Tuckers Inn, Invergordon in Highland

Stayed at Tuckers for 3 nights on a golf break. Ticked all the boxes. The breakfast and evening meals were excellent. Great to chat with the staff. Excellent view from the the breakfast room

Its true what they say about this place! The food is really excellent. Chicken stuffed with haggis is a winner! Great young chef, top lad and runs the family business with his sister and his mum

We stop off for a drink on our NC500 trip. After seeing the menu we stayed for dinner. Lovely sea view. Excellent food, huge portions and friendly, helpful staff

Having explored the town centre we were disappointed not to find a good and friendly bar. Unfortunately Covid seems to have wiped out the regular hostoleries. The Tucker inn is a little out of town. But certainly worth the walk

Hotel rooms were comfortable and clean. The dinner service was good and food was freshly prepared, with generous portions. We had some delicious salmon, venison burger, beef burger, chicken stuffed with haggis. Ice creams were super, and they produced a fresh strawberry and cream desert for one of our party who is a diabetic. Breakfast - a delicious and very generous portion of smoked salmon and eggs, poached eggs on toast and an assortment of cereals and juices.

Turned up on the spur of the moment and were not disappointed. Great spot on the banks of the Cromaty Firth. The food was tasty and good value and certainly no complaints about the portion size. Definitely worth a visit.

Good quality and prices for food. Only the drinks are expensive. The hotel is run down. There are many things that are in need of renovation. The location is good to explore the spot. The service was great.

Arrived late without a reservation. The lovely staff found us a table took our order and quickly brought us drinks .the food was excellent, fish highly recommended and I am a bit fussy about fish. Thanks everyone front of house and whoever was in the kitchen cooking that fish. Much appreciated.

We had no problems with the hotel in itself but we were quite disappointed in the service we received from the 2 members of staff who were working. We didn’t receive the friendliest welcome when checking in. At the time they asked if we wanted dinner in the hotel which we said we did. They asked when and we said just whenever is available to which we got told to come back at 7.30pm. We arrived back downstairs at 7.30pm and felt like we were just annoying the staff by asking for our table which they hadn’t actually reserved for us at all. They were very moody when we said we had been told to come back at this specific time. I also understand it was a busy night as there was a large party in at the same time but the 2 members of staff made some comments to each other, fairly loudly, in front of everyone in the dining room about how much they hated this hotel and working there when they were clearing plates away. When we also received our food we never once got asked if everything was ok or if we had wanted any dessert or more drinks so we ended up sitting waiting for 20 minutes after we had finished eating then just resorted to paying and going back to our room. Some guests at breakfast the following morning also commented on the service from the night before. They had arrived into the dining room round 8pm after being told to come at that time and they said they got served their main meal and 1 drink and then the music got turned off and the lights at the bar went out signalling it was time for them to leave. They asked for another drink but apparently got told no as it was coming up for 9pm and the staff were finishing soon. They also never got given the chance to even pay for their food. All in all an ok hotel but service really lets it down. Wouldn’t recommend!

Excellent views over the firth. Good menu selections, large portions well prepared, cooked and presented. Staff friendly, professional and engaging. Only downside for me was the seating, the majority of which had seen better days and were particularly uncomfortable.

Had haddock and chips I’m a chef for 30 years oil needed changed when I tasted it my partner had macaroni it was cheesy which he likes so loved it sadly I didn’t like mine hence why I would go back restaurant is dated where we sitting the blinds had water marks on them no photos sadly then entrance is dirty as in the carpet it’s embarrassing who ever owns this needs to have look at what customers see I seen over 20/40 things wrong

Short overnight stop here. Room was comfortable but basic. Breakfast was very nice. Nice view over to the Black Isle.

Stayed here for business. Love the location, staff friendly and helpful, bar was great and food was fantastic. Parking wasn’t an issue and I like the ambiance of the place. Downside for me my single bed was equipped with a memory foam mattress which I didn’t get on with but that’s probably just me! tv didn’t work on almost any channels (not a complete game changer for me) Wi-Fi code wasn’t shared so don’t know how good or otherwise that was. Bathroom was small but functional. If I stay again I would like to try a different room to give it a better shot. Overall I like the place and hope to return and would recommend.

