Always love the Dome, never had a bad meal or service, and Xmas is fabulous.

We had fantastic service from Augustine but all the staff were professional and friendly. Food was delicious - the table d’hote is great value and the battered haddock was huge! It’s a special place for lunch so we’ll definitely be back

The place is spectacular, very luxurious, but the service at the reception is very bad and the table service is not up to par, when it comes to paying the bill the card payment devices do not work either because the Wi-Fi does not reach to the entire premises. The food, some pieces are good but others are too greasy, no one eats the egg and mayonnaise sandwich, they left them uneaten on all the tables, that should guide them to change some components of the tea tray.

Sunday roast (lamb) was un eatable,2 slabs of fat,worst ever also the beef.must say we weren't charged for the lamb. But not the point you're in for dinner, so you expect to eat .wife ended in McDonald's round the corner. Place looks the biz but would never return.

Great location to show off beautiful architecture and fittings of this old building. Cocktails really nice and very attentive staff. Good mix of clientele. Definitely recommend 👌

I am very honest in my evaluations, but this afternoon tea was disappointing. I think I went with very high expectations regarding the place. The service wasn't the best, the sweets didn't surprise me in terms of flavor and one of the breads had a very strong yeast flavor. I believe that 64 pounds, for 2 people, is a high value for what was presented.

The atmosphere is great! This is an absolutely beautiful restaurant. The food is pretty good, nothing too incredible. The service was not very attentive, but satisfactory. Overall a good time, just not worth the hype.

While looking for a scrumptious afternoon tea, I couldn't have possibly stumbled across a better offer in Edinburgh (that is still affordable). The ambiance is impressive, and the wait staff was very friendly. I especially love that they offer a vegan option, which is not just a simple alternative. In fact, it was the best vegan afternoon tea I had so far.

We were visiting Edinburgh, only a railway day tour, and had two and a half hours to spend in Edinburgh. We know Edinburgh very well, so I booked a table in the Grill Room for drinks and snacks. What a real treat, the staff are smart and well dressed and very polite. Wonderful atmosphere and fantastic cocktails. My wife had two French Martini Cocktails and I two House Old Fashioned. The two hours we relaxed in the Grill Room was a far beer experience than we received on our Premier Dining Trip on the train.

Visited the Dome for morning tea. Surroundings were absolutely beautiful, service was good but food was a bit of a let down!! Especially scones & muffins. They were like cheap shop bought produce & very dry. Wouldn't visit again for morning tea. It was also Easter Sunday but the background music was Christmas songs...Bizarre to say the least.

If you're in the local area and feeling fancy, The Dome in Edinburgh is a MUST DO!!! It has good service, clean toilets and amazing food- I had the 10z sirloin steak. Additionally, if you're interested in old architecture then you cannot miss. But when there's something great there always things that need to be improved: the toilets need to be less cramped with higher quality toilet rolls or actual hand towels; slightly better service; and I know the quality is really high but they could try and lower the prices. Overall a costly but worth it experience.

We went for afternoon high tea. We booked two months in advance for a table for five. They gave us a tiny table that cannot even fit all the tea pots 🙈 it was not a relaxing experience and the place was rather crowded. I don’t recommend their high tea.

Spectacular restaurant, where the stately and emblematic decoration merges into exquisite cuisine and attentive service that is knowledgeable about its craft. Without a doubt a place to enjoy. Their starters and roast beef are delicious. We will be back.

Posto sfarzoso e d’élite dove però è possibile bere anche solo un aperitivo in una ambiente di altri tempi. Il ristorante se in linea con il bar deve essere esclusivo. Barman velocissimi dove non occorre attendere più di 1 o 2 minuti per avere un drink anche personalizzato, comodo nel centro e consigliato per qualcosa di esclusivo in una città caratteristica.

A lovely afternoon tea for my wife’s birthday. Atmosphere and environment makes it feel special without the stuffiness of some other places in the city. Food lovely and staff attentive and friendly without being excessively formal. All in all very enjoyable!

Went here following a friends recommendation. What a great setting. Everything about this was excellent, the mussels starters, ribeye steak, steak pie and deserts. The waiting staff were polite and friendly. Would recommend this without hesitation.

Love coming here for Afternoon Tea, the building is a beauty & atmospheric…food is good & presented beautifully…staff are attentive & friendly…2 points to make are, the scones appear to not be freshly made as in other venues I’ve been too, in fact if I’m being honest they looked “shop” like!! Also first time ever since coming to The Dome/Georgian tearoom has our server commented we only had 10mins left of our time slot, it was politely said but considering you close at 5 & our “slot was up at 4.15”.,,was there really any need!!

Ideal place to have tea with an assortment of sandwiches and pastries. The experience is worth it. The place is beautiful. The waiters are super friendly. The hours are from 12:00 to 17:00. The experience is recommended 💯x💯

We had an excellent time, the food was superb and all staff members were very kind, welcoming and attentive. The level of service was above any other restaurant I have been to, and I would absolutely return and recommend to anyone else.

