The Bruce in Falkirk

Food was average, but the place was like a nursery, kids running about all over the place and the noise was horrendous. I don't mind kids playing but this was on another level. Won't be back and wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Nothing was great, the food was awful. It was cold, and not even cooked through. Two chicken tikkas came out not cooked, one of which was served to a 12 year old, and one to an OAP and they could have both had food poisoning. Not something that would be nice for either of them. We all were served our food out of turn of being ordered (we had four separate orders at the bar) and the two children had to wait until last to get their food even though we ordered it early. The kids burger was overcooked so much and left to go cold it had dried up and was inedible. The sweetcorn looked weird and even my boy said it tasted funny. They cooked another which we then had to wait even longer for, but the sweetcorn was still inedible. The rice was cold but dried out for both the tikkas, and the sizzling plate did not come out sizzling, but we didn't realise your policy if it doesn't sizzle you get the money back until we had left. The of the adults burger meat was also very cold. When we told the staff, we were met with eyes rolling, and non were really very apologetic. My step father managed to get a refund on his meal, but we weren't offered a refund on the rest. Then to add insult to injury, realised we had been over charged too! We were also over charged on our drinks the next evening after returning for some drinks after a funeral. The prices on the menus are different to what we were charged. I have receipts and photos to show this! We were told that there was only one chef in the kitchen, but surely it can't be hard to properly cook through the food and serve it hot?! We definitely won't be back, and will be leaving a trip advisor review also, warning others to steer clear unless they want to be either served cold food or food poisoning!!

A good selection of good value dishes. The ice cream sundaes are a highlight. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The staff were helpful in providing a bowl for the person in our party who was blind which saved food being spread around the table! Add New menu . Old favourites return with some new additions.

Chinese Belly Pork is amazing, will definitely have it again!

Ordered surf n turf sirloin and garlic prawns. Served toughest rump and 5 breaded scampi fries. Chicken skewers sizzling was a paper thin cremated chicken “fillet”. Food was shocking, all 5 of us. We were very hungry hence managed to grind our way through it. Foods cheap here but beware, it’s cheap for a good reason!

Very good food and value for money

Food was great, service was really fast and efficient and staff are very friendly, rory & darcy made sure we where looked after the whole night and made our experience fab!

Was a great experience with my girlfriend, we ended up spending 2 hours in there. Had the most insulin on that day because the food was class.

Fantastic! The fish and chips were crispy and perfect. Amazing waiters, believe it was Rory and Adam great young chaps, very happy with the service provided and food.

Private function, no glasses collected, was very cramped to move about, baby changer toilet had bad smell & not clean, good time with family though felt surroundings lacking in atmosphere, struggled with baby & pram in private area. Not great menu for kids with allergys

Great place love all the entertainment the bruce has to offer, any food i have had has been pipping hot and fresh and always get a laugh with the staff can see they enjoy there job

Absolutely rubbish. For a pub attached to a Premier Inn, waste of time. Closes at 9 as they can't be bothered working later. Says closes atv10, that's a joke. Never seen them open after 9:15. If you get here after 9pm, don't bother. Never mind how far you have driven and really would like a pint to relax, nope, not here!! Food is ok, standard pub microwave food but get out cos we want to close!! Need to get another company in to run it that is at least open till 10/10:30!

Two meals were brought out no sauce for steak .2 meals came out about 25mins after the first 2.Really dried up due to being reheated a few times .This lead to a not very nice eating experience as we were celebrating a birthday the men were nearly finished by the time the ladies got there meal

The bruce is responsible priced good guest service amazing pub food .u get what u pay for . Staff are very welcoming .they have a loyalty scheme on the app which is good if u down load .its called sizzling pubs

My husband & I went on Christmas day for lunch and we were so disappointed. The starters & desserts were good but the main courses, of which we ordered the same, were terrible. They were barely warm so the waitress took them away & returned with 2 freshly plated ones, they certainly were not hot & the turkey was processed as it had rind on each of the slices & the parsnips were hard and inedible. No one came for our wine order so had to go to the bar for it. I would not recommend The Bruce for Christmas lunch or dinner in the future as we certainly will not return.

Booked here for Christmas eve dinner back in November. Showed up at 4pm as discussed was told by manager since it was me as I'm in all the time not to worry about deposit. Go on at 4pm to be told kitchen shut. Staff had no clue and also didn't help. The only one that helped was a chef who over heard the conversation and thr upset in which this had caused. She went and set up the kitchen which was amazing. For the other staff and management not great at all. 8 people and kids waiting for there Xmas table to have a nice night and nearly ruined. Spoke to manager who said after me saying we won't be returning that's up to me if we return on not. I think some customer service training need to be re done. I wouldn't recommend

After an incident the staff and I believe even management were super supportive and helpful, went above and beyond to make sure we were okay and was escorted to our car. Couldn’t be more thankful for this as it was our first meal out as a family so we were a bit anxious in the first place. But they were all really nice and friendly and I hope they all have an amazing Christmas. Thank you for having us!

