Room was dusty with cobwebs on the ceiling could be doing with a deep clean. We arrived to be told they had no space for us at dinner & would book a taxi for us to eat out, bit disappointed when you are a paying guest @ £155 for the night. Car park is so small with only a couple of spaces they ask if you are going to go out when you arrive.

Spectacular ! We had a great time. I highly recommend it. Exquisite staff, available, attentive to your needs and always ready to give help and support. For example, we told them that we were going to visit Glasgow and they immediately advised us to take the train and explained the way to get there (10 minutes and we were at the station!) So as not to have parking problems, but they were also ready to give us directions on which car park was best to stop at. They then opened the kitchen just for the 3 of us on the first evening when we arrived at almost 7pm! Our family room consisted of two doubles, one accessed from the private bathroom. Large, comfortable beds. Beautiful view from the restaurant. I absolutely recommend it!

A great hotel. Amazing views. Clean, bright rooms. Brilliant mattress and pillows. Best sleep we've had in a hotel. Bathroom was immaculate. Alan, Nicola and Callum couldn't do more to make your stay more enjoyable. Breakfast cooked to order by Alan the owner. I challenge you to find a better breakfast anywhere. As the weather wasn't so good, we dined in at night. So glad we did, the food was delicious. Cannot recommend The Haylie Hotel highly enough.

My review is solely on the restaurant, as we didn't stay here. I'd heard about The Haylie being a good steakhouse and had wanted to give it a try. 4 of us went along for dinner and came away very impressed. I had the 8oz fillet the others has 8oz sirloin, a chicken dish and a scampi. Now I am very finicky about my steak temperature and like it on the rarer side (red but not bloody). More often than not my steak is overcooked, which I hate. The steak here was (a) cooked absolutely perfectly and (b) was wonderfully tasty, and not overly fatty. Everything else was cooked wonderfully too - even the chips must have been double fried as they were wonderfully crisp. Service was great and prices were very reasonable.

Candle lit restaurant created a beautiful ambiance. We had a very warm welcome from the staff. The food was delicious, excellent quality and presentation. I was delighted that you are still given a hot roll and butter while waiting on starters. Wine was very nice, service was superb! We used to frequent here years ago as a family and hadn’t been since well before lockdown, it’s more expensive than other Largs eateries but the whole dining experience is first class! Hopefully will not leave it so long until we visit again.

Firstly let me say that there is an issue with parking at the hotel, it has very limited spaces and as the hotel is very popular it is a bit tricky to get a space. We left the hotel on a Saturday evening to go into Largs to get fish and chips, it's too far to walk, and could not get parked when we got back. We did however get parked on the next road down. This is not a criticism of the hotel as it is what it is and they can't magic up more spaces, it's just to make other people aware. The hotel itself is very nice but bear in mind there is no dedicated bar to sit and have a drink. There is a sofa in one of the dining rooms which we used when we arrived to have a drink but again, no criticism of the hotel as they use the available space for 2 dining rooms. Talking of dining rooms we move on to the food. We ate in the restaurant on our first night and the food was outstanding. I was initially disappointed as there there were no langoustines that night but I then decided on the sirloin steak and OMG it was the best steak I've ever had, and I've had a few I can tell you. My wife had the fillet and she also raved about it. Breakfast was also excellent with each of the items top quality. I have to mention the staff also who were very fantastic

A wonderful stay for a few days midweek at this ideally situated hotel in Largs. Beautiful views from the bedroom to Cumbrae with the mountains of Arran in the background. Clean, spacious room with a very comfortable bed, and a small adjoining sitting room. Food was excellent, a variety of fresh summer fruits for breakfast as well as a selection of traditional cooked breakfast dishes. Dinner in the evening was a special treat, in a dining room with lovely sea views. Friendly and helpful staff, highly recommend the Haylie.

Had our first visit here after a recommendation. Got a table in the bay window with nice views over the water. It’s quite old fashioned inside and very red but has character. The “background” music was a little loud, mainly jazz and playing on a loop so kept hearing the same songs over and over again which was annoying. We were given our menus and told we’d be brought the 2 course special menu (why we weren’t given them along with the regular menu is beyond me) but this arrived after a long wait. In fact, the service was painfully slow the whole night. It took ages for our main order to be taken then even longer to order the dessert (had to ask waiter to take our order after a 20 minute wait). We waited far too long for our bill and had to ask twice for it. The 4 staff members were very young and no one seemed to be in charge or to oversee them. They were very friendly but not attentive so this seriously let them down and I just felt frustrated when it should have been an enjoyable night. The food was very good. The potato skins were nice for starters. The lasagne and chicken supreme were very nice but the chips were on the hard side. Overall, lovely food (special menu good value, regular menu a bit pricey) but the day we were there, the service was poor. Not sure if we’ll be back.

