Friendly service, excellent coffee and a delicious lunch. The setting is lovely! The room at the back is airy and light. We had a snack lunch which was so good I’d eaten it before I remembered to take pictures. A good range of choices on the menu and the cakes look amazing. Altogether a great experience.

We have been excited to try the vegan afternoon tea. The teas and elderflower spritz were lovely. The cakes were alright. Cheese cake was soggy. Foamy cream on the cakes. We weren't too keen on the sandwich layer. Beetroot sandwich was not for me. The cold cauliflower in a pot was watery. The bread on the other sandwich was dry, or maybe it was the type of bread. The chocolate dipped strawberries were tasty. Chef came out to ask if it was okay, but we felt awkward to say otherwise. I wouldn't say £27 each was worth it.

Lovely little accidental find, nice lunch range and the cakes look amazing. Due to time constraints couldn’t take advantage of the cakes.

Good to find a nice traditional independent place providing good tea and cakes in central Liverpool.Very nice atmosphere in an old building,probably of Georgian age.We sat in the seats by the window so we could watch the passers-by.Tea was served in a pot as I prefer:though I must say that I would choose my English Breakfast Tea a bit stronger.The Cherry Bakewell was good,and we got a very generous helping of jam with our Sourdough Toast.We did wait some time for our toast to arrive,which i will put down to there being only one member of staff being present(it was just after opening time on a quiet Sunday morning).

We had a lovely afternoon tea here. The food was delicious and the service was very good. The café is actually quite small compared to its old location which was much larger. It is also not very accessible as there is an extremely large step up to enter the café and the toilets are down some very narrow stairs. I know this location is more central, but to be honest, I think the old location was nicer.

Delicious breakfast in a cosy cafe. Excellent friendly service. Had the breakfast bagel, definite New York vibes. Can't speak for the scrambled egg as my girlfriend wouldn't share

Absolutely wonderful find! Had the most gorgeous breakfast bagels a (V) and a traditional one and both were so fresh and tasty. The bagels are beautiful, the nicest I have had! The service was wonderful, the 2 girls serving were so lovely and friendly, particularly Sab (I managed to get her name as no name badges) just the kind of staff you need in somewhere like this. Although we went for breakfast, it was around midday so we saw other items being brought out to tables which looked equally as wonderful as ours was so will be going back to try some other items off the menu and also to try the delicious looking cakes! I would highly recommend this place

Ordered afternoon tea to be delivered at home as part of a birthday celebration. Got to say it surpassed my expectations. Great food, all delicious and generous portions. Would definitely recommend!

Ordered afternoon tea for delivery on wife’s recent bday. Over the lockdown we’ve had a few and this was by far the best. Sandwiches great, mini brioche buns a welcome distraction. The selection of mini cakes was excellent and the mini Eton Mess just topped the lot.Order process was smooth, delivery within time stated. All well boxed and presented.Thank you, worth every Penny.

Had a surprise delivery of the ‘New York Inspired Afternoon Tea’ from my son during lockdown and what a lovely surprise it was. It arrived beautifully boxed and looking absolutely delicious. The variety of sandwiches and cakes inside didn’t disappoint we didnt know what to eat first. Sandwiches were lovely and fresh and well filled and the cakes were to die for (Hard to decide which was my favourite) the loose leaf tea was lovely too to wash it all down with.I have recommended to friends and will be ordering as a gift for family in the near futureI haven’t visited Cuthberts before but I will definitely be visiting the bakehouse as soon as the business is open again once lockdown is lifted.Thank you Cuthberts for a delicious afternoon tea

