What a lovely little cafe the welcome as soon as you walked in made all the difference. All the food made freshly burger looked home made and I have never had a toastie with so much cheese oozing out and on tiger bread it was lovely. The selection of cakes and ice cream are mouth watering. Myself and grandson were stranded as we needed to get back to ferry not realising there is no bus on leaving the owner stopped his car and went out of his way to take us to ferry what a lovely thing to do proves there is some lovely people out there. We will definitely return a gem of a place thank you

Traditional cafe that takes pride in preparing food for each order. I had a fantastic full Scottish breakfast, good ingredients used ,well presented and hot. It’s served all day so perfect for lunch as you need a good appetite to enjoy . The takeaway counter was constantly busy with locals collecting their lunch, always a good sign.

Cafe Riva, in Kip Marina is a great Italian run cafe. Great food, great value, friendly staff. Every time I have been there it has been busy which is a very good indication that they have got it right. The guys working in the marina seem to call in frequently to order from the carry out menu. The soup of the day and filled panini is particularly good value. The milkshakes are great. My wife had three!! poached eggs on toast! She was only expecting one. My granddaughters who have allergies to gluten and dairy were very well catered for. Caio,

Thanks to Trip Advisor we found Cafe Riva and what a great find. Located in Kip Marina you can have a wee wander around all the lovely boats before or after lunch. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff who took our order. The place was busy but we were served quickly which is good when you have a hungry impatient 3 year old with you. The food was lovely I had the full Scottish breakfast and all the ingredients used were top notch. My son had the French toast which he demolished and my daughter had the soup and panini deal which she said was amazing. She also said her milkshake was the best she'd had which is high praise from a stroppy teenager lol. I love a good strong coffee which you never usually get when you are out but the coffee at Riva was lovely and just what I needed to wake me up. I highly recommend trying Cafe Riva if you are in the area you won't be disappointed and we will definitely be back.

Visited Riva for the first time on Saturday 26th March 2016. We both ordered the full Scottish Breakfast. Young girl that served us was so friendly, attentive and pleasant, couldnt do enough and nothing was a problem. The food was excellent. So much so that we returned on Sunday 27th March 2016. What a difference a day makes! The young friendly smiley happy girl from the day before had been replaced by an older not so friendly not so smiley not so happy woman. We both ordered the soup and sandwich, soup advised on both boards was lentil and ham. When the woman brought the cutlery, and juice there was no smile or interaction with us. It looked as though she didnt want to be there. When soup came it was clearly not lentil and ham. When I asked the woman what soup it was I was told tomato I said boards said lentil and ham, her reply was we had that earlier its sold out. I feel she could have told us that when we ordered as both would not have chosen tomato soup. I left my soup as it was not what I wanted. The woman did not ask did I not enjoy or was it not to my satisfaction although she did comment to staff behind the counter that she did not ask what was wrong with the soup. When settling our bill we advised the young gentleman behind the counter that there was nothing wrong with the soup it was just not what was advertised and to be honest the hostile service from one member of staff was shocking and not welcoming at all. It is such a shame as we had received such lovely service the day before and that is the whole reason we returned, and unfortunately I dont think we would return again. My review rating is based on my first visit when the friendly welcoming staff where on.

We ordered cappuccinos along with a Danish pastry and a teacake for which we paid £7.30. Other customers who arrived after us were served before us. On occasion when the card machine isn't working or a wallet has been forgotten, the staff allow us to pay on our next visit. This shows how friendly, trusting and thoughtful they are. Cheese cake without the biscuit. Scones had been microwaved. Clotted cream was not clotted cream. Coffee was instant and was awful. I would not recommend. Only good part was the prosecco.