Three of us went to the Haylie restaurant as they accommodate vegan cooking and the place was recommended by an ex Largs resident. We were very impressed. The menu is good and the food descriptions perfect. The service from a young team was exemplary even taking the trouble to find things out from the chef. My beef Wellington was perfection cooked rare, as I like it and the home made puddings mouth watering. The vegan food was declared delicious. Plus, the view from the table was great. I am very glad we came here, and what a great way to celebrate another FA cup triumph.

Popped in for an evening meal mid week thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The waitress was attentive and the meals came out very quickly. We both enjoyed our 3 courses, the size of the portions and the quality of ingredients lived up to my expeditions. The decor is a bit ‘old fashioned’ however this did not detract from a pleasant evening meal out. I’ll more than likely return back and try another item from their menu.

Here with a party to celebrate a special occasion. We met in the lounge for a pre-meal drink. Unfortunately the gin & tonics didn't come with either lime or lemon. The girl serving said there was none. However, when others arrived they miraculously found the fruit for the drinks. The order for food was taken without any fuss or bother - one comment was that this being primarily a steak house the origin of the meat would be displayed somewhere on the menu local or otherwise. The meal was served and the steaks were all pretty nice unfortunately the ordered vegetables arrived when most were finished. Dessert was ordered and took over half an hour to be served (cheese and biscuits and a crumble) this was disappointing! Moving back to the lounge the bill we initially paid was for another party and because of this mix-up we had to get a refund. Overall ok food but dreadful service through delays and being vastly overcharged. Won't rush back as there are other places in Largs that are a more professional in there customer service.

The place is all a bit old fashioned or characterful, depending on your personal view. The menu on the whole is good value and they serve great steaks which are of course at a premium. I had the hot prawns to start which I was a little disapointed with as they didn't live up to the picture in my mind, they were small prawns in a sauce in a bowl I was expecting larger and perhaps grilled, but they tasted great. The steak was amazing and the wine was great. The whole evening was set off by fantastic service from our waitress. I would have given 5 out of 5 if it were not for my disappointment with the prawns. Will definitely go back.

We came here as a last meal of our holiday and to celebrate birthdays in the group. We were a large group and so were told that the could accommodate us but we would need to be finished before the next dinner service. We were only going to have a main course anyway so didn't mind we had a deadline. Despite the fact they would need the tables back to reset we were not hurried or rushed and their professional efficiency was more than enough as I know from experience it's hard to serve large tables without someone's food being last and the rest cooling down whilst people wait. The menu has a lot of local specials and a couple of selections each of fish, steak, meats and vegetation options. Unlike other restaurants who seem to offer everything they can imagine the selection here is well thought out so doesn't need to be over the top. The food is fresh and local so the quality is high as well. They were even willing to ensure my salmon was cooked thoroughly because I'm pregnant and some restaurants will do teriyaki salmon only partially cooked. It was excellent and not a problem for them at all. Finally the restaurant is beautiful and has stunning views across the water with large windows letting in the summer evening light. Altogether I cannot recommend the hotel restaurant enough and if you're visiting Largs I suggest you go in. If I could score more than 5 I would have done. Well done everyone there for a brilliant end to our break in Scotland.

It's certainly not the cheapest place to eat at but over all it was worth it. The dining room is fairly small and looks a bit dated, needs a wee bit of TLC, the view if you get a window table overlooking the firth of clyde with cumbrae and arran in the disdtance at sunset is amazing and another reason to go. The staff were very welcoming and friendly though on the night we went it was very busy and they could have used some help. Four of us meet up as many times during the course of the year as we can for a catch up and lunch. Unfortunately a local Pub we used to go to closed down at the end of September so we were left with not knowing when to go for our lunch! Prior to going over to Largs I checked out a few places on TripAdvisor looking for favourable reviews. I am delighted to say that we decided to go to The Three Reasons Pub for our lunch yesterday. What a find this was. We were stunned to see just how busy the place was. We had a short wait before getting a table. Their menu has many very tasty looking dishes on it and it was hard to decide just what to have to eat! 3 of us opted for Prawn Cocktail as a starter and 1 decided on the Chicken Pakora. What a decent portion of Prawn Cocktail no shortage of prawns and the Chicken Pakora was equally as good . We all enjoyed. What was very appealing was the fact that for main course you could have a small portion or a normal portion this to me is a winner. 2 of us had the lovely Lasagne with another having Macaroni Cheese and lastly Fish and Chips. The food was all very well priced and we thought great value for money. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and this was all washed down with a couple of bottles of wine which we shared between the 4 of us. Full marks in every way for The Three Seasons, the atmosphere was just so nice with lovely background music, the food and service were absolutely spot on. We could not fault a thing. I am very pleased to say that the toilets were absolutely spotless. What a find this was and we are already planning our next outing for lunch!! We all would highly recommend this place for a meal when you are visiting Largs as we were, you MOST CERTAINLY WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Keep up the good work and we will look forward to seeing you next month.

We were a bit disappointed with our visit here. Apart from one lovely waitress the staff weren’t very attentive. Two of the younger staff were messing about behind the bar rather than serving customers. The food wasn’t the quality you would expect for the price- We had a small steak and chips with no veg and an open seafood lasagne which was really bitter.
