Very busy Christmas night out took a while to get served good atmosphere drinks only

The menu gaslights you into thinking it must be all right at these prices. Unfortunately what you get is Wetherspoons food at Ivy prices.

My wife and I were in Glasgow yesterday for New Year's Eve, and we stopped into the Curlers Rest as it was close to our hotel. It is an excellent pub, with fantastic service and a great selection of beers. It even has Paulaner on tap. I hadn't had it on draft since we were in New York last summer!

Food very good mix up with ordering on the app but staff fixed it very helpful

All the food we had was very good. The fish finger sandwich was fresh and crispm the Nicolesom burger was very high in protein and very tasty. The beers ok tap were very good. To top it all of the service was fantastic. If you are in the area definitely check it out.

This is the 2nd year our family have visited on Boxing Day and is fast becoming our family tradition. The food, drink, ambience and staff was very good. My only criticism is the toilets while clean are a bit tired looking and could be doing with a makeover.

Staff service was great, would not eat here again.

Sadly very expensive for simple alcoholic drinks .West end greed.Only popped in too meet a friend quick drink then off too Govan for a few lagers at £3.40 a pint.All Byres road pubs are too expensive.Owner blames rates but town centre pubs with higher rates have cheaper beer.Its greed as Byres rd locals are daft enough too go there

The halloumi sandwich with fries was delicious!

Very good Glasgow Nicholson's pub a few yards from Hillhead subway station. Four cask beers on handpump when I visited including a stout. The pub, which was converted from two 18th century cottages, takes its name from a local curling pond. There is an upstairs bar with open fire.

Lovely space. Kid friendly which was amazing so we managed a much needed pint

I didn't have anything I went for the board game evening , the atmosphere was good, next time I go I will have the food it looked good.

My partner and I were trying out this place as we were looking for somewhere to book for a large family meal for a very special occasion. Really glad we went because I'd have died of embarrassment if I'd taken a party of twelve. Sat at table 4 (absolutely freezing, radiator turned off in December.) Staff were friendly though. We had 3 drinks in total. One small bottle of sparkling water (charged incorrectly at £4.70, and refunded the difference when challenged) A double gin and elderflower tonic and a medium Pepsi Max. We shared a first course of venison croquettes (3) for £9 I chose a sirloin steak rare and my partner had a burger. The quality of the steak was questionable because it was dry, tough and chewy. But the chef clearly doesn't understand the levels of cooking steaks because it was overcooked. Not a drop of blood/juice on the plate which is completely incorrect. The first course arrived promptly (freezer to fryer) but the main took far too long, even the waiter came to apologise without being asked. Overpriced at £80 for two covers and a couple of drinks. I'm very pleased that I went though. Even spending £80 is better than letting down my family party of twelve.

What you expect from a Nicholson’s pub - large, food orientated, selling big brand cask beers. The House Pale brewed in Cornwall was a delight to drink.

We only went in for pre dinner drinks,, service and staff were excellent,,but drinks a bit pricey,,food menu looked very good,,a possible eat for the future.

Booked upstairs, probably 100 people, upstairs bar was to be open, wasn't for hours. We were 4 or 5 deep at downstairs bar. 20 mins + for service

Nice pub was abs mobbed booked a table for dinner both had fish n chips was great nice and hot and very filling had a nice bottle of wine big Irish chap served u s he was very nice bit pricey for what we got but it is the west end would go back .

Chicken Balmoral nothing more than an overpriced snack not enough to feed a child - covered half the plate, and eat in just over 5 minutes. side arrived after i finished main course - took too long , but main was finished within 5 minutes Had my drink whipped off the table by your over keen glass collector - i wasnt finished it! Dont mind paying higher prices for goodfood,but this was measely portions of bland food, nd not cheap nor value ofr money. Within 3 hours of a main and a side i was eating takeaway food again as i left your place still hungry. I also nearly sliced my genitals off in your toliet as they became trapped between the bowl and your loosly fitted moveable toilet seat,almost slid of the toilet seat, and nearly circumcidedin the process.! get a someone with a wrench to secure the seat back on before someone else has an accident. Curlers used to be a great place to eat, but its poor now.

