Good and plentiful breakfast at an excellent price/quality ratio. The place is very nice, almost luxurious. 4 stars because since I've been going there they never clean the tables between one customer and another.

Didn't try the food. Only x2 servers behind the bar of a really busy pub (as usual for Wetherspoons on a Friday). Tables too close together and service slow.

Food was mediocre at best. The food wasn’t really hot and half the menu had been removed because of some sort of “tech issue”. Drinks were ok and food came out very quickly but not sure I would recommend this for anything other than a drink. But it was nice and warm!

Regular place to go for breakfast but to many uncooked eggs, returned breakfast only to get the same one back recooked and looking disgusting, left it on the table and walked out, worst witherspoon's I have been in.

Whenever I'm in Edinburgh, The Alexander Graham Bell becomes the landing station. I will usually visit at least once per day for either a meal or some drinks. It is close to most of the hotels in the area, and large enough to accompany groups of any size. The food and drinks are reasonably priced. The atmosphere is a great mix of local flavor and visitors from elsewhere.

Unfortunately, my experience at The Alexander Graham Bell wasn’t the best. In fact, I’d say it’s been one of the weakest Wetherspoon locations I’ve visited so far. I chose this pub because I’m already familiar with the quality of other Wetherspoon locations in Wales and London, and it was also recommended by the chain’s own app as the closest to where I was. However, it turned out to be a disappointment. Perhaps it was due to the time I arrived (around 2 pm), but the place was packed, making it hard to find a table. I ordered The Big Smoke Burger (which, ironically, was only "big" in name). The burger was overcooked, the pulled pork was cold, and the cheese wasn’t even melted. The onion rings were overly greasy. It was a struggle to finish the burger, and I only did so because it cost £13.49. This was one of the rare times I found a fast food burger to be a better option than what I got at Wetherspoon. But, as I mentioned, it could have just been bad luck due to the restaurant being so busy. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this one.

Food is absolutely awful. Disgusting. And foul.. Cold no taste just thrown on the plates from across the room.. Go for a drink yes. But do not eat here...

A great place for a few drinks with friends. It's usually busy and a bit loud but always decent at most things. A good Weatherspoons.

Hygiene and food is horrendous should be looked into Immediately will be taking this further

Bit rough around the edge but ok

No table service, no welcome from the servers. Everything is to be done by the customer. Take the order and go make your chocolate in a machine, not even homemade and warm chocolate. A dessert: industrial and disgusting plate. Poor restoration...

I have been to all the other Wetherspoons in Edinburgh and this was my first visit to this one. A great place with a nice buzz to it.

It’s like every other Wetherspoon, but the ambience here is slightly nicer, the staff are friendlier, and the service is a bit faster than at most other locations. The food and drinks were good. I suspect the curries are pre-packaged and reheated rather than freshly made, but they were still enjoyable. Overall, it’s a nice place with a good ambience.

I really like this place, especially when it's quiet. Lovely ambience. However, one thing that really annoys me is that they are often sold out of their prize meals. Last summer I went in numerous times for their fish 'n' chips only to be told that they were sold out. Yesterday I went in and ordered the Christmas dinner but was told they'd sold out of turkey. Really disappointing because I was only in Edinburgh for one night and walked a long way especially for the festive meal.

Ok pub. Can't believe how busy this pub is. Need to be putting at least another 3 staff behind bar. I'm sure they're taking enough money with the price of the drinks

A comfortable and quiet place to spend time with family or friends

I wish I'd discovered this place much sooner.....I would have saved a fortune. I had a very enjoyable large Scottish breakfast for £7.43. It was way better than the equivalent I had elsewhere that cost £22!!! Hot drinks only £1.56 but also offer free refills. So all in all it was fantastic value for money and decent quality products. The drinks menu also caught my attention......very cheap compared to most other places with pints of beer as cheap as £1.99 and most others being less than £5. Bottles of wine about £10 cheaper than most other places at under £15 and cocktails also offering great value. I will return here on my next visit to sample more food and drinks.

Too busy and too noisy. WiFi didn't work so unable to use app to order anything.

My friend was kicked out of here by a bouncer when he was completely sober. He had a couple sips of his drink, he went outside for signal and they wouldn’t let him back in because he “had enough alcohol” need to rethink your bouncers and who you hire. Because it was completely unfair. As we were leaving the same bouncer was going around telling people to leave. Clearly some sort of hobby for him. Food was alright

For a pub on a Saturday in Central Edinburgh we were pleasantly surprised to find it a nice busy. We easily found a table and app ordered drinks and food arrived quickly. The staff were friendly and the place had a nice relaxed vibe. Would definitely head here over other JF's in Central Edinburgh.

Popped in for a quick pint, the first pint out of a new barrel was cloudy. Very kindly, Jack replaced it and Kasia was very understanding about it. Good folk!

It's a spoons... what can I say. Food is pub grub and value for money. Location is posh.

