Coffee was warm half of it was on the saucer and the waitress never said sorry or replaced it ,Toast was also cold

Staff are lovely and friendly & extremely efficient, fab service and the best food and cakes around! 😋😍

Probably the worst fish ive had in a long while. Haddock greasy as hell, but tasty, batter was nice. Shame there wasn't more. Chips tasted like they're frozen, but have a slight chip shop taste to to them. Curry sauce is nice. Not one I'd return to in a hurry.

It's a place to have a quick dinner.

As always food was lovely and fresh! I had the spicy lentil soup and it was very nice and defo packed with a punch! Service wasn't as great as previous visits, possibly had a new server. Am sure my next visit this server will be excellent!

Fantastic food, great staff, busy place but you get what you wait for.

Disgusting attitude from staff arguing behind the sandwich station and rude to customers there is no need to talk to anyone like that under any circumstance. Food was good though

Visited Lorimers late afternoon for something to eat before the journey back to Skye. It was take away only and the food was very good with ample portions at a reasonable price. The staff are very good. Will definitely visit again.

Very rare that I post a review but after recent visits thought I'd share my thoughts on this one. The food is good and fairly priced, for what you pay cannot fault the food. Unfortunately the standard of service let's the place down, much to put disappointment as years ago I'd of held Lorimers among the best in town. Unfortunately many of the staff can't follow simple requests, often the order comes wrong in the restaurant. Pre ordering from the takeaway is a pointless effort too, finding yourself still standing there in excess of 20/30 minutes after your requested time. Then to add to that when you see the staff smoking with their aprons on out the back door doesn't exactly add a good thought towards the hygiene side of things. All in all, food is good price is fair but staff definitely need a few training days. Not all of them but definitely a few of them.

Nice server I got chicken curry couldn't get my teeth through the chicken . The nice young man offered something else , so fish an chips tiny we fish fresh very questionable 🤔 it was disgusting. I want my money back . Unless your a sequal wouldnt recommend.

This place was really busy when we popped in for lunch. We can see why. The food was amazing and very well priced. We left full. The staff were super friendly and very approachable It was buzzing in there from the minute we entered until we left. Even though it was pouring with rain outside, everyone was cheery inside.

Good food ,service very efficient. Will be back (again). Just a pity you stopped serving the cheese and pineapple salad, loved that.

On holiday we use this place every year. Well, worth a visit anytime you are in Inverness

When in as we had an hour to kill.. waited to be served so sat by ourselves.. put order in ..took about 20min for our drinks ..15min longer for our food ..when it arrived I order an egg baguette with side salad ..only for the salad to be inside the baguette under the egg mayo which I didn't want ..I explained that I didn't want that.. they took it off my final bill

Lorrimers is a great eater, we always love the breakfasts from here. Although we have been for high tea and was Brilliant. Also my other half picked me up gluten free sandwichs and they where brilliant, which to everyone else Sounds normal, but finding good gluten free sandwiches when taking away isnt an easy feat, but lorrimer knocked Out the park best gf sandwich ive had for take away.

I'm gluten free and the attention to cross contamination from the female member of staff was outstanding! Delicious sandwiches all round, new fav place to go in Inverness.

Food was mediocre. Got. Pot of tea and I had to return it twice, once because of the massive crack on the spout that made it go everywhere and then the second due to floaters in the tea, which on further inspection was mould in the tea pot. Staff did not seem very concerned.

Staff are an absolute joke! Shocking service. Definitely will not be back.

Food was okay. The place is run by teenagers just talking among themselves. Said it closes at 9 but all the chairs were up by 8:30 when we were still sitting in the restaurant.

Today walked many miles to have lunch here,was shown to my table and then waited more then ten minutes for someone to take my order They where not busy so in the end I left . I had a great meal here two years ago , and will not visit again.

Really bad food and service. Grumpiest guy ever serving. We could see the grill area from our waiting area, shambolic. Our food took 30 mins, disgusting and burnt along with cold chips. Just avoid, burnt sausage, thank goodness the dog was hungry. No apology for the wait, I'm pretty sure the staff just couldn't care less. Definitely a place to AVOID!!! I did complain on my way out and the incompetence from the waitress was don't tell me, tell the manager. Absolutel disgusting. Just go elsewhere!!!!!!!!! I think they forgot some of our order so chips etc were left in the fryer for too long as they prepared our forgotten order. First and last time at this place. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely the worst takeaway ever. How are you able to do burnt fried food that is disgusting and cold. Really bad, I've never had such bad food and service. I'm never returning and would recommend avoiding.

I ordered from the takeaway and made the mistake of not watching what they put in the box. The chips were great but not generous, the fish as so small 3 bites and it was over. Worst fish I’ve tasted for years. Don’t buy the Haddock.. waste of money.