My twin brother Stephen and I were wandering around the Knowledge Quarter of Liverpool and decided to drop into Cuthbert's Bakehouse and what a great time we had. Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, a beautiful interior, cosy sums it up best,exposed brickwork, wood panelled walls, lovely decor and furnishings including plenty of seating options spread throughout this cafe bar both inside and outside in their courtyard, a wonderful place to unwind in. We were here on a Friday early afternoon, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff and after giving our details of name and phone number to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitising our hands we were allocated a table were we ordered a cola each, we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great cafe bar we were in. This is a really great place to visit, lovely staff, great venue and a totally relaxed vibe ,what more could you ask for. We really enjoyed our cola's in here,only stayed for the one each before moving on and for a first time visit we were totally impressed with Cuthbert's Bakehouse. Cuthbert's Bakehouse is easy to locate along Mount Pleasant. Opening hours are;Monday to Saturday, Open from 10am. Sunday, Open from 11am. A wonderful cafe bar,most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Cuthbert's Bakehouse is a superb tea-shop on Mount Pleasant that offer a great range of cakes and pastries and sandwiches and light lunches and an excellent range of hot and cold beverages.Cuthbert's Bakehouse is located on Mount Pleasant in a superb building with massive windows and a black facade.The interior is very inviting and split into two areas'as you enter this tea-shop the interior has a really traditional old world tea-shop look and feel with excellent seating options.As you walk further back into Cuthbert's Bakehouse the interior to this area has a bare brick walled interior with huge bay windows and lots of good seating options and a superb outside seating area.We visited here while walking down Mount Pleasant and as we haven't been here for a while we decided to go in here.After giving our track and trace details we were shown to a table in the rear of the tea-shop where we ordered a few bottles of diet Coca Cola with ice which where very refreshing.Cuthbert's Bakehouse is a superb tea-shop with a fantastic food and drinks menu with very friendly staff and is a place I would go to again when in this area of Liverpool city centre.Cuthbert's Bakehouse is easy to get to from Rodney street bus stop its over the road.(This is my first review of Cuthbert's Bakehouse).Opening Hours. Had the most amazing afternoon tea at Cuthbert’s Bakehouse. The welcome and service was incredible. We ordered 2 adult and 2 children’s afternoon tea, the children were so excited to have a little burger and chips on there’s! All of the afternoon tea was gorgeous. We were able to bring some home and are still eating it two days later! Would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back

Visitamos este restaurante para celebrar el Día del Padre en 2019 con mi esposo y mi hija, tuvimos un té de la tarde increíble allí, ¡el mejor que hemos tenido! Los bocadillos tienen una gran selección de rellenos, pan fresco y delicioso. Nos encanta la bonita vajilla de porcelana, mucho mejor que un hotel al que fuimos a tomar el té de la tarde, platos blancos sencillos, tazas, ¡muy ordinario! ¡Recientemente celebré mi 80 cumpleaños en casa! ¡Mi familia en Singapur organizó un té de la tarde que se llevó a Cuthbert's siguiendo el consejo de mi hija! Llegamos a nuestra hora reservada y el lugar estaba lleno y nos llevaron a nuestra mesa, un poco apretujados, pero lugares como este generalmente están especialmente cuando hay mucha gente. Nos había reservado para el té de la tarde neoyorquino que tenía mini hamburguesas, mini perritos calientes como un toque, eran encantadores, también incluía papas fritas y un sándwich Reuben. Los pasteles incluían deliciosos pasteles de queso de Nueva York, pasteles de terciopelo rojo, brownies (creo), fresas con chocolate y cannolis que eran extremadamente dulces.No tengo el diente más dulce, pero mi compañero sí, e incluso él dijo que era muy dulce. Tuve la maravillosa sorpresa de un té de la tarde de Cuthberts que me trajo un gran amigo para mi cumpleaños. Me sorprendió la calidad: los sándwiches estaban muy bien rellenos y sabían con ingredientes de calidad. La variedad de dulces fue brillante: pastel, tarta, bollo, macarrones. . . todo estuvo delicioso. ¡No podía creer que incluso la fresa cubierta de chocolate estuviera perfectamente madura! ! Siempre tengo dudas acerca de pedir un pastel para la entrega en caso de que el destinatario reciba un producto seco o de mala calidad, pero ¡recomiendo al 100% un té de la tarde de Cuthberts a domicilio!

