The best restaurants serving British food in Scotland

We needed reservations but stopped in a little early and the maitre d' accommodated us. The food was fine but burgers in Scotland are not a match for Texas beef. The views from the windows were magnificent in the evening.

Placed an order tonight at scoops for old school cake, as I have done many times. The picture below is what came.. I called them to say I had the wrong order . To be told I’ve been told to say that’s old school cake . I know that’s not correct as I have bought it many times. I said to the young lady you can’t change a cake and then advertise it to what you would like it to be called. No apology or offer to change to a different cake but they did refund the money after hanging up and picked the cake up. Indifferent attitude very disappointing

Christmas Lunch with colleagues. Food was ok. Nothing special. Unfortunately they didn't seem able to give everyone the same portion size for the same meals. Massive difference between plates. Disappointing.

Been going to Dom’s for years now, but no more after buying a large bottle of Irn Bru with the meals, £3.70 for 2 litres, sorry but at that price you are just robbing your customers,

The food was great, the staff were kind and helpful and the building is beautiful and very clean

Attended the silent disco at The Centurion last night and had an amazing time! The service was excellent, and the event was really well-organised. Everything ran smoothly, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Would definitely return for another night of fun!

¡Qué desastre es la organización de este café! Fui allí a almorzar para reunirme con amigos que solían dirigir be&Bs, así que saben una o dos cosas sobre cocinar y servir comida. Todos acordamos que necesitaba una buena revisión. Al parecer, sólo había cuatro funcionarios que trabajaban para atender más de 100 coberturas. Uno trabajando en la cocina, uno limpiando mesas y dos sirviendo comida; de hecho, uno sirviendo comida y bebidas y otro tomando el pago. Tardaron más de media hora en servir y en las dos horas que estuvimos allí la cola no disminuyó. Algunas personas solo querían una bebida caliente y un pastel, pero tenían que esperar junto a las personas que querían una comida. Se necesitan al menos dos miembros más del personal, uno que sirva comida, otro que prepare bebidas y otro que sirva sopa, tal vez mientras que el número cuatro podría recibir el pago. Las mesas de limpieza de las niñas no tenían modales ni idea de que había que mover las cosas de la mesa para darle una limpieza a la mesa, no se usó aerosol y cuán limpio estaba el paño sigue siendo un misterio. Quien dirija este café debe mirar bien cómo se administra este lugar y emplear más personal. La comida era realmente sabrosa pero bastante cara y la elección de ensaladas necesitaba un ojo nuevo. La cafetería está en un lugar tan bueno con fácil aparcamiento y una encantadora zona de estar exterior que se estaba utilizando ayer en octubre. Si la gerencia necesita ayuda para reorganizarse, hay cuatro ex be&be damas que están llenas de sugerencias. Mientras tanto no volveremos y no estaremos sugiriendo encontrarnos con amigos aquí en el corto plazo.

We booked this Hotel for the visit to the Lockerbie memorial garden and from the moment we arrived we were made so welcome and could not do enough for us. The Room was amazing and the view so picturesque, The whole hotel is spotless and our room was so clean and so comfortable we had the best nights sleep in a very long time. The bar is so friendly and everyone so welcoming. The Dining area is first class and the food (Evening and Breakfast Meals) were exceptional and high Quality, all the staff cannot do enough for you and so friendly. We have stayed in plenty 5 star hotels and none compared to this little Gem. We go as far as saying this is the best hotel we have ever stayed in so far. How this is only a 3 star I will never know. We will definitely be booking here again…. Thank-you to all staff…

Overall correct but below our expectations: the blue cooking required for the beef was limited, the accompaniments not very elaborate or sophisticated and the industrial sauces (what a shame!) Plates generously served. Certain whiskey references presented on the menu were no longer available and obtaining advice is not easy. Approximate but attentive and friendly service.

Very convenient walk from the marina and we came here 3 times over the course of a week or so, whilst sailing from Oban. Nothing fancy, but good piping hot food in the upper bar. Downstairs on a Thursday, local bands play which are very popular. Met loads of tourists and had some very interesting conversations!

So after reading a few rubbish reviews I was quite nervous to eat here. My other half had steak.and ale pie ,he said it was fabulous. I got a chase burger and it was great ,came with bacon onion rings coleslaw ,all of it perfectly cooked and hot. staff were helpful and polite. highly recommend

Really nice food and a good mix of small and large plates for all appetites, along with some original cocktails and an excellent wine list. Great atmosphere and service too.
