We arrived for a drink and were told they were clearing a table for us - while they were doing that another group just walked in and sat down at the table - rather than tell them the table was reserved they just shrugged at us and said too bad. The manager was equally ineffectual. Don’t bother - pretty venue but can’t execute on the aesthetic.

Food and atmosphere were incredible. George was an excellent waiter and extremely attentive. Can’t recommend enough!

To relax in this beautiful space and be served excellent food and wine is a privilege.

Food was very delicious, service as good as it gets and a very classy establishment with a decent cocktail list. A real treat and worth the $.

Always a stunning place to go for drinks.

Queued outside to get in to only find out that unless you pre-booked a meal you are prevented from even viewing the dome and can only get shuffled into an enclosed side bar. Would not have bothered queueing if this was explained by the doormen or signed.

Beautiful place as as we are x m as freaks and often get on the road a week b4 Thanksgiving and back 1st or 2nd week Dec. We did this place and the dome part was Beautiful, big tree and impressive dome. Menu was limited, food not the best, it's just a place you need to go because it's on tik tock.

Just went for drinks and to really see what the hype was. Some reviews on tiktok said could look around if not having dinner however false info. Long wait outside for about 30-35 min, expensive drinks but it is what it is i guess. To be fair we did visit during Christmas time and understand it gets busy. Lovely staff and decor!

What a lovely place to visit for a drink and or a meal. Feels like luxury, its like the Ritz in London. Their New Years Eve event was amazing.

The service matched the ambiance perfectly. However, each dish fell flat in flavour. The burger was catastrophically overcooked and was extremely dry. The desserts were even more disappointing. I wish the food could have matched the beautiful setting.

Just went in for a look. Was beautiful Inside. So we booked a table. Everything was 1st class, staff were so friendly and welcoming . Food was amazing. The atmosphere was so nice. Toilets were really nice.

Fabulous venue! We had an excellent vegan afternoon tea. Coffee/tea pots filled up twice. Staff are excellent, attentive without being intrusive. Thoroughly recommend.

We were able to enter the club section where drinks were available. Beverage prices were lower than we expected, but snack prices were above normal.

Beautiful place, with great food. We were reading some of the history about the building and we even got a pamphlet with information and our server explained what to look for for example the bank logo on the central window and mosaic on the floor just in front of the bar.

Poor quality over processed food. I had to book in February to eat on December 28th so I was bitterly disappointed with the poor quality food. Not actual Turkey but a heavily processed turkey roll co reed on fatty greasy bacon it was revolting. The service was great the decorations very festive but the good needs to change. Friends recently had afternoon tea here and said that was ok, maybe try that instead. All of the staff were great,

An incredible experience at The Dome restaurant! The venue is simply sumptuous, with a magnificent dome which gives a unique and elegant ambiance. The food was excellent, with tasty and well presented dishes. The atmosphere was warm and very pleasant, ideal for having a good time. I highly recommend this restaurant, it’s a real gem to discover!

Special, very special afternoon. The food was excellent, the cocktails were boozy (as anticipated) and the staff excellent. The venue was fabulous and so festive. Thank you for last minute to adjust our increasing numbers. Will book again for next year definitely.

Had travelled up from the Midlands, primarily to visit family for Christmas week. Having, by coincidence, previously seen a YouTube review on "GaryEats", decided to book a visit on Boxing Day for the Festive Menu. Service from arrival to departure was first class. All three courses, Soup, Venison and Christmas Pudding were excellent and nicely presented. Attention to detail was impressive from the smartly dressed staff to the immaculate table cloth and shining tableware. Beautiful building made even more impressive by the decorations and the ceiling lighting with its ever changing subtle colour transitions. Even the Gents "powder room" was impressive and immaculate! Like Gary, I, too, left with a BIG smile on my face!

A must visit if in Edinburgh stunning building great service, we only had canapés on New years eve but will be back to try the full menu soon.