Usé el servicio de entrega de té de la tarde de Cuthbert para el cumpleaños de mi esposa durante el encierro. Excelente servicio: personal agradable, muy flexible y dispuesto a adaptarse a las preferencias de mi esposa, entrega rápida y muy buena calidad por el precio que cobran. Cada persona recibe su propia caja con una buena selección de sándwiches, pasteles y bollos que se pueden adaptar a los gustos individuales, lo cual es muy útil. La calidad de la comida superó nuestras expectativas y no cambiaríamos nada. Tamaño de porción muy generoso, así que asegúrese de tener el estómago vacío, ¡fue demasiado para nosotros, así que terminamos teniendo una segunda sesión! Definitivamente lo usaré de nuevo.

Mi hija me había preguntado si quería algo para mi padre; s día y no tenía ni idea! ! Entonces recordé que mi esposa y amigos el año pasado habían estado en Cuthbert's para el té de la tarde. We had been given a Christmas Present by our daughter which was NewYorker afternoon tea for two at Cuthberts. The service was good and the food was top notch. Would certainly return and also recommend.

Mi pareja y yo vinimos a Cuthbert después de un desastroso té de la tarde sin gluten en otro lugar. ¡No hace falta decir que mis esperanzas eran bajas!¡Bien! ¡Todo fue maravilloso! El personal fue servicial y cortés por teléfono al hacer la reserva y en persona en la panadería. El servicio fue excelente, solo nos dejaron esperar una vez y estaba muy ocupado el día, el personal hizo todo lo posible para ayudar y complacer.El té de la tarde del New Yorker fue inventivo y único, ¡a mi pareja le encantó! También disfruté muchísimo mi té de la tarde sin gluten y no encontré nada de qué quejarme, todo estaba delicioso y muy bien presentado. Fantastic Afternoon Tea, I have had cakes in the past but first time I have been for a full afternoon tea, best in Liverpool. We booked a table and asked to swap some sandwiches which they did without an issue, everything was so fresh and delicious. We ordered one child’s afternoon tea which was so cute. All came with unlimited tea, coffee or hot chocolate, amazing value for money at £18.00 per person, we will be back, thanks for a great afternoon.

Had classic afternoon tea with my granddaughter, she had the children’s version. Everything delicious and beautifully presented. Staff are lovely and very helpful and prompt. Special mention for the almond custard cake! Highly recommend.

Cuthberts Bakehouse is a lovely traditional tea room with a buzzy atmosphere. It was a treat to have a pot of tea made with real tea leaves and the homemade fruit scone was also delicious. Our waitress was very charming and gave us service with a big smile, even though she was very busy.Highly recommended and will definitely return.

I can’t recommend this cute, quirky little cafe enough. Would call in now and again in between my university classes and I just love the food. The lovely ladies who work there are so welcoming and accommodating!

I popped in here by chance for a quick bite and cup of tea. The food is lovely, english staples, the staff offer extra water for your teapot, nothing is too much trouble. I highly reccommend this little gem.

I visited here for an afternoon tea today for a friends birthday. The food was beautiful including for my lovely, very fussy, vegetarian friend. All the food looked and tasted home made and I will definitely return for another visit. The service was excellent, all the staff were very attentive and friendly and they have a really good selection for vegans and vegetarians, as well as meat eaters.

Called in whilst on one of our regular walks along the Otterspool Promenade and then around Liverpool. The place was packed out. We had tea and fruit scone which were both excellent. Proper leaf tea in a glass teapot with inbuilt strainer. Will definitely return

Visited Liverpool at the end of August 2019. Took a tea time break from being tourists and stopped at Cuthbert's. Had tried scones at several places around town during the visit, but Cuthbert's were hands-down the best we had. Friendly, attentive service and fabulous scones and tea made for a relaxing break!

We went to Cuthberts for my husbands 70th birthday and had Afternoon Tea, it was absolutely lovely the staff were really friendly the food was delicious and we had a chat with one of the owners Elaine who is down to earth and very friendly, talking to her I could see why the place had a lovely atmosphere. My nephew was with us in a wheelchair and we fopund it accessible. I would highly recommend this place.

My parents treated me and my boyfriend to afternoon tea on Saturday before Christmas.

Visited between Xmas and new year for afternoon tea. Was bigger inside than expected and really festive. Service was good, afternoon tea was gorgeous but was only allowed one drink which were quite small and charged extra for cream and marshmallows on the hot chocolate when the afternoon tea was already reasonably pricey. Would recommend though.

