Was told hit food takes 20 mins. After 35 mins asked where our food was. It was delivered a couple of mins later. My cheeseburger was burnt and inedible. To be fair, after complaining they offered to cook something else, which I declined. I was given a full refund on the price of the cheeseburger.

Lunch with my daughter proved to be a big disappointment. We waited 40 minutes for our food. My daughter's macaroni was fine. My baked potato with bacon, brie and red onion was inedible. It had probably been ready for most of those 40 minutes. The potato was cremated and the bacon would have required a surgical knife to dissect it. Oh, and there was no red onion. Someone really needs to look at the plates that are about to be delivered, because this one should never have left the kitchen.

Don’t go to this place, myself husband and granddaughter would go here every change we got, we went yesterday for lunch and I ordered the gammon salad as it was worth the money, I wouldn’t say that anymore it’s now not worth the money same price for less no cheese, no coleslaw, pineapple like it use to be the salad is like something out of a ready made bag boiled egg over cooked, I went to the supervisor and complained! I got my money back and sent the salad back, we will never go back here again I know that most restaurants are down sizing on the meals to save them but not lowering the price witch is a joke if your going to take things from the plate down the price as well don’t charge the same price???

Hadn't visited for a while and to be honest the food was definitely of a lower quality than the last time we visited We both had toasties with a side order of chips and it was quite tasteless and the chips were the skinny type that don't taste great and get cold really quickly and my cherry scone had chopped cherries on the outside but there seemed to be none inside Always enjoyed a trip to Christies hope that this experience was just a one off

I was pleasantly surprised with Christies, as a whole. A place we regularly pass without knowing it’s there, this was indeed our first visit. It won’t be our last! We met some friends for Breakfast in the restaurant. Although a little bit pricey (hot drinks not included with the meal), the experience was really good and the Breakfast equally so. We had a very little wait and the staff were friendly at the till. Walking around the centre it was deceiving how big it actually was - certainly looks smaller externally. Plenty of lovely gifts on offer, an array of plants to buy and an outside area available for children to play (this was closed however - warmer season opening times I believe). Without a doubt a good local business that i’m sure will attract the regulars and tourists for many years to come!

Hi, I am a coeliac and was very disappointed today when I came along for coffee at 1230 to find the only choice of sweet thing I could have was a large meringue that was looking very lonely in its own. This was after one of your servers told me that all the cakes in the three cakestands at the front, were in fact all gluten free. This included raspberry sponge, cupcakes and a stand of another. I queried this three times and was told, "yes they are gluten free ". Thankfully another server came to my rescue and said that, in fact, none of them were gluten free. I am a coeliac and this misinformation could have had very serious consequences for me. I thanked the knowledgeable server and asked what sweet thing I could have, only to be told that the one meringue was my only choice. This is extremely worrying and disappointing. I chose a coffee, whilst the other 4 people in my party had scones and cakes. Had this not been an arrangement, my husband and I would have left. Can I ask if you do carry out training for your front staff , due to the severity of the consequences on coeliacs. Can I also add, that this my first visit since before lockdown for the very same thing, when I was given a salad with gluten in it. I found this out when I asked your manager if I could see your allergen menu. Your manager at the time was very apologetic when she told me that the allergen menu was not up to date, and that she would rectify this. To come up against this again today does not fill me with confidence unfortunately. I am sorry to write this message, however, I am sure Christies take customer service feedback seriously.

After the traumas of lockdown, my wife and I have been taking the opportunity to revisit various restaurants and teashops which we have enjoyed in the past. This time it was the turn of the Teapot Restaurant. Great value - two lattes and two fruit scones for under £9. The fruit scones in particular were very good but a bit crumbly. I was also impressed by the fact that a member of staff, noticing that I had mobility issues, pointed out that they only had available tables on the upper level and asked if I would be OK. Little things mean a lot! Although not local, we will certainly be returning to this venue.

Food: always great We always enjoy a lunch here, however today (2nd November 2021) we experienced the worst and slowest front of house person we’ve ever seen in our lives — anywhere! I don’t know if this person was new, or was having a major off-day but some of the more experienced staff should have stepped in. Or management should have known better other than to put her as the person taking the food orders… Appalling! The queues of people was half way around the shop and once we got closer we could see how slow and dithery the staff was. You need to get on top of this. I blame the management for putting someone that hasn’t got a clue what their doing as the main person taking orders We heard at LEAST 6-7 people in the queue in front of us grumbling that they’ve never seen things move so slow here

Visit here regularly with no previous need to complain, but was disappointed today. Had lunch which was chicken broth and sandwich which looked really good on arrival. But on stirring in the pepper there was a large corner of a white plastic bag. I called over a waiter ,who immediately took it away and replaced it, then a young lady came across and apologised to us and says sometimes these things happen .Maybe so, but they shouldn't as clearly this was human error. I received my replacement soup, which I did enjoy, but then thought that this bag must have been through the whole pot of soup. Without knowing what was previously in the bag, it does concern me. You pay as you order at this establishment, so they have already been paid, so maybe weren't overly concerned.

