Waiting for meals for over 30 minutes. Other tables served. Meal obviously warmed up, hot outside, cold inside. Returned meal, refund issued, did not require any replacement meal. Soft drinks ordered and arrived just before we left. Issues with time waiting on bill

Visited The Claremont for lunch with family last Friday, friendly staff & quick service. meals were good portions but what's happened to the chips.......seems they've morphed into horrible thin, hard French fries.. When the menu states CHIPS , chips should be served & not nasty tasteless fries. Apart from that the food was good.

We were turned away as they couldn't serve 17 drinks. They don't have the staff so basically it was tough! Can't believe pubs can afford to turn away paying customers! It must be nice to have that choice when many other pubs are struggling!

wow, unfriendly doesn't even cut it! no room for food I can deal with that but they refused to serve just drinks because there was too many of us again I can deal with that but when staff then say it's'tough' then I do feel extremely frustrated that they were so so rude!!!!

We go here all the time always friendly and welcoming never had a bad meal and local great place as we are very fussy in fact when we there it was a new member of staff who took our order and one of us asked for the strawberry sundae without the strawberries she kept saying without the strawberries the rest of us were laughing very amusing

Used to love going here but has recently gone downhill. No longer serve breakfast in bar which is so disappointing. Went for dinner on a Saturday night. Was busy, good atmosphere. 3 of us took the macaroni which was very dry. Used to be the best macaroni, not anymore. Husband took Lasagne which was not as good as usual. It has put us off going back

Enjoyed a lovely lunch, great choice on menu and served by pleasant staff, even though very busy. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner.

Myself and my partner visited today for the first time from Glasgow. We were promptly greeted at the entrance by the young man with tattoos. He informed us that only the higher tables in the bar lounge area were available but after explaining about my back issues he offered to quickly clean and set one of the tables that had recently been used so I could have a seat on a better chair. We were served very quickly and had our drinks brought over immediately. The young lady with the black hair took our order for dinner shortly after and we didn’t have to wait long at all.. The food was lovely (fish amd chips) and the restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere with very polite and happy staff.I highly recommend the place to those that have not visited before, thank you to the staff for your curtesy, we will be back!

Despite the stated closing time of 10pm listed on the chalk board at the entrance we were refused service at 8.30pm on a Saturday. (Two middle-aged people, completely sober) Dismayed by the excuse that as they had stopped serving food they were not serving drinks either. There were several people sitting in the bar area and at least 6 tables occuppied in the food area. We live locally and have had good service in the past. Other friends have also commented on slow service there recently. Will make sure we spend our money elsewhere from now on plus tell all of our friends & neighbours about the non-welcoming Claremont.

Myself (63yrs) and my son (38yrs) visited this pub/restaurant on Saturday 27 Jan 2023 my reasoning behind mentioning our ages is simply to say we were not a couple of young lads looking the worse for wear out on the lash, but a father and son who had spent the afternoon at a 1-year-olds birthday party and fancied a tea time pint. On entering we were immediately confronted by a Rotweller in the form of a human being whose first barks were had we booked a table my response was No as we had only popped in for a beer he then proceeded to waffle on about not having a booking and the bar area being full (really for a couple of pints????). If the Macintosh family had made a conscious business decision to now model these premises similar to the Dutch Inn and concentrate more on a clientele that eating than people who are social drinkers that is their decision to make I only wish I had known that before entering your premises and being treated like an underage teenager by your guard dog My family and friends have frequented your establishment on several occasions over the years for family meals and drinks, unfortunately, this will no longer be the case simply because of the clipboard holding ignoramace supposedly welcoming you at the front door

food is great value for money and very tasty ,staff are polite .was very off puting the telephone ringing constantly which no one answers and is very very loud ,we were trying to have conversations and eat our food but the ringing was of putting ,at one point i mentioned it to staff but request was ignored .we were sat on the raised area near the toilets so if anyone is booking a table please ask to be seated at the far end

We have been here on more than a few occasions now. Easy to get to by train or car with an extensive available car park. We eat and drink out a lot between Edinburgh, Stirling and Glasgow and are well experienced diners. This has to be by far our most favourable and desired destination. The customer experience is at the heart of this popular family run Scottish gastropub/restaurant and the food served is plentiful and delicious. No matter what time of day we have been, lunch or dinner it is always extremely busy. Very family friendly and popular with locals and tourists a like looking for a high quality customer experience, great food at a great price. We can’t fault the Claremont and our experience with it. I have drank and eaten in this pub/restaurant for 30 years+ keep going back as the food service and atmosphere is always 5 Star. 10/10 every time keep up the great work Gregor family and your team. Can’t recommend enough.

