will be back again.

Decided to try here for a birthday meal as it was local and we had heard positive feedback from family and friends. Pub was busy on arrival with a good decor. The first girl to serve us was attentive and pleasant. She took our orders and served the starters and then finished her shift. We had decided to take the 3 courses for £14.95 even though some of the options available on this offer wouldn't have necessarily been our 1st choice. Her replacement was much less attentive and looked very uninterested with no communication. We both had garlic mushrooms to start which were ok. I had a chicken burger which ended up being served loaded with unwanted cajun spice and chips that had been pre boiled but then not fried enough to serve. My partners fish was nice. She asked the waitress for mayonnaise and after a lengthy time asked again to which the waitress replied she was looking for it, after a few more minutes she returned with a dish and said that this was the only mayonnaise they had. Which turned out to be wholegrain mustard mayonnaise. Which we didnt like. After dinner we both ordered chocolate cake which was dry and overcooked. Upon receiving the bill we noticed that we had been charged too much, only to be told that the 3 courses for £14.95 was only availible Mon - Fri. Nowhere on the menu in the pub or the menu on the website did it say this. We ended up paying and leaving anyway but left feeling misled and unimpressed with how our evening turned out.
