The Bruce in Falkirk

A regular visitor to the Bruce for both food and drinks, the service we receive is always first class, staff are always friendly and welcoming. Entertainment events are always busy and the atmosphere is good, There is a good selection of food on the menu at reasonable prices, there is also a good selection of beers and spirits available again reasonably priced.

Lovely meal and really friendly staff. Good value for really nice food.

Visited mothers day, place was mobbed and staff where working their backsides off keeping everyone happy! There was a little bit of a wait on food but that's to be expected with how busy they where and the amount of staff on shift. Staff are always brilliant here and go above and beyond, they where running back and forth from and to the kitchen at lightning speed to make sure everyone is happy. Will 100% be back.

Was very disappointed during our visit. When ordering, there was no table number so we were unsure on where to order or food to. We were told that our table was 28 however we later found out that table 28 was out of use. Whilst waiting for our food waiting staff were walking around with food unsure on which table ordered it asking majority of the tables in the area. We waited 1hr just for our starters then a further 30 minutes for mains. By this point it had been 2hrs since we walked in. Food wasn’t very warm and lots of items on the menu out of stock. Overheard other customers complaining also on wait times and food. Seemed like staff were very over worked and stressed, this should be something management should look into as it’s not fair to have only 3 floor staff on a full restaurant on Mother’s Day. Due to this we will not be back.

A lovely pub it's quite a dark theme. The staff are friendly. The food portions are huge and tasty.

My son and I enjoyed the chicken tikka skewers skillet and prawn starter and the sticky toffee pudding was good but could have done with a wee bit more sauce on . service was fast and friendly ..

Very happy with both the quick friendly service and the quality of the food. Had a shared mushroom starter followed by a pretty darn good rump steak. My wife had a gyros followed by a hot drink/brownie combo. Was first visit for me and will be back again. Thanks to becky and her co worker for good service.

Food was great unfortunately the place was freezing we had 2 keep our jackets on while eating dinner. Not enough staff at bar and need 2 be a bit more friendly.

Service was all-round excellent! From Carol (who took my order) to Lucy (who served our food), everything was polite and professional. The food was outstanding - my compliments to the chef. I would recommend this place for anyone passing by or wanting to spend a night in a great atmosphere, with lovely people!

Really good place to have a meal. Didn't get a table the first day and so had to book and go in the 2nd day. Lasagne was good but prefer the Cheesy one from Brewers Fayre which also has a bowl of salad along with it.

Food is nice but arrived on a quiz night (in the bar area) and dj liked the sound of his own voice. It was very loud in the restaurant areaand made talking to friends very difficult.

Stayed at premier inn had a mixed grill with fried onions soaked in water which tainted the rest of the meal try onion rings not worth the money came back 2 years later had the hunters chicken and the response from the kids was it’s acceptable never never again I drove 356 miles for food and bed never at this one if your manager wears gold rim glasses she needs retraining or removed from her position as her attitude as she don’t care that was the size of the chicken didn’t eat any peas like bullets and chips not cooked the Bruce steer clear from I bet I get sorry for your bad experience hope we can rectify it do better I stay in premier inns all week Larbert may choose a different one

Avoid if you want a quiet meet up with friends. The DJ has put us off as over loud. And not dog friendly as advertised. Only in the bar so don’t expect to have a meal with them

We went on a Wednesday 24th November lunchtime about 1240 on table 4. First thing we noticed is that is that it was freezing inside. We ordered our food and sat waiting for it with our jackets on. The food came lovely and hot but after 5 mins food was frozen because it was so cold inside the restaurant my hands were freezing cold. I thought it was just us but most of the other customers had their jackets on aswell even the barstaff had theirs on. Not nice eating cold food with jackets on and freezing hands.

Always a good experience. Staff friendly and polite. Meals are excellent value. In the week they do a main meal deal if you arrive before 6pm. Plenty of free parking.

Staying in the Premier Inn for work and had a meal in The Bruce, the mixed grill was cooked perfectly, staff was attentive and a delight. If I'm working and staying in this part of Scotland again I will definitely come back to The Bruce for something to eat.

Nice bar staff but the food was really poor no condiments on table. The lasagne was tiny and served burnt with dry burnt garlic bread. Food came out fast but that's no bonus when it was burnt slop. The wife had a wrap held together shoddily with a toothpick rather than folded properly and the halloumi was merely shown the grill. Good price but the food was really bad.

