We have frequented the Taybank for many years as we love to visit Dunkeld and they are very doggy friendly which helps. The bar downstairs is friendly, and when the v music starts it is rocking. The restaurant is beautifully designed with a nod to its’ Georgian bones but decorated in vibrant colours with equally vibrant paintings. Service is polite and friendly, and when you offer conversation with them, they are more than happy to join in. The start of the show has to be the food however, I don’t know who they have in the kitchen but my word, it delivered on all three courses. The menu is small yet perfectly formed. Notably, the cod was cooked to perfection, not only that, the seasoning was also on point. We opted for cheese at the end and to my delight they served it will some sourdough discard crackers with a sprinkling of Maldon sea salt. I make these crackers at home, never have I managed to get them s as fine and crispy as these, and to make them in such large quantities needs immense skill as they don’t keep, they need to be made in the day… It should also be noted that the wine list is well curated, every wine we tried was quality and incredibly reasonable by the glass. They also make a fabulous negroni We will return, can’t fault this place

It was a cold spring evening when we came to the establishment, St paddies day to be exact and the atmosphere was that of a funeral. The place was like a haunted ghost ship without a soul in sight .When me and my companions approached the bar a rude barmaid who posed as the “manager” refused one of our ID’s which was a provisional drivers license that was NOT expired may I add!!! based on the fact it looked like an “old photo”. This is not legal and simply will not do. over all ,this ruined our celebration of st paddy’s day and set the tone for the entire evening…. We are not a happy bunch.

Sunday roast, you might think beefeater but think again, undercooked hard almost raw potatoes and parsnips, cold sirloin with lots of fat and cold turkey, staff on phones and kitchen cook wanders out and uses his phone at the dining area window, hands in pockets.

First time visitor to The Boatyard, Lochwinnoch & very poor service. No waiter/waitress service when dining outside, requiring customers to order & pay upfront at the bar which had only one person serving. Zero flexibility when it came to menu choices, but the real rub came when they sneakily charged me £40 the following day for no reason. Still trying to get this money back with an explanation & apology despite numerous calls & emails. Would not recommend.