The hotel was everything I’d expected from a small pub/hotel, room was clean, small but comfortable, evening meal was ok, breakfast was good. What wasn’t so good was the welcome I received, or rather didn’t… The lady I saw was to say the least, frosty. I thought that was just her way, but then when she was dealing with locals who were eating there she was chatty and laughing, so in terms of hospitality, nill points.

Overpriced food and service left a lot to be desired. Not the usual warm highland welcome and certainly not a good advert for Invergordon or to give people a reason to pop in. I went hoping to rave about this place so lots of people would visit but sadly I can't. The food was average pub grub at the very best but the conservatory has a great view of the cromarty firth. Basics like can we get you anything else is everything okay with your food,would you like another drink etc were all absent. It felt like the lady really did not want to be there. Some better interaction with next tablw who may have been regulars.

Don't be put off by the building. The carpet in the entry area probably couldn't even be saved with a good steam clean, the tables are bashed and the varnish is heavily scratched, the bar area is very dim and dark brown, probably hasn't seen fresh paint since 1977 but the food is lovely. And clearly well appreciated by locals as it was pretty full on a Monday evening. It's not haute cuisine, but straightforward food, big serves and great value. Even the side salad is good... at this price you'd expect lots of cheap lettuce to bulk it up, but not here... here you get proper salad leaves and even some pea shoots, a halved cherry tomato and a large slice of fresh and crispy cucumber. Would you drive from Inverness for dinner here? Probably not. But if you need a pit stop just off the A9 it is ideal. Otherwise, it's the sort of place you're pleased to have near where you live. Great view of the Moray Firth. Service is blunt and direct, unless you're a regular when there's lots of chat and banter.

Lovely welcome. Friendly service. Excellent food. We all had something different and each of us enjoyed our choice very much. Very relaxed atmosphere with splendid views! A lovely afternoon.

Food was excellent, was just expecting pub food but it was one of the best meals I’ve had in ages, I had Cajun salmon . staff friendly also

Voor een nacht kamer geboekt en ook gegeten in restaurant. Niet verwacht maar heerlijk gegeten, voorgerecht champignons in witte wijn kaassaus, lekker op smaak met lekker smeuïg warm brood erbij. Hoofdgerecht Housemade hamburger met bacon en cheese, mooie opmaak bord. Hele vriendelijke humorvolle bediening, echt een aanrader.

Bland food and expensive for what it is. Scampi is just a mush inside the breadcrumbs. Seafood prawns are tasteless defrosted ones. Smoked salmon and mussels ok. Salad nice. Chips are skin on fries - from the freezer. Very slow service. The view is good but paying tourist prices for this ok meal - will only go back to have a drink outside in summer.

The hotel was great. Nice big room, and the bathroom was huge. Bed nice and comfy. The food was amazing. Had the chicken leek and bacon pie, and my partner had the trio of seafood. We had the sunday dinner. Plenty of roast beef and trimmings. The breakfast every morning was good. There are plenty of choices. The staff are brilliant and very helpful. Great place.

After a very long wait, when the food finally arrived it was nice however the staff serving were rude.

Good points: Lovely location - overlooking the Cromarty Firth and very picturesque (although Invergordon itself doesn't have much to offer, but I guess you use the location purely as a base.) Very cheap - think it was about £60 a night b&b. I cannot complain...

This local restaurant has surpassed normal expectations for ‘pub grub’. Both the quality and refined presentation was parallel what I would expect in much more expensive city restaurants. The service was very good whilst remaining relaxed and unpretentious. This is ideally suitable for families. The staff were happy to alter the menu to suit individual needs. Overall a very pleasant experience and one which I would recommend and look forward to repeating.

The wife and I stayed here for 2 nights and ate here both nights. The food was great, the staff were lovely and I can't fault the food at all.

About a 15 minute walk (to the right) from the cruise ship. Walk along High Street and bend to the left along the water.

