We had a lovely experience!! We got three burgers, a pint and three half pints, we tried our first whiskey here and the stuff was so nice and helpful in our choice. They had us whiff it and once we chose it they checked in with us on how we liked it. We also got a nachos platter and a typical dessert with a glass of Scottish wine. The pub itself is very awesome, it has fairy light strung throughout and the decor is unique!

I have never seen so many flies in one place. Makes you wonder how hygienic it is. Would recommend a deep clean, including in the glass bins (and keep a lid on them). Could hang fly papers up overnight. Using the aerosols not good for health

We stopped at this bar during our stay in Edinburgh. We had a local beer at the end of the afternoon which was delicious. The service and kindness of the waiters for two French people like us was great. So we came back to eat in the evening and tasted haggis for the first time 🤩🤩🤩 what can I say.... A marvel, I'm not sure I'll eat it again elsewhere because I'm afraid it won't happen to them the height. Hearty dish always full of smiles. It was great🥰🥰 The decor is really great, a real cabinet of curiosities is great.

What a wonderful find, this place gets very busy and would recommend booking if you want food,but we only called in for a drink, they have a good range of drinks and if you want a whiskey the bar staff are very knowledgeable about recommending one. A definite one to return to

Beautiful Scottish pub! Richly decorated environment with very courteous and fast staff. Excellent pies and haggis! We went on Sunday but Friday and Saturday evenings are packed. Highly recommended!

One of the best ads made in our lives! The atmosphere and decor are great. Wide choice of beer and whiskey. The food is very good. If you want to immerse yourself in Scottish culture this pub is for you! I recommend without hesitation.

Fantastic little place in the centre of Edinburgh. The food was great (I had the Haggis, Neeps and Tatties with a side of haggis Bon Bons and whisky sauce, my wife had the Ale pie and chips). The staff were really friendly and helpful. Superb selection of Single Malts (the 12 year old Kilchoman was a great recommendation). If you like Blues music, this is definitely the place for you - Muddy Waters, BB King, Robert Johnson etc - really added to the unique and quirky decor/atmosphere. Will definitely revisit.

A great place to spend an afternoon for a cosy drink. Could stay there for a week and I’m sure you wouldn’t get through all of the bric-a-brac on the walls and ceiling. Well worth a visit.

Super pub in the center. Pleasant environment, when we asked if they had free seating, we were answered with a smile: have a beer, and as soon as you see a seat, jump for it. So great response from the staff and we knew we wanted to spend the evening here. We will definitely be back. As a bonus, you can order very old whiskey here, which simply fits here and complements the whole atmosphere. And the whole pub smells of garlic bread, which directly invites you to order something to eat.

One of the pubs I liked the most in Edinburgh, beautiful decoration, good beer and we had a wonderful meal. The beer is a little expensive but the place is worth it.

Whilst we didn't try the food, but the smell of it was divine. We happened across this pub as a place to stop before dinner, and its charm can not be understated. With friendly staff at the bar who chatted with us, promptly served drinks and decor that will catch your eyes wherever you look its a pub to put on the list should you think of heading to rose street. Very well recommended by the green week&go guide. We drank a local beer and took advantage of the dishes to eat there. I highly recommend it for an instant Scottish immersion.

A nostro parere questo pub che si trova nella città nuova è molto più caratteristico di altri pub che si trovano nella città vecchia che chiaramente essendo in zona turistica hanno menù simili ed uguale per l’arredamento . Il locale qui è storico , si respira un’atmosfera unica , personale gentile, prima di sedersi ricordatevi che si ordina al banco e si paga subito , ( hanno il pos come tutti) poi vi sedete dove volete , buoni i piatti ; fish e chips ottimo , poche scelte ma ben selezionate ; le birre hanno la classica Guinness e altre marche . Nel dubbio noi ci siamo tornati due volte .

Unfortunately, DDs did not live up to hype. The atmosphere was nice enough - fairly standard and the background music was cool (assuming you are a blues fan). However, the food was mixed. My meal was good, but my wife's was not. She had the nachos and the serving was a bit stingy. Still an okay place to go, but I don't see it as sitting above the pack.

