Before you order any food, just check the catering staff will stay longer enough. I booked a table here on a Friday evening at 7pm. It's like a large hall with kitchen tables & chairs with a bar at one end. The staff were welcoming. I ordered from a limited menu and the food was good and value for the money. Before 8pm I tried to order a sweet only to be told the catering had gone home! I know I was the only one in the pub (some sat outside), but it would've been nice to be informed the staff were leaving early.

Having been let down by Meldrums Restaurant we tried our luck at the Ceres Inn for dinner. The pub was jammed with locals when we arrived but the owner was very welcoming and with a bit of seat and table shuffling managed to fit us in. We had a lovely fish and chips dinner sitting in front of the wood burner fire. The Ceres Inn is a typical historic village pub with lots of atmosphere. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area.

Had a lovely dinner for 2 on our first night in our holiday cottage. Pub just along the road. One chicken burger, one halloumi burger with a pint of cider and a pint of Deuchers. Small pub serving food 7.30 and we were lucky to get last table. Lovely staff.

Visited here tonight for a meal, I booked a table earlier in the week. It was a very warm greeting when we entered the Inn and asked immediately what we would like to drink. Menu has a wide choice of food at reasonable prices. Freshly battered haddock ordered by my friend, and he was delighted with the choice. Homemade steak pie with mashed potatoes, very tender and enjoyable. Fresh cream meringue nest with strawberries, sauce, and ice cream .......gorgeous. As was the sticky toffee pudding. Choice of cream, ice cream, or custard. Service was attentive and pleasant. Delighted we chose Ceres Inn. Great atmosphere in a lovely village. Cannot wait for my next visit. Thank you.

My magnificent partner and I returned the to the village of Ceres. We saw the Ceres Inn was doing takeaway and ordered two fish suppers. We ordered for collection inside a 15 minute window. Collected from the pub on time. When returned to Holiday home with the suppers we were very pleased with our portions both in size and quality. Felt like good value for money served up by friendly staff.

Visited here on Friday the 15th of October. Friendly enough owner and barman. We had our 2 golden retrievers with us as it is suppose to be a dog friendly pub. Unfortunately did not find this To be the case. Owner just kept Saying some people don't like dogs When eating. Well don't come to a Supposedly dog friendly pub. It Either is or it is not. We checked Before we stayed in ceres. Very Disappointing as only pub there.

Reserved a table - upon arrival we were shown to our table & we waited 15 minutes for a menu - eventually gave up and went inside to ask for one. Had to go inside again to order. They said it would take 15 minutes for a burger - it was closer to an hour! The boy from the kitchen eventually came out and dropped the boxes on our table. Now you can’t expect much for a £10 burger and chips however the bun was rock hard (microwaved?) and burger was bland. Staff were somewhat apologetic. Outside is decent for drinks however if you are looking for pub grub look elsewhere.

We were spending a lot weekend in Ceres and hadn't been to a pub for nearly 18 months. This pub was just what we needed. Dog friendly, Covid safe, and friendly. Served a beer I never heard of, but really liked called the Fifie from Ovenstone. We both are, me a burger, my Partner had a Scotch egg. We enjoyed our meal, the other customers and the staff 👍🏾

We went to Ceres Inn for an evening meal. Food was good even with the limited menu. But the attitude of the lady behind the bar who was also the waitress was rude and it was as if she didn't want to be there or have us there. So we had had food and left never to return.

We were looking for lunch in Ceres, and my husband walked into this pub, to be followed in by a very cross man who told him that they weren't open. Later, on looking at the opening times (in small print) outside, we could see that they don't open until 4pm on Friday. So why didn't the chap have the courtesy to say so? We wouldn't go in now even when they're open! By the way, we had a very enjoyable lunch at the friendly Folk Museum...

On such a horrible day it was a joy to step inside this small inn. We had tomato, chilli and coconut soup with a panini, side salad, crisps and homemade coleslaw all for under £9. Service was excellent from a very cheerful, polite girl. Will definitely return. Next time we will make sure we bring cash for a tip for the waitress!!!Thanks again.