Kids had the children’s boxes which consisted of yogurt, cheese, and three strawberries cut in half which was not very substantial. I paid an extra £1 for the mug of filtered coffee. The breakfast arrived on a smallish plate and therefore all the food was stacked up on each other. Not very appetizing to look at. Why not use the bigger plates and arrange the food. I know why a smaller plate is used i.e to make it look as if you have received more food, but I'm afraid in this case it's backfired. Once the cold milk was added to my coffee it was luke warm to say the least. Why not offer warmed milk? You only received one small piece of toast, again not the two received in most other venues. I'm afraid I will not be recommending the breakfast to anyone soon. Let's hope things change.

I asked for extra egg so my infant daughter could have some, but was told quite bluntly that I couldn't, even though I was quite happy to pay. We were told we weren't allowed any variations to what was on the menu so I was forced to buy an overpriced kids meal with no healthy options whatsoever, and they didn't even have water as an option for a drink, so had to get a tap water as an "extra" then when the food came out the portions were definitely not value for money, the sausage in the breakfast was inedible and horrible, luckily the rest of the breakfast was ok if meagre. we definitely felt ripped off and won't be coming back, even the toilet facilities weren't pleasant.

8 of us went for lunch, Soups were served before everyone had arrived - consequently cold and then main courses served before soup was finished so they were cold too. Chef had forgotten to put on rice pudding so a wait of 30 mins before rice was ready. A real 'Fawlty Towers' affair. Meal was merely mediocre - disappointing.

Went for lunch. Good variety of cakes. The chicken fillets were greasy, and came with the tiniest thimble of dipping sauce, and the chips were reheated. Average all day breakfast. Cakes were good though :)

Went here for a light lunch. We had cheese/tomato and coronation chicken sandwiches served with a lovely side salad and crisps, also a child had the courgette & potato soup. We also had Americano coffees and a tea. Everything we had was good and I really enjoyed my coronation chicken sandwich made with brown bread.

We were disappointed with our lunch today. My wife's baked potato had half its insides missing and the big black blemish on the outside was a clue as to what had happened to the other half. Christie's must make enough profit on their £6.50 baked potato with tuna that they could afford to throw away a rotten tatty! My lasagne was reasonable but the lumps of minced beef were a bit unusual. The new layout where smaller tables were pushed together to maximise footfall made the dining area reminiscent of a school canteen. I have been a regular visitor here for years but I'll be going elsewhere from now on.

We are fairly regulars visitors to the Teapots Restaurant and up until now we have had no problems. However our plunch proved troublesome. First of all after waiting 20 minutes for our lunch, we were advised that there had been a mix up with our order (two orders had been given the same order number) We then had another 20 minute wait before finally receiving our order.

Recently, my husband & I visited the Teapots Restaurant with my 92 year old Uncle - whose birthday it was that day. As soon as the staff heard it was his birthday they came out to our table with a little cake and a candle and sang happy birthday to my Uncle! It made his day and ours! Thank you Kate & Co - this was such a lovely gesture and so much appreciated.

Called in for lunch today and both ordered soup and sandwich lunch with tea and a scone . Waited nearly 20 minutes for simple lunch to come out by which time tea was undrinkable . To be fair they did bring fresh pot . Two different soups - chicken an£ rice which partner said was lovely however I had taken Cullen skunk (paying extra pound for the privilidge). And it was awful - hardly any fish in it, really watery and bulked out with poorly cooked potatoes . Sandwiches were nice and freshly made . Overall though definitely not worth over £20 for two . Customer service was also dreadful . Will not be back and would not recommend

I have given two stars rather than one because hopefully this was a "one off" aberration. However the cooked breakfast I was served was truly dreadful. The worst part of it was the fried egg which contained several pieces of shell but the sausages were also burned black and so hard they made an unpleasant splintering between the teeth. There was no lorne sausage, no tattie scones and only half a (barely cooked and cold) tomato. I would have sent it back on the strength of the egg and the sausages alone but having overheard one of the staff snarling at a customer who had (very politely - timidly even) raised a similar issue, I didn't fancy coming into the firing line too.