My friend recommended this place for lunch after a work meeting and I really liked this lovely cafe. I ordered smoked salmon on a bagel - there's a choice of bagels too - and a pot of tea. They didn't bring the tea straightaway which was great so this was still warm when my bagel arrived. This was a delicious bagel with cream cheese and salmon and a small salad on the side and it was very filling. The slight downside was there was quite a wait for the food which might be a problem if you go in your lunch hour. Nevertheless the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful, and I will be happy to pop back next time I'm back over in Liverpool.

I went earlier in the year and was very impressed with the vegetarian afternoon tea options. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The portion was plentiful and represented great value. I'm looking forward to my next visit in February.

Tucked away in Liverpool’s student quarter, Cuthberts is one of those places you only know about on recommendation but judging by how bustling it was, the secret is out. Despite this, the staff were attentive and the atmosphere was cosy.

My friend and I visited yesterday for a cup of tea and a cake. Whist we were there we spotted an offer for a minced pie and a glass of mulled wine for £5 and we decided to go for that as we wanted to get into the Christmas spirit. We received a lovely, warm welcome from the really nice lady who was behind the counter and it was nice to see that as a vegetarian, there was a choice of two chocolate brownies (salted caramel or cream cheese) that were gluten free as I have to follow a gluten free diet. The service was quick and the cafe was nice and clean. The mulled wine was the nicest I've ever had and the salted caramel chocolate brownie was OK too. However, wanting to take advantage of the festive offer, I asked if they could offer me a gluten free option to replace the mince pie. I would have absolutely loved a gluten free mince pie but they didn't have any. At first the lady said she could replace the mince pie with a brownie; then she told me that she couldn't because there was a difference in price so I asked if I could just pay the difference as it's only a small business and I would not want anybody to be out of pocket as it's hard enough for small businesses to survive these days and we need to support them. She said that wouldn't be a problem and then I went ahead and ordered. Whilst I was halfway through drinking the mulled wine and after I'd finished the chocolate brownie, the lady who was serving us came over and was very apologetic, saying that for some reason, I could not just pay the difference so she'd have to charge separately for the wine and the gluten free cake. The food and wine were very nice and worth the money so I did not make a scene or refuse to pay but I was very disappointed that by the time I was told, it was too late to change my mind or send it back and if I'm to be honest, I did leave there feeling a bit cheated that there was no alternative for people like myself who had to follow a gluten free diet. For this reason, I have scored this cafe 4/5 and will probably not return as I felt devalued and unappreciated as a customer.

Cuthberts bakehouse is well worth going to it is 2 minute walk from Liverpool city centre especially if you like home made food and freshly made cakes and coffee definitely not to be missed

We had our Christmas gathering for The British Music Experience at this wonderful little gem tucked away in Liverpool's student quarter. So much food, so tasty and the ladies serving us were spot on! Thank you so much!!!

My two daughters treated me to a festive afternoon tea as part of my birthday present, (knowing how I love afternoon teas and have tried most in Liverpool). I have to say it was an excellent choice, definitely one of the best I’ve had. Waffle served with turkey, cranberry sauce and delicious pigs in blankets was great, along with various delicious sandwiches. The cakes were amazing, the highlight being a triangular shaped slice of chocolate cake decorated to look like a Christmas tree. Pleasant staff.

The New Yorker afternoon tea is just delicious, i had the vegetarian option and the halloumi was amazing! The cakes were spot on for a New York style afternoon tea, red velvet cupcake, brownie, new york cheese cake etc and the scone was delicious too , well worth the money would most definitely recommend

I have been to Cuthbert’s for afternoon tea twice-once with friends and a second time as a mother’s day treat. A high quality afternoon tea is what you get in a nice environment. I have tried the classic afternoon tea which is great but my particular favourite was the American style afternoon tea which came with mini burgers, hotdogs and fries in place of the sandwiches. You also get unlimited tea from a large tea selection. We had afternoon tea for two so got one classic and one American style tea to try a bit of both. They have quite a large conservatory at the back which is a lot more spacious to sit then the area just as you go inside.

