We went there for the first time and came away still hungry as we didnt like the menu, although the staff where very nice.

Went for the first time with friends. Bright warm and friendly. The young staff are a credit. Enthusiastic professional with great people skills. The food was amazing! Great food deals too. We will definitely return! Well done guys!

Would definitely recommend this place. Located out with town centre which is nice. The atmosphere was relaxed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. I ordered the pizza which was one of the nicest pizzas i had had in a restaurant. Will definitely beback

Was at a wedding reception here, there was water dripping quickly from the air conditioning near the ceiling down on top of everyone, judging by the state of the walls this was by far not a new fault. This was reported 3 times to staff before they turned it off which wasn't ideal either as the room was hot. All the guest against that wall had to move their tables out from the wall as they were getting wet. The carpet was all wet too where it was dripping really not nice. The steps between the bar/toilets and the rest of the room are steep. Canny say I was impressed

First time visit for many many years. Staff were lovely. Restaurant looks nice. Food was very good and comparitively priced with other local eateries. Food was served lovely and hot

Great restaurant, stunning inside, great atmosphere, staff lovely and attentive and the most important part - the food was fantastic! Also very impressed with the vegan options on offer, had the vegan burger and it was delicious! Definitely worth a visit :)

Had lunch here with my daughter last Thursday. Really nice and very friendly staff. Also have a beautiful outside area when weather is suitable. Lovely palm trees and sun trap. Woykd recommend.

Oxgang house hotel is a brilliant family dinning. Been a few times after i have been to the hartbeeps group with my son. Ive had a few breakfasts there in the mornings and has baby changing facilitys and high chairs one thing i think they need to change is the sliding doors ive had difficulties closing the door over & i feel it has a gap in the door aswell.

To be honest was unsure when told coming here, as last time was disappointed, so was very pleasantly surprised how good the food was, as well as the service, Adam was very attentive . The food was all great, I had the peri peri burger, great tasting burger and French fries were great, wife had chicken burger and father in law the fish !and chips, no complaints from either. Highly recommended and will be back for the next family meal A+++++++

What can I say apart from stunning! The house stack, black pudding, goats cheese and caramelized red onion. Wow! The confit feather blade of beef was melt in your mouth. I cannot recommend this place enough. People you need to try this place.

Had a fabulous meal. Superb menu with great choices - can't wait to go back and try something else. Food was very well presented. Staff were very pleasant and helpful even when restaurant was very busy. Only complaint would be that it was a bit noisy, music could be a bit quieter.

Chose to stay in Oxgang with my partner on a Tuesday night, arrived in the early evening and were met by I'm assuming the manager who showed us to our room. The room was spacious, clean and light. Had dinner the same evening and it was superb, the food and service alike. Good home cooked food and very reasonable pricing. Will definitely visit again when we're in the area.

Amazing food, staff friendly and really reasonably priced. Cocktails are also amazing. Been here for dinner, been here for functions and also held a private event in there private room and it's all been spot on.

Called the restaurant and arranged a family meal in the private room, confirmed it with Terry the events Manager, a few day later was told someone took another booking after ours and they were given the room, we had to re arrange an alternative date yet we had booked it before this other group. Just checked their fb page and this other group has now cancelled and the hotel is offering a football night, unreal and you would have thought they would have called and told us and asked if we would like our original date. And don't get me started about the meal that you have got to pre order before you arrive, ffs it's a party of 11 adults and two kids. Honestly, and they couldn't even communicate with each other because we were given two different menus to choose from, hastagconfused.com. Stay clear of it the bar and restaurant are all in one room it's a riot

Just here for the first time since the oxgang has had its refurbishment. I had the slow cooked beef and my hubbie had the spaghetti with prawns. Both were delicious. I would recommend this restaurant. We then had 2 lovely desserts.

Took my mother here for a birthday lunch. The renovation work done on this place has made such a difference. The bar kitchen restaurant has a modern feel and is bright, spacious and clean.

