My partner and I had dinner here over the May bank holiday, it was our first time visiting. The restaurant itself is lovely, light and airy with beautiful views over the adjacent vineyard. Very attentive and friendly service from Marta. We shared a few plates between us, everything was tasty, and there was a reasonable vegetarian selection. I thought overall the menu was quite pricey, and portions on the small side (even for tapas/light bites).

Stayed in one of the beautiful lodges amongst the vines. It was wonderful to wake up on a crisp and sunny morning in such lovely accommodation. The summers here must be amazing. We ate in the restaurant on a Saturday evening and is very tastefully decorated, service is friendly and attentive. The food is superb, very imaginative tapas style dishes, my particular favourites were the orzo with roasted salmon and the figs with Stilton. We walked through the vines to breakfast which was lovely. The breakfast was fantastic, one of the best we’ve ever had. Smoked salmon was amazing, never tasted salmon like it. All in all, a beautiful place in a fantastic location, friendly staff, great food and excellent wines. Can’t wait to go back

Our first visit and what a lovely idea to have menu solely compromising of tapas style sharing dishes. Very friendly welcome and a great table location in the very spacious restaurant. The menu choices are quite extensive - try the charcuterie platter with the breads - all very good and then we had a couple of dishes from the sharing menu with the posh fries! Very attentive service without being overbearing or rushed. The wine list, of course, has all of their own wines but also some guest ones too, all sensibly priced.

This was a meal to celebrate two birthdays and what a celebration we had! This was fine dining tapas style which was informal but in very exquisite surroundings. The view of the vineyards was beautiful. The tapas menu was far reaching and exceeded our expectations regarding quality, quantity and taste. We all enjoyed ourselves very much indeed and loved this new tapas idea. The wine was superb and being allowed to try the wines first was a bonus. An excellent venue with very happy customers.

Very good and broad range of tapas. Very well cooked and nicely presented. We had this with the wine tasting which is served at the table. A brief description of each wine is given ( thankfully not too much ) and then you are left to enjoy your tapas and wine at your leisure. A pleasant dinning room and nice service. Good value and good quality.

Went with several other couples to celebrate a birthday as soon as we could book tables (and rooms in the hotel) after the end of lockdown rules. Restaurant has changed to a tapas menu post lockdown, and none the worse for that, great variety, beautifully prepared and presented, lovingly served. We had early evening slots for service which allows more time to savour the food, (and wine of course) perhaps a good idea to order slowly and not get all dishes at once so that you can create a good atmosphere. Sharing platters offer fantastic choice and value. We were well looked after by the excellent service team.

We had lovely tour of vineyard and decided to stay there for lunch.... what a mistake... we wanted to stay as it looked really nice and we were treating ourselves to something special.... we were sat away from everyone so basically out of sight of anyone serving...it was exactly like the saying: “out of sight out of mind”.... no one cared if we still had water, no one asked how were we getting on with food, definitely no interest if everything was ok with food.... I had to stand up from table to go and give them empty bottle to get more water. They brought us empty ketchup and my husband had to again stand up and go to staff just to come back with another empty bottle :/. We spend just under 100 pound on lunch for two which let us feel Like we wasted our money and time. We had chateaubriand for two as main which was ok,but nothing special, presentation pretty poor....starter was ok but again for a cold sharing platter I think they forgot about us as it took ages. We opted out of dessert as we were worried how long it will take to even order as no one cared and by that point we just wanted to leave as we had enough. Would I eat there again? Probably not, unless other parties involved insisted....

We had not been to Three Choirs for some time, we had always treated it as 'birthdays and anniversaries' only as it was not cheap, but worth it.Thankfully last night was not a special occasion as it was very disappointing. It would seem that the management has changed as it is now 'Vineyard Brasserie' and we did not recognise any of the staff.L had duck for a starter, followed by sea bass; both were unremarkable.I had smoked haddock gratin, which was mostly mashed potato, but pleasant enough. The pork loin main course, however, was dry, chewy and almost tasteless. We did not bother with pudding or cheese. The wines, naturally, were excellent and the venue of course is still superb. We had always recommended Three Choirs Restaurant to our friends, we shall not be doing the same for Vineyard Brasserie.