I went to Cuthberts for a vegan afternoon tea for my birthday. Our booking got lost so they told us it would be an hours wait on food (easy mistake to make, having worked in hospitality I’ve seen this happen loads and they handled it amazingly!!) However they offered us free Prosecco and some nachos with hummus and salsa whilst we waited! The staff were incredible with this and kept checking on us and topping our drinks up!

Went in today for lunch, really cosy, cute atmosphere. Ordered food and a drink and the food was really nice. Not very expensive either, would definitely recommend to anybody!

A lunch treat for me as a thank you from one of my colleagues from another branch, I decided on Cuthberts because it was nearby and the food is excellent. I was disappointed to find that on a Monday lunchtime there were no roasted vegetables for my falafel and halloumi toastie. I asked for an alternative to the vegetables, i.e. salad and was given a menu to choose something else! I opted for the goats cheese and caramelised onion, which was delicious and came with lovely hot, crispy chips. I would have liked a salad garnish and my food on a plate, rather than a plastic basket. My colleague enjoyed the cheese and tuna toastie. I will return, but will call ahead to ensure they have what I want.

Cuthberts hosted our daughter's christening party for 25 family members and was faultless. The room, food and staff ensured the afternoon was perfect. I highly recommend here for a family get together.

The food was lovely but the wait time and staff ruin it! Had to wait for pre booked table, our table when finally ready was in a terrible position with no room to move. The staff were not very friendly, were not organised and did not ask once if food was ok, despite having to wait for preordered food for 35 mins.

A classical high tea bought as a birthday present for my wife & I by my niece proved to “Classical”. The service was excellent as was the food that made up our classical high tea. Think of an afternoon tea anywhere you wishing the world and Cuthbert’s is as good or better. Enjoy the afternoon with a glass of bubbles to enhance the overall experience - total joy!!

First time in Cuthberts and Im going to be a regular! Great staff and constant coffee replenishment. Love the chinaware and the veggie afternoon tea was epic, lovely selection of sandwiches and crostinis with imaginative fillings.

Popped in for a working lunch. The place has had a big makeover since I was there last and it's really nice. There is a large garden room in the back which is a great place to sit and enjoy the food. Great coffee and simple but tasty food.

Took my mum and sister here for our birthday treat. We ordered a traditional,gluten free and children's afternoon tea.

Gluten-free cake and Gin- can't really go wrong! Though they only had one gluten-free choice which was a bit disappointing, a brownie with caramel sauce, though it was very yummy. Location isn't great- a bit of a walk from the centre 15 mins ish, and not this nicest area of Liverpool. Though in saying that I would still highly recommend.

We came as a family of 4 as a gift for father's day, we chose the New Yorker for afternoon tea with a twist. Girls serving were lovely, food was great! Really nice quality and a good amount, we had to box some up to take away! Hot drinks were unlimited which was great. It's a lovely little place and I will return to try some more of the cakes!

Treated my mum to afternoon tea as a present for her 90th birthday, as she'd never had afternoon tea before. She had a lovely time - the food was delicious, the staff couldn't have been kinder, the chairs were comfy, the toilets clean, and the people at the table next to ours said they'd been for afternoon tea at the Hilton and it was nearly as nice as what we were having.She was thrilled. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

A big group of us visited Cuthbert’s Bakehouse for a get together on a Saturday afternoon in June. Looks clean and tidy outside but walked inside and Wow!! Lovely venue, pleasant staff and delicious food and service. Will definitely be visiting again soon .

In Liverpool for the day and stumbled upon this little gem of a cafe. Brilliant food and superb service (with a smile) - some really unusual dishes. We had the Sriracha chicken waffle, which was to die for.

Just got back from a delicious vegan afternoon tea here. The food was lovely and we loved savoury elements of the vegan option, instead of just a humous sandwich we also had quinoa pots and roasted cauliflower which was great. I have been vegan for nearly 6 months now and have had quite a few meat afternoon teas before this but have to say this has been my favourite afternoon tea to date. Cakes lovely too as was scone and strawberries dipped in chocolate, super juicy and fresh. My only small points for improvement would be relating to the scone - having a “vegan cream” option was great but this was just an incredibly sweet buttercream that was on top of all the other cakes, just way too much. Sadly no margarine but this would have been much better option in my opinion . Also labelling of the hot chocolate, says all are vegan with soy milk but in fact not the case. But would definitely be back it was lovely, thank you!