Queued an hour for walk in drinks. This was a Saturday and due to the Christmas period, the wait was probably longer than normal. The fake snow whilst waiting outside was a good addition, albeit did get excessive and came down in clumps. The bar itself was tiny and given this, menus should be given to customers prior to entry so they can choose beforehand. In addition, there was only one server behind the bar. We managed to take photos outside the restaurant which was nice and the prosecco was delicious. Will definitely book for dinner in advance next time.

We were only able to see it from outside. The queue was terrific and standing under the rain to wait and enter was not a choice. You need to book at least two months in advance in December. Because when i tried to book one month before my visit everything was fully booked. So we took pictures and videos outside and we left. Make sure to book a table well in advance or expect to wait at least one hour.

Visited in December when all the Christmas decorations were up and I must say they were AMAZING… so beautiful. We had the festive set meal and it was absolutely delicious. Would love to visit again someday x

Had an amazing time with friends at the Georgian Tea Room. We all loved the food and the service was attentive. Stuart was very nice and mady it super special for us!

We weren't able to reserve a table to eat there but we stopped by to see the Christmas decorations and it was magnificent! Fit for New York during the holidays! We were very well received by someone on site, thank you.

The Dome is always on my list for a visit when I'm in Edinburgh.. Especially at Xmas when it really shows off and shines. I've just enjoyed morning tea! A bit of a different experience but all very tasty.

Spectacular bar and restaurant. The place is impressive and in January with the most beautiful Christmas decorations. You can make a reservation or wait in line for a drink, coffee etc. It is worth stopping by if you are in Edinburgh

We went for meal as we wanted the bit extra festive feeling and extra quality was amazing and staff where very friendly from minuet we spoke to front of service all way through untill we left we both had 2 course Christmas meal both had chicken patte was incredible as was Christmas turkey meal also would recommend Pina colada 0% alcohol so refreshing

He lives by location. We stopped for tea and there was no possibility of having an accompanying dessert. Furthermore, the room was cold.

Went here for my fiancee’s birthday, and the atmosphere is spectacular. Especially it was still decorated in Christmas vibes, with a huge Christmas tree in the middle and lots of lights, probably the best interior I’ve visited for a restaurant & bar 😊 We ordered their Christmas set menu (2 courses for £40). We got smoked salmon rolled with cream cheese as appetiser, and Christmas roast dinner (Turkey roulade, roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, roasted carrots & parsnips, brussels sprouts, and gravy). Both are delicious, well seasoned, great presentation, and perfectly cooked! The turkey was very tender, they cooked everything very well and great amount of seasoning. The only room to improve would be the roasted potatoes, as it wasn’t crispy on the outside and lacking of seasoning. However, everything else were wonderful 😊

A beautiful place for afternoon tea!

If you find yourself in Edinburgh then a visit to The Dome should be on your priority list. I'd recommend booking in advance as this location is very popular but you can walk in if you're lucky. The design of the building is stunning and it's a fine place to either grab a drink or some lunch. Highly recommend a visit.

We were really excited to come here but the service (or lack thereof) provided by our waitress Karen has ruined the experience for everyone in our party. The food was mediocre at best, with the venison feeling a little bit tired (good trout though!) Shoutout to Elliot, the only saving grace of our visit. There are significantly nicer places with equally beautiful Christmassy decorations (the Spence!!)

First time visiting the Dome and wanted to see what the inside was like at Christmas. First impressions are that it is beautiful, especially at Christmas. The lobby smells of cinnamon and the security guards and front of house are great. Our server was Juliette, she was exceptional very professional, paid attention to detail and all round a good server. Some of the others weren't as good, for instance, the small attention to detail, like ensuring plates with the logo were presented the correct way up. The food was good but again nothing spectacular. The hummus starter was a little too acidic and could have done with being a smaller portion. The cheese board needed some more care and attention as some were dried out, this was rectified very quickly but as its also an additional supplement it shouldn't happen. The portion sizes were very large, the cheese pieces could have been half the size but more looked after and it would have been worth the money. Overall, I'm glad I've been, but I'm not sure I'd rush back. It feels a little like a really nice upmarket establishment that has lost a little care due to popularity, which is a shame.

