The Boat House in Arun

I went to the Boat House the other week and I ordered the kedgeree. It was £15.95 which is a lot for what you get. The rice was hard and the fish obviosuly wasn’t fresh. I am extremely disappointed with the food as it used to be such good quality. I think the prices are very expensive and not worth the food quality, making me not want to come back again. I also met the owner and when I spoke to her she seemed very unwelcoming and rude. I also heard another conversation between her and another member of staff slagging off one of the other customer or staff I cannot be certain as to which one it was. As a customer having only been a few a time,this really came as a suprise to me to see no professionalism whatsoever. I am very upset and again disappointed with my experience. All around it just wasn’t an enjoyable place to be. This is such a shame as to what use to be a nice place for food can be so toxic and shocking.

The Boathouse is on our list as a good all round eatery and we have been several times over the years, always happy with the food and service. Popped in for breakfast today with my son. I ordered soft scrambled eggs on sour dough and although the eggs were just about soft, they were thinly spread across the one slice of toast, without reaching the edge . My son's breakfast consisted of one each of sausage, bacon, egg, toast and a small pot of beans. We both had coffee and the bill total was £24, which seems a little expensive for the portion size. WOW is all I can say .. it might be a while before we revisit.

The food here is just incredible ... hats off to the chef, our lunch was superb. Probably the best burger I've ever had. Dad had the kedgeree and said it was cooked to perfection. Mum had the fishcakes and finished them ... she has a tiny appetite and never finishes a meal, so that tells me everything about how good they were too. An unexpected gem of a place .... highly recommended!

Totally delicious fish and chips great portion size in the 2 for 1 offer they have on Weds. Nice outside area overlooking the marina.

Wow… I booked the boathouse to take my very special friend out to lunch. Haven’t been for years. Had a lovely meal and as it was Thursday, there was an “older” person’s menu. For £8.50 you could choose a wide variety of smaller dishes plus a selection of drinks. What a brilliant idea as us oldies can’t eat a huge meal. The choice was extensive with both my friend and I choosing poached chicken salad. A pudding had to be included as it was a birthday outing, and they were also delicious. Good time..tick, delicious food..tick, friendly people..tick, return visit…tick already decided to take friends there next Thursday. ☺️👍🏻👏

As we were both coming from different directions,we decided that a pit stop at the Littlehampton Marina was an easy fit 😊👍. As per each of our visits (at least 3 this year), we were warmly greeted 👍 We chose to eat outside on the 🌞 veranda & opted for the Fish & Chip deal, which represents VFM & tasty with it..😊👍 Will we return?... most definitely 👍👍

Stopped for a spur of the moment lunch, no booking made but the ladies were fabulous and found us a table straight away. The food was great, just a simple fish and chips, but freshly made and so tasty. We'll definitely be back, brilliant value for money and a great atmosphere too.

Came here for Friday night tapas for my sister's hen do and everyone said how great it was. The tapas were incredible - we ordered most of the dishes off the menu and every single one was amazing. The staff were really friendly too. Location is beautiful and peaceful - a little off the beaten track through the marina, but well worth the small detour out of town centre, and it's a very pretty walk to get to over the bridge. 100% recommend here for amazing food!

Went here for the first time on a Saturday Lunch time. The restaurant was almost full, but didn't have an over busy/hurried feel, which was lovely. One of us had fish and chips - the fish was incredibly fresh, tasted like it had been caught that day. The rest of us had burgers and fries. The burgers were lovely, but the cheese was not melted onto the burger, which was a little disappointing. Chips were pre salted - my son doesn't like salt on his chips, but eat them anyway. If they could ask you if you wanted your chips salted before they bring them out this would be better. A great find and we will come back for the tapas if we can find the menu anywhere.

I can highly recommend the two for one Fish and Chips Wednesday special. Truly the best Fish and Chips I've had in very long time. Excellently service, and we will definitely be going back there again...