We stayed here overnight, as we were touring Scotland using the North Coast 500.

Check in was easy and room was a good size and very comfortable. Bathroom also a good size with walk in shower. Hairdryer and toiletries were supplied and we had a nice view of the Firth. We opted to have dinner in the restaurant and although food took a little while to appear it was delicious. Prices were also very reasonable. Breakfast options were somewhat limited but fine nonetheless. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and restaurant.

The ship arrived just before the shop's opened - but we walked the main street and asked a shop owner where we can have lunch. He suggested Tuckers Inn which was a short walk from the cruise port. An excellent selection of local beers - classic fish and chips and wifi access. Great stop to refresh and sample the local delights.

Clean and well presented room with modern bathroom in older buiilding overlooking the water. Friendly staff and lovely breakfast, evening menu excellent, generous helpings, food lovely.

On 9th May the Rotary Club of Tain and Easter Ross held our first lunchtime meeting in Invergordon at Tuckers Inn. Booking our party was very easy and even though there was a cruise ship in port, we had excellent service and an enjoyable lunch. We will surely return in the future for informal lunchtime get togethers.

We stayed in Invergordon and had dinner at the pub a couple of times. The food here was really nice and the staff was very friendly too. I had the Salmon and the burger which were both nice choices. Can absolutely recommend this place.

Sadly finding this place is going down hill with problems during my last 3 visits. Visit 1. My wife and I ordered starters and a main,took ages to come and when they did they took the starters and mains out together. When we mentioned this she took the mains away then came back with them 1 minute later saying nothing they could do about it. Visit number 2 food was ok but nothing special but then when went to pay they gave us someone else’s bill. There was only 2 tables in use so not as if was slammed. Sadly we never realised until halfway home when thought about how much it was. Visit number 3 which is the most recent one. I ordered the masala curry and my wife ordered the chilli chicken starter but as a main. The curry was far from a masala and was so bland it was unreal, the wife’s meal was ok but far from what it used to be. I think it will be a good while before we go back again and will take something special for us to go back.

We phoned to book table for 4.... booking accepted for 7pm. Often had a meal here when visiting area. Our friends are locals & go regular. Oh no when we git there mothers day meals. Ordered our meal ... turned up an hour and a half later. Yes lively but nit the issue. The manageress/ person in charge wasn't taking our point serious ,only gave use a round of drinks off .... out of 4 meal none of us completed our plates as well past eating time . There was workmen staying staff seemed to be more interested in them , not really attentive as such. Disappointed tonight...although food tasty but TOO LATE folks. Please take note , thanks

I have visited Tuckers on many occasions, food is always great. Very friendly and happy staff. If you are in the area it's well worth the visit.

Good food. Excellent prices. We were in a large group. Large portions and delicious simple cooking. The sticky toffee pudding is really nice.

Situated overlooking the Invergordon access to port. Beautiful views of both wildlife and modern rigg technology. Comfortable dining area and good service. Very nice welcome given to us on arrival and excellent food provided.

I've reviewed Tucker's Inn before and it's as good as ever. Expect good, well-cooked, hearty food in big portions. This is not a posh restaurant but it's always well worth a visit.

4 of us stopped to eat at Tuckers Inn as it was close to the port where our cruise ship was docked.

When we arrived, we were given a warm welcome but the lady who I presume was in charge. She showed us our room which was clean and looked to have everything we would need for our overnight stay.