One of my favourite pubs in Glasgow right next to Hill head underground station on the Byers road in the west end.

Always busy. Beer well kept, decent food. Can be pricey.

We visited here on a recent trip to Scotland. We arrived as soon as they opened as we were in the area and searching for somewhere to eat. You find your own table here, and order from either a QR code on the table, or you can order at the bar. The food seemed to be quality, but was not as good as other offerings we had experienced elsewhere at smaller/less fancy restaurants. It seemed overpriced for what we received which may be a result of their location. If we are ever in the area again, we most likely won't make a return visit here.

Lovely pub really well laid out, had some great help form the barman on whiskey for her indoors, 🥃 🍺 very nice Cullen skink and haggis neeps & tatties all delicious 😋

Happen to stumble in on trivia night. Great food and wine selection. Service was good and friendly.

Nice pub, but menu clarity could be strongly improved - especially for veggie as it is very ambiguous which of the meals comes with a carb - (e.g. veggie pie apparently does not - despite costing £16). Strong complements to the staff -- they were great at sorting this all out - highly recommend! Just please sort out the very confusingly written menu, and state what is with each dish explicitly (can see at least one other review on a similar topic).

We love the decor and vibes in the pub. Staff were friendly. Food was tasty and filling, however the mash and veg on the side were barely warm.

A bit pricey but a very nice place still.

We were in a tiny booth near one of the front entrances which was uncomfortable. We were unable to adequately modify our online food order so had to order from the bar (which was fine but everything is geared towards online ordering - your app, the QR code). The food itself was dissatisfying - the meat pie pastry was too hard, the burgers were messy and not as tasty as advertised

No atmosphere at all. No music and so few people that it was like a ghost town.

Excellent in all respects - price, value, menu choices, staff, food & drink quality.

Stopped by Curlers Rest when going to see a concert. Everywhere else seemed abit pretentious, where this place seemed simpler pub grub. Abit expensive but the fish was amazing, soft and perfectly battered, chips perfect but cold mushy peas. The side of fries on the other hand were over cooked for the price. I could have done that at home without forking out a bunch. Anyway, would attend again! Cooked brilliantly.

Always a great spot. Excellent beers on tap, with Cameron and Luisa doing great draughts. Food is good. And do check out Ross Wilcock's open mic events for some of the best poetry and music in Glasgow. Super fun stuff. Still great!

Decepcionado con el Cullen Skink. La consistencia delgada, las astillas medias de pescado y la mayoría de estas astillas tenían la piel oscura en el dorso, así que parecía que el pescado no había sido fileteado correctamente. Un buen Skink debe ser cremoso y espeso con trozos de pescado de alta calidad, es decir, una comida en sí misma, pero tenía hambre después de esto y me despreciaba la vista de la piel oscura del pescado.

Ordered chips here twice both times, hard and horrible, £5 for chips like that isn't worth it

The pub is nice, the atmosphere is good, the quiz was fun. The only reason for the lower score is because the prices are ludicrously high for food and drink, seems they keep going up.

Very disappointed in my meal. Not only was my meal so late, my 4 friends had finished by the time I had mine(which I had to go to the bar to chase). I got the smallest amount of mash and 1 carrot, no other veg as I has seen in pictures and watery gravy. The pie was so over cooked I struggled to cut the pastry and had about 3 pieces of beef. I had been looking forward to this meal as I love a proper pie, was very disappointed and not worth the £17.50 paid!!!!

A good West End pick if you're looking for a spacious, warm, welcoming, but traditional style of pub. Good selection of beer. Staff are always of a friendly disposition.

Great place forgot how good it was it's been a while but me and my husband had a lovely chilled out drinks.

£17 for a fake meat burger?? No chips included, those are £5 extra for a sad little bowl. Drinks aren’t cheap either. Surprised the place is still going at this rate. Top bar closed even when it’s busy on both floors so you have to go downstairs to order, get back upstairs, and wait for one of the staff to come up the stairs just to bring you the food, or go get it yourself.