Lovely little cafe with plenty of seating, which is surprising as it looks small from the outside. Everything is served on vintage china which I thought added something extra and made it feel special. We came for cake but the menu was great - lots of choice from sandwiches all the way to a vegan afternoon tea. I had the carrot cake which was delicious. They can easily be messed up in my opinion, but this was one of the best I’ve ever had. Friendly staff too!

Stumbled upon this walking down one of the side streets in Liverpool. Was pleasantly surprised that there was instant space on a sunday afternoon, didn't have to wait long at all for a coffee and cake. Really beautiful place, the main part has a glass roof which would have been perfect in the sunshine! Modern decour yet still some ambience of a traditional tea room. Friendly and accommodating staff. Really enjoyed the mars bar brownie/ biscuit that I had and the chai latte was gorgeous! Saw some people who had ordered afternoon tea which looked to die for. Also saw some tasty easter cocktails which I would definitely go back to try!

My sister treated me to afternoon tea here for my birthday, omg it was the best afternoon tea I’ve had, we had the vegetarian one although the menu is amazing, they cater for everyone. . Everything is made fresh. The sandwiches are wonderful and the cakes are simply gorgeous, we will definitely be going back

Booked a table for Afternoon Tea for two for a Mother's Day treat. I wanted to go somewhere really lovely as neither of us had been for it before and I decided on Cuthbert's. The whole experience was just fabulous. The food was delicious, with such attention to detail, excellent presentation and portions are generous. There is such a quint, classic feel to the place and there is really beautiful china, if you like antiques. The service couldn't be faulted; the staff were really friendly and helpful despite the fact they were running off their feet! I would highly recommend this place, especially if you haven't been for Afternoon Tea before. It is a great present for someone, my mum absolutely adored the experience. Make sure to book well in advance as it books up quickly!

Came here for a belated Mother’s Day gift and it certainly did not disappoint. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. The food was delicious. Will definitely be coming here again.

Came for lunch with friends midweek and it was great. Friendly staff, lovely food and amazing cakes.

I booked Cuthberts following a recommendation for their afternoon tea so had high hopes. I have had my fair share of afternoon teas so was looking forward to seeing how this would compare. On the whole it did not disappoint but this was more down to the surroundings as it was a very busy Saturday afternoon, the place was full, very noisy and it felt like everyone was sitting on top of each other! However, the service was very efficient and friendly. I had the vegetarian option and the sandwiches were tasty with interesting fillings which was good to see as I have had some pretty plain vegetarian fillings at other places. The cakes were a bit 'heavy' and I would have preferred something a bit more delicate. Our table was tiny and we struggled to fit everything on it, so whilst it would have been nice to have the tea served in vintage teapots to go with the other china I don't think we could have fitted it on the table! I would definitely return to try the vegan and vegetarian New Yorker offerings.

Fuimos a las 11: 15 am en un viernes, me dieron un desayuno y un menú de almuerzo. Pedimos una comida de almuerzo para que nos dijeran que no está disponible hasta las 12! . . . ¿Por qué nos dan un menú de almuerzo entonces? . La selección del desayuno fue limitada, no la que se muestra en línea, ya que verifiqué después para asegurarme de que el plato que pedí en realidad faltara el chile dulce, que era. La mañana que fuimos allí no era en realidad un desayuno completo disponible solo para tostadas y bagels. Hice mi propia masa fermentada, así que me decepcionó encontrar que la tostada era solo tostada, si era masa fermentada no había sabor. Había solo otra mesa cuando llegamos, el servicio era lento, el café estaba caliente y bueno, la jarra de leche tenía una fuga y tuvimos que decidir cuál de nosotros iba a usar nuestra "servilleta" para limpiar el desorden.

Wir ( zu zweit) wollten zur Teatime das Cuthberts besuchen. Obwohl offensichtlich Tische & im hinteren Raum ganze Bereiche frei und nicht reserviert waren hat man uns an der Tür abgewiesen mit der Bergründung es ist kein Platz vorhanden.

