Ordered after not ordering for quite a while and paid £10.60 for a fish supper and got if your lucky a handful of chips with it..

I had a fish supper and the batter for the fish was all soggy - so much so that it was impossible to hold up the fish and take a bite. Probably one of the worst fish suppers I've had. It was 2100 on Saturday night and I was staying a couple of miles away and so I couldn't just go back up with it. The next morning I used their 'contact us' facility on their website but didn't receive a reply. I'm guessing they're not the fussy about hearing negative reviews and doing something about it.

I used to go here for lunch as a kid at DHS. For 11 pence (that was old pennies so the equivalent of 4.5p) you got a bottle of Coke and a plate of chips. Very nutritious (or at least we thought so at the time). It's amazing to see it still going after many generations.

Coming back from a flight on Tuesday 30th Jan 2014 and tired - myself and my partner stopped at the brig in nethertown to buy our supper. So disappointing! I ordered lasagne and was told it would be five minutes to wait. Twenty minutes later I got it. This is what it was like - inedible. Need I say more about never going back

Ordered a kebab and l don’t have high standards but it was appalling. Bone dry meat, like old leather. Served with zero interest in making it look good or taste good

It's a chippy. Huge portions, traditionally greasy, good taste, very fast service. The staff are very friendly. Will definitely go again!

As a truck driver I was passing through, found this to be a cracking chip shop really good portion size,good value for money really quick service. Will definitely stop again the next time I am passing by. Highly recommend.

2 hours for delivery. Not the first time, should have known better. They don't care and always lie and say it's out for delivery.

It’s one of our go to delivery chip shops, great choice, not just chips. Always lovely and pretty quick delivery to boot.

If you think that the service and food at the netherton brig will be the same as the linburn one.... Think again. It most definitely is not. I have ordered quite a few times from linburn branch. The staff are always efficient, friendly and helpful at linburn. The netherton one, the staff were rude and inefficient and the service was slow. I usually order the same thing from linburn rd branch. I ordered the same menu item from netherton branch and the difference was obvious. From the container the food was served in to the quality of it, everything was different. Sloppy, soggy food that looked and tasted completely unappetising. Definitely won't be back to this branch.

Food can be hit or miss at times. We revisited after a year because the last order was wrong and the staff/chef couldn't understand the issue when called to highlight it. The menu refresh has been a benefit, but still arrives a little like it's been waiting a while to send out. Fresh but tepid. Not our go to when ordering out, but good enough to consider when our other places to eat are too busy.

Poor service! Tried to call and ask where my late delivery was but all the boy could say was do you mind holding! Which is ok once or twice. When I was speaking and heard him saying do you mind holding and I said no his reply was I wasn't speaking to you! Shocking customer service, I won't be ordering from there again. Which is a shame cause I have used them for years

Got home from work starving and decided to order a pizza from the Brig, Nethertown. It was a complete waste of money and my time. The pizza was completely burnt on the base and crust! looked like it was flung together and never checked at all. Had a couple slices and threw it in the bin. Called the takeaway and they wanted to come pick the pizza up so they could check and verify it before the refund, again more time wasted and no refund. Wont be back again.

I've ordered from the brig for years and always relatively happy with the food. I made an order tonight through dunfermline eats for a pizza and two desserts and I got a call to tell me that they didn't have either of those desserts in. Honestly the reason I made the order was for the desserts so I didn't really want the pizza any more, when I said this to the woman she got an attitude with me and said "your pizza is already being made" ??? Okay?? And I didn't know you weren't going to have half my order in? She went to confirm that she could cancel my order and when she came back she was nice as pie. I'm fully aware things happen and mistakes are made and that's fine, but I don't appreciate rudeness. Won't order from the brig again.

Bought fish and chips on 29/12/22, worst ever. Fish was so over fried it was dried out and chips were like cardboard. Couldn’t be any worse. Never buy there again

I asked for a haggis and I'm told "we have to put one in "as I'm in a hurry I pay for a fish only to be told we are waiting on chips!! Won't be back.

Ordered online collection of Cheesy nachos & Chicken pakora. So much cheese sauce on nachos it was oozing out of box and pakora was so overcooked you could have sculpted something out of it. Phoned and was advised can only issue refund or replace if food is returned, explained food was in bin and i had taken photographs. Made no difference and was advised to complain in 4 weeks when owner/manager is back at work. Unbelievably bad food which was matched by the customer service.

Ordered a take away from just eat just before 6pm on a Monday that cost just over 30 pound for 2 fish suppers, some wings and a single white pudding! (Bit on the expensive side but heyho) Was given a delivery time of 6:30/6:50pm. I was then informed by a family member that it is shut on a Monday so when I googled to find out there was a 2nd shop which I am assuming the order was accepted by. After it got to around 7pm I tried to phone the shop and not once was I answered. Both shops had showed the same phone number. Tried around 5 times as I had no idea if my order was coming or not as I had ordered from the shop that was addressed as being closed. I then had to email just eat to try and get a refund and after almost 2 hours a delivery driver chapped my door. I informed him that I had already requested a refund through just eat as it was supposed to have been delivered an hour before arrival so he took the food and headed off. I will say though, the delivery driver was very understanding and didn't argue. He accepted the fact is was late and was very polite about the situation. Disappointed as when I have popped into the shop and got food it has been very tasty! But after almost a 2 hour wait we had already decided it wasn't coming and had to make do with what we could find in the food cupboard!

