Just love this wee pub, folk band playing on a Wednesday afternoon and decent musicians too. I had the benefit of good company 😌

Moved to Largs recently. Visited on Saturday with my sisters for the live music. Left immediately due to the strong smell of urine didn’t even make it to the bar as smell was so overwhelming. Reading previous reviews this looks like a longstanding issue with this pubs. Such a shame as had a fantastic night in it before Christmas and thought this problem had been sorted 😩

Live music in a friendly room, great atmosphere and evening

Always has fruit flies and too much trouble at night time. Owner only cares if you spend money there all day or else he keeps the riff raff in’s wouldn’t recommend and the only good ting at times are the bands that play for entertainment. Most bar staff have been friendly and owner treats them badly. Better places nearby.

What a nice warm and friendly wee pub. Fresh and clean and the staff are great. A jazz trio on when we were on when we were in and they were great too. Good fun.

Arrived for the weekend on Friday night and came across this fab pub. Staff and clientele made us very welcome. Karaoke , Deville and Ian Jenkins Combo all well worth seeing.Camilla and staff -excellent service and informative. Arrived Friday left Sunday. Well worth the visit to Largs. Will be back . Thank you

Great night fantastic atmosphere

Wonderful pub and staff but VERY disappointed when going to the ladies toilets. The entire toilet walls, door etc was covered in mould. Not only does it look awful but it's very unhealthy.

Lovely bar and staff. Spider webs and dead spiders in the toilets kind of killed the visit. Do they actually have a CLEANER. If so suggest getting a new one.

Very relaxing atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Also has live entertainment five days a week.

Super friendly bar in centre of Largs, I was down in the area on business for a few days and popped in twice - excellent and friendly staff that knew there job and how to treat customers. First night I was there football was on and the bar area was busy but very well managed, no problems whatsoever. I dropped in again the next evening and the lady working the bar remembered my drink and chatted away about the local area. I would certainly recommend and will drop in again on my next visit to Largs.

Honestly, think I burst my ear drum after sitting here for 10mins. The volume is way off for the size of the room and is completely dangerous. Do you guys do a proper sound check?

Smelliest Gents toilets on the planet!!! OMG DISGUSTING!! Do Not enter this SMELL.

We came here for a family get together. I had the eggs benedict which were rock solid poached eggs. When the eggs are the main component of the dish it’s really important they are right! It wasn’t just mine, 4 others in our group also had solid eggs. The decor is nice. It’s spacious We are local and won’t be rushing back for the food.

Food excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was lovely, view of road not so much but we didn't upgrade to a sea view as once downstairs we could see it from the restaurant /bar

We went along especially for the live music and weren't disappointed by the magnificent Kirsty. Great voice and variety of music. Bar staff (Chelley) were great.

Great atmosphere when we visited.

Good wee bar which regularly has live music, karaoke, etc. Prices are reasonable, and there's a snug you can move to if the singing is not ro your taste.

Could not fault Staff were fab. Live music by the band Simply October great night had by all. Gents toilets could certainly do with a refurb.

Was here to see The Best Bad Influence play live. The bar staff kept smiles on their faces and coped very well with the large number of punters all trying to get served at the same time. The band was great, as usual, and filled the bijou dance floor time and again. The only thing is the place was like a sauna - literally. The heat was oppressive and because everyone was sweating so much the humidity made the place stifling. All that said: it was a fine wee place and we'll happily come back for more

The Waterside is a roomy and tidy town centre pub in the traditional style. On a Monday evening it was very quiet when we were in, with only a solitary bloke looking at his tablet computer. As such, there was no atmosphere other than some uninspiring music while the telly provided silent background company. Having said that, the service was good and I enjoyed a fine, crisp pint of Tennents. So, whereas I have marked this as average, I’m sure it would be much better when there are more people in. There is certainly nothing wrong with the pub and we would happily use it again.

Just went in for 1 drink with my wife have been to this wee pub before and it's always welcoming and the Barperson was very nice as well delivering our drinks to the table will be back when back in Largs.