We were out doing a few chores on the 19th & decided to pop in for some lunch. It was great to see it busy, with the only available tables being outside on their sunny terrace 🌞🌞. We ordered the fish finger sandwich & bubble & squeak, both of which hit the spot & arrived within about 10 minutes of ordering, which was impressive; bearing in mind how many tables needed to be served with only 2 FOH servers ..👍👍.. A return visit has been pencilled in..😊😊

Visited for lunch with my husband today. Decided to try one of the pies. It was delicious; well done to chef Toby2; lovely filling of pork, chorizo, apple and red onions. My husband said it was the best pie he has eaten in a long while. We will definitely be returning to this friendly venue.

Fantastic location. Really friendly service. And a super scrummy breakfast! I had the vegetarian breakfast, and I must say the sausage was good and great quality, mushrooms and hashbrowns

I've been here a few times but this was a post covid met up with friends.. We went on a Wededay which is 2 for 1 on fish and chips. We'll definitely be doing it again.. restaurant was full so if you fancy this deal it book a table or be disappointed. We were looked after and asked several times if we were happy with our meals. At the end were asked if we wanted a dessert but all passed so full. Maybe will try a Thursday when the off an over 60's menu.

Took advantage of the BOGOF fish and chips deal for 4 of us, greeted quickly and friendly and sat immediately even though we were a little early. Worth booking though. Fish was very tasty and the batter crisp and not at all greasy. Nice chunky chips and homemade tartare was to die for! Good selection of wines and beers and service was prompt and friendly, will defiantly be back again as we are lucky to be local.

I booked two weeks prior for an outside table for 6 Saturday at 2. As the weather was quite wet and windy I phoned two days before to confirm some sort of cover and they said the umbrellas were working well and they had blankets. We booked a six seater taxi for there and back so we could all enjoy our lunch. When we arrived at 2pm on the date booked there was a note on the door saying they were closed for the day because of the weather. We had to re plan and found a lovely place on the river in littlehampton where we discussed the disappointment that The Boat House hadn’t called us prior to us having to arrive and read a sign! I called the next day and spoke to a staff member. She said the owner was out and I should call back. I gave her my number and asked the owner to call me. I never heard from them, and I have no missed calls!

A beautiful take-away (due to lock down) afternoon tea for Mother's Day. We ordered a gluten free version for my mum. She said it was the best gluten free bread she has ever tasted and also the best sausage roll. All home made; it was delicious. She was delighted to have a gluten free scone and cake too. Beautiful attention to detail and most important of all, all delicious! The organisation was great and very accommodating to a late order. Very friendly and quick to reply to messages. We can't wait to go back and try more!Thank you Boathouse.

I came for a breakfast on christmas eve with my mum, dad and auntie, It was a great atmosphere the food was brilliant and I can honestly say I ate the best Spanish omelette I've ever had very friendly staff too which is lovely. Thanks again will definatly be back for another visit or many. Gemma

My wife and I came here today for the first time after seeing recommendations and we weren't disappointed. We both had the fish and chips (two for the price of one on Wednesdays) and we can safely say that it was the best fish and chips we've ever eaten (and we've been to Whitby!!).Compliments to the chef and all the staff.

I came into the boathouse today for lunch and had an amazing time. We had the soup to start followed by the kedgeree and my husband had the fish and chips. The boathouse was very corona friendly, all the tables were spaced out with hand sanitiser everywhere and the staff all wore face masks. The stuff we’re very welcoming and helpful. We will be returning soon

Arrived Saturday 17th October at 14. 30, we asked if we could sit outside and the member of staff said that she would bring us a menu in a few minutes.15 mins later no sign of staff with menu. Infact I had to go inside to get one after a waitress attending to another table outside and she could have brought us a menu. When I got a menu a member of staff said she would be out to take our order in a short while. 20 minutes later no sign of waitress in fact they attended another table having brought out their deserts and then returning with their cutlery and turned around and went back inside.Decided to leave and went to return the menu inside another waitress appeared where I said that we are leaving as we had waited in total for 40mins and no member of staff came to our table to take our orders.More people arrived after we had and got severed before we did.Very bad customer service.

We came on a Friday night to trial the Tapas dishes after hearing great things, and it did not disappoint! There was a large variety of dishes and the chef was so helpful in highlighting what was, or could be made gluten free! The dishes we chose were so tasty and filling, including salt and pepper squid, prawns, Spanish omelet and potatas bravas. Would strongly recommend!