Having usually stayed at the Macdonald Inchyra when in town for work, I found the refurbished Oxgang so much more characterful, comfortable and pleasant. The service was attentive and faultless and the food just amazing. Will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The Oxgang has been re-invented, as you arrive you can see the outside has been upgraded and this improvement continues throughout the restaurant which has been fully refurbished. The service was a bit patchy, it took a long time for the starters to arrive and...

Firstly, they have transformed the place to an exceptional level and the waitress and food were ten times what we expected. The presentation on the plates suggests that the chef has come from further afield. Long may it continue. We will back soon.

Visited on a Sunday evening with three colleagues, it was quite busy but that did not affect the service. The food was outstanding too, the steak pie was crammed full of very tender beef. Can’t wait to go back

First time having a meal at The Oxgang since the refurbishment. Excellent food - the sea bass was wonderful, friendly and courteous staff and great service. Will definitely be back.

1st time staying here since the whole place had been refurbished and rooms redone and it was great!! had booked then cancelled due to plans changing then they changed again so one quick call and it was all sorted. room was lovely and clean, bathroom...

We had tried to get a table here the past few Sundays but it has been fully booked we did manage to get a table yesterday and it really was worth the wait. First impressions were great the decor is very modern and a huge...

There is much hype in the town about this restaurant reopening. The decor and ambience is first class that really was the highlight.

When we arrived we noticed straight a way it was very noisy and busy both with people eating or jet in for a drink. We went to the bar to order a drink while we waited on our table. We were shown to one if the booths as you come in the door and because the ceiling is lower there the noise didn't seem quite as loud. The meal arrived and our starters were very tasty and a good size portion. Our main courses came and were again tasty and good portion size. They were very attentive for drinks and made us feel looked after. Only one of us managed a sweet and when it came you would have thought it was for the four of us instead of one all in all when the bill came it was quite reasonable as we did have a few round of drinks on it but it was a bit noisy.

Big hopes let down. Mac n cheese lack of flavour, steak pie also no flavour the smell when walked into the bar was the same as when you walk into an 100year old boozer stinking the smell was only at the entrance. Place looked nice and fresh let down by the food standards though. First try and won't be rushing back

This place has new owners who have invested heavily in a complete rip-out and redesign (internal and external) of The Oxgang. Every inch has been considered and revamped to the highest modern spec.Oxgang has been open for one week and we have already been twice for family dinner. The menu caters for all needs and dishes are cooked to measure with evidently fresh ingredients, vegetables and impressive presentation. Kids menu also available.Add to this an extensive range of drinks in every line including cocktail menu and fine malts served by an extremely hard working team who are very engaging, helpful and charming.This really feels like high-end city dining at affordable local prices.Booking early is recommended because customers are already travelling from out of town to eat there - not because it's new but because it's outstanding.Separately a residents bar with outside beer garden has been designed to the same high calibre and consists of booths and multiple large curved screens for sports fans.The Oxgang also appears to offer a private function room (accommodates up to 120) with dedicated bar and staff service. Same is planned for a private dining room (still in construction) with isolated beer garden for guests. Very impressive.This is great news for Grangemouth and the Oxgang team can look forward to an exciting adventure ahead as it's reputation soars through word of mouth.

Was here last night for a wedding reception!! Had an amazing time and the staff were particularly good! Young guy on the bar (21) cant mind his name but he was brilliant had such a good way with everyone!! Buffet was good with rolls on sausage egg and bacon delicious!! Would defo recommend!!