Having lunched here a number of times and have given Teapots some good reviews, I have to say that this time I was really disappointed with my lunch. The fact that I had to wait in a queue for over 10 minutes to order I can live with as the food is usually good. However, on this occasion the surf & turf I ordered had a steak which was really well done and was dry (I specified medium) and prawns which appeared to have been in the microwave for far too long. They were really chewy and the last two of the four I left as I could not get my fork in them. That's really true. This is the first time that I lunched here on a Monday, perhaps this is a bad day here in the kitchen.

Visited for morning refreshments- had to wait to even be acknowledged whilst 2 members staff finished "chit-chatting" together. Eventually we were served. Decided to purchase from the garden shop area and once again we were ignored by 2 staff at till counter who were busy doing other chores rather than take our cash!?! Eventually, cashier who was serving a lady in front of us took items but no "Good morning" or even a smile, not a Thank you, please, or a Goodbye when we parted with our cash! Not impressed! Its not as if the place was busy and the staff were under pressure due to work as the place was DEAD quiet....mmmm! I wonder why?...

Was here yesterday. A great selection of food. We settled for Cullen skink soup and a prawn sandwich. Total coast was £17. Was it worth it sadly no. It was a very small bowl of soup. I thought it would have been lovely seaded brown bread but sadly it was just a cheap one. But it was loaded up with prawns. If you are paying this amount of money put decent bread out for your customers. I don't think I would go back and eat here because looking at other people's plates the portion sizes looked small. Sadly I wouldn't recommend this restaurant but a beautiful Garden Centre.

Visited Christies on Friday for lunch with a friend. We arrived just after 12 and after studying the menu went to order. Was really looking forward to having a baked potato only to be told that they weren’t available until 12.30. No explanation for delay nor anything to say that this was the case on the menu board so don’t know if this is normal. Surely all menu items should be available in an establishment like this. Won’t hurry back.

Dined today for lunch with my elderly mother in the quiet area, whilst we cdnt fault the food or service, the place was freezing! Glass Side doors left open for the entire duration of our visit while a lorry was unloaded. The wind came down the ramped slope and chilled the seating area, to the point people ate hurriedly and left. I asked a waiter how long they would still be and got a shrug, and a ‘don’t know’ but he did nothing about it. While we realise deliveries must be made do they need to occur in the lunch window? We did as others, ate quickly and left! Wish I’d taken my coat, I will next time, if there is a next time! Will certainly scan the car park first!

The sumptuous quiet area lounge is the ideal part of the restaurant to relax and enjoy a delicious lunch. Order at the counter and it will be served at the table without significant delay. The great Wi-Fi connection is a bonus. I enjoyed a great surf and turf meal which was full of flavour and was exceptional value for money. Christies is certainly more than a garden centre. The play facilities it offers children are second to none for such retailers in the region.

Went for lunch and both of us ordered an Aberdeen Angus cheese steak burger. I've never had a burger with melted cheese on both sides of burger. Far too much and we both left with that sickly feeling. Spoiled my meal as I couldn't eat it all. Burgers do not need that much mature cheese. Next time I'll take my own cheese square and order plain

Booked this hotel without looking at reviews. Upon arrival, looking at the building was an instant regret. It was only a night. How bad could it be? I went to the reception to be greeted by nobody for about 5 mins. The hotel felt dark damp and eerie as I never came across any other visitors. A man came from downstairs but was not very welcoming. I eventually found my room, going down a dark corridor. The room smelt really bad there were holes in the walls, and the bathroom was tiny. The toilet had poo still up the back of the pan, gross! The bed was very small and uncomfortable. I am 6ft an my legs hanging of the end. Due to the smell and the cleanliness a miss. I had yo check out and book into another hotel.

Saturday 2nd of November, they decided to shut the restaurant, no head up or anything. Just no meals, only refreshments. Fast forward two weeks. After a 4 hour drive on the Friday, I arrived at 7.05pm. Reception said restaurant were serving until 8.30 and I was OK just to pop over and get a table. So I done that. No tables for the rest of the night. Only the tables near the bar were being used. Rest of the place was empty. Saturday seemed to go without a hitch. Sunday morning, apparently the chef pulled a sickie so there was no hot food other than what you could put through the toaster! The big lad that's in the restaurant is brand new as are some of the other FOH staff but this place need to sort the BOH staff out pronto. Also just a little tip for the servers, from someone who was in hospitality for 18 years, when someone walks in the door and stands waiting to be attended to, give them an acknowledgement. Don't just leave them standing like a spare tw4t.