The staff are friendly but not over bearing, the food is excellent and well filling. To sit in a light atmosphere, watching the boats going up the river. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just tea & cake

Visited the Boathouse Restaurant for the first time, but not the last time on Friday night with family. This was chosen by Trip Advisor reviews and also something different. I have never had Tapas in any other place other than Spain. We didn’t know how hat to expert, apart from the reviews, so the expectations where high and they didn’t disappoint. The waitress suggested three selections of tapas each. This was about right. All very delicious and served hot. My favourite was the squid and whitebait. The manger and all the staff where all very friendly and attentive. I would recommend this restaurant for being different and food delicious. We will be back definitely on a summers evening to sit outside and watch the sunset over the river. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.

We found The Boat House more by accident than design, when we called in at the marina for a look around one lunchtime. It was Wednesday fish and chip special and the atmosphere was fabulous. We couldn't stay, so booked a table for that evening. The fish and chips was great, lovely light batter and triple-cooked chips, followed by one of the tastiest and generous-sized creme brulees we have eaten.The place is spotless and highly Covid aware, with good table spacing and a lovely view across the marina. The owner and waiting staff were very welcoming and just the right amount of attentive. It was only when we asked for the bill that we realised it was 2 for 1, a big surprise as there was certainly no skimping on the size of the fish!All in all, a lovely little gem - we will definitely be back next time we visit the area.

I recently visited the boathouse with my mother for lunch. Staff were friendly, service was good, food was very tasty, and atmosphere was relaxed, the one thing that let it down for us was the chipped crockery. We both had our lunches served in badly chipped bowls. I would go back but here is hoping the crockery situation improves first!!

Called in on the off chance and had a superb lite bite sat outside in the sunshine.Food was freshly cooked and served by Millie a delightful young lady who gave customer service as it should, in fact all the staff were excellent.A great visit all in allThanks

Had a really good lunch here today. The Boat House is light, bright and with a beautiful view of the marina. Service was excellent, overseen by owner Julie, A burger for my husband and really tasty tuna fish cakes and salad for myself. A popular and busy restaurant both inside and on the outside deck. Very clean and Covid aware too. We enjoyed our lunch and will return.

Average food. Nothing special though. We had the full English breakfasts. Cake was dry and sickly sweet. Coffee was decent enough. Tables too close together during lockdown. Could be spaced apart more. Toilets were absolutely filthy. I was advised by the staff it’s “just staining”. Lovely. Was splashes all up doors and walls and corners not cleaned. If that badly “stained” then should be refurbished.? Certainly not been cleaned let alone Covid deep cleaned. I hope the kitchens are better. Unlikely to return.

I had heard a lot of good things before I went here and had tried a few times to go but missed their opening times for one reason or another. I ordered a full English breakfast and ordered a coffee and glass of water. Got the coffee but had to remind the waitress for the water, got the breakfast and was disappointed with it, the large mushroom was lukewarm and watery, the bacon was dried out as though it been precooked some time earlier and the scrambled egg obviously was over cooked and had caught on the surface when being cooked. I may well have been unlucky as I know this restaurant has many good reviews, it is a bright and clean establishment with pleasant staff. I write this review really for the restaurant so they know why I was disappointed and may not return, otherwise they will not be able to remedy the issues I have raised if they believe they are valid

This came up on google as having vegan options, but it had one, and although the chef tried, the chickpea curry had no curry powder in it. It was tomatoes, chilli and a sprinkling of chickpeas. £8.50. I was hungry so glad to eat diverging. My sister had chips and an off-menu smashed avocado on toast. The chips were nice. The staff weren’t really engaged, so not a great experience all in all. Shame, as it was rated highly online!