We stayed in Ceres for a week and the Ceres Inn was the first stop off on the evening we arrived in the village. The pub was dog-friendly which is always helpful for us as we have two bassets. The welcome was warm on the Friday evening we went in. It is a small pub although it does have a largish pub garden adjacent to the building. The pub is currently only providing food on two days a week (Friday and Saturday), although the bar person did suggest they would be doing more days and we go into summer. The menu was limited but the quality of the food good.We only used the pub that one evening, not because there was anything wrong with it, only the lack of availability for food in the evening which would have been useful after days out on the road.

How disappointing... Went to the Ceres Inn to enquire whether they allowed dogs in the restaurant initially. The person in the bar (appeared to be the owner) didn't even have the common decency to turn off his hoover and I could barely hear him. I then asked if they would be showing the sport on the bar television only to be told that they did not have Sky Sports. I explained that they had a sign in the window saying they showed sport to which I got the response "oh yeah we've got BT Sport but I'm not putting it on. I'm going to have a band in instead". His tone and manner were so abrupt I would have no intention of bringing my family here, never mind my dog...!!!

Este pub solía ser un pub encantador pueblo pintoresco con propietarios agradable, sin duda ido cuesta abajo.

My wife and I had lunch here today.First impressions. Small pub, 5 tables set up for lunch. (dinner is served downstairs in the restaurant) similar to the pitlessie inn, but smaller.Meet and greet, worked well. We had a friendly welcome, shown to the table, menu's presented, soup choice explained and drinks order taken.Menu was quite restricted for lunch, but it was nice to see snacks available on a sunday. Usual fayre such as burgers, macaroni, soup, haddock and chips. We were told that the meat products came from the local ceres butcher, definitely a strong point. We chose, the french onion soup to start, followed by a mexican burger, and my wife asked for a bacon, brie and cranberry panini, that was not on the menu, but this was no problem to prepare.Service, was prompt with no delays. Only mistake that was made was to not put the 2nd glass of wine on the bill. Food, beautiful french onion soup with cheesy croutons and extra ciabatta. The burger came with salsa, cheese, jalapenos, creamy coleslaw, and chips. Nice spicy burger, and really good coleslaw, but the chips were of the standard catering variety. My wife really enjoyed her panini.Value. Excellent, 4 courses and 3 drinks for £30.Overall, would return, and thanks for a lovely simple lunch.

Common theme here. My girlfriend and I called at this cafe about a quarter of an hour before they were due to close at 4pm which in itself seems absurd for a tourist destination. At the time staff were already stacking chairs on the tables in one part of the tearoom. We were looking for a suitable place to sit and were directed ungraciously to another room where there were no tables available. Unfortunately, as it now appears a very nice couple informed us that they were leaving and we could have their table. As I went to order at the counter they told my girlfriend that their coffee had been somewhat cool. Not having been informed that it was table service I went to the counter to order and was told that our coffees would be served in takeaway cups. When I queried this I was rudely informed by the older blonde woman with the pony tail that it was because they were about to close. They did seem happy enough to take my money however. The cakes were good but that was the only good news. Before we were finished our coffees the staff started to clear up around about us. Two foreign girls were encouraged ungraciously to leave. The aforementioned woman then came through and informed us incorrectly that we had already been asked to leave and we should go. When advised that we had not quite finished our coffees we were told in no uncertain manner to take them with us. This “lady” has no place serving the public in any capacity far less in a service industry. If she is an employee then the owners would be well advised to dispense with her services as she is the worst possible advert for their business. We are local and not only will we NEVER be back but we will advise ALL our friends not to go there under any circumstances.

I've reviewed his place a few times, and it changed based on the experience. Today, the experience was godawful, absolutely awful. The food and drink are good, but the service can be, and was today, terrible. The staff treat customers like crap, maybe because it's somewhere that always gets custom, so they don't need to bother being polite, or kind, or courteous in any way. Really bad, honestly, not sure I'll bother again. Also, mad expensive for where it is. There's no 'view'that people are going on about, it's basically the Abbey, there's are 1000 churches in the country, and this ain't the best one by any means. Needs a ton of work, probably a complete staff replacement.