This used to be a very good place to dine out in a few years ago always busy !!Now it is very tired grandure lacking in investment and staff training!!On entering the premises I thought I was going into a workman social club ,As I was being entertained by a friend to dinner I continued through a warren of dingy smelly corridors to the restaurant area-dark and dingy depressing ---if I had been on my own that's moment I would turned and left!!!But I continued the process going through the motions of having this appalling meal being served by over friendly staff who would benefited from having a good wash with soap and water and a comb pulled through their hair .With poorly regenerated bought in food covered in commercial gravy powder thick like wallpaper paste and tasting similar I felt very uncomfortable and embaraced for my friend whom had been recommend this place!!The bill came when we having sweet and had not been served coffee for nearly £50.00 at which I was very taken aback with their lack of ethiquite!!!!

Attended kids party here on sunday. Absolutly disgusting. The celilng in the function had a damp circle the other side off it had been plastered ,the dust from it was on the dance floor. The carpet was smelly and needing a good deep clean. It smelt damp. Ordered juice at the bar,the can rim was dirty. Can honestly say i am so dissapointed in this place. Heard the manager saying on the phone the function room was fully booked for the next few weeks. Hopefully its had "kim&agie " in before this happens.

Great steaks... great chips..... exvellent onion rings in a beer batter.... mushrooms yum.... peppercorn sauce beautiful... And the piece de resistance... the chilli jalapeno and garlic butter..... ouch!!!

A lovely celebrational steak dinner! Well cooked, and plate overstocked with many extra mouth watering ingredients including the biggest onion rings in the crispest and wonderfully mouth watering batter. Service was friendly, while remaining unobtrusive. Be warned... There's a LOT of food on your plate, so go with a hearty appetite!

Lunch on sunday after the football. Great menu with lots of choice. Prices reasonable and food delicious. Portion sizes were good. I had home made soup which was yummy and then the roast beef dinner. Grandson had chicken coujons and then the good old fashioned mince and tatties. All enjoyable. Service great and cost didnt break the bank. I'll be eating here again.

Love the food here. Never had a bad meal yet. Excellent value for money. Only downfall is I hate going into the restaurant through the bar especially when it's full of men it can be intimidating. Don't like taking the kids through it x

When we arrived got our drinks from the bar then got taken through to the restaurant 10 minutes later, ordered our starter and main meal. 5 minutes later the started arrived which was fine, after we finished that we got our main meals. When the main meals arrived we asked for more drinks which the waitress said she would get, so had our meals (I didn't eat mines as it was disgusting) after 25/30 minutes we had finished our meal and still hadn't got any drinks, then waited another 15 minutes still no drinks had arrived. By this point we were fed up of the slow service as everyone else around us was being served so decided to forget about desert and ask for the bill to which the waitress replied yeah sure, then also mentioned 'oh I forgot to bring you your drinks', unless you want slow service, disgusting food and the waitress forgetting about your drinks, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!! Won't be back!!

An unloved hotel, cold and run down, very slow service, waitress spilled the drinks not once or twice but three times!!!The food was poor, undercooked vegetables,burnt steak pie, bland haggis.In need of new management,new chef and new waiting staff.

Popped in on off xhance and enjoyed a three course meal and drinks for under £30. Mines was lovely and fresh and tasty, so was husbands but he ordered a chicken dish which turned out to be to spicy for him but i liked it. Good service and nice and clean surroundings.

This time I won the meal on 29th October draw, it was the Chicken Sante Fe, My husband paid for his as you only get one meal, we really enjoyed the meal which we got delivered, it was still very hot,Will be having this meal again, had my taste buds going,

I've visited the restaurant around 5-6 times on a friend's recommendation, with a mixture of friends and family, as well as my boyfriend. Everything I've ordered has been really tasty (I am still gutted they stopped doing my favourite starter - baked goats cheese on a giant crouton and black pudding with a fruity jus - it was one of the best things I've tasted, please bring it back!). Don't be put off by the dingy looking bar you walk through to get to the restaurant, everything has been perfect. I introduced my Dad to the restaurant on our last visit and we both ordered the millionaires shortbread / caramel shortcake for dessert, it was the best I have ever tasted. My Dad thought the same - he was gutted when they didn't have it on his next visit. Can't pick my favourite main meal, all have been fab.