We walked out after finding out there was a 30min wait for food. This is the 2nd time this has happened to us after booking a table so won't be trying for a 3rd time.

Grub wis spot on! Staff were accommodating and friendly sang happy birthday to the Mrs and brung the cake over was later at night and quiet in restaurant which always suits

Just had a fabulous meal but the best thing about our entire evening was without a doubt the gorgeous Robyn, the lass never stopped working, was very busy and at times looked very understaffed, but Robyn was a wee trouper, ran herself ragged but always with a smile on her face. We would return here just to meet her again. Keep been you Robyn because you are a star 🌟

Well, let's get one thing straight. This pub is in the perfect location, especially for people staying next door in the premier-inn (which we where staying in). The staff are also incredible, we had went over the course of 3 nights. Every time we walked in we got a nice big warm Scottish welcome and got to know the staff. First time we walked in, was greeted by Rory. Asked us if it was our first time and explained the concept of the restaurant to us and introduced himself to us. Was also served by a lovely lass at the bar, think her name was Lucy. We tried a few different dishes over the few nights we went, all of them where fantastic, nice and hot and well-seasoned, there was plentiful check-backs on us as well to ensure everything was alright with our food. We stayed for a few drinks each night as well, practically until they where closing. It was a really nice and chill atmosphere, was incredibly relaxed. Couldn't help but notice the music playing in the restaurant included a lot of the Foo Fighters & Green day which I am a massive fan, Rory mentioned it was his playlist, one thing we have in common! He has fantastic music taste! 100% recommend this place if your from the area or staying next-door. It's sort of like a wetherspoons concept but 1000x better quality and FAR better service.

Came in whilst passing for a quick bite to eat had nachos and chicken fries then sirloin and Cesar salad everything delicious and came really quick. Jean served us at the bar she was amazing so funny and chatty and made us feel really welcome. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic Atmosphere, music in the restaurant was some great tunes! Asked for the young blonde hair waiter to turn it up and he did, this place and get very busy very quickly, recommend booking a table before you go as quite a lot of people where turned away as they where completely bursting at the seams. Food was fantastic, hot and despite how busy it was and being told there was a half an hour wait on food, we received our food quite quick. Staff where incredibly friendly and attentive.

Decent pub grub. Great value. The staff are young, attentive and pleasant - and you don't get all three everywhere these days. Bar and restaurant both pretty busy, atmosphere good. All in all, very good.

The Bruce was a fantastic setting for a large family gathering, and they were able to accommodate our group of 16 with only a few hours of notice, reserving a section of tables with a long bench-style seat on one side and chairs on the other. The atmosphere was friendly, and wonderfully, the music was played at a level that allowed for conversation without having to yell to be heard! The staff members were patient and kind about taking photos for the group. The food was really tasty, and very affordable! I will definitely go to The Bruce again the next time I am in Larbert.

We were staying in falkirk on part of our holiday and we came for tea on our first night and because the food and service was so good we came back for the next 3 days, highly recommended 👍👍

I would highly recommend The Bruce. We had really delicious food, and our meal was very affordably priced, particularly for a sit-down meal. The staff was friendly and accommodating, giving our large group plenty of time to review the menu (while chatting) and order, then taking pictures for us before we left. They also managed to reserve a large section for our group of 16 people with only a few hours of notice. Everyone agreed that it was an excellent choice for our lunch, and I will definitely go there again when in the area.

This place can get busy as there is a hotel next door. In the week food is served until 7.45 which feels a little early, but could be a head office policy. What sets the place apart from other Sizzling pubs, is the staff, we ate here a few times and really got a Scottish welcome from every member of the team we encountered. Even when the pub was incredibly busy the food was hot, fresh and still presented really nicely. I think the chef on duty was Graeme, we’d like to drop an extra thank you to him.

I’m up from the north east and I’ve literally just been for my tea. I swear down the food is unbelievable, it was literally the nicest mixed grill i’ve ever had.

Never had a bad experience in The Bruce! No frills pub atmosphere with pub classic food - don't expect Michelin star, but the food is good, and has always been piping hot when we've got it. You can order your food via the Sizzling Pubs app or the QR codes on the tables, which is handy. Both these options did start going slow when we were in, so it was quicker just going up to the bar - could have been an issue with the WiFi/connection or something. Staff have always been friendly when we're there. Definitely good to have it on the doorstep!

