Me and my wife went a few times to get the breakfast from Montpeliers. The full monty is specially great. The vibe of the restaurant is very relaxing, the architecture and interior design is very well thought. The service was always great, Amber was a specially thoughtful waitress. I would definetly come back when in Edimburg.

Atmosphere is very nice here, but the food I found at dinner to be really bland and poor quality. Found it a shame as we had previously really enjoyed eating here, but this time around really felt like the food missed the mark. We did get the Dine out for £15 meal but it really was not worth it, would rather have paid this elsewhere

A nice place for breakfast but best to book. Always busy. The last time we went, we were offered a tiny table in a squashed up corner, because everything else was reserved. We went elsewhere, as it wasn't the usual experience we were used to. Unfortunate.

We visited Montpellier’s and Ro was our server. Ro was very friendly and made sure we had enough food and drinks. We really enjoyed our night.

Waited almost 2 hours for some lunch. Eggs were undercooked and then told they would like the table back. Overpriced and underwhelmed

This was my last stop on my trip to Scotland. I'm amazed at how friendly the people are here and in this restaurant. I spilt wine on the floor and on the lady at the next table. I will feel terrible for a long time because people here are just too nice. Please visit Scotland and forget about central or southern Europe. Here you get quality food at a reasonable price.

Service staff were so lovely whilst serving me and my girlfriend, our cocktails were spectacular!! Unfortunately our night was soured by the sight of a middle aged man acting very inappropriately with one of the serving staff. Otherwise we had an incredible night.

This place is over priced due to the location and interior decor. The 2 children had waffles with nutella that were so dry one tried to poor his hot chocolate in it to aid swallowing. My eggs benedict had fake hollandaise sauce and was cold and difficult to eat. My girlfriend had avocado on toast - cant really ruin that but can overprice it. Overall 57£ for highly unsatisfactory food. Fortunately I managed to prevent my nephew going the same day later as he was visiting and it came up on a google search. they had a happy brunch in gorgie dalry for 20£

Very tasty. 🧀Roast Butternut Squash and Mozzarella Arancini. Decent starter. 🥩 Thin cut 28 day aged rump steak frites with Diane sauce. Steak was seared and well seasoned. Sauce a little on the thin side but tasty too. 🦪 Thai Green Curry Steamed Shetland Mussels with flat bread and fries. Quite a spice hit with a mixture of textures from the Mussels. I visited with a girlfriend for a coffee after a movie, and had Georgie as our server. She was so friendly and gave us lots of tips for what to do in Edinburgh. I booked Montpeliers for lunch last Friday, as a friend was treating me I was keen to go somewhere with a deal. Unfortunately although advertised as 50% off Monday to Friday that wasn’t the case last week, occurring to staff that date had been removed as they were busy, very disappointing, either it’s an offer or it’s not, whole thing was very embarrassing and I suggested to my friend moving to a place that didn’t exclude days down to being busy. It was in small lettering down the page which I didn’t scroll to as i immediately hit the button to book after reading in the main part offer included Monday to Friday. According to staff a number of people were annoyed and her parting words were i don’t blame you for leaving.

Excellent food and wonderful service from Peggy-Nan. It was generally a fantastic experience for us all. Short rib sandwich was a particular highlight.

Another great meal at Montpeliers Bruntsfield! Great food in a great atmosphere served by friendly staff. What more could you ask for ? 50% off mains for January was appreciated but bill still came to £80 for 2 courses & 3 courses with wine so not the cheapest of outings . Nevertheless it was a nice night out but Black Ivy which is close by is better value but with a different vibe. Look forward to returning to Montpeliers following their refit to try different menu’s.

Long waiting time for breakfast order. Very small portions. Plate was in fact half empty. Americano was very weak and worse than at any diner. Service charge for a group of 4 not optional. Despite the nice atmosphere and interior we will not be back as the food and drinks don’t hold up to our expectations and the menu is frankly quite uninspiring. So applies to the plating.

It's ok. Staff are lovely and friendly, it's just the quality of food isn't great for the price. We've visited quite a few times and there's always an issue or disappointment with meals. Drinks however are good and as mentioned, the staff are lovely, friendly and very helpful when something goes wrong. The atmosphere is great and we end up going for drinks now and then. Although it has a great atmosphere, it's close to "style over substance". Again, staff make a big positive impact

I came in for a New Year's Day breakfast. It was the best one I've had all year. I recommend the Bennett Omelette. Eggs, cheese, and fish! Wow! It's an incredible combo for breakfast. The Omelette was so rich and creamy. The fish gave the omelette a lovely smokey saltiness and texture. Highly recommended 👌