The service was a little 'quirky' and a touch more professionalism wouldn't go amiss, but I'm not going to mark them down for that. The food is of a very high standard and is beautifully presented. We obviously tried the wines from the Three Choirs Vineyard and thought they were excellent - the sparkling, the dry 'sauvignon' and the "off-dry" Willow Brook. Hopefully the owners will by now have amended the notes in the menu relating to the Willow Brook... it's an excellent wine and deserves a more accurate description. The restaurant has a lovely outlook (over the vineyards) and has a nice ambience overall. My wife and I planned a visit to buy some Three Choirs wine and booked for lunch at the same time. We sat down at about 12.45 and having ordered a glass of wine each waited for some 30 minutes before our starters arrived. We then waited another 30 minutes for our main courses, during which time we contemplated leaving and paying just for the wine and starters (there is a garden centre with a good café just down the road). My main course was particularly disappointing with two pieces of tough chicken breast and not much else. The restaurant was quite busy but there were vacant tables. We left just after 2 o'clock and when paying complained about the excessive waiting times, which fell on deaf ears.We live quite close by and have had really good meals in the past, but not this time. There are several excellent and far cheaper places to eat in the Gloucester/Cheltenham area, so we shall not be returning.to Three Choirs. A great pity.

My 65th birthday treat was dinner at the Three Choirs Restaurant with my wife and close friend. Previous visits for lunch and dinner have been a nice experience, but this time it was not good. Service was unprofessional and slow. I requested a medium fillet which was rare and cold, I told the waiter but nothing happened, my wife and friends main courses were also cold. We sat down to eat at 1915 hrs the starters were a bit slow but the restaurant was busy however we did not get our main course until well after 2030hrs and they were cold. We would have liked a sweet and coffee but the night had been spoilt by poor service so we decided to leave. The last time we visited we had nice canapes and a selection of breads but not this time. When I was paying I complained to the manager who listened but left me with no hope for the future. She did admit that the waiting staff lacked experience which is an understatement considering how ill informed they were and clearly not properly trained in basic waiting skills and interacting with customers. Overall a very bad experience, we will not be visiting again, it's a shame because we live nearby.

We have visited this restaurant a number of times over the years often with friends and previously it has never let us down. In the Summer the ambience of the restaurant has always been enhanced by the wonderful views of the vineyard. On this occasion however, the mood was overshadowed by inattentive and abrupt service and rather average food. Even more disappointing was that having waited for half an hour after our main course was cleared away, we were not offered a dessert menu even though the waiting staff seemed to have little more to do than make up tables for the following day. When we asked for the bill, we expressed our dissatisfaction and although we received an apology of sorts, there was no attempt on behalf of the restaurant to redeem the situation. In fact we'd go as far as to say that are complaint was greeted with total indifference. We would have expected far better service from a restaurant of this calibre.

We were given the lunch and tour as a birthday present for my husband. We booked a Nearby B & B so we did not have to drive. The weather on Friday was terrible, but we did not let this spoil the day and dressed accordingly. I did feel a little casual in the wonderful restaurant, but that was down to how I would have liked to dress rather than dressing for the weather. We were early, but warmly welcomed and enjoyed our first glass of wine whilst sitting on a comfy sink in leather sofa. We were shown to a table with wonderful views of lavendar and vineyards with a White House on top of the hill. It felt as though we had crossed the Channel rather than still being in Gloucestershire. We had thought we would have struggled to take two hours for lunch but it was so relaxing time flew by and we met those who like us were booked onto the tour. The lady who conducted it was really knowledgable and answered every question. Part of the tour was outside, but we all had umbrellas and the rest was inside. During the tour we were given a sample of four wines to try, all lovely. At the end of the tour you could wander off on your own and walk around the vines. We did this with brollies up on the way out bought a bottle of wine.

We dropped in here on a cold wet day in May while travelling between Cirencester and Wales. We had a wine tasting first followed by lunch. The wines were very nice especially the sparking. If we could buy the sparkling here in Australia I would. We then had pre-lunch drinks in the lounge area followed by a lovely lunch in the restaurant. The restaurant staff were excellent and the food was great. We sat at a table by the windows looking out over the vineyard. I would definitely go back again for a meal if we are in the area.

Although we only paid a brief visit to buy wine we were greeted warmly and given some background to the wines and brandy (yes they sell their own!!) we bought. Like the setting will return probably to do the tour and eat there.

