Lovely surprise how big the pub is.

Looks nice from outside, but not had pleasure of stepping-in and sampling food, drinks, service and atmosphere.

I haven't tried the food here but I really like this pub. Most Tuesday's a varying cast of characters and I, covering a wide range of ages, play Bluegrass music in one of the small rooms and people can listen in or not. The staff are very welcoming and seem like a lovely bunch and there's a good choice of beers. What's not to love!

Very busy community pub. Good variety of pub food and good pint of ale from Greene King.

The bar maid was very abrupt in her response. She unfortunately read a book by it's cover. All skin heads or "rough" looking people aren't always rough. We just been rough places. I'd rather s my dead gdad off than go back to that shower of sh..if you have an ounce of common then you'll swerve it. Full of plod.com.

Great local pub. Cheap and cheerful food, a good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. Proper eclectic mix of characters.

Food was nice mixed grill £14 not very big and only had 2 onion rings 1 normal sized onion ring and the 2nd was the size of a 50p coin wasn't impressed overall but was ok. Oh and all the staff where great except for an older barman who was miserable with a bad attitude but he got ignored. Overall nice pub nice food and nice staff would recommend

Stood in the Bar and went back seven decades in time, the beer cost a lot .more than the nine pence I paid for my first drink there. The memories were priceless

Great pub and a great atmosphere. We came here for a quick drink while waiting for a train. The staff were lovely and friendly and the food looked lovely. We will definitely return and try out the food

I wrote a bit ago lamenting that the portions had got smaller, presumably in an attempt to hold back the rise in prices of food and fuel that we all face. Unfortunately, one doesn't want half a dinner! Glad to say things seem to have gone back to normal and we eat there regularly and have not been disappointed. It's a pub, so people who expect fine dining should go elsewhere! Does get a bit busy around 6pm. One point is nothing to do with the food, but I do wish people with dogs had a care for other people. Last time someone carried a dog in and plonked it on the padded chair. One presumes they hadn't just washed its bum, so the next user gets to enjoy this. Not to mention the dog hairs. I realise some people love their dogs more than their children, but put them on the floor PLEASE.

Terrible service. Rude, surly bar man who looked like he hated every customer he served. Whole place needs levelling and starting again. Couldn’t be worse!

Been there several times and the food has been excellent, which is what matters the most. Could do with a little TLC inside. Tables are a bit sticky. But overall a good experience.

The host was very good 👍 plenty on the menu enjoyed our meal asked 3 times if everything was OK. The young lady who served us was adorable definitely go again Very friendly pub

One of the few remaining pubs that has got a real community friendly feel to it. It's like walking into someone's house. Excellent value food and drinks. Friendly bar staff. Belter entertainment. Friendly punters. Moretti on draft. What more can you ask for in a boozer.

Such a disappointment from last time I visited 35 years ago when it was a popular pub. Was going to have food but only had 2 drink place looked very tatty and tired seating filthy with lots of stains we just drank up and went somewhere else instead 👎👎👎

Service was sloppy..not very slick or professional. Far!!! Far!!! too noisy in the bar area with the usual pop rubbish. There are areas which were quieter. And the patio was quite nice.

0 points just been for Sunday lunch , disgusting! How can roast chicken be so bad ,it's the easiest meat to cook, it was very poor quality,stringy pale and tasted awful ,gave it to the dog,,the veg was all frozen and not even real roast potatoes,place needs good refit too

Love this pub, everyone is always really friendly. Haven't tried the food here yet to rate the food. A pint of Stella is a really good price £3.70.

First time in this pub for many years. I was very pleasantly surprised on my Friday evening visit. Nice atmosphere, great layout and happy, helpful and polite staff. One major thing I noted was value for money. Drinks were reasonable and the food was very tasty and not overpriced. All in all, a very enjoyable evening.

Really good variety of food served at reasonable prices. Specials 2 meals for £12.95 really good value and great size portions. Would highly recommend this pub

Not been in the Rose of Mossley for a good few years. The pub was very full as it was Friday night at 5 30.But lots of staff on so we didn't have to wait at the bar. The staff are very friendly.

Me and my partner and sister in law go here very often lovely atmosphere the food is amazing especially for 2 for £12 you really cannot complain staff are fantastic we love it here great place for anyone wanting a budget friendly meal that Tastes great for all the family. Chicken and bacon salad is delicious and the steak is amazing quality you could not cook meals at home for them prices. Enjoy

Lovely pub the management and staff were lovely even threw in 4 free cocktails for a friends birthday. The live entertainment Rag N Tag were a great addition, food was very tasty and good size portions will be returning.

Lovely food, great prices and staff very accommodating. It was busy on Friday but got our food order really quickly.

Visited on Sunday 15th Jan. Food was top quality, generous portions and very good value. Half chicken was beautiful, perfectly cooked and juicy. All of our groups food was excellent, everyone was happy. Anna the host was excellent, very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back here 👍

Come here quite often with the dogs. Its just a nice little pub, great for a quiet drink, and the beer garden is lovely.

Quiet when we went in( 9pm ish) , but loads of places to sit and chat. Bar staff are friendly and attentive. There was an amazing female singer on later on.

Popped in for dinner with my son. Friendly atmosphere and staff. Two fantastic mains, steak and ale pie and a rump steak. Both for under £12. Just back from a trip to New York where the prices are eye watering. It was nice to be back in comfort and great food at reasonable prices . 5 stars again.

Large old school boozer near the train station. Serves food and shows sports. Entertainment on weekends and quiz nights. One real ale on. Usually busy in evenings throughout the week Plenty of seating 🍻 🎤 🎶 ⚽

Such a great pub with amazing vibes. Everyone is treated like family. Loved sticky 13 even if he made fun of my dress and that I was from New Zealand. Can't wait to come back next time I visit 🙂

Great pub with lovely atmosphere. Staff welcoming and helpful. Meals were big portions and extremely tasty. Can particularly recommend the lasagne. The only shortcoming is that they really need an IPA beer on draught to be perfect. We will be back.

I thought I'd gone back to the 80's when I went to the restaurant area. Decor was so old fashiond. Desperately needs updating. Also food was very poor. Been to a few green Kings now and always get the steak and ale pie. So I got it this time, it was microwaved and soggy. Now kids menu's with meal, pudding, drink options. Just a calk board. Won't be going there again. Will stick the the light house in wallesy.

Sadly we were there for a funeral but very nice, staff very friendly.

We go the rose now and then for a quick drink. But on Sunday we had a lovely Sunday lunch, would recommend the lamb roast. and they played card bingo. It was a good night

Cosy pub, large portions, roast dinners only £5.50 and on the main menu a great selection of pub classics. I had the veggie pasta bake which was huge! Wish they did a veggie roast but not complaining as the menu has lots of options. Desserts are massive too. Nice to see a place reasonably priced with decent portions.

Went to the Rose last night for tea. The food was lovely with a great selection and the staff were lovely. Always a pleasure to visit there.
