Still waiting on manager getting back to me about awful Christmas dinner - waiting an over an hour for starters a further hour for our mains and a further hour and a half for our desserts, couldn’t get to the bar for a drink there was that many people round it complaing, food was awful gravy like water and the whole experience ruined mine, my friends & the kids Christmas Day

Ideal place for Edinburgh on bus route outside hotel every five mins and same to come back to hotel

A group of seven friends celebrating on Boxing Day all thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the Lady Nairne Beefeater. The food and service were excellent although maybe the dining room could have looked a bit more Christmassy. Our thanks and appreciation to the Chef, Manager Ian, and Tanya who looked after us so well.

I was staying at the premier inn and went down for breakfast. Unfortunately I met a hostess called ‘Donna’ I can honestly say the way she spoke to me was disgraceful as in how dare I turn up for breakfast when I hadn’t booked. I would add there were multiple empty tables. An older woman who worked there was much nicer and asked if I wanted breakfast I obviously then declined. I will be making a complaint to beefeater as no one should be spoken to that away let alone a customer.

This is the second time that we get shown away from the restaurant because of their ‘hours’. The second time we still had 20 minutes for breakfast and the lady basically showed us to the door. It is a very big restaurant but barely any people, I won’t recommend this restaurant to tourists as clearly they have a problem here with them. Horrible treatment especially around Christmas time. If you decide to go please make sure you go 3 hours before they close any type of menu.

Diabolical Order two fillets got one and a sirloin, when asked the lady she told me they are both fillets, called me stupid and sent the manager over who apologised that they made a mistake. I had to wait 30mins for a replacement after my partner had already ate. Very bad vibe. Then I received my “grilled” sprouts at the end of my meal which was microwaved in a bowl of grated cheese which was hardly melted when I asked the manager again “what is this?” He apologised and stated he had 2 chefs walk out on him tonight! And multiple complaints, I asked given the state of this “why did you bring this to me!” He add he was sorry he knows he did wrong. There was only 3 tables in the pub eating food, so not busy at all. I would never return and p.s the waitress with a forging accent was extremely rude and rolling her eyes

Severely understaffed and uncoordinated, food had to be sent back several times. even though not many guests were there, the food took over 45 minutes to come out. the staff was friendly and considerate though.

We were there for a Christmas party the service was great despite shortage of staff. Tanya who served us was very pleasant and very efficient. She was very attentive to our requests. Well done Tanya and all staff involved.

Great staff Jamie the team leader was great as she worked at criaghouse before moving here and meicheal the cheff is great got our food great serve worked at craighouse too the pair off then are great staff

We had a lovely meal after a long journey up from Wales. Tania was great and made recommendations which made our meal perfect. We couldn’t fault the food and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Highly recommended!

I ended up waiting for over 15 mins to be seated, in a half filled at most restaurant; I was the only person queuing. Three different staff members politely told me they would be with me soon, including the bar man who was making drinks orders for tables just behind me. Ended up walking out as they clearly didn't want to serve me. A lady at the bar told me it was disgusting and suggested I should right this review.

We initially had a delay in taking due to a lack of staffing but the staff on duty were extremely apologetic. The food provided was great and the pricing adequate.

Went for dinner with my family, food was amazing, steaks very well cooked kids meals also amazing. Our server tania was amazing interacted very well with us all especially my two girls could not ask for better service. Would highly recommend will definitely be back next time we’re in Edinburgh.

Compliments to the chef!!! I haven't eaten in here for a while, so I popped in tonight with a friend for dinner and a drink. We received a warm welcome, the atmosphere was cosy and the food was excellent. I had the Halloumi Fries, Smothered Chicken Melt, Onion Rings, and Apple Pie & Custard. My friend had a steak. Each dish was delicious and cooked, served, and presented to perfection... Thank you!

Fantastic service from the lovely waitress Tania , always smiling very polite and very professional nothing was too much trouble..looked after me very well.. and also the very young lady who took me to my table was also very good

Cada comida era brillante, caliente, sabrosa y salió tan rápido. El personal era encantador y acogedor. ¡Tengo que dar un saludo especial a Tania que fue increíble! Went for Sunday lunch. Staff really pleasant, restaurant & loos clean, & food was fine. My gammon was quite thick & could maybe have been cooked a little more, although tasty. Quite empty for a Sunday so not a lot of an atmosphere going, pleasant for a quiet cooked lunch.

The food was awful and not very good. I waited 13 minutes to be seen to I only got a matter of 2-3 minutes to read menu did not feel welcome at all they are very under staffed a chef came out to take me to my table. I would advise not eating here. Eggs not cooked. Bacon was part uncooked. Beans tasted like just out the tin. Tomato was lightly warm. Staff not friendly in morning. Evening staff are friendly but rushed and under staffed.

