TO RUN AWAY!!! terrible service. The size of the dishes is ridiculously small. It is really not cooked. Straight from the freezer or from the ready-made bag to the plate. The fish smells bad. Much too expensive for the quality offered. If you want to eat well or have a good time, go elsewhere!!! TO FLEE!!! Terrible service. The size of the dishes is ridiculously small. Perfect end to a lovely stay at the Gailes! We decided to have breakfast at GG’s as we have been before and it never dissapoints! The food is always SO good & the staff are so friendly warm & welcoming! We were looked after today by Irish Liz who was so lovely & made our morning! We went to the driving range after breakfast and the staff made us coffee and drinks to take through with us too! Delightful relaxing morning thank you everyone ❤️

At first glance, we thought this would be just a basic breakfast buffet, however it is supplemented nicely with various menu items. Food was fine, and I might have given three stars, except that our server Nick made me the most incredible cappuccino with almond milk. He also had good suggestions for what to order. Truly exceptional service and I am bumping it up to four stars. Excellent almond milk cappuccino. Thank you Nick!

We spent three lovely nights at Ardshealach Lodge, on a bed and Breakfast basis, and chose to have dinner there each evening. The standard of accomodation was excellent, huge bed, large bedroom and lovely views. This is such a relaxing place with a wonderful warm and inviting welcome where nothing is too much trouble. As always the standard of food was superb as was the service. We have eaten here before and would definitely come back to stay again.

Food was lovely and well priced. 2 courses for the price of 1. I got soup to start which tasted homemade, a hot roll and butter which was lovely. My main was tempore haddock and chips with peas and tartare sauce which was absolutely gorgeous tbh. Well impressed. My husband had chicken strips in spicy sauce to start and a burger with skinny fries and coleslaw which he really enjoyed. My son had chicken strips and fries for his main, his dessert was brownie and ice cream - from the kids menu as he is 9. My son's dessert was forgotten about for over half an hour but he got it eventually when I reminded the server; they were busy so I can't feel too annoyed. Lovely restaurant. Would eat there again.

Your address is miss-guiding. You are not in Castle Douglas, but 15 Miles away in New Galloway! A drive after dinner!

We were so disappointed that this once fantastic ice cream shop has now changed to ‘Mr Whippy’!! No flavour selection unless you chose the tubs mentioned in the previous review. My niece chose an Oreo milkshake which was OK at best and extremely overpriced at £6! Will not be back!
