Todayâs mission: review Timâs CafĂ© at Thorp Arch, nestled between Wetherby and Tadcaster. Tucked away in an industrial estate thatâs more business than play these days, Timâs is a hidden gem. Once a bustling retail hub with a mega play park, it's now filled with learner drivers and instructors. Sundays are a madhouse thanks to the car boot sale, so either get there early or call ahead to place an order. Just a stoneâs throw from the prison, itâs worth a visit if you're tired of the standard cheese and ham toasties. Timâs has always been our go-to spot. We usually grab breakfast and some OJ. Theyâve got a ton of options and will customise your orderâwell, they do for us anyway. It's affordable and good value for money. Their bacon sarnie in a sub roll with extra bacon? Legendary. And their Full English is a hangover hero. The staff? Absolute legends. Always nice, chilled, and chattyâperfect if you're not usually the sociable type. Plus, your dog gets the VIP treatment with their own sausage. Fair warning: if you eat in, you might leave smelling like a fry-up. So, if thatâs a dealbreaker, just grab your food to go. All in all, definitely recommended.

We went to Wetherby today for a ride. It was our first visit, we were pleasantly surprised. We were looking for a cafe & saw Pomfrets down a lovely side street with beautiful hanging baskets & planters. We only wanted a drink , but the scones looked so tempting my husband had a pear & honeycomb scone. The lady that took our order I think it was Anna was lovely, friendly & complimentary. All of the staff were friendly & happy đ We will definitely return, when Iâm not on a diet đ€đ€€đ

What a treat ! Warm welcoming and comfortable. Excellent service , attentive and friendly . Now for the food ! Absolutely lovely . We had the set Sunday lunch and there was plenty of it and the flavour or the meat was to die for . Fresh local vegetables cooked to perfection and the Yorkshire puddings fluffy and large . A really nice starter a jug of soup each and super bread nibbles and a chicken liver parfait . I was most impressed at how well I was looked after as I have an allergy to alcohol. Nothing was too much trouble and I had my own soup as the other had alcohol in , it was tasty and sublime . As I couldnât eat the parfait either they brought me a delicious baked Camembert instead . The main course came in a skillet , to help yourself. Plenty of delicious meat and vegetables . The sweet was a sticky toffee pudding and a lovely creamy rice pudding , better than Mother used to make ! Would I return ? Absolutely and I canât wait !

A really great local pub and restaurant. We stopped here three times during our walking in The Lakes, once for food and twice for drinks after walking the fells. We always received a warm welcome and enjoyed the wide selection of brews. Food was great, high quality pub food that catered well for vegetarian and vegan options with everything accurately labelled. Lovely open fire place and great atmosphere with lots of people enjoying the food and ambience. Recommended.

Disappointing, I had a small black americano which was fine, but my partners latte was cold.He didn't want to make a fuss so drank it straight down. We then waited over 40 mins for our 2 breakfasts. I had bacon poached eggs and toast, was hoping at ÂŁ8.95 there would be 2 pieces of toast, but only one cold piece, bacon ok, but one poached egg solid. My partner had similar, but scrambled eggs. His toast was also cold.

Following a little recce of the three pubs in Kettlewell, The Kings Head menu stood out for their selection. The service, friendliness of the staff and the food itself was outstanding. I chose to have the 10 hour slow cooked brisket of beef in a red wine jus with hot pot potatoes and seasonal veg. Worth every penny and the nicest meal I've had in a long time. I'd recommend The Kings Head to anyone planning a visit to Kettlewell.

Visited this pub early evening and it was already busy so a good idea to book. This is a very traditional place, full of character and very friendly. The menu is pub grub which is a change to many of the pub/restaurants in the area and the prices are very reasonable. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area

Absolutely delicious! Fish pie and ham egg and chips. Fish pie really tasty with jacket potato and peas, lots of lovely fish, salmon and prawns in delicious sauce generously topped with cheese! Ham is amazing. Gorgeous fluffy chunky chips. Super service and friendly helpful staff. A warm welcome and really looked after, thank you so much đđđ»

We found this brilliant pub in Witney about a year ago and I wrote a very positive review about it, the atmosphere, the food and above all the really welcoming staff . Today we visited again after a drive of one and a half hours to Witney âŠand guess what ? It is even better than we remember , the 5 sharing plate lunch was superb, with extremely generous portions. But what makes the place so memorable is the staff, friendly, welcoming, and they cannot do enough for the customers , I can honestly say they are the most impressive team I have met in the last few years , they understand totally the concept of customer service . Congratulations to them all, we look forward to our next visit and to trying the recommended breakfast. And my wife says the cappuccino was perfect ⊠Keith Jordan