We have lunch at the Bruce once a fortnight and always enjoy the food. The staff are so helpful, friendly and kind to wheelchair users.

Popped in when was in area, great food amazing food and was a local singer in that night she was great, a real good pub that clearly offers alot more than just food and drink

4 adults and 3 children visited for my daughter in laws 32nd birthday dinner. We were refused service for 2 alcoholic drinks as the 32 year old didn't have ID. Then I was told I ( 68 ) year old Icouldn't buy a drink because I might give it to ( her)!!! Although a young looking 32 year old she definitely doesn't look 24!!!! Our whole evening was spoilt. Her children were upset and we all had to go back out in the rain and find somewhere else to eat. The staff were quite rude and obviously couldn't use their initiative. There was no duty manager on duty and the bar staff went to ask the chef!!!! You lost £160 that evening. I appreciate the time of year but this was appalling and humiliating!!!

Standard pub food, pub was quiet for Friday afternoon but can imagine good on busy night watching football

Food was warm, service was slow and it wasn't overly busy. Flat atmosphere too.

Stayed at the premier Inn next door for a few nights over a 2 week period. I ate here every night as it was that good. Excellent food. I had the sirloin steak every night I was here. Amazing value for money. And also extreamly good quality steak too. Most places don't like taking table of ones but here the staff made me feel so welcome. Getting to know me and by the end of my visit they even knew my order 😁 A special shout out to Rebecca, Robin, Rory for making me feel so welcome 😁 you are all assets to the company.

First night, arrived at 7.40pm to be told the kitchen had closed. When pressed the waitress said last orders for food was 7.45pm. When we pointed out that we still had five minutes she reluctantly took our order. Food was OK. Then at 9.20pm the staff called last orders for drinks informing us the pub closed at 10.00pm. Tonight we ate at a Chinese restaurant (very nice) and popped back to the pub for a drink. Arrived at 9.30pm to be told the pub closed at 10.30pm and last orders had been called early because there were only two people in the bar. There were four in our party. The bar maid relented and said she would serve us a single round after which we would have to leave. We didn't bother. Not sure if the management of The Bruce are aware of this early closing. The next time we visit the area we will find somewhere more hospitable to eat and drink.

Eaten here 6 times over a 2 week period. Was up here for work. I had the Sirloin Steak, this normally comes on a red hot sizzling plate but I requested it on a plate as I like my steaks more on the rare side. The steak was excellent quality and just the right amount of fat Vers meat which is what the Sirloin Steak is all about. The food was consistently excellent. Well done kitchen team. The staff are superb, nothing is too much trouble. Shout out to Rebecca, Robin, Rory and Lorraine you are all an asset to the team 😀 If I am back up this way again I will definitely be eating here. Excellent value for money also 😀 this really is a hidden gem

This place has improved so much over the last few years. We’ve been visiting more frequently recently. The staff are all so friendly and are really helpful, going above and beyond. The food was really good too (we had the Mac and Cheese, a Clucking Burger and a Salmon) and the value for money was incredible. £53 for a family of 4 including drinks is really good and I feel the prices haven’t really raised by a lot. We will definitely be back.

Lovely place. Restaurant and bar section. Venue does love music, sports and events like pub quiz. There is a Pool table. Lovely decor.

I went to The Bruce for a meal with family last night. Table booked for 6.30 I had a sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce. I could not fault the steak that was edible / however I would say that about a third of it was grizzle( see photo) The onion rings were not crispy but soft and a bit soggy. When the young waiter came to clear the table and asked if everything was ok I told him about the steak/ he then asked if we were having a sweet which we weren’t. No apology / he just walked away

I remember this place when it was the outside inn. I love how it's been done up . Food was excellent, great value for money. Food appeared quickly and lady at Bar was really friendly. Will come again next time we are in Scotland.

There was nothing great. Only two starters were available which weren't nice at all, we left them. Got the surf and turf and asked for medium rare, what I got was a tough old boot which was very well done, also sat on a bed of onions so that was all you could taste, needless to say that wasn't eaten and we left. The young waitress was hopeless and just walked away when I complained initially about the starter choices

I'm quite the regular here and the staff have always been top notch. Jean runs the place and make it work like a dream. Shoutout to Lucy who has the biggest smile when she's speaking to everyone, a genuine person who loves making us all feel welcome. The food is always served perfect, compliments to the kitchen team. I've never had to speak to anyone about an issue with the food. It is always the best

We popped in for a quick bite to eat and delighted we did. The food was gorgeous hot and tasty with loads of great choices on the menu. We had hot stack chicken burger and sirloin both we delicious and the service was brilliant. The waitress and lad behind the bar were both very friendly and attentive explaining the options for food and drinks to us and chatting about what had brought us in. Overall we were made to feel welcome and left stuffed and very happy. Will definitely be back again soon. If your in Larbert try it out you won't be disappointed.