Cuthberts Bakery has delicious sandwiches and cakes. The staff are really nice and friendly. My favourite thing was the chocolate dipped strawberry!

Having had high expectations for this cute cafe, me and my family were very disappointed. The food was average; dry cakes and watery hot chocolates. Service was extremely slow and were out of almost every cake! Won’t be coming here again.

New yorker vegetarian afternoon tea is absolutely amazing! Would highly recommend. The halloumi hotdog is delicious. The cafe itself is lovely, as are the staff who were very happy to help. Will definitely be returning in the future!

What a beautiful quaint place. We just stopped for a quick tea break. It was lovely. Tea came in a unusual pot. With proper tea leaves. I didn’t have a cake but my word they did look good. The staff were polite and helpful. Would definitely go again.

Lovely venue for lunch with friends.

I went recently as part of a Hen Party and ordered a Vegetarian New Yorker with Prosecco. The cafe was quite busy with a steady stream of customers but the service was great, very efficient but unhurried so it felt really relaxing. Our servers were friendly and happy to take photos and kept the tea flowing. I was delighted with my choice and whilst there was a huge amount of food I paced myself and did manage to eat it all. Other members of our party asked for boxes to take the cakes with them for later.

I want to write a good review of Cuthbert’s because it’s a beautiful place but unfortunately can’t after yesterday’s visit. We were booked in for a staff Christmas party at 330. There was maybe 15 of us. We didn’t get any food until almost 520, despite having provided menu choices upfront and asking the staff. We were told everything was being made fresh but some of the bread was stale and the food generally wasn’t worth waiting for. I was sadly last to be served despite being 8 and a half months pregnant and totally starving. No deposits were taken off the bill without us asking. They charged an extra £3 for non alcoholic Prosecco despite an entire bottle being £3.50 to buy in shops. No discount was offered for the delay. All in all, not the best experience.

Booked ‘New York’ afternoon tea. Was absolutely delicious. Good amount of food, struggled to fit it all in.

This place has the perfect combo. Gorgeous food, cosy surroundings and good customer service. We had the New York themed afternoon tea with a glass of Prosecco. The savoury food was especially good. A short walk from Lime street station, so worth it.

After messaging on Facebook, as I could not be too sure that we could stick to a designated time, I was reassured and our visit was planned. Upon arrival at the spacious, bright and warming bakehouse we were seated in an area that was more than ideal. It was not over snug and more than comfortable - I did have a padded cushion on mine! Hot Chocolate and Coffee were included in Afternoon Tea. The selection of sandwiches were served via different mediums, so, bruschetta, seeded 'buns' aswell as regular bread. The cakes were all delicately and neatly presented as were the scones (you can't have afternoon tea without a scone!) We brought some of our Cakes home as we couldn't manage them - Cuthberts provided us with boxes. Overall an enjoyable experience which I can and will recommend to all

Had a lovely experience at Cuthbert’s. Opted to sit round the back away from the door and found a lovely heated area. There was some lovely rustic decorations and all the tables were very clean.

Quirky little bakehouse with modern, rustic decor and an area with heated lamps for these freezing cold winter days. Lovely, local business with friendly staff and fresh, homemade cakes and bakes. Lovely array of drinks (hot, cold, and alcoholic), food and cakes at a very reasonable price, worth every penny. Definitely will come back here.

Had afternoon tea today. It was really nice. I had the new york one and my friend the veggie one. It's bottomless tea. Which was great as I think you need more than one cuppa with an afternoon tea. Would defiantly go again.

Arrived early, but made very welcome, offered a variety of leave teas lovely homemade cakes, sandwiches. and scones with homemade jam, all in a delightful selection and was able to purchase other cakes to take home

Quintessentialy British beautiful cafe. Hidden jem in Liverpool. Within walking distance of University and so worth the walk. China plates and cups. Scone and jam plus cream to die for.

Went in for a coffee while we waited to join the Liverpool Nobody Knows Tour, Murder and Macabre. We had a cappuccino and a latte, shared a red velvet cupcake, scrumptious. Service quick and friendly. Set us up for the tour. Fab.