I reviewed this restaurant on 4 July 2013. By sheer coincidence we ate there again two years further on to the day and it's worth updating the previous review. The service, location and quality of the overall offering remain first rate. What has changed - perhaps the influence of a new chef? - is a discreet Eastern feel to the menu. So, for example, my starter of charred wood pigeon breast was accompanied by pickled mushrooms and kimchi carrot - in both cases the not-overdone flavourings both complemented the meat splendidly. All of us opted for the breast of duck main course. This was accompanied by dauphinois potatoes and, picking up the Eastern theme again, Middle Eastern grains with pomegranate seeds. This went very well indeed with the duck, which was cooked to perfection, the meat pink and juicy. The menus still features prominently ingredients which are locally-sourced, which is great to see. On a lovely sunny July evening the view out across the vineyard provided the perfect setting and a bottle of the vineyard's 2013 Bacchus was a refreshing accompaniment to the delicious food.

I have been lucky enough to visit The Three Choirs Vineyard restaurant countless times during the past few years. It is quite simply a beautiful, stunning setting, not far from the town of Newent. The restaurant and seating outside overlooks the beautiful, rolling, south facing vineyard. The views are magnificent. Be warned, it can be very hot in when the temperatures get into the mid twenties. It is a suntrap! My family and i visited because it was Nan's 97th Birthday and it was also mom Mom's birthday too. Now let me first of all say that The Three Choirs Vineyard restaurant has gradually progressed the past few towards becoming a high end eatery. The lunchtime menu was a la carte, though there was also a few specials offered as well. I had the goats cheese to start, which was beautifully presented and it tasted as good as it looked. I loved the contrast between the piquancy of the three way goats cheese and the sweetness of the raisins. For my main course i had rump of lamb with and assortment of vegetables and bacon lardons. It was tasty, tender and the meat was medium as i had asked. The vegetables were also perfectly cooked. I had the warm carrot cake for dessert, which with the benefit of hindsight was a mistake on a very warm day. Nonetheless, it will still very nice. The chocolate delice with peanut butter sorbet looked very good. I must admit i tried some of the peanut butter sorbet and it was stunning. The service was good, though the restaurant was very quiet because it was a Monday. The tables are nicely presented and there is plenty of space between them. My only criticism of The Three Choirs Vineyard is price. I am not sure £21.00 for lamb rump is justifiable. Whilst it was good, it wasn't that amazing. I have eaten in Michelin star restaurants for less. The starters are also pricey and £8.50 for the goats cheese could also be seen as a little steep. I don't quite know what The Three Choirs Vineyard restaurant is trying to be. It is clearly isn't a gastropub or a Michelin star restaurant. So, it flits somewhere between the two. To me, the lamb rump was no more than a £16.00 dish, which is what you would expect to pay in a very good gastropub. What i think you are paying for is the view. It is stunning, i must admit. What does also make me laugh is the house wine, which is grown on the vineyard and it was £16.00 a bottle. I know last year, when one of the party had the house wine, the disparity in price between what it sold for in the restaurant and in their own shop, which we visited afterwards was something like £8.00 last year. It was exactly the same wine! To me, that can't be justified. However, despite these little niggles, it wouldn't stop me from taking my family and friends to The Three Choirs Vineyard restaurant again. Indeed, i will certainly be visiting soon and have recommended it to my colleagues at work.

The whole experience was superb from a delicious lunch a well informed tour of the vineyard and wine-tasting. The bonus was that I was invited too!! I would thoroughly recommend a trip here and even more it's a great idea for a present. We have also been for Sunday lunch and are taking friends for a surprise birthday treat this weekend. Came here for lunch on Saturday with a friend. The setting is beautiful and we enjoyed tasting some of the wines in the shop even purchasing a bottle of Rose` to take home.Service was good although the food itself is very pricey. That said the unique surroundings and style of food probably warrant the price tag. Would recommend a visit.

I was given a tour of the vineyard and wine-tasting voucher as a birthday present, so we decided to enjoy lunch there as well. We even booked a little lodge down the road for the night, so we could enjoy a bottle of wine with lunch, as well as the wine tasting. This proved to be an excellent idea as the tasting consisted of sampling 4 glasses of wine, so it was a good thing we weren't driving afterwards! The lunch was superb and the service excellent. We were also impressed with the wine, and went back the next day with the car to buy a few bottles from the shop. Would definitely go again.

Being relatively new to the area and really enjoying Three Choirs wine we decided to try the restaurant for a special anniversary meal following the good reviews on Trip Advisor. We have eaten in many places over the years and perhaps our expectations are higher than other reviewers or this was a poor night, but after the meal on the way home we both decided broke the silence to admit we didn't think it was very good.In summary the location is good, the wine and coffee were good, but all courses of the meal were essentially tasteless and the service indifferent. Not sure if the chef forgot to season the dishes or if there were other issues as the food quality appeared good, but it didn't come though to the palate.