The Bruce has flourished under the new family ownership over the past couple of years. The service is friendly, the bar is dog-friendly and they even bring over water and treats. The food is a bargain- especially the appetizer details and there is something for the whole family. We had our son's 13th there, and the kids enjoyed pool. I would just suggest some more video games for all ages. It's now our go to spot for a fun family dinner.

Lovely meal. Staff were really nice too. Although sign on the door said there was only one chef, we didn't wait long for food. Downside, wanted to change mash to chips but were going to be charged extra because there was no option on the till to change it. So chose something else instead. Never known anywhere that charges extra to change one thing. Also, menus could do with a good clean! Small detail, but should be done before service. I do hope the young girl that was on her first shift enjoyed it. She was doing great and seemed to have a good crew guiding her.

Burgers, chicken skewers and fries were good. Curry was underwhelming, poppadom and rice were both undercooked and mango chutney was missing. If you order here I’d suggest sticking to the classic british food and you’ll get a good meal.

Sign on the door advised that only 1 chef was availabe and orders may take more time, I ordered and was prepared to wait, however the food took just the normal waiting time. Food was piping hot and delicous, best fish & chips that iv'e had, great gammon steak. We'll be back soon. Thanks to Team Bruce!!!!!!

Popped into The Bruce today for a spot of lunch with the missus. Very prompt service and great food at a very reasonable price. Would recommend!

This place is doing itself a disservice. Amazing choice of food, lots of different dishes a cut above the average for very reasonable prices, even without the special offers. Along with this, the quality of the food was outstanding and the description on the menu accurate to what arrives. Alas, the real let down is the service. I visited on a quiet Tuesday. No more than 15-20% full if even that much, it’s hard to tell. Ordering drinks and mains through the website / QR code was so easy and intuitive. I had to approach the bar after 12 minutes wait just to get the drinks. Then another 25-20 minutes for the mains. Then after ordering a dessert with coffee, there was no coffee, except there was, it was poured and waiting under the machine. Eventually after another wait and catching the staff’s eye a few times I approached the bar again to ask what the issue was. Don’t get me wrong the staff were so friendly and apologetic and I did get a refund for the non-delivered coffee as well as the dessert, however the real disappointment is that this place is so good, but the service has to match the quality of food. I hope this is picked up because this place has the potential to be really different from the usual selection of budget pub food. Fingers crossed.

We arrived from a long journey from Nottingham, we was staying in the Premier Inn next door and was recommended " The Bruce " we arrived and was told it was a 30 minute wait for food, the staff we're very friendly and helpful , the pub was extremely busy but it was worth the 30 minute wait the food was superb, I had the mega mixed grill and my wife and the sizzling chicken , great value and great food.. well done all .

Stayed up here for a week with work next door in the premier inn. Food great, staff very accommodating and the locals very welcoming.

Waited over half an hour for the main course, then had to remind staff after waiting another half an hour for desserts. Foods great but the service is one of the worst I’ve experienced

First time I've been in here for years. We never had food but met up with family for drinks. 11 of us were here for around 4 hours & it was a nice atmosphere. Friendly bar staff too.

Went in for some lunch for my sisters birthday, couldn't have picked a better place, mum and dad got the fish and absolutely loved it. The chicken burgers are my personal favourites, quick service and friendly staff, good prices. Highly recommend

went here for the first time last tuesday two of my group ordered fish and chips myself was one i remember eating the fish and noticed it t did not taste like fish not like haddock or cod which is mostly used in scotland it had a sort of after taste but i thoughtit may be a cheaper variety of fish later that evening and next day i had very bad bouts of diareha the other person from our group suffered the same phoned the bruce it took 3 hours for someone to answer the phone call after complaining the manager did not want to listen to me lreceived a letter from the bruces solicitors [mitchells and butlers ] who requested a dctors report a stool sample and a laboretry report and send it to them within 10 days!!!!!? after explaining to them it takes in the region of 3 weeks to see a doctor here in scotland however they wrote back today saying in the absence of all these reports they cant conclude what might have caused my symptom and found no cause for concern relating to the food served on the day and that they hoped i would continue to visit the bruce!!!!![ i dont think so] feel there was very little done regaurding my complaint by both the bruce and there solicitors iall in all it cost around £50 for our meal lndeed they never even gave any type of appoligy this experiance shows it is a poor poor qaulity of service from the bruce hope rhis review helps and i would say to others stay well clear of the bruce! thankyou