I have visited The a Boathouse many times. Julie and her team are very welcoming, the food is fab (Stuart the chef does amazing dishes). Great place to visit. Good place to start or finish a walk too 👍

We ate here yesterday 8/7/20 and the food and service were great. We didn't realise it was only fish and chips on this Wednesday, my husband's not keen on fish, only the unrecognisable type, smoked salmon, scampi, but definitely not haddock. But he decided to stay and try and HE LOVED IT. This is a serious breakthrough. Well done the Boathouse, you succeeded where I failed. Loved the homemade tartar sauce and coffee was great. All hygiene precautions were in place and tables and chairs were cleaned as people left. We'll be back xx

On Wednesday it's two for one on fish and chips. I'd expected a slightly smaller portion but instead I had the best fish and chips ever, lovely light batter and great chunky chips. Also a good sized portion.The atmosphere and service excellent as always. I will definitely be back for more fish and chips.

We had an amazing afternoon tea. This was brought as a birthday present for my mum's 60th. Myself, mum and my 2 daughters (13 & 8) enjoyed a great selection of sandwiches & cakes (with a few lovely surprises). My mum has a few dietary needs and they were able to help.Definitely recommend afternoon tea here

This lovely eaterie was recommended by one of the stewards for the Saturday morning Littlehampton Park Run that we were at. Lovely freshly made food. Great choice of breakfasts from full English to healthy and free from options. Staff really friendly, gave a very warm welcome and also dog friendly. Great! Glad we have found it as is now on our list of great places to eat. Would like to try brunch/lunch and/or tapas.

The restaurant is in the marina. It is light and airy and there is always something to watch through the window. The food is all good and the chef will cook non-dairy options is asked. There is plenty of parking and it's easy to leave your car while you walk along the river into Littlehampton.

Having had mixed reviews about the food here, we decided one lunchtime recently to try it for ourselves. Armed with a £20 gift voucher we arrived for a lunch meal having studied the menu before we arrived.The welcome was warm and the restaurant quite busy for a Tuesday, at least we thought! We ordered two mains, the pie of the day which was Steak & Ale and the Boathouse Burger.The food didn't take long at all to arrive despite there being a few tables to serve. And when it did arrive, not only did it look fantastic, it tasted really good. Nothing was left from either dish and my wife even managed to fit in a Sticky Toffee Pudding!We certainly would come and eat again, the food was very very good and the service was attentive and professional, well worth a visit if you are in the area

George Michael Tribute afternoon, he was fab. The ambience and the Food was great. The staff are really helpful , nothing is to much trouble.

We had a group of 12 booked for Friday during a Tappas evening. Last minute changes to numbers was easily and cheerily sorted. The food was superb (many of the group trying tappas for the first time). The table service was attentive without being intrusive and the music was enjoyable whilst permitting easy conversation.A great evening and we will be returning in the near future.

We had a lovely Tapas lots to chose from. We made suggestions for a dish and the manager took it on board. Will be visiting again :)

We visited on a Saturday afternoon, after a warm welcome we were quickly taken to a table and offered the menu. The monkfish scampi was really good as was the battered fish and chips.The waitress was lovely and helpful, overall a nice restaurant overlooking the marina.

Great little friendly cafe with parking right by the door. Wish the daytime menu had a sausage sarnie though, as an alternative to the tasty BLT. Still get my 5 stars though.

Took my Mum and Dad to the Boathouse Littlehampton for a belated birthday lunch. We were looked after but the food was a amazing. Would definitely go back there.

Famished, we stumbled on the cafe for a late breakfast, after leaving West Beach Cafe and asking for our money back for our order that never arrived! We ordered at 10.50,(they stop breakfast at 11), and ordered the full English. It took a while to arrive, we were just going to enquire when our food turned up. Looked fabulous and largely it was except the bacon was dry and the portobello mushroom was really tough. Such a shame as the service, (aside from the small wait), was exemplary. Very friendly and attentive staff, and they allow dogs on the terrace. Looks like there’s a lot going on in the evenings too, with flyers dotted around for upcoming events. Will definitely try again and let’s hope next time I can give it 5*. Shame, as the food just let the service down, which was great

We took a family visit to the Boathouse for a birthday meal. It was a Tapas night and we sat out on the terrace to enjoy the Mediterranean evening. It’s fair to say we had about 3/4s of the menu between us and really enjoyed the food.