We went to the Dome this evening as a recommendation from our friends, we didn't make a reservation so we had a short wait in the que out the front. We met a really informative friendly doorman. We didn't wait for long time at all. Great job and a beautiful venue, Highly impressive views with reasonably priced drinks menu! Thank You Connor !!!

Christmas Eve lunch - service was very attentive, the food was fantastic (especially the Ribeye steak, Grilled Trout and the Sticky Toffee Pudding) and of course the Christmas decorations were second to none! Have marked the Atmosphere as a 4 only due to this is the sort of venue that would be complimented by someone playing some live background music e.g. a piano playing some Christmas songs.

I visited The Dome to see the spectacular lights they have displayed at Christmas. I queued around 40 minutes for a table of 4. If you were a table of 2 you were seated quicker, which wasn’t a problem. The venue did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and approachable. Every detail of the Christmas display was just breathtaking. I sat in the bar area and had a hot drink which was delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing and cosy, with dimmed lights and comfy seating. Well worth the wait, would definitely recommend a visit :)

We were seated at 9 PM and greeted by an extremely unengaged server whose name I couldn’t tell because there were no niceties at all. Our starter didn’t arrive until 10 PM and once finished, it took another 15 minutes for the plates to be cleared, during which our drinks sat empty. We eventually had to request a drinks menu and after a further 45-minute wait, our mains finally appeared and were quite literally dropped on the table with a dismissive “your mains” from the runner, who avoided eye contact and ignored the fact that we had no drinks on the table. Our server eventually took our drinks order, however, by the time our red wine arrived, we were already two-thirds through our mains, having also waited briefly for the wine to arrive before starting. We had intended to enjoy the three-course menu, but after waiting over two hours just to get through the starter and main, we decided to skip dessert and leave. The food itself was average—perhaps due to the Christmas menu—but the excessive wait times and poor service overshadowed everything. This was far from the experience we had expected. Looking around the restaurant, it was clear we weren’t alone in our frustration. Many other tables appeared dissatisfied, while staff seemed more focused on chatting, giving each other massages at the bar, and resetting empty tables (presumably to get their sections finished to get sent home earlier) rather than clearing plates and getting mains away. To add to the disappointment, one of the sides we ordered never arrived. As this item was not included on our bill it was clear the waiter was aware of this but chose not to communicate it to us or apologise. I usually read reviews like this and assume the writer might be overreacting or simply disgruntled, but that is not the case here and I’d strongly urge management to review their CCTV footage to confirm these issues and take immediate action to improve the service quality. Frankly, I believe 2 stars is generous for such a terrible experience. The only saving graces were the beautiful Christmas tree, which deserves one star, and the fantastic drinks—both the cocktails and the wine—earning the second. Beyond that, the experience was appalling and naturally we removed the service charge from the bill – again, no queries as to why we had chosen to do this came from the management team.

The Christmas dinner was delicious, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was magical. A brilliant place to experience.

Holiday late lunch was amazing in the grill room. Decorations were amazing. Food great. service great. What a treat for a special occasion or holiday experience.

To enter, if you do not have a reservation, you can only access the drinks room, which to enter you will have to wait in line for a long time (at least that happened to us, about 20 minutes of waiting). When you enter, they select a place for you to sit, and if you're lucky, you don't have to sit on the stools, as they are attached to the wall, you sit looking at it, instead of looking at the room (which is beautiful, by the way), and the shelf to support the glasses was very small. If you are lucky enough to be seated at a table, you will enjoy it more and be more comfortable. The drinks were very tasty and there was a great variety. The passion fruit cocktail, vanilla... is delicious, I highly recommend it, the waitress did great! The chocolate with cream is a shake type. The strawberry cider, cherries... was delicious but not that much. In a place with so much glamor and cachet it is rare to have to go to the bar to order drinks and not have the waiter come to ask you questions and serve you. After having a drink in the drinks room, they let you access the corridors and the upper floor to see the rest of the place, but they will not let you access the main room or the tea room, which must be really beautiful . The hall is beautiful, especially the hanging chandelier looked like something out of a movie; It was gigantic. If you go at Christmas, with the Christmas decorations up it is even more beautiful, because you can tell that they do a great job of decorating.

