Typical Weatherspoons pub very busy. Very good value, especially for location. Edinburgh pubs get full on a Saturday night, so you will need to get out early.

staff here have no respect for customers, drinks were ok however the staff are always in a bad mood and are disrespectful to customers.

A very big and nice bar but only for cheap food. Practically self-service. It's fine to drink. I wouldn't repeat to eat.

Very crowded pub with basic food and hygiene standards. We visited on a Friday lunch time was very busy but we managed to find a table.

A very nice pub, with good food, a large selection of beer and other non-alcoholic drinks. The prices are very affordable and the place is located very close to the center and Princes Street.

Arrr good old spoons, food was as it should be inside there the overall decor of thr place is fantastic.

Double American cheese burger, burnt cutlets.... I expected something better than an imitation of pseudo MC food....

First impression, no toilet paper in the toilet. Ordered cocktails, pizza and scampi and chips. Cocktails only tasted rum and sugar. The pizza was overcooked, but still the best part of the meal. The scampi was mushy and tasted fishy. If you come, don't order the food. Or the cocktails.

The food is good and at an ok price. The service leaves something to be desired as everything is done via an app and the waiters barely speak to us.

Spoons is not your traditional pub, since you'll order and pay with your phone. BUT the location is marvellous - just using an old bank building while keeping most of its original interior just gives off a very chill and comfortable vibe. The food and drinks are quite good and compared to other pubs rather cheap. 10/10 would drag all my friends there again!

Good place with affordable prices in Edinburgh to have beers and cubas. The chicken wings, although spicy, are very good. The tables are very dirty and not cleaned but we give it 4 stars for how good it is and the speed and attention of the waiters.

Swift service, decent portions and good prices.

Very curious place to visit. It is an old side converted into a pub. With an extensive menu of beers as well as food. The food is ordered through the application from the table and they bring it to you. The old bank safe is still there so you can take photos with it.

A unique restaurant in a former bank This restaurant has an amazing atmosphere as it is located in what used to be a bank - it even retains a safe! The food is delicious and is brought to your table after you order, although the only downside is that there is no full table service, as you have to pick up the drinks yourself. Despite this, the experience is very pleasant and worth visiting.

Popped in while passing, expecting the usual Wetherspoons experience. But no - gorgeous building, great features, high ceilings, and bright and airy. Only had drinks but were amazed at the highly reasonable prices in a major city centre. Recommended.

The meat is very well done, the quantity and the price are very good, for EDINBURGH, the service is impeccable.

The bar was very busy and the only seats we could get were at a table that had lots of empty dishes and glasses on it. There was a member of staff clearing other tables but after trying to attract their attention they completely ignored us. Another member of staff came along and we asked for the table to be cleared. The price and quality of the drinks was excellent. No complaints there. The mens toilets were absolutely disgusting. Although this place is very good value for money I'm afraid due to the cleanliness of the bar we won't be returning

Huuuge Whetherspoons in Central Edinburgh. Also accessible from Rose Street. If you are a Whetherspoons regular I, do not have to tell you about the concept. If not this is a good alternative to all the Rose street boozers. After revisiting, this is probably still one of the best places on Rose Street for a beer.

Told them my id was fake still let me in 10/10 service wouldn’t go past it

Very crowded but that's to be expected for the location. Other than that I was a nice experience to be able to chill and chat with a friend over good food and a few drinks.

Visited for lunch went to place order at the bar...such a hassle to swap sweet chilli sauce for red sliced chillies instead. The person serving had to check with many different staff on the bar first then someone went to check with the kitchen! Id already said this had been swapped before so didnt see what the issue was. It was finally okd by the kitchen. Not sure what the problem was considering red chillies would be cheaper than the sauce? Food came it was ok had better elsewhere. Ladies toilet sinks water all over the surfaces and a drain smell on route to the toilets. Tables messy not wiped when cleared they werent busy at this stage either. Maybe go somewhere else next time.

Table 72. Ordered 2 pizzas, both really average and too sweet. As we were eating, a member of staff was moving books to and from the shelves right next to us. Leaving us in a dust cloud. Clearly, no common sense within staff members 'Won't be back'

Food was terrible!! Our 3 Breakfast was absaloute awful.. Pepperoni pizza was dry and slightly warm as if it had been sat for ages..