My fiancée and I went here for dinner. When we arrived, I couldn't get into the dining area because there were stairs whichever way u went. And because I have a wheelchair this cause a big problem. I did ask when I phoned to book a table if it was wheelchair friendly and I was told yes it was, which it wasn't. We had to go into the hotel side because a wedding was on in the function suit. Had to get my fiancée to struggle with my chair up 3 or 4 steps. Staff didn't help at all. Infact when we arrived no one was about and my fiancée had to pop her head round the kitchen door to find a member of staff. The hotel and restaurant smelt of dampness and was very dated. This full building needs an upgrade. Food was better than abottsinch but not much . We won't be back again. Too much trouble trying to get in and the smell of damp made our stomachs turn. food was ok

Everything about this hotel reeks of lack of interest and investment with no reception, keys behind bar, dark corridors and not at all welcoming. The room was sad with the only plus being a very large flatscreen TV. There was no internet reception in the rooms only in the bar area. The toilet did not flush and you were required to lift the cistern lid (not very pleasant) in order to do so. The shower was miniscule and took a long time for hot water to come through. The bed was reasonably comfortable but spoilt by fibre pillows. I did have a very enjoyable meal of fajitas in the restaurant and am not blaming the staff as you cant make the proverbial silk purse.

Visited the oxgang last night for a meal and yet again left very full,happy and contented! My wife oder ed battered mushrooms which were very tasty and I ordered the lentil soup which was excellent and filling...and made with ham hock and not stock cubes!For our main my wife ordered Kingston chicken which she said was delicious and swears the oxgang is the best she's tasted anywhere! I went for a rump steak cheeseburger which was very filling and tasty. We were so full we didn't have any room for a desert....in total we had 2 courses each and ordered 2 pints and 2 Morgan and coke all for just under £30...Inn this day that's a great bargain! Keep up the good work guys and we will keep coming back!I even took 2 pictures of our main courses just to show how tasty they both looked!

We go to oxgang regular for lunch, we always book and have a large table the waitress lisa can't do enough for us very pleasant. Food homemade and great. Always enjoy. Great!

Been here many times for food and can't complain once. Food always tastes great, great service and value. Have been to party's in the hall too which have been great.

This place came recommended..but was disappointed . Food was def microwaved. Mains are ok, but desserts were disgusting... Half melted cheesecake, that looked like it had been microwave defrosted, as was fudge cake... As for coffee.... Instant.... Not impressed.

The ffods ok the service is poor we waited 30 mins for out order to be taken the waitress was not overly chatty in the sense that you had to ask what the specials are altogether a bad experience

The oxgang has slowly been going downhill for a while, twice we have been and twice we have waited 30mins for our order to be taken, the restraunt needs a serious make over and the staff are not very chatty or nice kids were doing cart wheels and running around nobody checked them the whole experience was dreadful

More downs than ups to be found. Start with the ups seen as there is very little. Food portions are large and good quality and the manageress Mel is top notch(if a little odd). That's basically were it ends though as the staff can be seen to be needing a good wash, with quite low hygiene levels. Takes 5 minutes to wash greasy hair or wipe food from your face which could be from eating from your plates for all you know. Hotel needs a refurb and roof was leaking very badly the last time I was in. 2 members of staff stood out and not for the correct reasons. Large blonde women looked like she had been dragged through a hedge before stepping into the restaurant. The workstation is right outside the restaurant and we were sitting just inside the door, it was so blatant hearing her talking about the night before and that she hadn't been home or changed which we found absolutely vulgar. The ginger girl spent an unnatural amount of time playing with her phone through the back bar both times myself and partner went to the toilet through the bar. Toilets.....if that's what you can call them anyway. Having a late night drink in the bar which I have done once was torturous trying to get a drink when there was 4 punters in and one member of staff no where to be seen, I spent a fair amount of time speaking to the thee punters who assured me this was normal. I heard the other punters shouting Lisa so can only guess that was her name as I left after one drink because no one should have to wait 15 minutes for a drink.

