The best restaurants serving British food in Scotland

Wow... we have been visiting here for over eight years, and we can't believe the impressive change this year, last year we thought it had improved from years earlier but this year it has taken a huge leap in to (my opinion) a 5⭐️ establishment. The food is freshly prepared by a very creative chef, the best Cullen Skink we've ever tasted (and we've visited Cullen, and even they couldn't cook it as good as the Lorne). We are huge seafood fans, so we also had to sample the mussels and seafood platter. The portions are plentiful, but we were overwhelmed by the quality of the food. We visited several times during our stay this week and we have not been disappointed My husband also had the steak one time and it was delicious (the melting in your mouth type of meat) The staff are very welcoming and attentive even during busy times. In our opinion this is the best place to eat in Oban.

As a bar I imagine it is good. But in terms of food, really move on. The mac & cheese is very bland, the small salad offered consists of 3 leaves of lamb's lettuce and three pieces of watermelon, the three bowls of fries (very generous) are completely frozen (priced at £10 anyway).

Lovely little bar. Staffs are very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately they stopped doing food so not had the chance to try. I will be back just cos I love how quirky the bar is.

Went for a lunch date with my wife. Couldn't fault the food and the cocktails were perfect. You must try George's Kiwi Daiquiri, simply the best🤤

Another great meal on Saturday night. Always great service. I had the lasagna and it was lovely.

Great little boozer, bit pricey for certain beers & lagers but other than this is great! Didn't stop for food though.

Excellent service from the waiters who are very friendly 😍 The atmosphere of the place is beautiful, authentic, classic and glamorous! ✨ The food, very good. Typical local flavors. 👍

Here for dinner whilst in the area on business the service was efficient and the food was somewhere between average and good, nothing great but you know it was fine, the place was heaving and I was impressed with the efficiency of the staff and the speed of the food

Food was mediocre at best. The food wasn’t really hot and half the menu had been removed because of some sort of “tech issue”. Drinks were ok and food came out very quickly but not sure I would recommend this for anything other than a drink. But it was nice and warm!

Very good service, Hannah has given excellent service she has gone beyond our expectations and served well. Good job Hannah keep up the good work.

I tried focaccia with egg for my brunch. This is an amazing place. Very tasty food and brilliant view of the beach. The staff is also friendly and nice 🤍🤍

Fantastic food, great staff, wonderful atmosphere, a true gem in the west end. A must try.