Absolutely appalling. I've been waiting over an hour for my food. Understaffed, rude, they have no idea what they're doing. Our party booking was made months ago, and most of the menu is unavailable. Never coming here again. Avoid avoid avoid.

Very pleasantly surprised by our meal. Going by the prices, we were expecting plain pub grub but our meal was very tasty and more in line with a highly rated restaurant. The quality of our food was great value and we would have no hesitation in going back. I had Balmoral chicken & hubby had fish & chips. Good sized portions, cooked to perfection.

I recently put on two events at Curlers and I had such an amazing experience. The team where always on hand to answer any silly questions I had. All of the team couldn’t have been more helpful and on both nights, went above and beyond to make sure our group were well looked after. Would highly recommend! Big thanks to everyone at Curlers, we will definitely be back!

Me and my husband (not white) were at the bar for ages. Waiting to be served. Our two white friends were with us. Made a lot of eye contact with the bar tender (tall woman) but that futile. Our friends stepped up (conventionally attractive couple) served almost straight away. You’d think in this day and age, muppets would matter. But no. Me and Kermie still suffer. Will not be coming back. Pic to follow.

Great place. Great food. The app makes it so easy

We did not like having to order and pay before receiving the food but it was far worse also asking if we wanted to tip!? After we have seen what the quantity of the food is like or if there was any service, there was non, would have been more appropriate for payment and possible tip. We too 3 steak pies with fries, they were all over cooked 1 was burnt and there was no meat in my pie. It was very disappointing to say the least!

Good pub Drop in before subway home

Great little traditional pub with a welcoming feel. A lovely wee fella called Luke served us on our visit here last week, was very attentive and knowledgable of the food and drink options they had to offer!

Had a few drinks here. The wine was lovely

£16.50 for 2 half pints of lager and 2 malt of the months. Bit of a rip off.

The food just wasn't very good and over priced. The pub is more expensive than many other bars, but not much better. In fact worse.

Amazing food!!! We all loved it. Perfect end to the trip.

Got chicken bites, chips and garlic bread. The garlic bread was REALLY soggy but the chicken was alright and chips seasoned well for a pub side As usual I have literally no idea about the drinks

Always considered this 5 stars but tonight the staff went out of their way to help me out and it’s solidified it for me

Party of 14 arrived on time, found own table eventually asked for name of party. Sat for 40 minutes no one came to table to ask about food order as this was why table was booked..we eventually downloaded app and ordered food this was when everything when from bad to worse..Put order through £145 , then app stated an item wasn’t available so changed item and app then took payment twice. Resulting in staff coming back and forward with food we had already had,at this point we still had no cutlery I had to go find it myself.some food brought to table then told the rest would need to wait as there was a 45 minutes delay. I will now have to spend my time trying to get this overpayment back from bank.incidentally the item that wasn’t available resulting in double payment did arrive. Did speak with manager who apologised , at that point however we didn’t know payment had been taken twice.we spent a total of £420 on drinks and food for this awful experience and that doesn’t included the £145 overpayment.

Had our baby shower here recently and they were very accommodating to our needs. The venue hire was free and we bought a buffet option to feed our guests.

Out out all day Saturday n went into the Curlers late on for a last wee beverage before heading home... Tennants.... Best pint of the day..

A lovely pub - bit pricey 2 pints and a rose came in at £20 other places nearby cheaper - nice staff - handy by the tube - Try Ginty McGintys as an alternative

One of the male staff members was exceptionally rude and lacked decorum in talking to customers. He literally misbehaved with us and was absolutely rude in the way he spoke to us for no apparent reason. We were waiting for the Uber to leave and he came told us that we want you guys to leave even though I told him we were waiting for the Uber which was few minutes away. Please note the bar was still full with people sitting and drinking yet he misbehaved with us and told us to wait outside. This pub requires staff members who are trained to behave properly with customers instead of acting brash. Extremely cheap behaviour.

Rosalind was brilliant. She made me and my friends feel so welcome. The best bar in Glasgow with the best staff.

First time in Curlers for 35 years, Definite change for the better, won't leave it as long the next time. Good atmosphere, good prices and staff.