This has to the worst chicken Pakora I've ever sampled (it was inedible). The coating on the chicken pieces looked and tasted like the batter this establishment dips most of its produce in...the batter had been coloured red. Chispy red fish batter on pakora??? Buyer beware...

Very generous portions. They do deep fried pizza suppers too. A little bit dear but well worth it. I definitely recommend it 👌

Collection of food which was reasonable but not as tasty as I remember. Quite a wait for food plus delivery people coming in and out without masks.

Ordered twice in a couple of weeks. Both orders were not delivered. I had to call several times to convince them that I haven't received the food. Ordered at 5:30 received after 9. So if you want to go hungry order from here. With 90+ restaurant home delivering now it is amazing how they're still in business.

After waiting n hour , the food arrived ! What a disappointment, opened box of chips to fins very cold and looked like scraps. Scampi was visibly unedible and cold . Kebab was poor .Chicken was chewy and not wholly cooked . I have been going to this establishment since the day it opened at least once a week . What has happened , nothing tastes the same !

Best fish supper in Dunfermline

We reserved online and were advised there was a wait much time of 40 minutes. After 65 minutes it still hasn’t arrived. The call was answered after a few rings then I was asked to hold but no one spoke for another 5 minutes. I was told my order was “ next up” but no apology was given for the lengthy wait. Our order eventually arrived after 90 minutes but I wish we hadn’t bothered. The breadcrumbs round the scampi were chewy, cold and inedible. They tasted like they’d been unsuccessfully reheated. The chips were also cold and the fish batter soggy. This was the first time we’ve ordered from The Brig but will definitely be the last.

Decent prices. Friendly staff. Good portion sizes. Would have been 5 stars, but they got carried away with the brown sauce last time.

Ordered a hoggie wrap with no salad & no sauce with a tub of garlic sauce when it arrived 2 hours later it was covered in chilli sauce so phoned them & wanted to talk to the manager but was too busy to come to the phone how convenient & the woman i spoke to said she would send another one out but I would have to pay delivery again when delivery was free in the first place for your mistake I don't think so,so much for customer's are always right defo won't be back waste of money in the bin.😡

Horrible fish - in fact, hardly any fish inside the batter, cold and greasy on delivery, chips with lots of black bits on them and the customer service is awful! Never again!

Last night( Sunday ) I put a order in for food to be delivered my order was 1meat feast pizza Calzone salad The full order was pizza calzone extra salad 2 portions of doner meat chips. We order the food at approximately 6.30 we didn’t get the food until approximately 8.45 Plus my grandson food wasn’t delivered my extra salad wasn’t delivered also the chips wasn’t delivered until I phoned up the brig. Your service was pathetic I also phoned to speak to the manager never got to speak to the manager. I have used the brig for years but after last night I won’t be using them again. You take peoples money but u dont deliver the food for well over an hour and half. When I called to query the staff were roud !!!

Priority seems to be given to dealing with deliveries rather than walk in customers. Slow service.

Hi guys take a bow another excellent delivery from The Brig. Fish fresh and well cooked chips tasty as always. You have a great team of delivery drivers they are always happy professional and helpful.

Collected order placed on web at allotted time. Fish was tepid, soggy and greasy. Don't know if facemasks are obligatory for food preparation but might be good PR nonetheless to have all staff wearing them.

Terrible customer service. Accepted payment and an online order which they couldn't fulfil. No small fish left. Give me a big fish cut in half? Nope! You'll have to pay extra for large fish that you don't want. No attempt to make good their mistake. Ordered for 7pm but had to stand outside for a further 25 mins adding insult to injury. I will NOT be back for a long time. One star given for the food.

This place is really going downhill. Placed an order online at 6.30 which gave a delivery time as 7.20. Still no sign of order at 7.45. Phoned shop and told my order had just left the shop!! Order eventually arrived at 8.10 (I only live 5 minutes drive from the shop). Delivery driver said she had delivered 2 others to Rosyth before me. Food was lukewarm and the chicken in the kebabs was burnt. Used to really enjoy the food from here but doubt I'll be returning anytime soon.

Ordered a kebab and veg pakora for delivery. The pakora was burnt black. When I called to complain the customer service was shocking, said that pakora changes colour after being fried. Never seen black pakora before, you could smell that it was burnt. Clearly no one checking the food that’s been sent out when I said that I intended to put a review in trip advisor I was told by staff that I couldn’t do that. Only ticked one because you have to tick something. Absolutely disgusting, do not order from The Brig unless you have no tastebuds.

Placed an order for 2 kebabs to be delivered. £21.54 with extra bread, salad and sauce, £2.50 delivery charge. Within minutes a call from the Brig to say they don't deliver to my village, could we collect? Agreed to do this (14 mile round trip not what we wanted after both working all day with an hours drive home ). Drove in and it was ready, had to ask about my my £2.50 delivery charge, was offered a bottle of fizzy juice. Not really happy but accepted it. Drove home and discovered there was no sauce! Called and after some debate with the young assistant, she asked me to check several times for the missing sauce, I was asked if I wanted to go back in for a fresh order! I refused and asked what they proposed to do about it, have been told I'll get 50% off my next order. Bit presumptuous! Really tasteless dry kebabs, won't be back any time soon I'm afraid:(

Ordered two kebabs for dinner last week, not been in for a while, over ten pounds for a large mixed kebab, wow, portion size was very small, chicken, donner and lamb very scarce indeed ,lamb had a lot of gristle attached,no tomato in the salad, although very tasty I was outraged at the portion size and will not be back, large,hmmm.

Good fish supper...over priced though.
