Nice cup of tea and scone served by very lovely staff. We walked fast after our tour to get the table by the window! What beautiful views. The lady serving us told us about sea life and birds we might spot and offered us use of the binoculars. She was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. She offered extra hot water for our tea and chatted with us. Lovely. Would visit again if we were in the area.

Waited for 10 minutes indoors to be seated only for someone to finally come over to tell us and the couple of people queued infront of us (most of whom were very elderly and frail) to wait outside in the cold instead. Based on this customer service and asking people in their 80s+ to wait outside in winter, we turned around and left.

Popped in here for lunch with our dog. Decent amount of choice on the lunch menu. The steak pie was steak with a pastry top, rather than the pie we expected. The omelette was tasty and the portions were large. The staff were friendly and the service was quick.

Took friend to lunch - it was the first time I had been to Carberry Tower. The menu sounded good. My friend went for the fish and chips which looked good. I went for the langoustine tails on a strawberry and pineapple salad. When it was brought to the table I was shocked by “the salad” - it looked like a timbale of couscous or quinoa with what could be described as a tiny slither of a strawberry chopped into minuscule pieces (6 in total) you could hardly taste it and no pineapple whatsoever. No dressing - very dry. The dessert I chose was the coconut and peach pan a cotta topped with fresh mango and mint salsa with strawberry coulis. There was no taste of peach in the panna cotta - there was a nectarine and mint salsa but no sign of strawberry coulis. My friend had the ice cream and she was happy with it. If they had ran out of strawberries they could have taken the dish off the menu or come back with alternative dishes. However, two mains, two desserts and 1 ginger ale and 1 small glass wine and tap water £65. Won’t be back. Overpriced and over-rated - not impressed!!

The website advertises all day food which is not the case - kitchen closes between 2 and 5. No matter we had English tapas instead, crisps! Super friendly staff - bet it’s a very cosy spot on a winter’s evening with its wood burning stove. We would make a point of going again. Barman was playing some brilliant music -electric folk - he was very knowledgeable. Sorry I forgot to ask your name but thank you for educating me about Runrig!

The Dolphin has been on site at West Pier on Peterhead Harbour for three decades, serving favourites including fish and chips using product landed at the harbour. Burgers, jacket potato and pies are among the regular offerings along with pineapple and banana fritters. The baked tattie was great, by the way. But there was a surprise on the menu on the day we visited. I asked what the soup of the day was and the answer: "Mince and tattie soup." Shocked but interested. I had to try it. Take a bow, Pauline, it was great, wee chunks of meat and packed with vegetables. Five-a-day not a problem. Fancied a sticky toffee pudding but was told to resist as we were heading for dinner in a local hotel that night.

Absolutely fantastic! Really lovely meal, flavours were.just great. We were watching the pennies, so we shared a starter of haggis, then had a sharing plate - vegetarian, I think, and then a couple of scoops of sorbet. And I tried one of the cocktails! I am not a drinker so I have nothing to compare it to, but wow!

Visited with my adult daughter for a cheeky wee Friday night pint but succumbed to the gorgeous aroma of food surrounding us and decided to order. We opted to share 3 starters and a side of proper handcut chips. Chicken in tempura batter (mouthwatering), salt n chilli chicken strips and a huge bowl of topped nachos (with proper cheddar cheese!) The nachos weren't even the large portion. Everything was delicious, piping hot and very filling. The dishes were nicely presented with really tasty salad garnish. Great attentive service throughout from Alex and Amy who were totally on the ball. Duty manager John's quick witty banter added entertainment to our visit. Excellent value for money and worth every penny. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back very soon. Highly recommended!

Booked a table online on Easter Monday for lunch. Received a confirmation email and then a reminder about my booking. Imagine our shock then when we turned up to find restaurant closed!!. Phoned contact number and told indeed it was closed. What angered me more was I emailed the hotel twice explaining my situation and once used the contact details on website. Didn't even receive the courtesy of a reply or apology. Had food here before and it was very nice but after that experience I would not return. You shouldn't be able to book a table online if restaurant is closed.
