Waiting time too long between starter and main course

We ate at the carvery on Tuesday 20th May. Meat was fabulous although some of the veg was a bit dry due to the lights. Gravy fixed that. Donna our server was so pleasant and welcoming, she was very helpful and chatted easily to us. She couldn't have done more.

We wandered in to the Grassmere area after our audio tour of the castle and thought this pub checked the requisite character box. Few tables were available even for drinks but our timing was lucky. One of if not the oldest pub in Edinburgh so best to reserve ahead if you want to eat.

Full of students on drugs took ages to be served such a shame used to be a mix of people not been for a while. Very disappointed, if your not a student avoid!! Friday approx 8/9 pm 😠

Was staying in the area and was told of marvellous pub to try. The Lochy had a good choice of food and was very delicious. It was always busy so best to book.

We absolutely loved the Cairngorm Hotel! We chose to stay here on our first night in the Highlands for our honeymoon and so glad we did. It's incredibly close to the train station and local shops, but felt very quiet and peaceful in the room, with beautiful views of the mountains too. We loved the interiors, with a real classic, cosy feel and the room felt incredibly spacious. We had both dinner and breakfast in the hotel restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the Scottish selection of breakfast foods. The restaurant was full when we went down for dinner, but we got given a buzzer and waited in the bar, with a great pint of local beer. Then we were seated in no time! Well worth the wait

Ci siamo fermati a cena con la famiglia in questo pub. Ottima birra, piatti tipici di ottima qualità. Il pollo fritto con aglio era fantastico ma anche la classica pie! L’hamburger solamente onesto, invece. Prezzo nella media.

The atmosphere is beautiful. But the food is not good at all. The food is obsolete and old and has no single taste at all

After coming here regularly for over 20 years we’ve finally lost patience with this place! They couldnt care less about providing customers with decent service, decent food or prices that the Edinburgh elite won’t bulk at. The whole operation has become a shambolic mess…left ravenous on two occasions now due to inept menu management. If I could rate a zero I would. Give this place a wide berth….we certainly will be!