Ive been coming to this establishment for many years. However we came for my mums 50th on friday with a larger party, we were served by an absolutely amazing lady called tania, the service was exceptional. Her hospitality is second to non we returned a few days later with a smaller party and received the exact same service. Absolute credit to the lady nairn. But mostly tania x

Great service and hospitality from Tania this was our second visit for a Sunday roast over the past three weeks.

The service by ladies was quick and friendly. She took the order and came back with food in no time.

Was served by Tania today and she was excellent, very attentive and polite. We will definitely be back again as food was tasty and very reasonably priced

Vi boede på nærliggende hotel og spiste frokost på Beefeater Lady Nairne. Venlig betjening, hurtig servering og god mad. Lokalet er ikke det mest spændende og nogle borde vipper, hvilket de burde få ordnet, da det var et irritationsmoment.

Good spot for a nice bit of grub, clean and tidy and a super friendly & helpful manager called Tania, who was well organised and very much on the ball 😀

Food ok, couple of things we wanted ran out. Portion for the price is a tad less than it should be. Would go again though. Clean enough. Staff lovely.

Breakfast. Plenty of staff and short wait for food. Lots of drinks and food - continental and cooked. Unfortunately no gluten free toast or cereal available. Long wait to be seated, had to go find a staff member in the restaurant. Great breakfast nonetheless.

A warm welcome . Very clean restaurant. They were only doing breakfast when we pop in . My gluten-free breakfast was freshly cooked for me. Lots of choice for my other guests in party. No rushing us out of restaurant.

Loss of stars due to inadequate choice of meats at the Carvery. No Beef, no Lamb at 8 p.m in the evening. Sorry folks. That's unacceptable for travelling families looking forward to advertised meals. I've used Beefeaters' many times over the years too. Not at all happy that you just said "sorry for running out of food but do come & visit again soon." Hello! No compensation offer in mind given we spent £100 +/- there? I saw 'other comments' where respondents mentioned vouchers being utilised. Please Beefeater. Have a rethink on your PR responses in future. Thanks in anticipation. Mr A.

In for the hot breakfast, service with a smile, very short wait for the food, atmosphere relaxed, bacon kind of hard, black pudding too much oil for me, scrambled eggs excellent, all the rest very good. Would recommend due mostly to the staff.

Had breakfast here while staying at the attached premier inn and my experience was amazing. We were very stressed out as we were here visiting a family member in hospital and the staff were so wonderful, went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after while we waited to check in next door and the breakfasts we had were lovely. Donna and Irene are a credit to the place!

Met friends for a drink on Tuesday. The barmaid didn’t know how to change the barrel when the Guinness went off. Tried to charge £12.80 for a whisky until someone else at the bar asked if that was for the bottle. The barmaid was throwing the empty bottles into the bin from a distance and the noise did not add to the ambience. The toilets were a disgrace and no disabled toilet. Not to be recommended

girl bye i got the ricotta lasagne and trust me, it was good. but the fact the waiter charged us for an extra lasagne that we didnt order??? ok.. and then the fact my relative kept asking for a water and guess what we didnt get. a water. the first time we went, which was 4 days ago it was great, no extra charges and stuff. but i mean honestly… just cause tourists come doesn’t mean you over charge them.

They did over cook my travel mates steak a little but we went on Father's Day. They were busy. Everything else superior. Especially our server Michael. He made it a dinner and a show. He also got everything right in our order. So pleased with him in general. Great attitude.

My service here was superb! This was my first time staying at this premier Inn while I was up here in Edinburgh on business. I was served by Tania who was excellent from the moment she showed me to my table. Food was excellent, a lot better than some other premier inns I have stayed in. What made the meal was the excellent service and that's the reason I'm leaving this review.

From the moment Tania welcomed us into the restaurant, her service was outstanding! Nothing was too much bother (we asked for sides as starters and that wasn't a problem). The food was excellent: my husband's steak was perfectly cooked and I had the lasagne which was delicious and came with a substantial salad and garlic flatbread. Hubby's meal came with chips, peas, onion rings and tomato. Everything was piping hot. The ambience was nice and relaxed too. We will.definitely be back! Thanks especially to Tania who was so friendly x

Came for breakfast, all freshly cooked, fresh produce. Continental was so fresh and lovely and to top it off service was impeccable. Poached eggs were top notch

We had a fabulous experience here tonight thanks to Colin being so kind, welcoming and helpful. Amazing customer service, great communication and attitude.

We stayed for a dancing competition weekend. Tania was working in the bar/restaurant and made our party feel very welcome, her service was fantastic.

The Beef and Ale Pie was amazing! Service was efficient and extremely pleasant! Highly recommend!

We had their 3 starter options, Nachos, Halloumi cheese and potatoes with bacon. We also had the chocolate brownie and sticky toffee as a dessert. The food was great, we enjoyed the Nachos and Halloumi cheese the most. The dessert was absolutely amazing! I had to stop my GF from eating my part of the dessert, it was delicious! The service was also really good and the staff were friendly. I will definitely recommend people to have food here! You cannot go wrong with this great restaurant!