Enjoyed a few drinks before meeting friends for lunch. Then we all came back after we had our lunch. We were able to talk and enjoy our time.

Had a brilliant breakfast here, cooked to perfection, served at the right time and at the right temperature. We sat in the window watching the rain come down and the world go by. Great pub. An ode to a great inventor and a great man.

Good place to go for coffee and catch up. Not had food here for ages. When we went in, three tables still has dirty plates, still there 30 mins later...and that was in front window too.

I actually thought it was different. You go to the counter and order what you choose. The portions already come on the plate. The same thing with drinks. They are not friendly.

While in Glasgow, Scotland from Orlando, Florida We had lunch at this Scottish Pub. You have to order food using their app which worked very well and it was easy to use. The service, food, and drink were very good. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Popped in on my own on a Friday evening about 7.00pm to wait for some friends to arrive (still haven’t got any). It was really busy and had a good mix of people in. Ordered a pint of Paolozzi from the bar and managed to find a vacant table to waste away a half hour people watching. I can’t say anything bad about the AGB as it is what it says, a Wetherspoons! We all know what to expect and that it will have a decent selection of very reasonably priced drinks and food. The table of hen party girls sitting behind me certainly seemed ecstatic when one of their number came back with 3 bottles of Prosecco for under £45. The party was about to start!!

It was a nice pub. Decent food, really enjoyed the chicken tikka with naan--generous serving. Katsu curry wasn't bad either. Good ambience too.

Standard Wetherspoons, reasonably quiet for a Friday night.

A Wheterspoon of the finer kind. Very clean, food and drinks excellent as always. If you go later, it will be quieter and you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Ground floor. Can be visited without any problems by people with disabilities.

We loved this pub! It was much quieter than the other whetherspoon. All the food came out really quick and was delicious. We even stayed for a pud!

We ate here after reading about it in a city guide (Marco Polo). We had a great time: easy to order with a menu downloaded with QR code, fast and friendly service, good value for money. Advised!

I loved the Alexander Graham Bell story. Where woukd we be without him now? An absolute hero. However the place seems not more than a pub.

Ordered the burgers, which were disgusting. Chips looked and tasted like they had been sitting for hours on a hot plate. We won't be hurrying back anytime soon.

This was a superb pub for drinking, adorned by pretty lights and stylish walls! The latter includes a blue patterned wall and frames of Edinburgh's history like ships, counter is well presented too. I had a refreshing cocktail coming at solid prices for up in Edinburgh, sitting comfortably at a rounded clean table too!

What can I say. It’s a Wetherspoons. One thing to note here however, are the toilets that are no further away than any other normal pub 😆 Actually, I’ve noted most Scottish ‘Spoons share this trait unlike the English ‘Spoons where you have to walk 500 miles and then 500 more to access the toilets! 😂👌🏻 Overall, a pleasant place where you know the standard before you enter. Good ole ‘Spoons!

Bright and airy without too far to go to the toilet. Usually a local crowd but popular with out of towners as it has a fruit machine.

Typical traditional breakfast eaten here several times and was always good. Pleasant atmosphere, prices relatively good. In all respects it performs significantly better than other breakfast places in Edinburgh, even if, for whatever reason, they are better rated.

Two female bar staff members provided exceptionally poor service and customer care. One staff member was an older woman with glasses and black hair, while the other was a younger woman with orange hair. My partner and I visited the bar for drinks and stood waiting for over 10 minutes without being acknowledged. The staff were inattentive, serving customers who spoke up first rather than those who had been waiting longer. When I finally intervened and informed the younger woman that we had been waiting longer than others she had served, she conferred with the older woman, who then informed us that we would not be served. This experience was shockingly unprofessional and disappointing. 01/08/24

Decent spoons, less busy than the nearby standing order, fewer real ales to choose from. Food service seems very fast

Usually have a burger,chicken or fish but plumped for the Pasta Alfredo.It was absolutely delicious and will definitely have it again.

One of the better weatherspoons in the area, was a lovely day and sat outside. Was bot too busy inside but outside was full. Chips ok, and the normal drinks you would expect at weatherspoons Both had a pitch of cocktails and both fairly good,just.over £8 each.

Great food but total lack of Internet to use app effectively is a big negative, we tried their local WiFi and still extremely slow and unable to process payment unless you go outside.

As Wetherspoon afficiandos we were very disappointed with the Ramen Bowl. It was bland. We could not find the oldie goodies on the menu. (Like lemon & herb chicken)

The selection of beers was poor, too many were off! Other Wetherspoons in Edinburgh have a superior beer selection.

Hello from America! Great food and beer. While visiting from the US we went to Edinburgh Castle and stopped here for lunch. Very good and fresh fish and chips. Thanks to the staff for taking it easy on me!

Nice Whetherspoon pub in the center of Edinburgh. Would definitely go there again.
