Good atmosphere and location for shops and theatre.

Great place to sit and watch the world go by. I cycled here (around 7 miles) because it is better than the local pub 🍻 where I live. I like that you can order from the App, and get stuff brought to your table. Beats queuing at the bar. Food is good, and there is something to suit everyone.

Breakfast was amazing this morning, American breakfast 😋 and the bottomless coffee ☕️ is great

Went for food, but was fined for parking infront of the pub. No clear signage and nobody told us anything about the parking. I don’t know if there’s a machine/device to register your cars plate for parking, but I saw nothing. Awful experience! Would never come back again if this is not resolved as I don’t wanna pay the parking fine and nobody should have to be in the same situation.

The room was bad no hot water for a shower and in the taps ,bed wasnt comfy and too high to get onto especially if your disabled. The meals were good, thats the only thing i could say about the place ,i will never book a room there again with the bad experience we had

Food was burnt. App wouldn’t work and charged us twice for one order. Service was so slow. Waited over an hour for our meal. Had plans after it, which we had to cancel. Just not really ideal.

The quality of the food for the price was quite unexpected: excellent. I live in France - it's not french, but I can't spend three hours eating and I can't pay Michelin star prices. Food is subjective, but from the point of view of someone who has worked in the hospitality industry for 20 years in France, I'm 100% happy here. There's a great friendly team working here. The service is however "high tech." So you either order on their app with your table number or at the counter directly. One can't expect traditional table service with dinner at 11£ drink included. Best value in a very pleasant, very social ambiance - the place is packed every evening.

It's my local Wetherspoons, always good for brecki's 😏 Whether it's a roll, or full breakfast, an the matter of fact, you get unlimited free latté (tea's) aka hot and cold drinks included. But i'm definitely going to try the "Steak'on'Tuesday" deal 😏👍 But the "Fish'on'Friday" deal is always good 😏👍

The closest I got to the Golden Acorn was the bus station in Glenrothes 😆 🤣 😂 If its as good as the last time I was there then it gets a big 👍 from me.

We would definitely recommend the food. All the staff were professional, helpful and available. I can personally recommend the chicken tikka masala, delish, just don't have a starter, it was so filling.

Came to the order the usual Sunday breakfast. At 0900hrs still waiting at 1020hrs no sign complained twice spoke with manager. Said he would sort it refused to give his name for review and that he could not refund us. Appoling service. Sunday 4th August 2024. Coffee from machine always cold. (Latte). SENIOR MANAGEMENTManagement need to address this.

Went for 2 nights and came down with food poisoning the hotel stay was good but the food wasent

Went to this pub for lunch parked at front, was going to eat outside because we had small dog with us, went in gave them number plate of car parked at front we were then told no dogs in pub which we accept then they said no dogs allowed outside either on their land, which was shocking. No signs said this to us verbally, then sat outside to discuss where to go due to this draconian rule, which did not apply in Dundee JDW, nevertheless left to receive a parking ticket for 75.00 from their car park company.

This is our local Wetherspoons and never fails to bring a smile. The food is as good as it is on the day. The atmosphere is as you need it to be and the staff are just lovely.

Disappointed to receive a parking fine for having breakfast there one morning. Signage for parking not made clear when entering building and nobody informed me off parking fees when ordering food. Needless to say I won't be paying the fee for parking. Otherwise a nice place to visit.

Had a steak last night it was absolutely disgusting the pepper sauce was thick and lumpy, mashed potato dry and not nice . My friend had chilli chicken which was also poor quality. Waitress was scruffy looking. I get it's cheap but this is unacceptable my friend and I have been unwell since eating there yesterday. Never thought to take photos . Certainly won't be back

Dry day thought of going for a drink sitting outside but told by staff members that my well behaved small dog lying down outside was not allowed to be Wetherspoons outside. So won’t be back - three other tables surrounding is. Couldn’t believe this stupid rule

Park in car park to eat at spoons, get fined for parking in said car park for £75 all because I didn’t on do you had to put your registration on a screen, won’t be eating here again if I can’t park my car in spoons car park to eat at spoons car park it makes no sense No even anything on the form to help me try to explain what happened. Now because I was crashed into recently I don’t even own that car anymore and need to struggle to pay for a new car plus this ticket

Love it or loath it, you can't beat Spoons for a value for money meal. I come in whenever I'm in town and it never disappoints. Been driving all day and just needed a good hot meal. Fam had bangers and mash and I had steak and kidney pudding. Hits the spot. Decent selection of draught beers too! Ordering at the bar is a bit haphazard as the bar staff are usually very busy and can get distracted But we got there in the end.

A pub frequented by myself during college semesters. Cheap drink with cheap food. The drink is good, and the food is what you expect for the price and establishment. Wetherspoons should always be consistent throughout the country. Superb

Breakfast was freezing and was asked to cover up my celtic strip on a Sunday morning on a non match day, I've been in loads of times on non match days and never had an issue wearing my celtic colours.

Had a really good night in here with my wife and parents. The drinks were cheap and the service was good. We also stayed the night in the hotel which was decent as well. Huge comfy bed and decent facilities.

It's wetherspoons so I wouldn't go in on a point of principle. It looked a bit jaded from the outside and few 'odd' characters hanging around outside. Not one for the tourists I suspect.

Camera in the men’s toilets above the urinals. Do not come here. This is against human rights and should now be a thing. Get rid of the things

Breakfast was disgusting. Burnt potato scones . Cold burnt toast . Inedible egg couldn't even cut it . Cold beans . Burnt bacon and to cap it all staff are horrible more or less had our breakfastd thrown at us

Nice friendly place to get a bite to eat prices on food and drink very reasonable. Staff very efficient, although I did ask if they had brown sauce last visit and instead of going and getting it they told me to walk to the other side of the bar and it should be there.