Tanya was so busy serving everyone at the bar and in the restaurant but did a fantastic job. So friendly and took a genuine interest in us. Food was really tasty - surf and turf was great succulent sirloin steak cooked perfectly. The ribs were fab too. We'd definitely return.

The staff were exceptionally rude and acted as if they beer entitled, particularly the lady serving food, ZERO customer service, made you feel you should be grateful to be allowed to have breakfast you were paying for. 😳 I didn’t book for breakfast and when I came in I was told I should have, how do we know how many chefs to have in? The lady said, she told me I’m luck to be being served it, just unbelievable 🤷‍♂️ The Guinness was the worst pint I’ve EVER had, it was warm, the bar maid suggested they put ice in it in Spain, beggars belief, the Tennents lager was no better. Do yourself a favour DONT GO 🤔

Tanya our server was really good and lovely when gave us tips on where to go when we visit Portugal. 🇵🇹 The food was delicious and served within a good timeframe. This is a great restaurant and as with most establishments has had problems with lack of staff. This has never stopped them being courteous and friendly to us . I highly recommend and the mixed grill is amazing we keep thinking we will have a pudding but never have enough room.

Ate here for our evening meal as we didn't fancy any of the eateries on portobello seafront and as we are staying in the hotel. Very nice hot food served by a friendly Portuguese lady. We will eat here again during our stay

Six of us attempted to have dinner here as part of a Meal Deal with the adjacent Premier Inn. We were there celebrating a granddaughter’s birthday. We were booked for 6.30pm, arrived on time, and our drinks were served promptly by a nice female waitress who then disappeared. After a while, we had to hail someone else - a young male waiter - to take our food order. We then waited…. and waited…. and waited. The restaurant was almost empty and the staff all seemed to have gone into hiding. But when our male waiter did appear we chased him but he just said our food was on the way and vanished again. At 8.00pm (one and a half hours after arriving) I went in search of a manager. It turned out he was the man jovially serving drinks behind the bar. He came over, said there had been a communication problem between a new staff member and the kitchen, (so he must have already known there was an ongoing problem but hadn’t gripped it), took our order again, processed it personally and by 8.30pm (two hours after we had arrived) the last of us had been fed after it came all came in dribs and drabs. The manager professed his apologies and said there would be no charge for any extras (we were on a pre-paid Meal Deal with Premier Inn so had actually paid for it mostly already). But the situation had by then gone well beyond mitigation. We had our breakfast there next morning with our Meal Deal and it was a different place - friendly and well-run. But don’t even think about going there for dinner based on our experience.

This place is lovely, such a warm welcoming place. It's a bit dated, needs a bit of a do-up, but the staff (that were there) are wonderful. It seemed like the manager, who introduced himself as ian (I assume it was the manager, because there was nobody else there!) was on his own, he was taking orders, serving AND pulling pints. But that didn't stop him from being cheery and welcoming and making everyone feel at home. The food was hot, out at a decent time (not too much of a wait!), and looked good. But you can't really ruin a steak and chips, can you? More staff and a splash of new paint wouldn't go amiss though.

Had a lovely meal with my wife. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted with a friendly welcome by Ian who promptly showed us to our table, handed us the menus and took our drinks order. Our drinks arrived swiftly and Ian took our order as soon as were were ready. The starters arrived promptly and were very nice. Our main courses arrived soon after our starter plates were cleared. Our steak dish and chicken dish were both delicious, the presentation was really nice and both meals were hot. Ian came back shortly after we'd started our meals and asked if everything was to our satisfaction. We were offered desserts but didn't have room after our starters and main courses. We both had a great evening and would like to give a special mention to Ian who could not do enough to ensure we had a pleasant experience. We will definitely be back.

Lovely accommodating staff will go every time I visit my daughter. Not ridiculous prices for Edinburgh either.

Having stayed & eaten here before, I thought I knew what I would be getting; but I was in for a lovely surprise. The customer service was excellent- Shannon & Tanya looked after me for the 2 evenings I stayed here, and they were brilliant. Attentive but not intrusive. I had the 8oz sirloin cooked medium rare both evenings, because it was an excellent piece of meat and cooked perfectly on my first evening - and again on the second. It was as if I was eating in a completely different restaurant than when I was last here; the service and my food could have easily been in a 5 star hotel. I can’t wait to return!

This place is fairly local to us so we are regulars .It is easy to book on line and would recommend as have seen folks turned away when the restaurant is busy as serves premier inn as well .we had a decent two course midweek menu for &17 Both burger and curry very nice .Tanya took very good care of us so no complaints .A good place for a midweek bite.