We had a change of plans on Saturday night as previous plans fell through so we popped in to Dirty Dicks! We have not been in a while and normally pop in during the day at the weekend and as always we were not disappointed. Dirty Dicks is a lovely quirky pub with candles on each table, like stepping back in time with memorabilia all over the place. It is a forgotten peace of Edinburgh along Rose Street, not pretentious but full of atmosphere. It was very busy but we did get a cozy table in the corner which was perfect for a date night. We ordered some nibbles and the portions were large as always which we shared. It was a lovely night and highly recommend this proper Edinburgh boozer! X

A great looking timeless place with heaps of character found by accident would highly recommend.

What a great spot for casual drinks or a bit of grub. It’s off the beaten track, but totally worth it. The food was epic and the drink selection was spot on! We were lucky to get a table as it was really busy when we arrived, but the people in the pub were also so friendly and we also offered for other customers to perch on the end of our table to save them going elsewhere! We met a couple who were on their travels from America (Fort Lauderdale) and they loved the place too! The decor is eclectic and really interesting to look at too.

Didn't eat here but was a cosy, busy pub on Rose Street for a drink. Lots to see within and the real candles were a nice change from the fake flame ones. Our daughter introduced us to this pub 2 years ago. Only had the one this time but we've been before and likely to be back!

Una taberna muy original, muy buen ambiente, la decoración es genial y los camareros muy amables y pendientes de todo. Era día 2 y no tenían muchas cosas donde elegir aún así se esmeraron en atendernos. Comimos hamburguesas con haggis.Lo recomiendo para pasar un buen rato.

Como turista mexicano, la experiencia del pub es magnífica, el ambiente es agradable, muy limpio, de un precio accesible y sí tiene un ambiente total y absolutamente escocés. Los diferentes whiskys son deliciosos, la cerveza hay ligera y fuerte y también está muy rica. No probé comida por lo que no podría dar un opinión sobre ellos pero se lleva 5 estrellas este pub. Recomiendo ampliamente probar unos tragos en el lugar de noche ya que se pasa muy agradable la velada y como dato final, cierra a las 12 am.

Awesome place for a pint and pubgrub. A true authentic pub with its own pirate style, which attracts people from all walks of life.

In a world of ‘themed’ pubs, it’s nice to return to one that revels in being old fashioned. Just remember to ask for the whisky list; there’s more than meets the eye.

Really nice pub! You’ll find a nice and warm atmosphere surrounded by good beer and nice food. The whiskey’s collection may require a long stay to explore!

The best bar for golf lovers. Want to find out why? Then you have to visit this place by yourself. The beer selection is amazing and the atmosphere is one of the best and cozyest in Edinburgh. Besides the many pub crawl options along the rose street, this is the perfect place to start a night out.

You cannot visit Edinburgh and not visit Dirty Dicks. The pub is great, food is really good and fresh and is good value for money. The staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is great and very welcoming for families .Would highly recommend and will be returning when we next visit Edinburgh.

We went here, because we thought we'd belong here regarding the name of it. We really enjoyed this pub.

Came here for a quick lunch and to try the fried mars bars as we heard they're amazing :) Ordered some nachos and the Mars bar. The wait for a table was very long since but it's not a surprise considering it was a cold Saturday afternoon. Whe sat outside after a space freed up and the wait for our food wasn't long at all. The food was tasty and the mars bar was so so good, highly recommend. We loved the nice touch of the mars bar placement, definitely made us chuckle. Overall a nice experience.

Every time we come to Edinburgh we visit here, it has a really small food menu, but what they do serve is absolutely gorgeous. The pie and chips with the gravy was absolutely delicious and the haggis, tatie and neeps is a must for my mum! Brilliant atmosphere and excellent staff! Always worth a visit!!!

We've had some incredible pub and restaurant experiences in Edinburgh thusfar but @dirtydicksedinburgh has been our favourite by far. Kind staff and patrons, located on Rose Street, dog-friendly, and incredible food. The poshfish and chips were exquisite, haddock, sides of pickled onions and peas, brown sauce for chips. Rose had a Beef Pie with mashed potatoes and beef gravy and kale and roasted parnips and carrots. We had a sticky toffee pudding as dessert. Absolutely stunning tip-to-tail.
