Some of the reviews are not great, however we couldn't fault it at all, Friendly staff, food served within 15 mins of order, good size portions, and nice food, at a good price, what more could you ask.

Expensive food for very poor quality. One poor young girl was on her own and doing her best. Lack of options in the area.

We had to go because the waitress was on the edge, there were many free places to sit near the windows and be able to see the sea and she sat us at a table next to the kitchen and she also served us late to the point of going somewhere else

Amazing until I tried to get to know some of the staff.. Unfortunate.

It was closed. It was listed as open, but was closed. It looked like it might be shut down temporarily, it wasn't clear, and I couldn't see any clues on the door or windows. At the time, Jan 2024, there is a construction site nearby where they are expanding the ferry port. I don't know whether it's lack of openness was linked to that.

Place smells like poo especially near the bar, staff very poorly organised poor girl on the bar had only just started working there and had been left to struggle with no help food was standard and the place was pretty run down looking. Went for drinks and food

Locals bar with nice atmosphere. Beer very good and not expensive. Food pub fare with very good fish and chips and excellent service. Ideal stop if using ferry.

The restaurant/bar needs some serious tlc. Stained chairs and a bad smell as you go in. Food service was slow, the older man was very nice though just rushed off his feet. The food was actually pretty good. We had the burgers. The hot chocolate was dreadful and very pricey compared to the other places we've been around Skye.

Food was delicious and very cheap. Staff was great. Bar dog was friendly. Guy behind the bar was very knowledgeable about all the whiskeys on offer and kindly explained the ins and outs of enjoying the taste. Highly recommend abit of down time here.

We arrived right at 5:30 when they were serving dinner again. We had no problem getting a table but it got quite busy soon after. Our server was friendly and he was the only server working. I thought did a great job handling all of the tables. We had soup and fish & chips which were both good. The table beside us really enjoyed their grilled haddock. We watched the ferry pull in and the cars load on.

We had a wonderful seafood lunch here! Got the daily specials: mussels, salmon, and scallops. All were very fresh and generous portions. We also got a soup (chicken and rice) and it was hearty and tasty. Dining room is simply decorated, but with an expansive view over the port of Uig. Service was very friendly and the barman gave us some advice on which whiskeys to try while in Skye. We came at 2:55p and they still served us hot food even though the kitchen closed at 3:00p. Coffee was also got and tasty. We highly recommend the Bakur restaurant!

Exactly what I needed stepping off the Ferry. We drove by quickly after driving off the ferry, but turned around. So glad we did. Mussels are excellent, fish and chips are gorgeous! Lovely little restaurant, comfy, and some tables have a nice view of the Harbour. Service is great. Highly recommend.

We had a great meal here. Very local and food was fresh. Mussels had just come in. Does not open for dinner till 530 as seems to be common on Skye. Nice water view. Hope to return. Also, pool table and pub available if you arrive before serving starts

Food was good/great, 4 meals (haddock, goat cheese tart, mussels, Mac-cheese). Staff was great, fast & fun. It’s not a fancy place, just down to earth decent good food. With noisy fun bar attached.

We enjoyed a relaxed early (5:30pm) dinner on a Monday night. No problems getting a table. Today they were not taking bookings but being early got a table with a view over the harbour. Friendly staff, prompt service. Mussels special was very nice with a nice broth that worked well with the mussels and garlic bread but was a little salty for my taste on its own.

Any port in a storm! Little choice so had a drink here. We had contemplated eating, but there was an awful smell in bar so as it had said local beers above the door I asked for a Skye beer, no chance, the beer was from Aberdeen. The bar dog got into an altercation with some visiting dogs and then pissed over bench where no doubt some customer would soon sit. Staff friendly enough. As others have said why bother when you have a captive market. If you intend catch the ferry try to find a place a to stop before the terminal for a drink or a bite to eat.

We got to the ferry queue for 12pm and had a lovely lunch here. Staff were very friendly, food was tasty, piping hot and promptly served. Nice place (and cute dog), very handy while waiting for the ferry in the rain (also offered takeaway box if we had needed it) 🍤🫖⛴️

The black Labrador from this restaurant is viscous! Whilst waiting at the ferry terminal we took our 2 dachshunds out for a walk, No more than 2 minutes out of the car and the black lab attacked our youngest pup for no reason at all! The lady in the restaurant didn’t even apologise when we went to tell her about the attack instead just said “get in bad boy” then walked away from us!! Absolutely appalling and the dog should not be left to roam.

We arrived in Uig at 1200 and needed to be back to the car by 1330 in readiness to board the ferry. The entrance door was locked and there were no business hours on display. Two people were seated inside but we were unable to join them. On previous trips we have had a very positive experience in the Pier Restaurant but it now appears to offer a very poor service.

Contrary to other reviews, we had an excellent meal here. Starting with the soup of the day, which was chicken & rice, it was tasty, we’ll seasoned and had a nice consistency. The bread that came with it was a light brown seeded bread. We also had the fish& chips, which we thought was very good, big portion, crispy, as were the chips. We enjoyed our meal very much.

Called in for coffee, wish we hadn’t. Flat white coffee came in cardboard cups and looked like milky water couldn’t taste any coffee and the most expensive coffee I have ever bought @ £4:50 a cup. Definitely will not be visiting again.

Really the only place to go if you're waiting for the ferry. Captive market twice a day so in no deed for staff to be pleasant or helpful. Surprisingly, had two excellent pints of Belhaven Best Ale - not a statement I'd ever thought I'd say given the general poor quality of Scottish ales. Typical Scottish pub decor and staff.