My 'monkfish scampi' consisted of 5 bitesize chunks of breaded fish which was overcooked, dry and rubbery as well as being almost completely tasteless with some chips and a few bits of limp leafy green vegetable.

Wonderful day, lovely setting , food marvellous. Nothing was too much trouble, thank you to you all for making it a very special day for my daughter . There was 42 of us but it was a walk in the park for these lovely people, thank you so much all of you, we will be back (if you’ll have us)

We have been here a few times over the years, Food always good, staff friendly and helpful. Not an easy place to find but well worth it when you get there. The ambiance is 'sea side ', decor blues and whites. I have had the best fish and chips in this restaurant. This week I had sea bream which was delicious and my husband had kedgeree, also delicious. Extensive range of beers and wines. The view is looking over the River Arun plus some boats.

Found this little Gem by accident! Only had a coffee, but staff were pleased to serve us and made us feel most welcome. We will be back for lunch some time soon!

We were part of a group of 15 who booked especially as one of our party were playing in the band booked to play. It was a great vibe; staff were friendly and welcoming, food was good, the band was excellent and the vibe overall was brilliant! It was great fun on a sunny chilled weekend afternoon- thank you Boat House!!

My Son held his 21st birthday party at the boathouse in the marina, Littlehampton on Saturday 20th of July. What a fantastic venue, we all had a fabulous night, the best food, music and staff that you could wish for. I would highly recommend Julie and her team as they certainly do a brilliant job, it’s 10 out of 10. Thanks for making my Sons birthday unforgettable xxx

I visit The Boathouse in the Marina regularly and thought it was high time I wrote a review. Julie and her team are really friendly and welcoming and the breakfast is always great - with locally sourced ingredients and served with a smile. I have also been down for fish and chips which were delicious - the fish was locally caught and so fresh. My next visit is for Tapas on a Friday night. Well done to the whole team!

I have regularly visited the Boathouse in the Marina over the past 6 months and have always felt welcomed! The location is superb whether a rainy day or enjoying a sunset, the staff are amazingly friendly and the food and drink is some of the best in the local area. I would always recommend a visit!

I had a meeting this morning and we chose to go to our favourite place. As ever, service was amazing. Cake was fabulous. I think cake for breakfast might be a thing.

Booked tickets for a birthday meal at the Boathouse for the tribute Grease v Dirty Dancing wondering how this would work on a Sunday afternoon and it was brilliant. The food was excellent (amazing fresh salads), the staff were absolutely delightful - joining in with the dancing (!) and the singers, Mark and Charrise were brilliant and very engaging with the crowd. Great afternoon and will be back for tapas, breakfast and tribute afternoon.

Excellent menu. Great Staff. Extensive tapas menu Sunday afternoons 3pm top class entertainers. Situated in the marina so lots of people watching too. We will definitely return.

Visited a couple of weeks ago on a Friday for tapas night. Every single dish was delicious, fresh and hot. A special mention for the staff. The owner was, as usual, friendly and efficient and the young lady who served us was superb. Really an asset to the restaurant.

We have visited the boathouse many times and on every occasion both the service and food was exemplary, we are looking forward to our next visit in 2 weeks , can’t wait to sample the new menu.

Stumbled across this place a while back after finding out it had been taken over by new management and having visited here as a child, I have been a regular here ever since (more than a year now for me) however the other week was the first time I had attended a private function held by Julie and her wonderful staff. We were greeted warmly by everyone and so was everyone else I was with (as they made a point of pointing it out!!) Amazing food and a wide selection of drinks, not to mention, stunning location. A MUST VISIT if in the area.

I have been to The Boathouse in the Marina on several occasions and always been very impressed with everything. My latest visit was no exception. Fantastic new menu cooked to perfection provided with a first class service.

Lovely location and venue, however I was at this 16th birthday party from 730 till 930 unless things kicked off before or after this time the kids were well behaved I didn't see or hear any swearing or fighting from any of them,as for the alcohol issues yes it seemed some did bring alcohol but as soon as this was known the father did announce over the microphone it would be confiscated.

I attended a birthday party here and it is a shame to say that such a lovely venue has been let down so heavily by the management.

