Courtyard in Falkirk

I visited for lunch with friends we had the set menu which was lovely ,the service was good and staff were really friendly it was a truly relaxed atmosphere .

In summary, one main course missed. Wasn't the waitress because she confirmed the order. Unfortunately she was sent out with a rubbish reason. I suspect she was just stuck in the middle. But one diner left the premises without eating. What we did have was ok, but not very hot Won't be back

Barmaid would rather chat to regulars than serve drinks to customers, really needs to learn what her job is.

18/6/18 1:10 pm. Not to thick & not to thin lovely tasting lentil soup & also great tasting non greasy stovies + good service. Coffee was nothing to write home about. 19/3/24 Back in again at 1.20pm & i think that their restaurant is under new management from the last time i was in about 6yrs ago. I went for the OAP meal, there were only about 5 customers in. The waitress was pleasant enough & i ordered their lentil soup & as in a few restaurants & cafés it came only luke warm & of course it was no bother for the waitress to heat up my watery soup, so i broke up my small non heated dinner roll & put it into my now hot bowl of lentil soup to thicken it up & it helped to add some flavour to the soup, probably 'cos of the butter on that wee roll. My main course was the fish 🐠 & chips, well french fries 🍟 not the proper chunky chips, but they tasted ok & weren't greasy. The beer battered fish tasted just great & the batter on it was nice & crisp, the peas were nice too but soon cooled down. I felt that my meal was dished up on a cold plate 🍽️ which you all know isn't right. The waitress brought my pot 🫖 of T & it was nice of her to tell me to wait a wee while for it to get strong, which it did after i stirred the pot. Another lady who might be the boss, came with a sweet sticky toffee pudding i think it was & a dollop of ice cream & i was just about to dive into it with my T spoon🥄 when she whipped it away & said it was for another table. I had a laugh 🤣 at that 'cos i thought it was a free sweet that i didn't order & was getting it as a complimentary one, because my soup 🍲 wasn't hot enough 🔥& i told her that when i went up to pay the bill. Sat.11/1/25 Nice & cosy in here & I ordered the o.a.p. meal, but sadly my lentil soup was far too watery & not much taste from it but at least it was piping 🔥 I shouldn't have ordered it because of the last time I was in. Back in the next day. Sun.12/1/25 My 🐠 & chips & peas tasted great. The batter on the fish🐠 was really tasty & lovely & crunchy & the 🐠 was nice & white & tasted very nice & the batter my haggis pakora wasn't at all soggy but nice & crisp & the sause had a nice nip from it - the chips were good too. The peas were luke warm including my plate. & all the Staff were very pleasant especially Abbie.

Food and service first class great pub grub

We booked in advance and they were friendly allowing our dog to join us as we were a table of 15 who also had 4 children so unable to sit in the bar area.

Great cosy bar,full of cheery scotch folk who gave us a warm welcome even with us being english,they're not all haters. 😄

Christmas Lunch with colleagues. Food was ok. Nothing special. Unfortunately they didn't seem able to give everyone the same portion size for the same meals. Massive difference between plates. Disappointing.

I was at The Courtyard for lunch for my sons Birthday and we are so glad we did. Last time we were here many years ago I said I wouldn't be back but it's all changed, staff, renovation ect and now it's my family's favourite place to eat. It is affordable. Wasnt left waiting for long periods before and in-between meals and that make a big difference when my son has adhd and isn't able to sit and wait for to long. Food was spectacular and has all the favourites like mac n cheese and steakpie ect. The desserts was lush. The staff we so kind and welcoming. They made my son feel extra special for his birthday and listened to everything my son had to say and he really enjoyed telling the ladies about his his day and they listened and communicated well with him and leaving my boy happy. My son ordered the chocolate brownie (his absolute favourite) they brought it out with a sparkler in it for him and he was made up and made his feel extra special. This place & the staff definitely helped to give my son thee best birthday. It's a cozy atmosphere where you just feel comfortable. Left feeling very happy and stuffed lol. 100% recommend as you won't be disappointed. Ps the salt n pepper sizzler is my new favourite, so if you like abit of spice then give it a Try. Thanks Ladies see you again soon.

Nice place, great service and atmosphere. Food was good and value for money but my starter (chilli nachos) wasn't the best. The other starters we had looked brilliant.

