Our 1st trip into Liverpool City Centre of the new year saw us pick out several of our favourite pubs to visit ,at the top of our list was The Cross Keys Pub . This tucked away back street boozer is a gem of a pub ,housed in a great looking building, the interior is superb, traditional as it gets ,a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings, big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and upstairs on their upstairs outside terrace,it's just a wonderful pub that's great to chill out in. We got here at midday as the pub opened up for the day so we were the first customers of the day so we could really appreciate what a great looking pub this is ,a quick study of their real ale's which is always really good and we both opted to have pale ale's from Horizon Brewery, these were served in pristine condition, we chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our pale ale's. My pale ale was really good, well balanced, hoppy but not overhopped, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish, a classic British pale ale served in a classic British back street boozer, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew and sat with my twin brother, best beer companion in the world. We both really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Cross Keys Pub we had a wonderful time. The Cross Keys Pub is easy to locate along Earle Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from midday. A wonderful pub that's well worth seeking out if you're in the area or planning to visit Liverpool.

The Cross Keys on Earle street is a brilliant local pub that offer's an excellent range of food and drinks and is a hidden gem. This is a fantastic pub that's housed in a fantastic building'the interior has a really traditional pub interior with many interesting feature's throughout it's interior. There's many interesting fixtures and great seating option's and a brilliant terrace and its a pub that me and my twin brother have visited hundred's of times over the years as it offer's a superb range of cask ales. When we visited here it wasn't particularly full but there where a few locals in here who where watching the FA cup.On our visit we had a few glasses of cask ale which were brilliant and well priced. This is a superb pub thats well worth a visit and very easy to find from Moorfields train station its a short walk away.(This is my 3rd of the Cross Keys). Opening Hours. Monday-Saturday-12.00-23.00. Sunday-12.00-19.00. Public Transport. Moorfields Train Station.

The staff were very slow at serving the food was very very cold and you can tell it came out of the microwave. The pie was rockhard and the filling was very very dry. The peas were shrivelled up. There were very few chips. The food was awful and I mean awful There needs to be an overhaul of the chef or the menu, because the food made our group very ill and we were very disappointed it was expensive. We ordered a steak sandwich which came between two bits of white bread brought from the supermarket. It was an awful experience all round. The chef is not worth making a meal for a dog

Excellent service, good pub lunch, very good pint of Speckled Hen. The service was outstanding despite the place being very busy - one multitasking barman looking after everyone, and despite the warning food would take 25 minutes it took less than 15 minutes which was perfectly acceptable. Scampi and chips were good too.

Brilliant pub hidden in the back streets of Liverpool’s business district. Bar staff know their stuff when it comes to suggesting drinks, always a good sign. Draught offering excellent: lager, cider, stout, real ale, craft beer. Bottled beers great choice (Sagres is my go to bottle). Plenty of choice for spirits. Lovely little beer garden and roof terrace. Generally a great atmosphere there. A must visit if you're in the area and fancy a bevvy.

We were attending a beetle weight robot wars style event at this pub on Sat 25th March. Very entertaining. The landlord and staff were friendly and accommodating. There were robots in various states of disrepair on tables all around the pub. Locals joined in with chants and football style cheering during the bouts. It was nice to be able to order food here. We all had burgers and chips, though the menu was quite extensive. The meal was well cooked and tasty. I'm sure on a normal night this pub is like an old fashioned local with lots of banter and folk with character.

One of Liverpools best back street boozers is The Cross Keys Pub ,a wonderful pub that because of the various lockdowns I haven't been able to visit for ages. This is a wonderful looking pub ,a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings, tv's and big screens to enjoy the sport, a back room plus a beer garden, upstairs there's an upstairs outside terrace, all in all its a great pub to chill out in. We were here on a Thursday afternoon, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff, we track and traced and sanitised our hands were we where allocated a table, we both ordered a real ale each, we chose pale ales ,these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. My pale ale was really good, a crisp, well balanced pale ale with a big hit of hops, hints of toffee and a delicious aroma, a proper classic British pale ale. We both really enjoyed our pale ale's in here, only stayed for the one each before moving on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Cross Keys is one of those pubs that we have visited hundreds of times as there cask ale range is fantastic but on this occasion due to no fault of the pub they hadn't any cask ale on and so when we visited we opted to have a Guinness. The Guinness was excellent and well priced and I can honestly say as good a Guinness as any Irish pub I have visited in the city centre. The Cross Keys is a fantastic pub and it's good to see it open again and we will visit again in the not to distant future. Every Tuesday evening upstairs they have an evening hosted by none other than Hughie Jones from the spinners. He and his wife Christine invite guests up to sing. There is also a guitar player named Keith Price who’s dry sense of humour has the audience in stitches. If you’re looking for nostalgia this is the place to come on a Tuesday night.