Disappointing. I had a takeaway box of "Large Haddock Supper" for £11.95. Seems they have renamed Small, Medium and Large to Regular, Large and Jumbo. The fish was regular size in any honest chip shop. The fish was OK, some people might even like batter so thin that you can see large areas of fish through it. Each to their own, it was edible. The chips were pretty bad. Heavy, undercooked, no sign of finishing them in hot oil to crisp them up, and curiously tasteless. A lucky gull had one, the rest were for the bin, they would have been hard work to eat. When you charge a higher price than most, you need to get it right.

Passing restaurant, on the side of the road, therefore practical. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Food-wise, it’s not exceptional. It's not bad, but not super good either.

Restaurant not busy but had to wait 45 minutes for breakfast. Eventually arrives but food is lukewarm at best. Did not finish meal. Coffee was almost undrinkable. Very little sympathy from staff

Went for tea and we both had the standard haddock and chips which came with optional peas or coleslaw and tartare sauce. This was a perfectly adequate portion and the fish was beautifully cooked with a lovely crisp batter. The girl who served us was very pleasant and efficient. I would definitely recommend this for a quick and tasty meal.

Had the steak pie, the meat was lovely and tender with no fatty bits. Service was good and the food came quick.

Had a lovely experience while the restaurant was very quiet the server (rainbow hair) did her best to look busy. She was folding napkins. She even deep cleaned tables and scirting boards. Our meal was lovely she went above and beyond my food was a little cold after yapping for ages and she got me a fresh meal made. Oh and the best coffee I’ve ever had here too.

We got excellent service from Adam today at the takeaway ..funny chatty and nothing was to much trouble for him .Lormiers is a good all round wholesome food and takeaway

Went in today and ordered a portion of chips and 2 PLAIN baguettes and butter. Got my order and left. Got into my car and noticed that my PLAIN baguettes I requested were SALT AND PEPPRR baguettes. I went back in and as the girl who served me my baguettes was busy with other customers I explained to the person on the chippie side what had happened. All I got was an explanation that they are all baked on the same tray which they should not be because of allergies. I got nowhere with this person and on leaving overheard them saying "for f**k sake". I for one shall not darken their door again.

Lovely restaurant with a large menu and the food is always amazing

New review, service is quick, food quality is good along with decent serving sizes. Prices are average. Good menu covering all day. Kids menu available. Resteraunt plus chippy/deli/ice cream takeaway bar. Easy access, plenty of parking. A good all round takeaway/Resteraunt. Would recommend. 2018 -Not too bad although the quality of food has dropped a little over time. Friendly staff and not too long waits. An extensive menu covering main meals and chippy meals. Reasonably priced

Tonight my husband and myself popped in for our supper, we were welcomed by two very smiley and happy waitress! They were very efficient and took our orders fast and were obviously happy at their work! It’s great to see in particular young folks enjoying their work, it certainly made our experience fun and comfortable! Keep smiling girls!! Their both a credit to Lorimers

We waited for a long time, and we were advised that the kitchen is hectic. However, the guy next to us came in 10 minutes after us and he was served quickly. Then the food came out, it was horrible

Terrible. Have to wait for ages for our orders. Someone came after us and he had his food before us. The excuses was the kitchen is busy. It is not our problem to be understaff or whatever the problem was. When received our orders food was dry & tasteless. It was not up to our expectations. PLEASE AVOID GOING TO THIS RESTAURANT you will be disappointed. Very unhappy customer!

Had a full breakfast & as per usual very nice.

Not a impression from when i use to go in . Totally changed from a lovely clean look . To sticky table chair dirty on the back . Staff where brushing floor while customers where eating. Soup and half a sandwich. Well not really worth it as i remember it use to have a small bit off salad or some crisps but not now for 2 bowls of soup the soup was spilt . # watery . 20 pounds doesn't seem a special. Sad to when a lot off us use to remember 😪

As always, simply delicious. Beautiful fresh fish cooked to perfection. Generous helping of everything. Very helpful staff when it came to ordering gluten free food. Well done to the team. 👍

Having previously noted my poor view of Lorimers in 2015, it is nice to be able to post a much improved and more positive impression now. We arrived on a bitterly cold day to find a warm restaurant with welcoming staff. I asked if it would be possible to put salt down by the disabled parking bay as it was scarily icy for those with a mobility disability. Less than 5 mins later a member of staff apologised that this had not been noted and advised it was already cleared. Freshly cooked hot meal, good portions at good prices and really crispy chips. Without a doubt the tables and chairs need replacing, and let down the first impression here - but all hospitality venues are suffering and as long as they are kept clean, we have to wait for them to be able to claw their way out of the current finance issues to be able to go that expensive extra mile. In the meantime, the staff and food here, and the great service, are what would make us return.