Every time we visit t the service and food is better than the last visit. We have NEVER had a bad meal here. The service is always second to none and the food well it's the best in the area.

Being local to the area, we rarely eat anywhere else when eating out. No point passing this fantastic place to go and eat anywhere else. The menu choice is fantastic and value for money is outstanding Two courses for £8.50 Three courses for £10. The plates are always covered with freshly cooked piping hot food.

Went here for a family meal/early dinner on a Sunday. Waiting staff good and very tasty food. A few minor problems: tables and decor dilapidated, very slippery floor (clean) in the gents. Definitely needs work done. Also did not enjoy having to walk through a crowd of smokers and a busy busy bar to get in with a baby / sit next to a table of smokers out after every course (honking).Right food and price, wrong setup/clientele.

The Oxgang House Hotel is the most well placed hotels in Grangemouth for which you can get their by using the public transport at a regular well spaced out time all day and every day the hotel itself serves the most wonderful food as well as drink the entertainment is OK as well.

Just been recently & food is really good, been many times before & never had a bad meal yet although could do with some heaters as it was freezing.....

Its not a large dining room but it is cosy. The girls all serve you with a smile. Food is lovely and tasty and there is a great choice of dishes. I love the mushrooms and the curry. They also do great private functions with buffet and disco - would recommend very much.

Does what it says on the tin. Small hotel that does food, allows families at certain times and has a great function hall. Nothing flash, nothing fancy. Just a decent bar, hotel and hall.

The Oxy as we call it is a pleasant and friendly bar and restaurant.Food is always of a high quality with special offers on several evenings.Good selection on the menu , both set and a la carte.Good value for money....love the blackpudding and goats cheese mmmm.They also do carry out breakfasts...hangover cure for a Sunday morning!Worth a wee visit.

Was rather surprised with the quality of food to be honest, They offer 3 course for £10 - cant complain, the food was cracking and really good portion sizes. Been back a few times and will be back again

If your looking for a great cooked meal at great prices this is worth a visit. Food was excellent as was the service. Friendliest staff I ever came across, nothing was a bother to them. My wee 3yr old grandson was treated like a lord and he loved all the attention. Well done girls, we will be back for another lovely meal of off your fantastic menu.

I've been down here a few times now. Its a favourite of mine and the hubby's. I've had my parents, pals and work colleagues down too and there hasn't been a complaint to far. Only thing I would mention is that your best to book, don't expect a rushed experience (well its all fresh) and if at lunchtime there is normally only one girl on. We normally pre-book for lunch time anyway though. The waitress is friendly and helpful. They allow me to slightly order my meal which is great too. Can't emphasise enough how much I love this place. Great food, Great price and not too shabby on the portions either.

Although small, this restaurant always serves good quality food, with great presentation and everything prepared fresh when you order it. They are now doing a fixed price menu with the option of 1, 2 or 3 courses but with no reduction in the quality of ingredients or size of portions, so a definite must if you have a bigger appetite or like value for money. Reason for only 4 stars today instead of 5....it was my first visit for a while but I went for my usual first choice, the lasagne. However today it was more sauce and cheese than meat or pasta, it felt mushy and insubstantial, and the accompanying fries were hard, over-cooked frozen chips rather than the hand cut superior quality chips usually served. Overall, although the meal still tasted nice it wasn't as good as the standard I've come to expect from The Auld Front Room restaurant. However it's still one of the better places to eat in this area, and I assume this visit was a mere hiccup - it won't stop me going back.