Went here planning to have a couple of drinks and something to eat. Had two dogs with us, on leads and under control under the table. Unfortunately, two dogs were loose in the bar, one quite young and running all over the bar and at one point starting a fight with the other older and more behaved dog. Barman completely unconcerned and did nothing to manage the situation. Our dogs naturally worried by them as they are not used to dogs running free in the pubs or other places we visit. We had to leave as there was no attempt to control them and our dogs couldn't relax. The same dog was seen off lead and running around Uig village later. Obviously the normal rules for dogs don't apply here.

Just don't bother. Better food for less money if you just wait for the ferry and eat on that. My companion ate off a plate but mine came in a polystyrene box. I had a chef''s steak burger in Invergarry the day before for less than the Pier Restaurant charged to give me school dinner (and make me pay).

Well a bit of a strange experience. The Pier Restaurant and the Bakur Bar are the same place. The photos are deceptive as they show food on plates… Everything arrived in takeaway boxes. Few strange looks from tourists in the building. The menu only had 3 things on it with a couple of specials on the board, 1 of which was lentil soup… I had fish, chips and no peas as they had run out. The fish was adequately sized although a bit on the smaller side from your usual restaurant portion. Tasty enough although a bit greasy. No sign of any desserts so didn’t ask. Bit unusual…

We called here for a cup of tea after a day's drive around the coast, and we were persuaded by the friendly waiter to try the fish and chips. We weren't disappointed, they were delicious. It's basic and food is served in takeaway containers because they are short staffed, but it was a welcome break. And you can watch the ferries come and go.

We just left this place not 30 minutes ago and I can say without a doubt that after a long day that food was delicious and the service was steller. The waiter was so nice and it seems like a great local spot! Ignore people complaining and JUST GO!

Popped in here for something to eat around lunchtime. We had a prepared sandwich and a soft drink and sat outside. Food was alright. Good outside seating area.

Helpful service surprised at a group of 10 turning up.

Over £50 for soup and sandwiches was ridiculous, needless to say we cancelled the soup (except for one) the cakes and immediately halved the bill. No knife for the rock hard bread roll (soup) plastic cutlery and cardboard cups for the teas, yes, maybe due to Covid, but for that price, way too much! Staff very friendly and helpful.

Very expensive! We had fish, chips & peas, at £13.50 out of a cardboard container & used plastic cutlery! This maybe due to COVID fears, but for this kind of money, at least proper cutlery would have been nice! The fish was good though to be fair, but the chips were of the frozen variety, which was a shame, good latte's & hot chocolates though.....

The burger and fish and chips were way over priced. The music was loud rave music. The place felt just out of touch from being a restaurant pub or club. They have a great location and could be so much more. Unfortunately they don't have any Skye brewery beer despite being located right next to the brewery. They serve your food in take away boxes and give you plastic cutlery. They have obviously been hit by the pandemic hard and are trying to make ends meet.

Not open? Tried to visit mid afternoon and again at 5pm. Door locked! Picked up some beers from the brewery shop instead...

Great staff and so helpful. Amazing food too. Should you like a tot of scotch ? There are 90 odd to choose from with prices from mild to wild.. I would definitely go back here.

Popped hoping to have a few beers after a trip round Skye - had been many times before. However on entering premises with our 2 well behaved dogs we were shout at to ‘get out ,can’t come in here with dogs’ . Attitude was terrible, very unfriendly. Disappointed as the staff and welcome used to be fantastic- the whole reason why we returned. Won’t be back . Shame lots of family travelling on ferry or staying in campsite won’t be able to use !!

The restaurant does not take reservations and serves food in takeaway containers even if you eat in. The bar serves a good range of beer, wine etc. There are outdoor seats with nice views. The food is basic fare like fish and chips, burgers etc. Quite expensive for what you get - £13.50 for fish and chips. Food is good though, and the service is friendly. Located just by the ferry terminal and easy walk from Uig Bay campsite.

Zero rating more appropriate - charged £10.20 for two cups of mocha coffee - tasted like dishwater, no coffee flavour. Tables were not sanitised after being vacated/ occupied by next customer.

Decent food & spectacular views of the pier, lovely friendly staff; however the bar attracts some patrons who are very disruptive & vulgar, even in the middle of the day. Would be better if there was a separation between the bar & the restaurant areas.

Stopped here as the Hungry Gull was closed, the food was good, but the girl chef was very unprofessional towards the poor barman. Having a go at him in front of us, also again later on poor guy. He was doing BAR, meals, and hot drinks another girl was just serving meals. Poor guy couldn't seem to do any thing right.

7 of us walked in to have lunch just after the restaurant had opened for business, we were ignored by all 3 staff until we attempted to gain their attention. Bad start and we should have just left there and then. We ordered drinks which came back wrong. We ordered dinner, half of the dishes we asked for were not available, we waited 15 minutes to reorder. The meals came in dribs and drabs. We ordered desert which should have been simple, Sticky Toffee Pudding, it came out with canned cream on it so we asked for the ice cream as advertised, this confused two out of three of the waiting staff who wanted to bring us ice cream sundaes additionally. Finally finished the meal and we were prompted to the bar to pay where we were then ignored again by the bar lady until after she served all her friends their drinks. My wife and mother in law refused to use the ladies bathroom due to the smell. If visiting Uig please avoid this place and plan your meals elsewhere.

Bande d'amateurs, allez vendre des torchons si vous voulez, mais ne crachez pas sur les métiers de la restauration.

It seems like their staff has a high turnover rate and there isn't good communication with their chef staff. It is a typical pub atmosphere for travelers, backpackers, caravan travelers. Food was average but their is a very local feel to the bar scene.
