Lovely cappuccino and the staff were friendly and helpful. Friends that I was with had lunch and they had dietary needs, that the staff were really great with and offered alternatives. We were made to feel welcome throughout our visit and I will definitely be back again.

Lovely community pub. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good decor and atmosphere. Toilets spotlessly clean. Great menu and vegan options for all courses. I was offered a vegan option not actually on the menu and it didn’t disappoint. Kale and sweet potato pie with fries and green beans and cabbage. Delicious,! My friends and I extremely happy with customer service and food. I would definitely recommend it.

I can count on one hand the number of times I have walked out of a restaurant, and this sadly was one of them. I have eaten here on a number of occasions over the years, and had a good experience, but was firstly put off by the 1 1/2 hour slot allocated for a booking. We hadn't even had our main course well over 1 hour and 40 minutes later. My wife and I arrived before our slot of 7.30 pm to be waved in the direction of our table by the waiter. We might have known it was auspicious as the no. of the table was 13 situated bang next to the kitchen and a service cupboard. One of the owners came with menus and offered water which never turned up until I requested it over 20 minutes later when our order was eventually taken, but the specials were not shown to us. The guest on the next table offered his jug of water which was nice before. It was well over 30 minutes when the starters arrived just after our drinks. Whilst waiting, I noticed there was something in the glass of water that had been brought - not a jug, a glass. My wife also noticed the glass was marked or a little dirty. I asked the same waiter, to fetch me another glass and pointed out the issue. His manner was sullen as before. By this point, I had got fed up of the wait noting that our 1 1/2 hour slot was fantasy. We had decided to eat and leave and stop the service charge, but the waiter's attitude tipped me over to agreeing with my wife to leave. It was gone 9 pm by this stage and despite a couple of check-ins from one of the owners, we got up to go saying we had waited too long and complained about the waiter and moreso the delay The owner replied that they were terribly sorry, the waiter was not supposed to be on duty and his English wasn't very good. I replied that that was no excuse for bad manners. The other owner came over to say that our food was now ready, but I said that our evening had been spoilt and we didn't want to eat. He said that they had a lot of guests at once and were short in the kitchen. All of this is flannel: they have a booking system and time slots (1 1/2 hours hardly makes for conviviality. The atmosphere was zero tucked away on the worst table in the place. I had also had a word before that on the QT with another couple who confirmed they had also had to wait ages for their meal. I can put up with delays if we are kept informed, but not bad manners nor inefficient management. A really poor show all round. There's a difference between busy and chaos.

This is one of our favourite pubs to visit in the area and we were excited to return and try their new menu. Upon arrival, we were sat in their modern and well-designed restaurant and our drinks order was taken promptly. There was an extensive gin list and three excellent cask ales on offer. There are also numerous wine and lager offerings. The food that we had was excellent. The menu is not huge but it is sufficient and there is a varied choice. For starters, we went for the pork belly bites and garlic mushrooms on toast. The pork belly was crunchy on the outside but the fat was still soft and juicy and it was paired with a delicious maple and whole grain mustard sauce. The garlic mushrooms were rich and creamy and were simply scrumptious. For mains we had the minced beef and onion pie and the Harrissa chicken with chorizo risotto. The pies take 25 mins (this is expressed on the menu) and they are worth the wait. Beautiful, buttery shortcrust pastry and they are full to the brim. It is accompanied with a buttery chive mash and green veg. The chicken and risotto was superb too. It was chicken thigh which meant that it was juicy and flavourful and the risotto was creamy and the chorizo flavour really came through. We did not have room for dessert on this occasion but have had them before and they are always delicious. If you are in the area or looking for somewhere new to try then you must give it a go!

The Yellow Broom is best described as a blend of pure elegance with a splash of sophistication. The setting is undeniably beautiful, complemented by a warm welcome from the staff, who are clearly well-trained in delivering exceptional silver service. The menu offers a well-balanced selection of cuisine, ensuring there's something to delight every palate. The presentation of the dishes was nothing short of exquisite, and the flavors were simply delightful. The staff were remarkably attentive without being intrusive, striking the perfect balance between friendliness and professionalism. The atmosphere and layout of the restaurant were both appealing and comfortable, enhancing the overall dining experience. The Yellow Broom is a truly first-class establishment that consistently maintains high standards. I highly recommend a visit—you will not be disappointed.

Casual lunch with friends. Sadly, disappointed. Food appeared to have been microwaved to reheat it. Some piping hot, but some only Luke warm. Sauce and cheese flavour missing from Mac'n'cheese. No where near as I have had many times in the past. No grated cheese on top either. The place was nearly empty apart from the 4 of us there were only two other coupled and a table for 4. No atmosphere. Staff polite, but looked bored. Would be reluctant to go back again now... sad.

Oh dear, we must have hit a bad day. We had chosen Brassica for a family get together lunch as we had read so many rave reviews. Three of us chose the pasta based autumn special, while the fourth wanted only a salad. The paste was very undercooked, and I do know the difference between al dente and being hardly able to get a fork into it and the whole dish tasting of raw flour. We pointed out the problem and the plates were returned to the kitchen. When they came back to the table the food was hotter but the pasta remained unchanged. One of the group was so hungry she ate it anyway, but the other two found it inedible. The salad was quite nice, but at £12 for a small bowl of dressed leaves with slices of orange and a few walnuts I thought it overpriced. The staff were very good and some money was taken off the bill for the uneaten food, but that was hardly the point, we had gone expecting a lovely lunch on one of the rare times we could all be together and instead left still hungry and deeply disappointed

Yummmmmmmy. Fabulous find on our travels. This really is a lovely pub. Doesn't serve food all day so check the kitchen times but worth a drink in the bar while you wait for it to start serving. It seemed like quite a locals pub but in no way intimidating and made to feel very welcome. There was a good choice of drinks and some nice real ales. We all had a lovely meal. It is dog friendly so that is a bonus. Would definitely have used again whilst away if we were in the right direction.

First time here on a Saturday night. Great service. Food menu is small but a nice selection. The pie of the day was lovely (Steak and Ale) and the pudding selection was great. The price for the food quality was very good and not that expensive. Well Done Mr O’Gaunt 👍👍👍👍👍👍 4 out 5 🥧🥧🥧🥧

We came here for lunch after going to a recommended pub that was closed. A very good find. Courteous welcome and good menu. I chose lasagne. There was plenty of food, all very hot, and well garnished with salads. Good value for money at today's prices. A good find.

We managed to find an indoor table for 2, by the counter, after an invigorating walk at Cuber Gap. It was quite full for lunch and some had even gone outside in the marquee. The homemade soup was good and the rustic baguettes were filling and tasty. Good service, thanks