Rather disappointed with the afternoon tea that I treated my friend too. Not very inspirational in the way of sandwiches; egg mayonnaise, salmon or ham and chutney. Scones were dry so suspect they were not freshly made; a very small sausage roll. Being The Dome expected it to have a bit more exciting choice of sandwiches etc..

We went to the Dome for the Supper Club and although the food was lovely the service was terrible. Once we got food no one came to ask how it was or would we like another drink. We had to ask for drinks menu then had to ask to order and then after 20.mins still no drinks. Asked for bill and they said we've taken the drinks off!!!! Well of course you would as we didn't receive these. Was such a disappointing end to a lovely evening. We.were.also there in January for a special occasion for morning tea and the service was appaulling. My daughter in law emailed about this but did not get anywhere/decent reply. Its such a shame as its beautiful and I have been many times but they need to brush up on their waiting staff. I would add that I was a waitress myself many years ago

Disappointing, my husband was served a premium beer in a Straight beer glass which made it flat! Overrated and pricey for poor service! The decor is beautiful but not enough seats and obviously not enough decent beer glasses!

So the place is sumptuous, I won't argue with that. Down to the toilets ! But the food...so bad. The vegetarian food for instance is just some wheat, undetermined other small vegetables, with maybe oil. It had no taste whatsoever, and you wouldn't even do that at home. Even the terrine had no taste. The wine was ordinary. The dessert was gelatinous with no taste.

My husband and I have visited the Dome on three or four occasions now and I can honestly say each time we have had amazing service. The staff are so friendly and welcoming! The food is phenomenal and definitely value for money. We have recommended a few people visit and they’ve all had amazing experiences as well. We will be continuing to visit whenever we are in Edinburgh!

Fabulous fine dinning experience. We’ve been coming to Edinburgh for 25 years and a visit to the Dome is a must. Food, ambiance and service are always first class.

I have been to the Dome before and absolutely loved the experience. I was back in Edinburgh and excited to return. I was disappointed, the stools are no longer available in the main bar so we sat in the Club bar. This Club bar feels like an afterthought and really is lacking in any atmosphere, glasses are piled high on the bar and it just feels a bit unwanted, yet you are still paying £29 for two cocktails! Service of the waiting staff was great but the guy on the cocktail bar was very vocal shouting at other staff. Unfortunately would not return.

Amazing food, service and location. The cocktails were amazing. I am gluten free but this wasn’t an issue at all, with a separate menu and lots of options. I had the sea bream which was amazing.

Was not impressed with the breakfast morning tea, waited an hour before our food arrived and even then one of our party got his 10mins after ours. The bacon rolls were cold and over cooked with a little bacon on the roll. The scones and...

The place is just magnificent and grandiose! Basically, we imagine that it is not necessarily for all budgets... But not at all! The prices are quite reasonable for the entire selection of drinks (pints at £5, gin or whiskey at £6-7 etc...). There is plenty to do with a nice selection of cocktails. The snacks, however, are somewhat reasonably priced (£6 for a bowl of olives or for 4 slices of bread with butter). The staff is very accommodating. A very good place, even to just go for a drink!

I was there for morning tea with my daughter for mothers day. Staff were welcoming. There was a wee hiccup with the service but it was quickly rectified by the staff. Would highly recommend the Dome. It is a stunning building.

It was a big anniversary and my husband thought he was taking us to a very special place. The restaurant was very pretty. Like being in an old glamorous ocean liner dining room. The service was decent but not excellent. The steak was VERY disappointing. Advertised as 21 day aged grass-fed. IT WAS NOT. Our ribeyes were very small (about 4 oz) not what was advertised. Also we could hardly cut or chew it. My husband ended up eating both because I couldn't even chew mine. So my anniversary dinner consisted of soup that I had as my first course. Every other meal in Edinburgh was amazing including take out. Wish we would have skipped this restaurant sadly. Very expensive and didn't even enjoy it. We don't mind paying a premium if we enjoy it.

Aesthetically pleasing and gorgeous decor. Food was lovely though I would love some more options .. tried the pan roasted chicken and panna cotta desert. A bit on the expensive end but good place for special occasions or to host guests.

It took them an hour to bring the food, and because we asked what was happening. They were not attentive at all, the food was not very good... the food without salt. The place is good to have a cocktail and that's it. Quite a few dissatisfied.

A great place to end a day in Edinburgh with some rare whiskey. The grandiose main room is under an impressive dome, hence the name, theatrically lit with a busy atmosphere. The place can get very busy so be sure to book.

Terrible experience. Our server was inattentive, slow, rude and uncaring. We ended up in their overflow room. No one came to our table for 40 minutes and we weren’t served until 1.5 hours after we arrived. She was inattentive to a food allergy which was inexcusable. I wouldn’t recommend it!