What a nice experience, definitely the most beautifully decorated Christmas 🎄 time. This takes everything to the next level. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. The service was also on point. Not much you could really fault here. Beautiful restaurant, friendly service, amazing food.

We absolutely loved the whole experience. The staff were excellent, food was delicious and ambience was just right . very ‘Christmassy’ with beautiful music playing in the background. I would absolutely recommend and will definitely come back.

The Dome is an exceptional place to dine, especially during the festive season. The Christmas decorations are absolutely stunning and create a magical atmosphere that elevates the entire experience. The service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. I opted for the set menu, which offered a well-curated selection of dishes, all beautifully presented and full of flavor. It's a perfect spot for a special occasion or simply to soak in the holiday spirit while enjoying a great meal.

The Dome at Christmas has an amazing ambiance but it is let down by its some of its staff and food. We had an issue with my husband’s starter (caused by kitchen and pass staff not our waitress) but thankfully my Burrata didn’t go cold as we waited. My venison looked lovely but it turned out out it had sat under heat after being cut and then turned over before being served as it arrived looking rare but when I turned the pieces over as they seemed a bit tough I saw they were grey indicating they had been sitting under a heat lamp. Management try to provide a luxurious experience but unfortunately are let down by some of their staff.

The setting and atmosphere are amazing!! Food is OK but not up to the great setting and atmosphere.

Could not fault our wonderful visit to The Dome yesterday, Christmas Eve. From the helpful doorman, who assisted me with the lift and door, followed by a warm welcome from the hostess to all of the fantastic waiting staff. We had an absolutely amazing start to our Christmas. The food was exceptional, the drink choice was extensive (and the festive cocktails were a great addition).5 star all the way ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is my second visit to the Dome for afternoon tea. The food was fine, and we were asked about allergies and I said I had an allergy to berries and I was asked what I would like instead as a substitute. Anywhere else I have had afternoon tea they have had this sorted and told me exactly what the alternative was. Not sure I would rush to go back

This place is magnificent! We booked a reservation well in advanced and were sat upon arrival. The hostess was adorable and inviting. Upon sitting, we were greeted by a very kind server, Cullin. He explained the Tea experience and made excellent recommendations. I’m a big fan of his favorite, Rooibos. Orange and cranberry Scones with clotted cream and jam were delectable. The bacon sandwich and sausage roll were a savory delight. Everything was delicious. I topped my experience with a glass of bubbly! The entire building was glimmering with holiday cheer. The best holiday experience. Be sure to book ahead. You won’t be disappointed.

It is the ideal location to kick start our Christmas. Loved it heard so much about it and this was out first visit. Would highly recommend to family and friends. First class experience

Absolutely gorgeous place 10/10 for everything

Amazing! Came here for an afternoon tea for my sisters birthday, the staff could not have been more friendly and attentive and afternoon tea itself was so tasty! The team in the Georgian tea room really went out of their way to look after us and from start to finish we had an amazing time. I would highly recommend!

We visited over the Christmas period and it was very busy waited 30mins to get in as we didn’t have reservation, but it was worth the wait. We got into one of the side bars and it was lovely. The door men were very helpful guiding guest to free tables. The mixologist Morgan at the bar was attentive and friendly all the staff individual wished my wife a happy birthday. They also found space at the main bar for us to go to which was the highlight, such an incredible space. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Came for the holiday afternoon tea. I was extremely excited for this experience and found it lack luster. The environment was beautifully decorated for Christmas and stunning. The food was good. The service was fine, I guess (our server barely spoke to us) but for the price point there was nothing that cemented anything about the experience as special or worth more money than anywhere else. We were one of the only tables but seated in the worst table near the entrance, which seemed odd, and there was just no wow factor about anything. If you're a traveler and splurging on this experience maybe save the money and try another spot.

