My partner and I and our dog Benji popped in for a light bite to eat. They were reasonably busy but still had adequate space for us and the decor was lovely and fresh. They are dog friendly which was fantastic. We usually order toastie and soup to share between us as we are light eaters. We had Roasted redpepper and tomato soup with cheese and red onion toastie. This was served to us in two individual bowls and plates. The portions were really generous considering it was split in two. There were two staff members. One seemed a little occupied but the other lady who took our payment was very chatty and friendly. Would definately recommend this cafe if you are in the area. It was also very reasonably priced for Linlithgow.
I been at KB with my family for a birthday meal. First strange thing I noticed when they brought a buttered fish for my child and fish was pale, oily and soggy (when breaded fish served for my second child looked great). When they brought my buttered fish I seen the same- A very pale, soggy, greesy thing on my plate :( Taste was not good eaither..butter was not crispy, but greesy and also had a taste of old flour, not sure what was wrong but I ate less than half. When waitress came to collect plate (she probably seen I ate no much of it) she asked "if all was ok?"..I honesty said that I didnt like my buttered fish and... waitress just replied "Thats ok", turned around and gone with my plate. She show NO interest in situation at all.. and I had no even a chance to explain why I did no ate my dinner.
Next thing I did not like, it when my kid's favourite song starts to play, some gentelmen appeared from kitchen with a hoover in his hands and without asking anybody around he turned his hoover ON and instead of music we listened a sounds of hoover for a few minutes. Kids were so upset. They said "we didnt hear our favourite song" :(
Now, after I came back home from KB I had a very upset stomack and it still sore, child who had buttered fish too complained about sore tummy too. So..not very good experience for 70 pounds we paid. Probably would not go back to KB again :-(
It pains me to write this review as I had high expectations. This was a 90th Birthday meal for my mother who had fond memories of lands of loyal.
On arrival we were not welcomed we took ourselves in and sat in the cosy lounge.
A young auburn haired lady came up to our party and said "do you want a drink !" Very abruptly and without the hint of a smile like we were all a bother to her.
Drinks arrived with the food Menus and then around 3 minutes they came back to take the order we asked for more time which was answered with a tut!
Anyhow ordered our meal and were taken through to dining room no water offered we had to ask. No wine list had to ask. No drinks offered with our meal had to ask. Then some of our party were still eating their starter when the waiters removed them to bring the main course shocking! A rest between courses would have been nice. There was a shortage of wine glasses had to ask again!
Dishes were removed from the table while some people were still eating. It really was like Faulty Towers ,staff did not appear to have been trained in customer service.
Lastly we relaxed back in the lounge and ordered more wine, which arrived warm ! Asked the waitress for a cold bottle to which she replied they had none but would put the bottle in the freezer!!!
This was meant to be a memorable experience for my mothers 90th, we did complain and asked to speak to a manager but was told they were not in the hotel that night there was no management!
Considering this was costly as taxis from Dundee and back and mediocre food was very disappointing
Stopped here looking for lunch whilst on holiday. Two ladies extremely friendly and sandwiches were extremely good value and very tasty, even gave us some slices of chicken for our pup, highly recommend calling in, thank you.

10/10 no faults. Food - exceptional. Service - superb. Atmosphere - welcoming. Special mention to the ribeye steaks & the chicken parpadelle. YUM! We even had breakfast the next morning & this too was really delicious & fresh.
Been past here a million times and never been in. Used to live nearby and my mum still does so popped in for food. Very well decorated and very bright cafe. Used to be the Woodgrove pub and what a difference. Nice varied menu and lots of baking. Had nice brie, cranberry and bacon toastiest. Good mentions and a fantastic piece of carrot cake. Will definitely be back!
As a regular customer to aldos i simply can not fault the food or service, really amazing value for money, so much food in the munchy box, brilliant fish and chips.
Great work people.
Lunch, excellent, soup and sandwich, wow, great tasting home made lentil and bacon soup, yum, tuna sandwich with crisps, my friend had baked potatoe with coronation chicken and side salad, various different items on the menu, nice tea room, nice people who own tea room and lovely young lady serving, give it a try, you’ll go back. I’m sure they could cater for a wheelchair user and have a disabled toilet as well. Very reasonably priced as well. Irene makes lovely apple pies, mmm to die for. Parking at back of tearoom or on street parking.
