Absolutely great food, beautifully presented, the child meals are great all good proper food rather than the usual cheap rubbish served on children's menus. The staff were great and made some excellent recommendations for us. We will be back.

My partner and I had dinner here over the May bank holiday, it was our first time visiting. The restaurant itself is lovely, light and airy with beautiful views over the adjacent vineyard. Very attentive and friendly service from Marta. We shared a few plates between us, everything was tasty, and there was a reasonable vegetarian selection. I thought overall the menu was quite pricey, and portions on the small side (even for tapas/light bites).

I went to the Boat House the other week and I ordered the kedgeree. It was £15.95 which is a lot for what you get. The rice was hard and the fish obviosuly wasn’t fresh. I am extremely disappointed with the food as it used to be such good quality. I think the prices are very expensive and not worth the food quality, making me not want to come back again. I also met the owner and when I spoke to her she seemed very unwelcoming and rude. I also heard another conversation between her and another member of staff slagging off one of the other customer or staff I cannot be certain as to which one it was. As a customer having only been a few a time, this really came as a suprise to me to see no professionalism whatsoever. I am very upset and again disappointed with my experience. All around it just wasn’t an enjoyable place to be. This is such a shame as to what use to be a nice place for food can be so toxic and shocking.

Service was appalling, with nobody in charge and long waits to be shown to tables and for service. The meat dishes were very good, but the vegetarian options were dreadful and very expensive. One half of an aubergine with very little garnish was not a balanced meal for a 30 year old. Very disappointing. The other vegetarian dish, gnocchi, was luke warm and did not have enough sauce. Again it needed more vegetables or ingredients to make a balanced meal. It was by far the most expensive meal that we ate during our stay in Brockenhurst, but the poorest experience. We left hungry and went elsewhere for dessert, as the service was so poor.

We went with our family to celebrate my wife's birthday and had a great time. It was an experience as you approach via a lift to this very well appointed, spacious dining room with panoramic sea views. Service was very good and the food excellent. Well worth a visit if looking for something special

The cafe has a terrific position just under the old walls with a handy carpark on the doorstep and marvellous views over Tweed estuary, the sea and the famous three bridges that span the mouth of the river at this historic spot. We opted for the fresh crab open sandwich (£13.90) which was very generous with delicious sweet white and dark fresh crabmeat, plenty of interesting salad and good bread. As it was a sunny day all the outside tables were already taken but we were comfortable inside. A very tempting display of cakes and desserts also beckoned, so we indulged in the triple cream layered Victoria sandwich. Good coffee, interesting tea selection, pleasant table service. A great discovery, we will definitely return.

Table of six...the service was outstanding. Food was perfection. Was so nice to be served hot food and all at the same time. Puddings were beautiful and did not disappoint. Overall a lovely evening and would highly recommend. Well done to all staff, especially the chef!