Very very disappointed tonight,service and food was horrendous,quality of festive food was disappointing,also had to wait 1 hour between starter and main course,we visit this restaurant often as a family and find this totally unacceptable and disappointing

Called at the Claremont this evening with my niece’s husband (who lives nearby) for a couple of beers. Shown to the bar at then advised by the barman that there was ‘no space’. Apparently if you’re not ‘known’ at the Claremont you can’t get served. What a strange way to run a business. So, if you’re not known, avoid.

Dropped in for Sunday lunch with a friend. Nice table for two. I had steak pie (which I've had before and is very popular here) and my friend had chicken curry. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Food hot and good-sized portions. For dessert I had sticky toffee pudding which was delicious! My friend had ice cream. Staff were efficient and attentive and dishes were served promptly. All in all a very pleasant experience and good value for money. Thank you!

It's a lovely environment to sit in. The food portions leave a bit to be desired ...I left still hungry after eating their veg lasagne and chips ..a child's portion...cheap processed chips ..I appreciate restaurants are trying to bring money in but this was scant fare . My partner got a chicken schnitzel..her plate was covered with salad ...a definite case of plate filling.....this place used to be good

Prompt service lots of staff on hand, larger portions and good standard of food. Older clientele and the menu reflects this. Many old favourites such as Mac and cheese and lasagna

Visited today with my wife for the first time. It was our just under 2 week anniversary. And we both said lets try the Claremont inn. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left it was flawless. Our servers were outstanding... perfect kind and always checking you were ok and needing anything👏. Our food was 🙌 100% cant fault anything. The portions were unbelievable.. me and my wife were astounded. I cant thank you enough. I felt like home from home... very homley indeed. The price as people will always be curious of... was short of what we thought. We thought for 3 full courses and 2 full drinks each were around 85 odd pound.. but we were very very wrong. 60 pound!! Amazing! I mean this when i say this... i would highly highly recommend the Claremont inn either for a first experience or this maybe always your place of choice for me and my new wife... its became our place of choice to all other choices in falkirk. Just had a great meal food really good, fresh and service brilliant , Plenty to choose from and all fresh , I had the prawn and salmon , then the haddock mornay . My 2 guests had mac & cheese & haddock. All was great , not to pricey .Will definitely be back , we tip . A we mint or something with the bill would be a nice touch, at first we wernt sure if you only done your lunch menu at lunch times. Wich would have put us off as it was a celebration meal . Glad we tried anyway after calling 5 times just b4 12 however nobody answered.

The food, the service, the prices and the variety is exceptional. We like to try different places and must have tried hundreds of other eateries over the years but always keep coming back to the Claremont as its reliably consistent, in every way, and we have pretty high standards when it comes to restaurants.

I've been coming here for over 35 years and it continues to consistently produce excellent meals. A wide array of food is available to suit most tastes and is reasonably priced with a generous portion size. It's worth a stop at.

Best to book, or arrive early! My lasagne was very good indeed, as was the salad and the garlic bread. My friends were equally complimentary. I shall return.

Often come for lunch and / or dinner , always great quality and very reasonably priced. Best in the area by a country mile. The lunch menu if really good too for something light - favorites are the BLT , the steak pie is amazing too. One criticism would be if you get a sandwich the bread is incredibly thick , thats my only improvement I'd recommend

Bought the cajun burger which is usually excellent, however, on this occasion it must have been undercooked as shortly after leaving I was violently sick and had food poisoning for multiple days after. AVOID!

This used to be a really good meeting place for me and my mates to catch up and have a few beers and also had a great selection of beers reasonably priced Alas no more visits as on our last visit the manager made it pretty clear we were no longer welcome unless you were purchasing food there not interested in serving social drinkers thankfully we still all meet up on occasion just not there.

I've been here regular and never had a bad meal until Tuesday 10/9 was disappoint, as I took my parents for the first time. The see food salad lacked real see food! My partners food was cold and the vegetables practically raw even after they replaced them. I am hoping the usual chef was having the night off??

Good sized portions and friendly service. Nice selection of food including a specials list which was running out fast. The drinks selection was also good the place is clean and tidy.

Went for lunch here and it is very popular and busy. The menu is bog standard pub grub steak pie, fish and chips etc. The fish and chips were OK though the fish wasn’t the tastiest and needed plenty of sauce. The service was fast and efficient. The room is large and there are plenty of tables as well as a bar in the one area. If you are happy with pub food it is fine but to get 5 star rating on trip adviser I would expect more than this.