We have been going here for over ten years for Birthdays and special occasions. Tonight was not good. Normally we are offered a varied choice of breads but tonight just one and as soon as we'd eaten it the side plates were cleared. You used to get asked if you wanted another piece. My partners lamb was so tough and fatty that she could not eat it and was way off the excellent standard we have experienced in the past. When we mentioned it, a replacement was offered immediately but this would have meant us eating separately. We were due to book for my usual July birthday but we are so disappointed we will not this year. We suspect the chef has changed and this was sort of confirmed. My partners main course was removed from the final bill but this does not alter the fact that something we were so looking forward to was not like our many previous visits.

Family member has a vine at the three choirs and has been for the wine tours and also to stay in overnight ,they have always enjoyed the food and the wine. Our lunch was lovely, nice I'd ess s to have selection of sharing platters. Selection of veggie food was different and enjoyed the corvette and brie soup. Desserts were very good especially the rhubarb parfait and chocolate cup. Selection of wines available to purchase in the shop but able to taste before buying. Lovely outlook from the restaurant across the vineyard.

The girl who did the tour was very good and the tour was interesting, but English wine remains a novelty and is not meant to be drunk. Go to the falconry centre!

I initially adopted a vine for my husband in 2008 and we have been making an annual trip ever since. This time we came just for lunch. We had a window table positioned such that we had a good view over the vineyard. We had a set lunch which had a reasonable choice. The soup was rather good as was the rare beef with blue cheese starter. I chose the fish platter which was excellent for my main 0be hungry! The prawns were lovely and not overcooked; the salmon and crab were plentiful and of good quality. The lamb enjoyed by my husband was tender and full of flavour. We enjoyed our sparkling wine; this competes well with more famous and expensive champagnes.Service is friendly and certainly not pretentious. I consider the set lunch to be of reasonable value.

Dinner was very good, I had courgette risotto, sea bass and rhubarb parfait, but we felt each dish was over-priced by about a £1. Decor in the restaurant is OK without having a 'wow' factor.

My wife and I dropped by on the off chance of having an early (about 12.30) lunch. After hanging around the reception area for a while a member of staff appeared having been dealing with a table of about four in the restaurant. Another couple was perusing menus. I explained that we would like lunch and hadn't booked, to be floored by, "I'm very busy, can you come back in a few minutes?" Needless to say we didn't but instead went to the Kilcot Inn where we were welcomed and fed well. Can't comment on the food, cleanliness or value so given average rating.

We've been to this venue before and enjoyed our visits and the food in the restaurant. On our latest trip, we tried the Christmas menu. This was excellent - tasty, quality, well cooked and good value. We were very well fed. Service was excellent. We love the practice of placing out a bottle or two of the vineyard's own wine for you to sample in the reception area. It's a great way of deciding what to have with your meal! We find the venue very comfortable and relaxed with fantastic outlook onto the actual vineyard. Parking is no problem. Highly recommended.

We attended an 80th birthday party on 6th December, the welcome and venue were superb, matched by some excellent wines from the vineyard, I had a salmon roulade, to start which was light and just excellent, some lace with so much dill it over powers the core flavours, this hit the spot, followed by a very well cooked sea bass, perfectly cooked vegetables, and to finish with a lovely plate of British cheese, the cheeses were good, and serve d at the correct temperature, the beef blade main, also seem to go down very well, washed down with a good choice of wines,we will defintely be going again and will stay in one of the lodges, that looked great, service was very attentive, and unobtrusive which was a credit.

We visited this restaurant with thirteen friends last week for Sunday lunch. I had pre ordered everyone's order to save time and I must say that everything was perfect. The food and service was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble for any of the young staff. Its not the first time we have been there and it certainly won't be the last.

We attended for dinner on a Saturday night for a friend's birthday. The service was friendly and attentive, the tables were wide and spacious. There was a varied menu and it appeared to be all local and fresh food offered. The food itself was wonderful: very tasty, fresh, plentiful portion sizes and very well presented. The wine was from the vineyard and was a perfect match to our chosen food. Lovely relaxed surroundings too. We will definitely be returning.

Much too salty. Salty bread, salty beans, salty crust on chicken pie. Hake on a sea of red mush unappealing. Pie a bit too dry. No sign of a Manager. Not impressed and will not return. At least the prices were not outrageous but standard of cooking below par. Good beer.

The dinner was one of the most inventive, delicious meals we have ever eaten. Faultless, understated and fantastic. Service was unobtrusive and efficient with a very simple, good wine list