Great selection of food, great service, and atmosphere. Great entertainment every weekend. Friday nights are amazing with the free to enter quiz for a £40 cash prize and then karaoke/cabaret

Foods great, staff are brilliant, prices are fab. Was dissapointed that beef sizzler was taken off the menu so was gonna order steak pie (my partner got and the beef just melted in your mouth) was pointed out that the beef sizzler was on the specials. Having worked in the industry i know that specials are get rid of ur stock but i ordered it, shoulda got the steak pie. Steak strips in the sizzler were nearly chewable. Garlic mushrooms lacked garlic flavour. Was lysh though. Portion sizes are great (2 big lol) wont put us off. We will be back.

Haven't been here in the longest time. Absolutely loved it from the minute we walked through the door we were met with a warm welcome. Food was great atmosphere happy and buzzing, great choice of drinks. Can't wait to go back.

Good place to eat something. Service is attentive and courteous. Menu option with 2 or 3 dishes at lunch time. Food was good and it arrived hot on the table. Parking can be a challenge. Few options for vegetarians.

Decent food, medium sized portions, food wasnt piping hot, good atmosphere and very friendly. Often overlooked due to location, well worth a visit, competitively priced. Will definitely re visit again.

Stopped off for lunch having read the previous reviews and really glad we did. Had the dog with us so had a table in the bar. The place was fresh and clean staff were attentive and friendly and so were the locals. We went for the 2 course option and having a couple of pensioners with us they opted for the slightly smaller pensioner option. Food was really good and so reasonably priced. Couldn’t fault and we would definitely be back.

My order was rather burned around the edges but enjoyed it none the less after I removed the edges However my wife had the steak pie which was delicious she said

First time visiting, popped in for lunch was very nice. Place is clean and staff are friendly. The food didn't take very long and beer was nice and cold.

The dinner was discussing the soup and the hall smelled of pee, and what they are putting online isn’t what they give you in the pub. Service was good very polite but don’t go food was horrible I can’t get the smell of pee out my nose I couldn’t believe they gave soup like that

Was here on Saturday with family. A fair few of us and zero complaints. Food was nice, and the staff made us feel welcome and even gave the kids colouring books to keep them occupied. First time being here and we'll definitely be back. 5 star

This a great place (hidden gem) in the back rows of Falkirk high street. Had a delicious breakfast roll and a ‘hot’ latte - All for about a fiver! Staff very friendly and genuinely happy to “serve/wait” on the well laid out interior. I will definitely be back. Thanks girls.

Brilliant steak pie 🥧 big chunks of meat with no gristle or fat veg cooked to perfection, huge portion! Friendly, helpful staff and clean everywhere including the toilets. Couldn't ask for any more to be honest 🥰

We popped in today for a quick lunch with our wee Fearne (sausage dog). We had chicken curry which was delicious. Lovely friendly staff & a nice atmosphere. We will be back.

Falkirk,s hidden gem spotlessly clean staff noticed me and welcomed me as I walked through the door food was great at very competitive prices great value for money, my beer was crisp and tasty obviously looks after their pipes ect restaurant area separate from bar was modern and has a relaxing atmosphere well worth a visit will definitely visit again Thanks to the staff for a lovely evening 😀

A pleasant surprise with really tasty food, a relaxed atmosphere and friendly and knowledgeable staff who made us feel very welcome. We went at lunchtime on a week day and it wasn’t too busy. The haggis fritters for starter where especially good but the soup of the day was a very close second! Mains were great too. The desserts were all really delicious and impossible to choose which was best! All in all a really good place to eat.

Had the best meal I have had in years . Birthday treat by wife and daughter . Had sweet potato and chill soup mrs had breaded mushrooms daughter had bruschetta as did 1 of kids . Other 2 had cheesy nachos . Had steak pie ,Mrs had rib eye medium ,daughter had chicken fajita sizzler . Kids had pizza . And drinks . Everything was beautiful . Was talking to staff they do breakfast from 8 lunches and tea . They do special deals for oaps and kids can eat for 1 pound on some deals If your in falkirk and looking for to eat . Through the alley across from the steeple Staff were good too . Kids couldn't eat pizza took half of it home

Considering the Pandemic we're still in, this business is doing an incredible job. Great atmosphere and always conscious of the CoVid guidelines. Highly recommend as a venue for date night.
