Horrible experience my change was thrown into my hand by a disrespectful barmaid horrible person shouldn't be in hospitality Shiuts at 8 waste of time

We usually go to the three reasons pub but it was really busy so they sent us to their 'sister' pub in the George Hotel, just round the corner. Food was good. So tasty having sausages in the steak pie. I just stuck to the small portion, which is still a decent sized portion. We were meeting with family. It was a wild, wet & windy day in Largs and the lounge was cozy & welcoming.

Excellent pub with great staff. I didn't eat but the food looked delicious.

It was quite busy yet the staff were polite and friendly and brought the food quickly and the food was good, well worth a try we will certainly go back the next time we are in largs..

Great place for food. Prices are good and good is brilliant. Service is good and quick and food is served really quickly as well. Good for kids as well and options of small or large plates is also a bonus.

Been a while since I was last in the George. I met up with my cousin, a bit of a reunion. The staff were lovely, service was prompt and it was a good and calm atmosphere. We will return, because this place has turned a corner, for the better.

Lovely wee place and staff are so friendly. The fish batter had some herbs in it which is a nice way to spruce up a classic and tasted excellent 👍👍👍

Had to wait 35 minutes for food. Also supposed large portion of scampi was no bigger than the small portion.

We enjoyed a very tasty lunch here on Sunday. Chicken and black pudding with pepper sauce, I was delighted to find it came with lovely fresh vegetables. The added bonus was that lots of dishes came in a small and large portion. The small portion was plenty.

We stopped in for a couple if drinks and bar snacks. Had the best Stornoway Black pudding tempura special- phenomenal

My partner and I were in for dinner tonight Jan 8th 2024. What a great wee place. Staff very friendly and service good. Mac n cheese and lasagna very tasty. Definitely recommend this fab little pub/ lounge.

Food was great the first time. Went again a few days later the kitchen had closed due to being undermanned in the kitchen. So that was a disappointment.but really enjoyed the food 2st time around.

A great place to come if you're looking for somewhere to eat in Largs around lunchtime. Baked Potato with Cheese and Red Onion, I'd highly recommend.

Had lunch many times over the years but found the fish has become of a poor quality mostly batter and not worth the money. The George is in need of a refurbishment The place is over priced and not value for money and most people were sitting with jackets on as it was cold and uncomfortable. This place has gone down hill slowly over the years will not return. Waited 40 minutes to be served and not even a sorry for the delay.

Great homemade pub grub at wetherspoons prices, staff are so chatty and friendly and manager has a cracking personality and sense of humour! Is busy a lot of the time especially with food so need to be a bit patient sometimes but well worth it! Amazing banter, 5 stars will be back 😊 West coast IPA on tap 👌

Traditional pub with a god selection off food at reasonable prices, and a big plus is that it has a dog friendly area, service was great from very nice friendly staff.

Used to enjoy a visit to the George hotel in Largs but sadly it has gone rapidly downhill of late. The so called manageress is absolutely rude and should not be dealing with customers who are in to spend there hard earned money. Can't see it surviving much longer with her attitude. 😡

Family visit for lunch, everyone enjoyed their food. Steak pie (ordered small portion) was excellent and plenty food on the plate. Chilli appeared home made and was very good. Viking burger and toastie also very good. Excellent value £42 for 4 main courses, definitely be back. Only one comment, only 3 staff and had to queue to order food and drinks, pub was around half full.

It looked a wee bit tired from the outside but both our meals were delicious. Lasagna with garlic bread and fish and chips, excellent 👌

Traditional Scottish welcome is the rule as one enters this no strings traditional pub.From the moment we entered we were made welcome by not only the staff,but the locals as well.The young lady in charge was chatty and informative as she catered to our needs.Its always helpful to us tourists if one can dwean useful local snippets.The food and drink were well priced.

