Porcini At No.17 The Promenade in Argyll & Bute

We celebrated my wife's birthday here, and it was a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely delicious - the steak was the best I've had in ages. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the cocktails were excellent. We’d happily return and might even consider staying at the hotel next time!

We were staying at the sister property No26 and came to Porcini for dinner. We loved the style and ambience, and the service was decent and got better as the evening went on. Food was excellent (especially the starters, a salmon special and the italian ‘spring rolls’) as was the red wine. We went on a grey Monday and it was very busy so recommend to book in advance to ensure you have a table.

Went with my partner and both enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Porcini. He had chicken and I had sea bream with extra vegetable sides. We received a warm welcome, great varied menu, delicious food beautifully presented, generous portions all served by extremely friendly, helpful and professional staff. The restaurant is atmospheric, very comfortable, and both tastefully and creatively designed (as is the rest of this gorgeous boutique hotel) topped off with a great view across the sea to the islands beyond. A superb find! So good we went back for lunch the following day to enjoy another wonderful meal (spaghetti bolognaise, Ceasar salad) . This time topped off by the surprise desert - with candles - brought out for my partner’s birthday (we’d mentioned it the previous night!) which was a thoughtful and lovely touch. Very highly recommended!

It was nice enough but didn't blow me. Small portions for the price we paid. Lunch menu had much more of a selection. Wine pricey. Staff lovely. Interior lovely.

Had a beautiful salmon and spinach cannelloni whilst staring at the water drinking an appletiser! Perfection. Stand out service and decor too. Would recommend.

We were going out with friends for a meal and we recommended Porcini. They were not disappointed. They absolutely loved it. You can usually tell how nice a place is by the cleanliness of the toilets, and this is no exception. The place is beautifully decorated and is immaculately clean. The food is fabulous and the service second to none. Definitely the best restaurant in Oban and if you like Italian, this is the place to come. We will most definitely be back!

Located in a boutique hotel on the promenade, it didn’t seem as though we were arriving at a restaurant. We enjoyed a delicious meal in a great environment. The decor is very quirky and stylish, creating an interesting and comfortable ambience. The food was excellent, and the service was very professional but warm. Do book, it was busy.

Ein schickes Restaurant in dem gleichnamigen Boutique Hotel. Da ich nur im Restaurant etwas ass kann ich das Hotel nicht bewerten. Das Essen war frisch, von hoher Qualität und hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Bedienung ist äusserst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Einrichtung (gefällt vielleicht nicht allen) hat mir sehr gefallen und trug zu einem gemütlichen Abend bei.

My partner and I enjoyed a very nice dining experience here this weekend. We shared two different starters which were very tasty and set us up for the main event. We both opted for the Spaghetti Allo Scoglio ( seafood spaghetti ). The seafood as one might expect was extremely fresh and we both enjoyed it very much. We finished off with some pistachio & chocolate gelato….ALL VERY NICE THANKS

I have been here several times before and was looking forward to enjoying a birthday celebration meal with family. Very disappointed. Inattentive serving staff, wrong order delivered to table, food poorer quality ( meat very chewy, cannelloni pasta under cooked), fingerprints visible around the edges of my plate of food. I declined to pay the 'discretionary' 10% tip that was automatically added to my bill. Sadly I will not go back and would hesitate to recommend.