I recently had a party for my 16 year old daughter and I have to say that there was no fighting or sitting on tables and as for the under age drinking I made an announcement on the the microphone that I want any alcohol handed in and if I found any one with any then they would be asked to leave . The food was non existent most people thought they had missed the buffet and what was there was made with stale bread I paid a lot of money for this and feel that I was robbed ,as for the smoking it was me and at my age I know I should now better I can honestly say it's the worst place I have been to and would never recommend this place to anyone unless you want to be disappointed

Lovely venue, shame about the owner. Disgusted at how unprofessional she is, to sit there and make a nasty Facebook status about a party in which I attended whilst we were still there! The food was sparse and what food there was was very unappetising. Wouldn’t recommend for any function unless you want judgemental stares from staff the whole night.

A bit off the beaten track, but well worth visiting. Friendly welcome by Julie and her staff, and as for the food, well Stuart the Chef must be one of the best in the area, the menu is very varied an d caters for every taste, he leans slightly towards the Spanish influence with a few of his own speciallities. one to be recommended is his Kedgeree which we heard customers travel many miles to sample. Once visited we're sure you will go back again.

What a beautiful treat. We were having a spa day at bailiffscourt and wanted brekkie/brunch sadly they had nothing to offer us, so we decided to find somewhere near .

Dropped in over the scorching Easter weekend- we were quickly asked if we were having drinks or food then shown out onto the decking area on the hot sunshine. There are lovely views over the river and plenty of birds to see!

My wife and i decided to pop in to the boat house after a beach walk, on arrival we were greeted by the owner Julie, who showed us to a window table, on which we sat and enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee, and a slice of chocolate Easter cake, my wife had a toasted tea cake, which she said was delicious. To our surprise this venue offers a variety of options including live music and family functions.

I just love this restaurant, nothing is too much trouble, the food is excellent quality and superbly cooked. Totally recommend the full breakfast.

We had seen this place advertised and had a walk by previously, looked down to earth, cafe/restaurant, plenty of notices to come in and enjoy a drink etc so when we saw there was a band to be playing on a sunday afternoon we thought it a perfect time to go along.

I have visited the Boathouse quite a few times now for various occasions, recently for a friends wedding reception which was fantastic and everyone had a great time. The menu choices are great something for everyone and regularly changes. My son brought me for a Mothers day breakfast which was presented so lovely. The owner Julie and her team are so friendly and always make me and my family and friends feel welcome and looked after and they seem to have a good family vibe going on. I have been recently coming to the Sunday live music afternoons there is always a great atmosphere and is always full with everyone having a good old dance. Looking forward to some of the events you have coming up especially pamper evening and the Tina Turner tribute. Keep up the good work guys and look forward to the next visit when we try the yummy tapas!!

So seen as my constructive critism review was "mysteriously" wiped away from your website Julie Fear, I felt the need to tell my fellow trip advisors me and my Gf went friday the 29th we had a lovely meal...Julie the owner was very friendly to us so were the staff...I wrote an amazing review not only on her fb page but on my own as well, upon this recommendation my Gf's family decided to go for drinks and cakes they were told they would be served only to be ignored for 15 minutes while they pottered about and did other things...one member of staff was even wiping tables instead of serving...Julie herself claims they were busy tending to "customers who booked" maybe you only appriciate business if its £70 worth????Maybe you only accomidate for people you deem worthy?? Either way thats not how you run a business...everyone is equal! Yes its nice views and food there I wont deny... but they are only nice if you book and stay for long periods...so I suggest to go Arun view(across the river) where the staff are friendly to everyone.. foods good and the view is great too!

we had a lovely meal and was very well looked after, nothing was too much bother, I am coeliac also dairy problems and they made my meal very enjoyable and spot on, so I will be going back, I will be telling my family and friends to go, many thanks to everyone

Went for lunch, the sun was out making the location even better. Great place inside and the staff are friendly. I had the burger, and it was fantastic. Homemade, packed with flavour, chips were great as well! Steak and ale pie was also a highlight as well! Everything was great start to finish..go there, best food we have had in the local area!