We were recommended this place by someone we chatted to at the Falkirk Wheel. Cannot fault the meal, I had a ribeye steak and hubby a steak-stacker. Gorgeous double or triple cooked chips, mushrooms, tomatoes and fab onion rings. No room for pudding unfortunately. Quite busy and lots of people came in after us, so always think that's a good sign.

We dropped in without booking about 7:30 midweek. The place was pretty full but we were given a good seat. The staff were efficient, speedy and friendly. The choice of food was good. We all had something different: burger, fish, macaroni cheese and chicken. All very generous portions, hot and tasty. The cost, including drinks was £51, so good value too!

You're in safe hands here. Better than just "pub food". The fillet steak is brilliant and until recently was under £20...…. still for £22.50 it's still great value and massive. Other meals are all consistently good. Great family venue.

Visited here last Thursday to join a group of friends, one of whom had organised the visit for about 20 of us. We had a ‘special’ menu of two courses, from which I had the steak pie followed by apple crumble. Both courses were of excellent quality and quantity, served promptly by very pleasant staff members. Although I live only 5 miles away this was my first visit to the Claremont and I shall certainly return.

We were lucky to get two places in the Claremont tonight as it was very busy. They managed to fit us in over a limited time which was fine by us. We had two very smooth merlot. Then we ordered fish and chips. The plate was groaning with fish,salad, coleslaw,mushy peas and tartare sauce we didn’t need the chips. It was very good,piping hot and nicely served. The service was friendly but efficient and very quick. Will certainly return and book in advance next time. It is very popular with families.

My wife and I decided on the spur of the moment to have Saturday lunch at the Claremont. We’ve eaten here three times since moving to the area a few years ago, and I’ve reviewed the Inn twice previously.

Been in a couple of times but this was my first for food.

Had lunch here with a friend yesterday. The restaurant was very busy and noisy. I had beef stroganoff. It was ok I thought the sauce was different if that’s a way of describing it. Not like any stroganoff I’ve had before. I ate it but I wouldn’t order it again. Would only return if I thought the restaurant might be quieter. We almost had to shout.

Visited here many times over the years. More recently had a lunch with my mother in law, and then a tea with my husband.

I visited yesterday for lunch on recommendation from a friend. I had a lovely lunch which was very reasonable and there wasn’t a minute piece left! Service was good and the inn is clean and well maintained. Plenty of parking outside too. Will definetely be back.

Was strange going here, was last here as a teenager, when it was a night club on the weekends... good service from the staff, food arrived in good time, was piping hot and delicious, the lasagna is really good, I tasted the steak pie and that was also great, will eat here again for sure.

The garden is clean large and spacious however the outside umbrella is never up despite the weather and chairs are often wet.

Been coming here for lunch every week for years it seems. Never had a bad lunch yet...Christmas "2 courses for £14.95 or 3 for £17.95 left my family and I well impressed. Unfortunately no cheap crackers on table which would have been a nice touch. But you don't eat crackers....food and staff excellent as usual...☺ Was in yesterday too. Normal lunches are great, soup and Sandwich combo and half portions all great value with a real home cooked flavour.

We are here on 27th December. We hadn't booked, but we got a table straight away. The menu was good, we both had steak which was well cooked and tasty. All the staff where very good. Good value meals. It's not a fancy place but very comfortable.

Busy Friday night just before Xmas, hadn't booked as didn't know what time I would finish work. Gregor still managed to squeeze us in to a little table in the bar area. Food and service was faultless.

Visited with my wife for Sunday lunch prior to shopping in Falkirk -we live locally. This is one of those eateries/pubs where there isn't really anything wrong as such but neither is it memorable.

Come here all the time with family and the place never disappoints. Staff very helpful and friendly, especially Megan. The food is always so fresh and tasty, great value for money also.

I'm a regular here and previously it was always a five star review but the last few times its been decidedly average with tonight being no exception.

We enjoyed an late lunch here today (3rd August 2018). We had grilled smoked fish, topped with bacon and Brie for my husband and without bacon for me. The fish was full of flavour and served with either chips or new potatoes, carrots, swede and garden peas. Dessert was a snowball sundae for him and tablet ice cream for me, followed by black Americano coffee. Quality of food was excellent, staff friendly and efficient. Surroundings are classic and very relaxing! Highly recommended!

The food at the Claremont Inn was very good. The menu was extensive with something for everyone. If you have a small appetite then the portions are too large for you.if you are hungry you should be satisfied. The prices were higher than most other restaurants we have used and it is only a bar that serves food.