We visited Edinburgh last year for the Christmas markets, and failed to secure a spot here. Sooooo, made sure I had my booking secured in feb when released to avoid disappointment. Myself and my 10 year old son had the most wonderful experience, made even more special by the lovely staff and captivating surroundings, so magical! Thank you and see you next year 🎄

Booked for afternoon tea but only available time was 11.15am. Food and service was excellent. Paul, our waiter was very attentive and would recommend a visit, especially at Christmas with the beautiful decorations. Fabulous morning with friends

The open hours are not up to date. Wasn’t even allowed in through the front door to get to see the christmas tree. Security man told me i could go to the front door and look through the glass when I tried to walk forward he grabbed me and told me not to try and they were closed. Not a good experience place looks fantastic from the outside upsetting we couldn’t even get a chance to see the christmas tree.

Service that was above and beyond. Treated all customers of all backgrounds very well regardless, making a special night out for everyone. Everyone seemed to worked well together all with a great spirit friendliness and efficiency. Stunning Christmas decor, spectacular environment, like New York and a home alone movie. Big thanks to the staff organising the tables who managed to find a place for me as a last minute solo diner. Also thanks to those managing the Q who treated everyone politely. Food was ok, not five star but good. Potato and vegetables with the venison and the gravy delicious. Venison was just ok. Christmas pudding ok, but the ice cream with it was delicious. Glad I was able to eat within the beautiful grill rather than just a drink in the bar where service was a little slow.

We went for an after dinner, and luckily we didn't have much of a queue. So arm yourself with patience because you will find it safely, much depends on the time obviously. It's worth it though. The place is beautiful, almost magical at Christmas. Elegant and impressive. Very good cocktails. Fast and friendly staff. Average prices!

Amazing place, you want to be there, but unfortunately the food is below standard. The salty fingerfood was eatable, but the sweets were not even eatable.

At the Tea Room you are paying for a service and atmosphere, the food is mid. They have a child menu, which was excellent.

Beautiful place at Christmas. A 45 minute queue to get in but we'll worth the wait. The building is soooo pretty and the ambience was wonderful. Cocktails were a bit of a let down, they didnt even look like cocktails, and one was quite horrible.

This was a beautiful restaurant decorated for Christmas. We reserved a table in the Grill Room as you can see the Christmas tree. The wife and I had the ribeye steaks. The food was good. They just don't season their food like we do in the States. Everything about or time here was awesome.

I made our Christmas reservation in August and it was definitely worth it. I am not sure if we will go again as it is obviously an expensive restaurant but visiting once is a must! It is beautiful ! Food was delicious too. Wasn’t expecting anything less. For 2 people we paid around £165 . This included a 3 set menu and 2 cocktails + 10% service charge required by the restaurant.

Certainly a stunning location especially at Christmas. Just remember at Christmas the stunning main hall is for food but the side bars are equally festive though not as stunning.

Beautifully decorated for Christmas. The food was amazing and a brilliant atmosphere. We take our daughter every year and it has become our annual family tradition.

Didn’t have a reservation so was asked to wait in line. Waited 40 minutes in the cold and when our turn finally arrived, was told it was only for drinks! Pretty outside decorations however we won’t be seeing nor tasting anything inside! Utterly disgraceful of the outside doormen not to mention this.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is great, it is very well decorated and the building is beautiful. The attention of the waiters is very correct. Yes it surprises me that they don't know how to put a whiskey 🥃 as it should be but otherwise perfect

We wanted to visit the Dome to see the Christmas tree but had to buy a drink in the bar first then we were told we mustn’t cross the door step to view the tree, felt like school children being told off. Because we hadn’t booked for afternoon tea you weren’t allowed to enter. The place looked amazing.

Such a cool spot! Especially this time of year when there’s a full of Christmas explosion inside with the decorations. We hadn’t booked but they managed to squeeze us in. Great service, good beers and delicious cheese!