I had lunch with my family yesterday and had a great time. The food was lovely and the staff was great. My nephew received a veg lasagna instead of meat lasagna but this was rectified very quickly and he said it was delicious. Would definitely go again.

We were sat by a boarded up smashed window, the table was dirty and scratched and the chairs were stained. The two women serving were rude and unfriendly. There was no fruit juice at breakfast or glasses and no plates for toast. It was my birthday but this really put the dampeners on it. I was told I would get a full refund but here we are a fortnight later and they still have my cash.

Food as you would expect at a Beefeater. As staying at the Premier Inn asked about the meal deal, and the waitress said she didn't know what I was talking about. The service from this waitress was poor and everything felt like too much trouble for her. It made us feel awkward. Shame as food was ok, but she made us feel we would rather have been somewhere else!

Popped in for a quick drink or 2 on Tuesday night. All fine until I noticed 2 of the staff members getting a bit miffed. Heard one of them have a go at the bar person, a blond girl, and the one having a go was really aggressive and seemed narked at the blond for some reason. Called her lazy and incompetent. Was not a nice scene and felt sorry for the bar person as she was pretty friendly but obviously upset about the things did to her. Not a good experience. Wish it taken the bar persons name but I finished my drink and left. The server (Tanya??) needs a few lessons in decorum!!!

Had a birhday lunch for a lady with learning disability the staff were attentive and provided the best service they could whilst also undertaking kitchen duties. Food was great and the value for money was excellent I must add my steak was spot on and great quality far exceeding my expectations.

Very slow & poor service. Left sitting with empty plate on table for long period of time. Rushing us when trying to order. When asking my young Daughter about drinks, waitress just kept saying fruit shoot? Food was nice after a significant wait for it. Overall not a great experience.

The member of staff we met upon arrival was very rude, it felt like we weren’t wanted there, even though the place was empty & the portions were quite small for the price. Won’t be going back.

Food was good lady that did the bookings and payments was dreadful. Stomping around like a prison warden with her keys didn't want to unlock the front door she was rude. But like all the beefeater food was good 🤙

Met with the rude manager as I walked in who continued her personal conversation before even acknowledged me.. asked if I had booked which I had not to be told you should book as lots of work men stay it's 10am I'm sure they are all at work by now...restaurant empty 5 other ppl and me which makes 6... trust me when I say its a big seating area so no reason to book... food did came quick however not hot and egg slighty under cooked... coffee not hot either... guys arrived as I was leaving and manager was also quiet rude to them ... think she possibly needs CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING...

We ate here over New year and even booked in for our meal on New year's eve, only Two lady's seemed to run it right and one of them was new, waiter forgot to order our desserts on the second evening, and our final night Hunters chicken certainly didn't resemble what I ordered and the waiting for food was stupidly long, couple of young lads even said Gordon Ramsey should pay a visit as they had waited an hour for food, plates from all tables seemed to be sent back, my second hunters chicken was worse than the first which I didn't think was possible, even the drinks they couldn't seem to get right, order a wine and a cocktail had to go to the bar for the cocktail as no staff to be seen. We refused to pay told them to retrain staff and get a new chef and left to find somewhere else to eat.

Only negative was never got offered the evening menu which in hindsight could have saved me/us £20 to £25

Was disappointed with our mains son received wrong main my chicken was more than chargrilled was burnt dry unable to finish. We visit regularly but the decline in the food served we won't be returning . A member of staff was constantly loud & swearing dark haired girl with tattoo's don't expect or want to hear while you have young children with you. What's happening to the Ladynairne constantly short staffed & food is is such a disappointment.

Xmas lunch was extremely poor ? Badly prepared and cooked food. Three sprouts (cooked from frozen) does not make Xmas lunch - nor does one angel on horseback !! Roasted spuds were small and hard. Starter of scallops was overcooked with prawns that needed to be cut with a knife !! All bad for £62 a head. Vastly understaffed for a busy day !!!

Wouldn’t return here even if you paid me… upon arrival was made to feel unwelcome after travelling all day just wanted to sit down and eat… at around 9pm after waiting to long for the staff to come round to order another round of drinks I went to the bar and ordered a Guinness and one of your festive cocktails (on your menu) the Guinness arrived the cocktail did not after I repeated the order I was told to ‘go f*** myself what does this look like a cocktail bar’ so I returned to my table and ordered the drink from one of the restaurant staff which it arrived from… won’t be hard to find happened around 9pm on the 19/12/23 we was the only people in there… food was equally as bad as your staffs attitude.

The decor is extremely uninviting dull and boring the fish tastes like greasy batter and the staff slid the sauce over the table and said here you go pal definitely never returning

Ended up booking a last minute table here. I've not been to a beefeater for many years We all thoroughly enjoyed the food and our waitress was awesome 👌🏻 Definitely recommend this place. Especially the festive menu 😋