Place to drink. Noisy.. If you want to eat something, it is quite complicated, since the low tables are almost always occupied. In its favor: it is worth at least going to see it.

Huge place, very original, it had been a bank. Fast but good food. You have to go to the bar to order but they bring it to your table. High tables with stools. Good price.

On a recent trip to Edinburgh from Ireland to visit our 23 year old daughter, we popped in for a few drinks. Our daughter was asked for ID, which is fine. The problem was, the server refused to accept her Irish driving license and refused our request to speak to her supervisor or manager, stating they were busy. To add insult to injury, she lifted my daughter's drink and refused to refund us the price of the drink. Maybe she was having a bad day, but to treat customers in this way was disgraceful. We will not be back.

Imbetween breakfast and lunchtime during my visit, so just right!! 'Spoons do fabulous conversions of historic buildings and this is no different. A former bank, hence the name, amazing ceiling!!

The service was good. The barman allowed me to try one of the ales on tap before ordering. He recommended a local Edinburgh ale which I enjoyed. When I had an issue ordering through the app, another staff member patiently guided me through the process. The food came quickly and was hot but I felt the steak was quite fatty and a little too overcooked for medium. Finally the location is very convenient and the atmosphere was good. There's a smaller section away from the main bar for diners who prefer a quieter space.

Haggis should be mandatory in all spoons

There was a bit of confusion about my GF order and the manager came out to our table. He made sure that the order was ok and GF. The place was pretty busy and I appreciate that the manager took the time to confirm my order and that I was gluten safe.

It is the typical Scottish pub with a lot of variety of food. The prices are very reasonable. I recommend it. The site is very emblematic.

A large pub and restaurant in former Bank of Scotland premises. Great choice of beers, drinks etc and in a large area with high ceiling. In- and outdoor seating, with room for lots of people. Really nice place and with great prices. Hard to beat combination. I wish we would have found this place earlier!

It's always very busy in here and sometimes you can have issues with connecting to the wifi/phone signal so if your ordering through the app can be a bit tricky. Other than that, food and drinks good and reasonably priced. As its always busy it's also always loud! So if a "quiet" night is on your cards then here is not for you

Got a table in a side room so it was relatively quiet compared with the main room. Easy to order at the table and of course cheap prices. Overall much better than expected when one says Standing Order. Main room is far too busy and noisy to tolerate for me.

Just popped in for a bit and a beer from Canada. This was a great price and great atmosphere for a lunch. Pub like, lots of seating fyi order at the bar or on their QR code. Can pay cash at the bar.

What a building, stunning architecture with typical wetherspoons value. You know what you're getting, you know what it costs.

Always been a 5 star gaff this but deserves 6 stars now that remainers have stopped going. No more overhearing bad political takes or karens complaining about microagressions. It's just you, a cheap pint and microwave food served on plates your gran would be proud to have in her display cabinet. Bliss

It's rare that I give a lower rating on the likes of Google however staff encourage the use of ordering via the website.. 3 times it charged to the account which was refunded eventually and then still had to order at the counter. Don't promote and app / website of it doesn't work

This was a superb pub for drinking, showing beautiful architecture underneath its glass roof! Multiple floors is a nice touch, camera ornament at the start helps feel welcome and counter is well-presented with many different craft beers too.

Original place! Friendly staff and good food for a very reasonable price. Top-notch children's menu. Ideal for a drink, a meal as a couple or with the family.

Incredible restaurant located in an old bank maintaining the original aesthetics. Fast and friendly service. The fish and chips were a bit dry since the batter did not completely cover the fish. The fried chicken with soy sauce is very delicious.

Restaurant in an old bank, it's super curious and has very cool things, it deserves the worth taking a look inside before stopping to have something It has a wide variety of beers. We ordered fish and chips and also chicken battered, highlight the chicken as the fish We noticed it a little dry, but still the experience was good.

Impressive old building ( toilets downstairs & along a corridor, a bit like a lot of Wetherspoons, haha ) . Good beer choice. We didn't eat . Very well located fir some of the Fringe .