Me and my two friends had booked a table for 6:30pm. Got in and sat at our table, no music and very small. Ordered our drinks and starters which were fine. For main I ordered the sea food platter (massive sea food lover as I grew up on an island) no one approached us to ask if our starters were okay or even our mains. One of my friends said at one point “it’s like we’re not here”. The prawns were definitely out of a packet just defrosted tiny and rubbery. The salmon was warm on the plate and didn’t taste fresh like it had been left out for a while. Herring was okay but I decided I didn’t like the dish as a whole so I went up to the girl at the bar because no one was coming over and asked for a second dish. She said that was fine and would sort everything out for me. Desserts were the best. Came to paying at the end and we went up to the bar and got things split, the seafood platter was still there so I said to the older women serving us that I had got something else and the reasons why. She said to me that I would still have to pay for it and it wasn’t THEIR fault it wasn’t to my liking then repeatedly said there was nothing wrong with it. I wasn’t told this when I asked for my other option and I just wouldn’t of bothered getting another. The lady never once came over after my complaint to look into it. I then described how it didn’t taste fresh especially the prawns, she then continued to argue with me saying “where does it say you don’t have to pay for a meal you ordered just because you didn’t like it”. When it wasn’t just me not liking it was actual complaints. I then asked to speak to someone higher as she was the manager on duty. She picked up the phone went in the back and closed the door on all 3 of us. 5 minutes later came back out saying “it will be coming off your bill but the boss isn’t happy and what you’re doing isn’t right” so out of order, honestly never experienced such a stale attitude and no care at all to how our dining was. I work in the catering industry and this was just a hassle. Quick photo of prawns.

The portions are very generous and the food is really good. It's nothing fancy but it's very good home cooked food. The homemade cheesecake is really good, a piece is enough for 2 people.

We visited this restaurant for a late Sunday lunch. The food was excellent with generous portions. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We had a seat by the window looking out over the firth. The restaurant sits on the edge of the firth with a beautiful view. We will certainly return here on our next visit to the area.

This hotel is fantastic. The room was very comfortable and had everything you need. The breakfast was brilliant. You won't be left hungry. We had our everything meals here too. The portions were very generous. We would highly recommend this hot.

First time in Invergordon .. parking seemed a bit of a nightmare, however looking for a bite to eat and a liquid refreshment we chose this place. Please excuse my lack of piccies but with elderly family and they don’t like people getting out their mobiles in restaurants. You know me I like to take piccies .

Tuckers is a great place to eat, been several times in the past & always enjoy the food, the service is always really good and the staff are always accommodating & they take the time to have a chat etc. Highly recommend for anyone looking for somewhere good to eat

Stopped here for lunch when travelling north, literally fell over it on our travels. Got a nice lunch, good sandwiches and chips. Price reasonable, good service. Staff fine. Only issue was state of disrepair of gents toilet could have been better.

Very pleasant bar/restaurant located on the harbour front with front patio area at the far end of Invergordon town. There was a very good selection of drinks (quite a few local beers on draught and bottled)and a meal menu was available.The place was busy with diners (although we did not eat ourselves). The place was quite modern on the inside. Nice experience.

We called in with friends and were apprehensive as the place is really tatty and we chose to put up with a family from hell who were sat nearby. We all went for fish and chips which turned out to be absolutely excellent, the only negative being they don’t/won’t serve it with peas, mushy or otherwise.

Stopped in for lunch, great views and great food. The fish and chips was excellent. As was the chicken sandwich. You get plenty of food.

Stop here many times for breakfast and for lunch. And never had a bad experience lovely and clean. Food great and fresh you won't be disappointed

We booked separately which I don’t think helped but we all were able to arrive and dine together at a mutually agreed time. Rooms were clean and tidy and we dined in. Evening meal was great, recommend the chicken stuffed with haggis. Breakfast was fantastic, staffs made us welcome and would recommend staying here

Hubby and I decided to try Tuckers one Saturday evening. First impression was that it was a tired-looking room but with wonderful views to the Croimarty Firth. We started with potato wedges and onions rings. Hubby said the wedges were delicious and my onion rings with three dips were just scrumptious. Very generous portions.

Ok for a meal stop, and the breakfast was great, - However the rooms are a let down. Very small and low quality, noisy too as you can hear other guests above and in the next room.

Just been in Scotland and revisited Tucker's Inn. As good as ever. Look out for Karen the amazing waitress who is always welcoming and friendly and can remember a full table's order without writing it down!

Had dinner here whilst staying at the hotel Portions are huge, I feel that the hotel caters for workers on the rigs, if you've been at work all day you'd manage them. Served hot and fresh but too much.