oh dear, where to begin. decided to try dinner here, have bn b4 for lunch n enjoyed. trying to get into the place was a hard task in itself. around 10 smokers in the porch area, 1 kindly flicked her ash at my feet wen i tried to get in. no one really moved or seemed bothered they were blockin the entrance. finally got in, pub busy but made way thru to restaurant. 1 couple there. have u booked the waitress asked, no we said. she went to check with kitchen as had a party of 12 comig in. no other tables seemed reserved altho i may b wrong. she came bk n sd i will b able to take ur order in 15 mins if u have a seat in the bar. the other rest is busy. we declined the thought of sittin in the bar with the blaring music just put me off. it wasnt due to lack of tables we were being asked to delay our meal as kitchen busy. felt we were unwanted! back out again via the smokers who again didnt move n the door actually hit 1 of them! im so glad i didnt take my child as we were stinkin of smoke passing thru! i wud try again as the food was great last time but only if i cud find another entrance!

The food was good but the service was so slow, they really have to invest in more staff, never waited so long for food, dont think we will be returning which is sad because main course was really good.

The food was good enough,not a lot of ambiance in the restaurant- the hotel is very tired and in need of some work. The entrances are off putting, either through the bar or through dark corridors!

THIS PLACE IS GREAT! Please read :)A few months ago, myself and my girlfriend visited the Oxgang for tea and we unfortunately did not have a great time. HOWEVER we were invited back and things were different :)The main issue was the length of time it took for meals to come - when we went back this was completely different and our food arrived very quickly :)The food is also very good quality and the staff are nice too; Melanie the manager in particular.My original review was wrong and I would definitely go back :)

The quality of the food and value for money was excellent. Based upon this alone , I would certainly return again soon.

I Would like to tell thank everyone at the Oxgang for an excellent birthday meal. My wife and I along with two of our friends recently visited the Oxgang for my 50th Birthday, and it was fantastic. We had been once previous and were extremely impressed that I decided to celebrate my birthday there. Everything from the service to the meal was first class, our waitress was friendly and very attentive. The manager Mel was great she made that extra special fuss of us as it was a special occasion an more importantly took the time to chat to us an made us feel right at home. The food was out of this world and I would recommend the black pudding and Kingston chicken to anyone. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for everyone to couples and families. Thanks again girls

Have just had a delicious 3 course meal at the Oxgang. The food was brilliant. Service was great. What else can I say but get down and try yourself. First time we have eaten there and will be back.

Lovely home cooked food, good choice, lovely friendly staff.

Visited this restaurant at the weekend, and although the food was of a good home cooked standard, there were so many other things to spoil the visit, which is a shame as they clearly have good cooksWhen we went in the place looked hectic (we had booked) and we were pointed, rather than shown to our table. A good few minutes passed before the kind people at the next table passed over some menus!! Not a great start ....On ordering, we waited approx 45-50 mins for our starters, which to us was very excessive. It was clear that they were serving many meals in the bar, plus had a function of some sorts on in the back, to be brutally honest they couldn't cope with what they had, certainly not enough staffAfter eating our starters, two other couples / families who had been waiting for a table, got seated, and had their starters very quickly. The final straw for us was when their Mains got served before we got ours. It appeared to us that there was a pecking order here, i got the impression locals and regulars were favoured, but that can only be my interpretation. The waitress gave a line about our meals being on their way, before we started moaning ... said as a joke no doubt, but very unprofessional given what had just went before, and to be honest the same person didn't really care when i mentioned the slowness and pecking order when paying the bill. Needless to say the tip was lost at that point, in fact i would have quite happily left after we got put to the back of the queue for the mains. Despite the food being of a good standard, i certainly won't be rushing back given the level of service

Lovely restaurant, helpful staff and fantastic food what more could you ask for. 3 course meal for two with 3 soft drinks only £23. All home cooked and large portions. Highly recommend you visit soon.

The Auld Front Room restaurant is well worth a visit. From its friendly staff to great food it ticks many boxes. The prices are very reasonable and there are special menu deals available during the week e.g. 2 courses for £6.95. We tried these thinking the portions would be smaller but they were far from skimpy.In my opinion this is the best of the restaurants in this area which will not disappoint.