I was surprised with the place no much to look at from the outside decor was abit dated apart from that reasonable priced menu food was good,good plate for food the town yound barmaid couldn't do enough even when they wre under pressure

Great place to go for a pint regularbsqwr lovley people. The staff are amazing, they work hard and even l listen to you whenever your looking down on your glass, i livwd the lassies that wer there. Very kind people than you staff!!!!!

Nice little family friendly venue was there for lunch @12 on a weekday No to busy as the lunch service starts @12. Chicken and black pudding dish is a must macaroni is delicious. 40 pounds for 3 main courses and 3 drinks excellent value for money. Highly recommended 👌 👍

Terrible bar person, walked out ,won't be back,it should get no star

Our 3rd visit on 18th July 2023 for lunch. Ordered small portions of lasagna and steak pie with 2 drinks. Theyvwere really quite large portions and food was hot and freshly cooked. Bill was under £25 including drinks. We return here everytime we visit Largs mainly due to the lovely staff. 2 young women on service for the drinks at bar and food orders and service. They did this cheerfully and efficiently taking time to chat although it was very busy, even at 2pm. Well done girls! You deserve recognition for going above and beyond and we will definitely be back.

Went with family this pub is lovely the staff are very friendly and the food is delicious I had a fish and chips and my parents had a burger and they said it was delicious. Such a lovely welcoming pub. Will definitely be back.

Went for lunch, I had the biggest plate of fish and chips you've ever seen, it was lovely. The service was very good

I’ve visited this premises with family, twice over the past week. The premises has a nice warm ambiance, and the staff are friendly and attentive. I cannot fault the food - everything we’ve had has been beautifully presented, and delicious. Empty plates every time!! Last week we had a short wait for our main, but it was worth the wait when it arrived, so no complaints. The staff however, had taken note of the wait themselves, and deducted the cost of one dessert for the bill - which was unnecessary, but a lovely and much appreciated gesture. We will definitely be back! Just a wee note - the small plates are an excellent portion size for the average eater.

Couldn't have been welcomed more warmly! Jodie looked after us for the evening, and was absolutely delightful, helpful, friendly, and made us feel valued customers. We had starters and mains, and left absolutely full - no chance of a pudding. There was a good choice of food, mostly the usual pub-grub fayre, a few not so regular additions, and definitely a cut above a Wetherspoons! The steak and sausage pie was absolutely delicious, all good meat, no chunks of gristle. I had the "special" - which that day was a big bowl of chips, covered with haggis, pepper sauce and melted cheese. Ok, it certainly wouldn't win awards for looks, but I really enjoyed it. With great food, quick service, and the friendliest staff, I'd be happy to recommend The George.

This was our second visit and we had the lasagna and the battered haddock. Both were the small portion but it was a good size and would suit most people. Beautifully presented, hot and tasty. Also very good value for the price. The staff were two young women, both very friendly and efficient and created a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Popped in for some lunch whilst on a wee jaunt to Largs today. I had the Nachos and cheese with haggis for a starter. Lovely home made nachos with a lovely seasoned haggis on top. Very nice. I had a bacon cheeseburger for my main. The burger was a good size, lovely and juicy and full of flavour. The bacon was perfectly cooked, nice and crispy. The chips could have been cooked a little bit longer but that is just a personal preference. The young guy who served me was very polite and friendly. All in all it was a great experience. The only downside was that it was freezing inside but it was a cold day so i'll let them off :)

Staff were brilliant it was a very busy place and they were nonstop, didn't have to wait too long for our food and it was lovely, they do smaller portions as well as a kids menu so ideal for those with a smaller appetite.

First time in the George, came for steak pie, requested potatoes and chips with mines, was not disappointed. My plate cleared it was delicious .. The service from all staff was friendly, fast, and Funny, made my day.. X

what a lovely meal we had- piping hot, with lots of perfectly cooked vegetables and the chicken was cooked to perfection. Great value too and the service was excellent depute beung very short staffed. Will definitely be back soon .
