What an amazing tardis of a place which draws you in with its thatched roof and promise of Wight shaped scones. It has extensive seating both inside and outside with an adjacent council car park. Bit pricey to park there ☹️. Visited three times:lunch, afternoon visit and early evening meal. There is a small bar inside and this room is the lively one in terms of engaging in conversation with one of the owners or other guests. The menu is varied and everything is freshly cooked. The scones are light and fluffy!! It is very easy to eat a lot here 😀 Very easy to reach by bus and a wee walk from the station We thoroughly enjoyed visiting.

A friend and I met up here lunch here recently. Neither of us had been for a while and both of us were very impressed with the additions - extended car park and stunning conservatory. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Even though it was busy the service was great without being obtrusive. As always the food was of good quality and presentation excellent. Look forward to visiting again.

We had a voucher from Travelzoo and so on Thursday we girded our loins and took the risk. the staff were very sensible and seated everyone as far apart as possible and kept their contact to a minimum. The food was great and very well displayed. The haddock smokie with egg was delicious. My steak was cooked to perfection. The Harrogate sticky toffee pudding was sweet but not sickly A very enjoyable evening. Let's hope the virus doesn't spoil this resurant.

We went to the Copper Kettle for an all- day breakfast and the food was delicious. The service was extremely good. The waitress and chef were very accommodating to the changes we wanted to make to the meals, (seed oil free). We would definitely recommend other people to visit and sample the great food and service.

Good variety of food options on the menu and good quality food. Given the name of the establishment, we were slightly disappointed by the wine list, as it only had a relatively small selection from which to choose and the list itself was very poorly printed. They do however have a good range of cocktails, which were very nice. Seating upstairs much quieter than downstairs

I’d been looking forward to this for a while but we were sadly disappointed. On arrival the bar area was nice and relaxed no complaints there. The restaurant area was lighter and brighter than expected and all seemed good the starters were ok my very expensive scallop was nice but nothing to rave about My £40 cod main arrived with a side fat chips and shaved truffle and it was bland really so I didn’t eat much of the small portion when the waiter came to clear the table I also explained that I couldn’t really taste the truffle on the chips. He came back from the kitchen with the message that most people have only tasted the stronger artificial truffle so that might be the reason I couldn’t taste it. I explained that I had eaten real truffle on several occasions and my husband who doesn’t like truffle couldn’t taste it either ! and from that point on it was like we were invisible! We had to ask for drinks and dessert menus and when we got the bill one of the waiters said they had knocked the chips off which was fine but that didn’t make up for the lack of service we got . We paid the bill and left without anyone acknowledging that we were leaving. It left a bad feeling about the place and we won’t be returning

Service and food were OK but a bit overpriced for what it was - £20 for ham, egg & chips, £23 for Cod & chips & £9.50 for desserts are definately on the pricy side - most other rural pubs seem to be £4-£5 cheaper than this. I understand costs have gone up & it's under new management but I'd be hesitant to return unless it was for a special meal - this pub is quite popular for walkers but is now a bit too pricy just to pop in for a post-walk lunch. The Sunday luinches seem to get good reviews so perhaps these are better value. We were also sat under a speaker which was borderline too loud (I never understand why places put speakers directly above tables when they could put them in spaces between tables).