Good service, very welcoming nice breakfast, full English average compared with other restaurants. Good hot coffee, would go back.

Been to the Boat House many times, the food is always fantastic, freshly cooked and delicious. Last Friday we tried the Tapas menu. So glad we did! Each dish was excellent, there were four of us and each us loved every dish we tried. Really worth a visit. Would thoroughly recommend

The staff are attentive and welcoming, the food freshly cooked, breakfasts are plentiful and delicious, family (including the dog) are welcome, a great place to meet or take a friend for coffee, cake (including g f/ nut / and dairy free) highly recommended, a great place with friendly, helpful staff.

We attended a family party held at this place... The staff there ...every one.. bent over backwards to make the evening go well.. the chef rustled up a great buffet as per the spec of the evening. The bar ran smoothly...and everyone concurred it was a great night... The lovely manager even had time to make my partner a decaffeinated coffee and two teas for some senior guests. And these were served like a proper coffee (ground and barista'd).. tea in pots.. and a side cookie.

We visited on a Saturday lunchtime in February after a lovely riverside walk with our cocker spaniel. We had been meaning to visit for nearly a year and are so glad we finally made it. The food was beautifully presented and truly delicious. There was a little wait for the food but this is not meant as a criticism - food of this standard is worth a small wait. The waitress was very friendly and dogs are made welcome. The Boathouse offers evening events and live music on a Sunday. We can't wait to go back and try their tapas one Friday or Saturday night soon. Highly recommended from our first visit.

Haven’t written a review for a while but once again a tapas meal at The Boathouse in the Marina has inspired me. And it wasn’t just the meal - which was faultless - the atmosphere is happy and relaxed and the service is friendly but still professional. We were there as a family (with adult children) but there were couples and also a lone diner that evening, and Julie, the owner, gave equal attention to us all. Back to the food - seriously, everything we ate was, “Oh my goodness, this is amazing!” The chef there definitely knows what he’s doing. My favourite was the haggis dish. Not sure if that will always be on the menu as it was Burns Night - but everything was so good it wouldn’t matter. If you haven’t tried the food there yet, you really really really should.

The Boathouse is a real gem of a place. The staff are so friendly, the food is delicious and so well priced. All of the ingredients are fresh and high quality. Our fish & chips were sublime with the most wonderful chips, mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce. The fish was moist and the batter divine. Wheelchair friendly with an accessible toilet, ramp and parking. An absolute delight.

visited for the first time yesterday with friends yesterday. The fish was fresh and batter cooked to perfection. Beautiful surroundings overlooking the Marina and countryside. Tranquil setting was an asset to an enjoyable lunch.

The food is beautifully presented. The stall friendly attentive and efficient. We enjoyed the brunch all of us will return.

We went for a Christmas meal. I can’t fault the food or service at all. So friendly and helpful. We’ll be returning.

Owned by a friendly bunch of people. Had our works doo. Third time I've been here but first-time to eat. I'm also glad to say they've done away with the portaloo.

I went to this restaurant recommended by a friend a couple of Sundays ago for the Neil Diamond tribute afternoon. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing and the staff were amazing. The waitress catered to our every need, with a smile on her face the whole time and she even got everyone up dancing. I will definitely be returning for the tasty and generously portioned food and the lovely service.

I have lived in Littlehampton for 4 years now, but due to work commitments I have not had time to explore. I picked up a local booklet "Littlehampton times", at the local hairdressers and on the back was advertised "The Boat House In the Marina" I took this home and showed my Hubby. We decided to book for Tapas for last Friday. We arrived and was welcomed with open arms and a friendly smile by Tiffany with in a few minutes we had established that we had mutual friends (even better). The chef Stuart is a Brighton fan, so lost my hubby to football talk.

We had Sunday lunch and afternoon live entertainment with friends. Terrific atmosphere with excellent staff and service while watching tribute act. Everybody seemed to enjoy the food/drink/entertainment on a dull Sunday afternoon.

Spent a wonderful evening with two friends at The Boathouse for their Friday Tapas evening. The food was great and a good variety and the atmosphere was friendly and the room beautifully decorated. All in all v good
