Amber Rose in Edinburgh, City of

Little pricey can't lie £6.25 for a pint of Innis and Gunn and £4 for a cranberry juice a bit too much but can't expect less on the main part of the city. But highly recommended if you wanna watch football for sure.

The young blonde bartender was so rude. The nachos were bad….

Went there a few times and it always great. The drinks, staff and atmosphere are all really nice.

Matt is an awesome staff member who was friendly and happy to help us navigate the best tours to do and places to visit whilst we were visiting Edinburgh.

Lovely, lovely staff who could not do enough to help us have a great stag afternoon. A multitude of large TV screens all showing live sport. Nice range of food options. Recommend highly.

Went to the Amber for a couple of drinks with my friends and it was lovely. A employee called Gav suggested we tried Tennants with lime cordial- what a great suggestion! 10/10 for Gav. Can’t wait to be back and do the pub quiz.

Had a great time at amber rose last weekend with the gals, such a lovely pub, great atmosphere, but what stood out most was the very handsome, charming bar guy, think he’s called Gavin, he really made our whole experience so enjoyable, and we will definitely be back!

Came in a good few times throughout the summer, great location for watch the euros. Not only do they have a massive selection of drink but they also have a huge menu. Even to the point I was spoilt for choice and had to ask one of the employees for advice. A lovely young man by the name of Gavin suggested the crazy chicken burger and it was delightful. Fabulous staff and a lovely atmosphere!!!! Will be back soon!

Really nice pub with a local feel even though it is really central. Quiz night and music on too during week. Bar staff knowledgeable about drink offerings, got good advice from Gavin on what to order.

Went in to the Amber Rose yesterday for some drinks. We were served by Daisy who greeted us with a warm smile, she was extremely bubbly and sociable. Overall had a lovely experience here, will definitely be back xx

A decent pub which has sports broadcast and live music on certain days of the week. Location is convenient for a couple of drinks when other places are full.

An "ok" pub. Servers were not very friendly or helpful - a small example: they didn't know what the "soup of the day" was. Tables and floor were 'sticky' from food/drinks residue and obviously not thoroughly cleaned. Mens' washroom not clean. We won't be repeat customers.

Cozy Scottish pub with good food and nice ambience. Reasonably priced with good sized portions.

I was served by Adam who made my experience coming to the but so much better. He was polite, helpful and attentive at every moment. I could not wish for a better service. I will definitely be back with the whole family.

Me and my fiancé had a wonderful evening last weekend when we came in for a meal and drinks, the atmosphere was fantastic and the staff were brilliant! More specifically the young man Charlie was brilliant and was the highlight of our night! Pretty sure he was a manger and rightly so! We will be returning and we look forward to it :)

Before heading to the tattoo we stopped into the amber rose for a few drinks. Where we were served by a delightful gentleman called gavin who gave us recommendations for after the show of where to go and what to see and even recommend us places to go in Edinburgh whilst we visit. Splendid chap !

Came in today with the family for an escape from the crowds to a cosy scottish pub! Matt recommended us a special shot he called the “cement mixer” (wouldn’t recommend unless you want to make the bathrooms a little dirty haha) will definitely be recommending the amber and matt to my friend for our next stag do!

Was just visiting for the festival. Watched lots of shows found this little spot and found the atmosphere great, good comfort food and great staff in particular Matt, was very knowledgeable found us beer a local beer and catered to my allergies.

Matt is a dawg, really knows his way around the bar and man can he pour a crisp pint. If your ever here, ask for Matt, he really knows how to make your night one not to forget

Came in for some food and drinks during the Fringe on Monday. Adam served us and took our food order, was super helpful in giving us advice on what food to choose on such a large and varied menu. Lovely vibe in the the bar with music on and sport on the TV, will be back at the weekend after Adam’s recommendations.

Always my spare time allows me I stop by and have a dish of very professionally prepared and also the best ingredients alongside that having a pint...but tonight in particular Charly and Gav made happened my experience to blow to another level...in a positive way!!! Thanks again Gabs

Pretty perfect pub in my opinion, atmosphere was class but not to rowdy on Saturday watching the football. Food was good, had the small Plates watch are a decent deal and the pints were cold crisp and place seemed nice and tidy. Staff were great everyone that I spoke to, Macy was really helpful picking out good gins for my wife and introducing me to new pints instead of my standard Tennents, definitely worth poping in when in Edinburgh.

Just regular. They didn't have the meat on the menu. The burgers are not bad. The one with blue cheese is pretty good. You have to order food at the bar and pay for it when ordering. He asks you if you tip, but how are you going to tip before you know what the service is like? And, furthermore, if you have to order at the bar, the service is reduced to having the food brought to your table. And the worst of all. They placed us under a huge TV, and they were broadcasting the IPS-LIV match. With a Liverpool fan, dressed in his shirt, behind us screaming like a madman every time (2 times) his team scored a goal. And, furthermore, other people looked at us badly, because we covered part of the screen. It's a pub.

Welcome non-existent and not at all friendly, the waiter is anything but smiling. You pay first, and you are served: uncooked, bland and cold vegetables, plus they don't give you the cutlery, you have to look for them yourself, without a word of apology! Frankly, to avoid!!

Bored waiters, bad service. I had a lasagne, but there was hardly any noodles in it. Tasted like it came out of the package. TVs everywhere and very loud!

Burger was good but the chips nearly broke my teeth and the portion was small to say it was 14.99

A nice subterranean pub in Edinburgh. Popped in for a round with some friends on a Friday night. Service was good, but slow even in what looked like a fairly quiet night. Lots of drinks choice and plenty of seating so definitely worth popping in on your way past!

My family decided to give this place a try, as we walk past it every day as we walk to and from our hotel. Absolutely amazing food - large portions, very reasonable prices, and such lovely staff! We had the steak and ale pie, the fish and chips, mixed grill, and steak and chips - they were all made perfectly. Especially want to give a shout out to the brown haired girl working behind the bar - she was so helpful and kind. A little loud/busy, but it is soccer season, so nothing to be unexpected haha

Came in for a wee bite to eat before seeing a show. Booked a table and was sat very quickly. Was served by Adam and Jamie who were both lovely, very accommodating! Food was really good for the price, perfect for a quick bite. Will definitely return when I next go to edinburgh!

I visited recently and Adam provided excellent service, very friendly and welcoming. We had dinner here and it was fast service and great food. Atmosphere was great and was very busy for a thursday evening! overall brilliant time :))

Great food, the steak was cooked so good it melted in your mouth. A Wednesday afternoon visit, loved it.

We fancied a last minute roast dinner on Sunday afternoon and after searching the net found Amber rose but on line it was fully booked so we decided to pop in anyway, They did have space and we had our roast which was very good and value for money approx £13 the service was good, A nice bonus was that there was also entertainment a singer/guitarist which added to the positive atmosphere. I also noticed that outside they have a few private pods for smokers/groups of people which looked inviting.

The musician performing on 5th of May was amazing! Every request he was able to perform!

I gave the food 4 stars because I only drank beer. I came in to watch a live soccer game (Tottenham game) and ate it with a draft beer, and the atmosphere was really nice. If you have a chance to see a soccer game, I recommend coming nearby and asking about the game schedule.
