After a hill stomp with the dog, nipped in for a lovely ice cold Pilsner shandy (driving) & some pub grub in the beer garden. The steak & ale pie, baby tatties with carrots & green beans were tremendous. Great value for money, full plate, cooked with pride therefore I personally, highly recommend The Village Inn, Fairlie 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

We visited here for Dinner on two nights -27/05/24 and 29/05/24. There were three of us on each occasion and one was a vegan. As we had our dog with us we had to eat in the bar but there is a magnificent dining area within this pub. On both occasions the food was excellent and the service both friendly and efficient. We would highly recommend this pub.

We rented a house in Fairlie for a family get together and decided to book dinner here on a Saturday evening. The food was typical pub food bur we were all quite satisfied with what we chose. Service was good considering it was quite busy. This is not fine dining but they do good, wholesome food at very reasonable prices. Well worth a visit.

We went there for a family meal, there were seven of us, we had starters that were good. Between us 3 had fish and chips, 1 has a burger, 1 has a lasagne and 2 had a pasta. All the meals had dried out, they had been on the hot plate too long. None of us finished our meals. The pub was very busy and there was only three members of staff which I think was the problem. We will not return

We were meeting friends who live further down the coast but have visited the village inn before and had suggested here for our lunch. We had visited just after opening time so it wasn’t particularly busy. We were able to choose a nice table and sat and waited for friends. While we waited we were approached by a friendly member of staff who took our drinks order and the drinks arrived promptly. When our friends arrived again drinks arrived promptly and our orders were taken. The food arrived and was piping hot. We all had different mains and can’t complain about portion size! Would recommend if you are in fairlie to give them a visit. Premises (and toilets) were clean, food was delicious, staff were very pleasant and friendly menu has all the usual suspects. This was our third visit to The Village Inn, and it’s a firm family favourite, having stumbled across it on a visit to Fairlie in April 2022. The food is really excellent. We had a Vegan curry on our first visit (specials board depending), and the Vegan burger on our last two stops, which is handcrafted and portions aplenty. Their apple pie (with vegan ice cream!) for is a triumph. The staff couldn’t be more helpful in explaining the menu, and they even had soy milk for coffees too! The restaurant area is really spacious and relaxing, with lovey maritime decor and natural lighting. We highly recommend.

Well if carlsberg did christmas dinners lol! Came for Christmas Dinner yesterday and was totally blown away, food quality and portions were fantastic, attention to detail and service spot on! Been going out for Christmas Dinner for over 10 years now to various hotels and this has been the best by far! Even the wee added touch of the owner thanking everyone for coming during our meal was so lovely. Just a shame we didn't realise years ago they were open and hosted Christmas day dinner. Won't be going anywhere else from now on, it was like a real good home made Christmas Dinner with a real homely feel. Booked again for next year on our way out! Thank you all so much for everything and hope you all got a bit of time to yourselves later to enjoy some of the day!

Excellent restaurant visited twice with the intention of going again before we leave. We stayed at Coalhill so Fairlie is about a 15 minute drive away. This was one of the best restaurants we ate at. Very friendly staff. Good selection of drinks including a Scottish cider which was really nice. Starters we had were deep fried brie wedges and king prawns with chorizo and chilli - both were really nice and tasty. Mains we had chicken strips with sweet chilli dip. Steak and ale pie, scampi all very tasty. Desserts sticky toffee pudding and cookies and cream cheesecake which was oreo based again very nice I would definitely recommend eating here

We stumbled upon the Village Inn while we had a short stopover in the Kelburn campsite. The pub is an easy 20 minutes walk from the estate down quite country roads. We needed a quick dinner and a few pints to remedy a long, wet drive - and this place ticket all the boxes! It's also dog-friendly (providing you sit in the bar). The chicken and tarragon pie I had was honestly great restaurant quality, and my partner had some delicious tortellini. The whole time the bar staff were super attentive, kind and paid so much fuss to our dog that she didn't want to leave! Would 100% recommend for anyone looking for a cosy bar supper. The locals were also incredibly friendly, and even bought us a round of drinks! Special nod to the bar man who made us feel so at home.

Such a lovely welcome from Brian the owner who quite obviously puts his heart and soul into the place. Food was plentiful and well cooked. Wish I'd tried the special rather than the safe option of Scampi. Would have loved it to be homemade tartar sauce. Jaffa cake and fudge cake absolutely brilliant!