So unorganised with the covid rules, no one on the door to great you just sit where ever you can find a table and order on app, table was very dirty, customers just using both doors to enter and leave the premises. One staff didn't even bother with a mask just pulled his clothing up and covered his mouth. Clearly under age drinkers never challenged for they ID. On a whole the place was dirty and very unorganised. Obviously we could not wait to finish our drinks and leave

Good family day out. Energetic walk enjoyed by all. Only thing was there was only 1 public toilet with long queues

we came here for a nice lunch as we were camping and weather wasn't the greatest so we wanted hot food the food was nice and reasonable , the staff weren't the cheariest but maybe having a busy day

What a horrible little man that owns this place, he couldn't spell hospitality if he tried, rude and obnoxious, we will never be back here again, shame but there's plenty of other choices in Largs, so best avoiding this we spend a lot of time in Largs so I will spend my money where its appreciated, RIP The Waterside.

Hmm!! This is Bath St Largs just off the main st,minutes walk from the Railway station. The Waterside is a lively bar. Tonight it was still new year and it was full of revellers looking for a good nights music. Thunder Road covers band filled that role very well. It was difficult getting served at the bar,it was do busy. It was cold and windy outside but stepping through the door anyone wearing glasses was instantly steamed up such was the hot atmosphere created by so many bodies. A huge selection of Beers and spirits is available at reasonable prices. So next time in Largs,the bar can be easily sought out. Worth a visit.

The Waterside is a well know pub in Largs for live music, karaoke etc and is no doubt a fun place when such activities are taking place. Outside of those occasions, and seeing this just as a pub however, the empty dance floor etc tend to make it seem like a working men’s club as opposed to a cosy local pub. That’s not to say that it’s not a good bar to come into for a couple of pints, and the young lady behind the bar was certainly charming, but from a style and decor perspective it really is a pretty ordinary pub .... until the music starts of course.

Owner is an impolite man who does not care for his customers and is rude to everyone who enters as I witnessed when I was visiting. He was extremely rude to us as we tried to put the TV on and was making out as if we wanted to steal it. Very unwelcoming and very drab. Owner not nice and assumed me and my friends were criminals.

Really nice atmosphere. There was a music session on the go while I was in ........ un-amplified . Possible to have a relaxing drink without sacrificing your hearing .... you could tune in and enjoy the tunes or focus o your conversation. I know they serve food and have been told that it is nice pub grub at a reasonable cost but I haven't personally tried it so cant really comment. All in all,really just a nice experience ...

Rude owner. Toilets are rotten. Someone was glassed and owner did nothing, so I ended up having to phone police. He expected customers to deal with the situation whilst he ignored it. Does not use safety glass.

Stumbled in by chance this evening on the way back to the B&B... It was 'open mic' so we heard some great live music... A quaint Scottish pub with a friendly crowd, service and reasonable prices. 👍👍👍

As frequent visitors from Canada, we love this pub for the entertainment and atmosphere. Had a great night on New Years Eve with the band Thunder Road from Kilbarchan and made many new friends. Good food, friendly staff and everyone made us so welcome. Looking forward to our return soon. Jim and Marlene

Located right in the heart of Largs town Center, the Waterside is a real blink and you miss it type place, yet is probably the best traditional bar in Largs. Located at the bottom of Largs Main Street (down the street once you pass John Menzies and The Bank of Scotland) its a great pub that is good to sit in for a beer or go for something to eat. I visited one Saturday with my 5 year old daughter who can be something of a fussy eater, but I heard the portions were large and VERY cheap in the Waterside, with a good kids menu. For our meal I ordered the BBQ Burger for myself and the Mac n chips for my daughter. Food was freshly prepared in no time and my daughter (who can be a bit of a nightmare when out in restaurants) cleared her plate without needing to be told, and when we left even asked if we could go there again. Including drinks (a pint of real ale for me and a fruit shoot for my daughter) our lunch came to just over £12. Will most certainly be back again in future.