Always go here for a chippy or freshly made Sandwiches. The turkey club sandwich is always winner for me.

Staff were friendly and attentive and then the food arrived, downhill from there I'm sorry to say. Three different meals and it was a unanimous YUCK!

Was a bit quiet due to the 🌨 snow it is normally busy.

If you fancy standing for 10 mins staring at a takeaway wall menu, with absolutely no sign of being served, then this is the place for you!! Left (still hungry) as some people have work to do.

We usually get a good fish supper here when dining in but 2 days ago when we were there, the chips and peas were cold. Many diners that night weren't happy with exactly the same complaint. We shall keep going there regardless and hopefully the next time we're there, it will be better 🤞🏼

Always worth visit everything delish from breakfast rolls to tuna panini not forgetting best fish & chips in inverness 🤗 staff always friendly while still maintaining fast service & if time sit well worth staying for tea/ coffee slice of cake or ice cream .

I wanted the vegan breakfast, but the waiting staff informed me that it's all cooked on the same pans/grill that the meat is done on. Cross contamination makes it no longer suitable for vegetarians or vegans. Glad I was told though! Perhaps take it off the menu unless there are steps taken to correct this? I enjoyed Lorimers last year, but I suspect my breakfast wasn't as veggie friendly as I thought! 🤮 Staff lovely, thank you!

Asked for cheese toastie, got it with onions, dident ask for onions, but noticed that the tables have been cleaded to a fashion, before you would stick to them

Visited for breakfast whilst waiting for my car to be serviced, ideally located for the garage. Place was a wee bit on the cold side but it was 1st thing. Nice enough breakfast and good amount for the cost.

Best fish and chip takeaway in Inverness. All food cooked to order. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Restaurant area is clean and has a good menu, service is great. Highly recommend for a family treat or when you just can't be bothered cooking.

Dropped car off for service and popped in to lorimer for loverly scottish breakfast, and coffee staff where very nice and service was v good.

I had a jumbo sausage supper from the chip shop section. The chips were crinkled cuts (very nice). The sausage was different to one's at other chip shops but it was nice. Would certainly recommend.

I don't like posting negative reviews unless truly warranted but this place was very average. The food was meh. The service was meh. The atmosphere was meh. I had the fish platter and my husband had the scampi. The waitress seemed to be new and/or in training. She sat us down and then didn't come to take our order until we asked her about 10 minutes later. We noticed another waitress come along later, instructing her how to do this and that. The waitress was sweet and all, but wasn't being very well trained - not her fault. We just weren't impressed at all with the place.

Visited here on Friday 13th October 2023. Fantastic atmosphere, tasty food, excellent waitresses, i left an envelope in one of the bushes outside containing 1000pounds sterling, if the reviews get looked at by the staff then they will know its there. Best chippy restaurant in Scotland 10/10

This restaurant should be considered under fraud. We received the wong order. The fish and chips we got were terrible and most of it was thrown in the bin. Not intending to return there. Don't suppose the owner will be too bothered!

Please please sort your tables out they are sticky to touch get the wax sanded off get them sealed with a good quality varnish please get this sorted before i visit in 10 days time thankyou

The fish and chips were good. The table was sticky, my phone stuck to it! The chairs were dirty with finger marks with brown sauce (old). Smeared ketchup on a skirting board that was there 9 months ago (when I called in for breakfast) is still there. This place needs a major deep clean, one waitress was good but the other seemed distracted and took orders down incorrectly. No energy, very sad because I remember how good it used to be. Not returning to sit in again.

We've been eating at Lorimers for years and today was sadly disappointing. Any husband ordered the full breakfast but could not order poached eggs! I ordered link sausage and egg roll. My roll came with an over cooked lorn and egg. I asked the waitress if she could change it for link sausage. I was informed I'd have to wait until they were cooked. This was no problem. When my roll came, my husband was nearly finished his breakfast. My roll with the fried egg had obviously been left under a hot plate and was all dry and hard. Very disappointed in you Lorimers

Good honest food. Never had a bad experiance here. Get a turkey club baguette for god sake!

The setting for this restaurant was like a grubby conservatory, and we were sat by the door, which was kept open, meaning my daughter was cold. I had the chicken curry, which was nice, but the rest of my family did not enjoy their meals, which were described as being underwhelming!

Conservatory seating very hot on sunny day, meaning they leave the outside doors open allowing fly's to come in, otherwise excellent

Despite the extensive menu, and not expensive, I was disappointed with the food. I found the haggis mac cheese tasteless, and the table was sticky. However, with the prices, I can understand it being a family restaurant.

Terrible service and food. Firstly the awful greasy smell you smell upon entering as if the fryers haven’t been cleaned. Food over priced, staff look dirty with no customer service experience. Waited ages at the counter before being served. They also forgot my drinks. First time trying and will never be back. So disappointed.