It's Wotherspoons, you know what your getting. There's Plenty selection of beers, ciders, wines n spirits. Busy on the Friday evening when we went, but there's no other bars nearby.

A Good Witherspoon and was busy when we visited. Is really the only bar around this area, so expect all sorts of clientele.

Pretty poor for a Weatherspoons. Not a single draught cask ale was available when we went. Was told they were 'out of stock'. Had to drink some fizzy lager out of a bottle. On a more positive note, the Katsu curry was excellent.

SOOOO. I was casually eating my lovely dinner (Fish and chips) Until i walked past the bathroom and heard screaming and someone puking! I felt scared. Sounded like 2 teenage boys. Unacceptable

Waited 40 mins for the meal, it was frozen fish don't know how many times it was fried but it was burnt beyond recognition absolutely disgusting

First visit here and very impressed. The service was brilliant with friendly staff who were very attentive. Reasonable meals and drinks included. This establishment also has b & b. As I was traveling by bus it’s situated right next to the bus station.

Amazing experience. First time there with my family. Staff were amazing with our child who has ASD & ADHD. First time in forever that my family has managed to go out and for our kid to sit through a whole meal without wanting to get up and leave halfway through. Felt really friendly and food went down a treat. I had the medium rare steak meal, our child had a cheeseburger meal & my husband had a medium steak meal. It was delicious!! The drinks were lovely too. Myself, my husband and our child bought another customer a meal without his knowledge & the staff member Matthew (who was wearing a black vans tshirt) was very amazing to cater for this to of happened. He asked the customer who had a hot drink the whole time we were there so we wanted to do a good deed and buy him something warm and filling to eat. Matthew went over and asked the man if he would like a pizza or burger and the man choose a pizza (good choice, I hope he enjoyed it) and a nice cup of tea. Thank you to Matthew and the Staff at The Golden Acorn for just being all round amazing!! We will be back.

Not going back, had to wait until the rest of the group that I was with had finished until I got my meal, got charged £3 above what everyone else paid.

Visited as a group. Someone asked for Scampi and fish and chips arrived. The fish was taken back and then the manager arrived saying it would cost an extra £3 for the scampi. This was due to their error at the bar. The tone used wasn't the nicest. The oil the fish and scampi is cooked in is also dirty.

pub grub at decent prices. started going regular now for a breakfast and also for tea with my son, a few times a month, as the food's not bad and the prices don't scalp you. Staff are always happy to help, nothing too much trouble.

The place was packed due to diners and customers in to watch the Scotland Rugby match. Staff coped well with the crowd, short wait at the bar, polite and efficient staff. Wish our Wspoons in England was run like this. Well done on the Ukrainian collection point, Bingo night and other events that were clearly posted for customers. One of the busiest and well run Spoons I've visited 👍

Just been here today for a meal with the xpress group there were 6 of us we got our meals 2 at a time ish everyone except 1 person was still waiting for hers while everyone else was eating look of food not very apertising then when the person who was still waiting her meal came chips fish and mushy peas she politely said sorry that's not mine I orderd scampi OK I take it back after another long wait and everyone had eaten a male member of staff said it be another £3 for scampi not our group leader had the receipt she paid the extra £3 I wouldt of so after more waiting meal final arrived so I ask him why did she have to pay the xtra 3 after waiting all this time were a group and should eat as a group not 1 person eating on their owe we are a group for mental health issues depression etc spoiled our vist won't be back our leader had receipt so was payed for scampi and his attitude stunk and I was poilte didt enjoy my meal after being sick I wish I'd not eaten as had upset stomach wast very hot didt look aperising but thought it would tasted better gravy was lumpy steak pudding afull and yes iv been here loads times so first time had a complain and my friend was upset but I knew she wouldt say anything hubby said he got the manager but I wast in charge or I would as a customer was kept waiting and we never eaten together not very good

The food is nice for the price and as usual with Weatherspoon you can get a good variety of beers. Service friendly but a bit overfamiliar. Atmosphere not great, we had some loud youngsters swearing. The decor is tired, tables worn and wobbly. If you are not bothered by the surroundings, the food is enjoyable.

Went here for breakfast today as the place I normally go to was closed. Got given a warm irn bru and when I asked if they had a cold one, they said they didn't and that the fridge was broken. One of the eggs wasn't cooked enough. I also had to justify wanting more butter as well.

Always stay here when I visit my mum so glad the elevator is working rooms are way better than other similar priced hotels 👍 the food is also great.

My friend Booked a hotel room for 2 Nights was meant to be 1 night then the night they were suppose to be staying they ended up having to travel back home due to there child being ill and ending up in hospital she then phoned the hotel who said she would get a refund as she already paid they said it would go into her bank 2 to 4 working days still nothing in her bank just for her to phone and get told she isn’t getting a refund will not be recommending this hotel

Not Happy visit, Be very careful, if you drive into the car park, register your car on a tablet somewhere in the restaurant .Ended up with one of these Euro carpark fines .Staff did not mention this to us on our visit either.Not Happy

Really good wetherspoons. Came on Friday night for quick bite to eat. Was really busy. Service was fast, food was good (usuall wetherspoons), atmosphere was good too. Can't complain.

Worst cheeseburger ever had, came out with no cheese, no sauce, pretty cold, you get better from any greasy joe's, careful of the carpark as well, £75 fine if u don't register
