The best restaurants serving British food in England

Sad to say that Pinky Murphy’s is no more….it was a super quirky cafe come coffee shop come artistic venue. Guessing Covid, Brexit and rent all had something to do with its demise.

We had the most amazing experience at St. Ermin's Tea Lounge. It was a dream come true. The service was extraordinary, the restaurant stunningly beautiful, and the food delicious. It is an experience my family and I will never forget. Additionally, the staff did a fabulous job providing an amazing experience for my daughter with a treenut allergy. They were so attentive and made sure her experience was phenomenal even with her allergy.

It is dog-friendly with treats and water. No cheap drinks (£5-£7 on average). Darts. Very community-oriented and warm welcomes. At certain times they serve some food, such as soups.

The pub has a very good selection of Gluten Free for my friend. She really enjoyed the meal. I certainly enjoyed mine as did the rest of the party. I would definitely cone here again for food. Friendly helpful barman as well

Bottomless Brunch 3pm - 5pm. By 4.30 we had still only received 1 cocktail. Service improved after complaining multiple times but a really poor service. Not worth the money at all. Very disappointed.

I can't say enough good things about Martha's. My wife and I stopped in to pick up sandwiches and drinks before a countryside walk. The food and service were both absolutely wonderful. The menu options were vast, yet we each felt as though we had gotten the cafe's special sandwich, as they were both so delicious. And did I mention how wonderful the people working there were? Because they were. Highly recommend your stopping by. Love this place.

The staff was so helpful and couldn’t do enough and the food was lovely, home made, Ed had lasagne and steak pie, very good portions and good value for money

Closed, but still taking online bookings. Resulting in 5 sad family members arriving for Mother's Day to a closed restaurant.

another fantastic evening at the spirit, marvellous food, quality is exceptional and excellent customer service The food is of the highest quality and the menu is refreshed regularly, we never fail to find something new and interesting. locally sourced produce presented to an immaculate standard. Definitely my go to restaurants when I want an exceptional evening out and meal. This is a proper restaurant I'm not a pub food person at all and thoroughly enjoy this establishment. Drinks beforehand in a nice friendly atmosphere escorted to your table. brilliant for a meal out and how restaurants should be..

Had an overnight stay in one of the shepherds hut and expectations were well surpassed! The huts are immaculately clean and well thought out. They are beautifully presented with high end finishes in secluded locations. The Japanese hot tubs were fabulous and easy to use with clear instructions. A word of advice, it builds up heat very quickly and you really don’t need to put that extra log on! The pub was also fabulous with amazing food, we all enjoyed our choices. We had the overnight stay with dinner, bed and breakfasts. Amazing value and will be back!

We booked for Sunday lunch and we had such a warm welcome! Friendly service, fire burning… they even had a bed for my assistance dog. They were fully booked for lunch so we were lucky we planned ahead. Lovely lunch - roast pork and a vegetable wellington. Loads of veggies and really well presented. Followed by crumble! Highly recommend - will definitely visit again.

I called in for lunch while visiting Bognor Regis. Everything was great - staff were pleasant and friendly, my prawn and salmon salad was fresh and delicious, and I didn't have to wait more than a few minutes, even though it was quite busy. My latte was carried over for me - I am currently on crutches, so this was really appreciated.

I can highly recommend booking a tour of Forman & Field. It's a great experience and I learnt so much from the owner who is very enthusiastic and engaging. The demonstrations are brilliant and ends with a delicious salmon platter served 8 ways.

Grew up in Ilfracombe and was always our favourite chip shop. Came back for a visit so decided to pop in and get some dinner. Arrived just before closing and ordered fish and chips. They gave us lots of free food as they had plenty left over. Tasted great! Lovely staff and will definitely come back again next time we come.
