The Font in Liverpool

Good food and service. Bit noisy to be honest but it is a student bar.

Its a decent place but don't go if there's a pub quiz on because the quizmaster is openly hostile and incredibly rude.

Just stopped off gorgeous drinks, a nice place handy if you're visiting the excellent University of Liverpool

If you want to be screamed at to go home, barely 20 seconds after you've been politely asked to finish up by a member of staff, by all means visit this bar and be belittled. The rest of the staff, however, are wonderfully professional. And when I say screaming, that bartender should retrain as a drill sergeant, he's got the pipes for it. Totally uncalled for and demeaning behaviour for absolutely no reason. The drinks are also well over a fiver a pint so you're better off elsewhere in that sense too.

The self proclaimed homosexual in a night wing shirt ruined our night - the other bar staff were lovely and courteous but the egomaniac on the mic had to scream and resort to name calling and guilt tripping which is beyond unprofessional and was frankly embarrassing.

Called in for a spot of food at tea time on a rainy wet Saturday. Great food at a reasonable price with a decent menu covering most palates.

Terrible host for Eurovision. Rude, spoke over every act and drove us out.

The drinks were decent and cheap, however, me and my friends went for Eurovision 2023, the host was absolutely 1000% awful, he was rude, spoke over every. single. act. When people left he'd scream at them and call them names, regardless of why they left, he was rude to us for...moving tables???? Like seriously??? We moved to an empty table in a bar and we're shouted at???? If you want a fun night, maybe give this a miss, if you want a cheap night, give it a go

Always love coming here, the cocktails are great and there's a varied menu, prices are good and there's a nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back soon!

Fui al bar de fuentes el viernes 3 de octubre de 2020, mientras entraba, la música estaba muy alta, cuando mi novio y yo estábamos a punto de pedir las bebidas, decía en el menú 3 bebidas por un precio determinado (no No recuerdo el precio, pero de todos modos) así que mi novio pidió algunas bebidas, quería una de cada una como decía en el menú, pero cuando llegó su pedido, el hombre le dio 3 de las mismas bebidas con las que mi novio no estaba contento, así que dijo Quería 3 cócteles diferentes, el hombre no estaba contento, así que los tomó de vuelta para cambiarlos, luego mi novio solo quería un cóctel que era melon baller, lo ordenó, vinieron 3, así que se quejó nuevamente de que solo quería 1 bebida, luego el hombre también una señora que nos atendió tampoco estaba contento, así que tuvimos que devolver las bebidas, pedí un cóctel sin alcohol que se suponía que tenía sabor Starburst, ¡pero todas las bebidas sabían a jugo de fruta aguado! ! ! Good bar, ideal for students being literally round the corner from a good few of the Universitys but don't let that put you off, we've been a good few times now and it's a relaxed, always friendly bar with the sports on, decent food and there's a good selection of beers and spirits

The Font es uno de los mejores pubs de Arrad Street y se estableció desde 2001 y es uno de los pub favoritos de los estudiantes, ya que ofrecen bebidas y hamburguesas baratas. Le prix est plus que raisonnable et les cocktails sont variés et bons. La déco est sympa. Bonne adresse !

It’s a great place for students as it’s close to the universities but also see locals in here. Food is great, prices are cheap and the drinks are real good. Bar staff are lovely and they usually have some decent music playing if not ask them to put something else on they don’t mind. Burgers and chips they do here are great and Thursday quiz night is a good laugh with friends. The games consoles are a great addition and really add to the chilled out vibe. Only criticisms are the football when on can be very loud and sometimes the toilets aren’t in the best condition but the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. Their sister bar Doughbar is also great and the app is well worth getting!

We came with some mates to watch the football. Food was nice and the atmosphere was fun and welcoming. Drinks were cheap and of good quality. It could use with a good clean though and the sight of the ripped sofas is not appealing

We came to watch Liverpool play Totts in the European Cup final. Fabulous atmosphere but best of all we’re the burgers. We’ve recently eaten at Free state Kutchen and Death Row Diner but these were by far the best and the cheapest! So recommended

Staff r a bit weird especially ginger 1 but 5* tho. Nice smell and games and customers r weird. Drinks nice and food delish yum yum. No locks on toilets mean it's an adventure

I love the font so much, especially for food, the value is exceptional! You can get a jacket potato with cheese and beans for only £3.50, it is incredible! Many selected cocktails are also £3-£3.50 which is incredible, including strawberry dacquiries which are my fave! I would totally recommend this place, it is nice and relaxing and chilled out. However, sometimes they have ran out of a few items of food sometimes which is annoying. However, the staff are lovely and value for money is great!

What’s great place! Delicious food, great portion sizes and friendly staff! All combined with a great atmosphere, it makes for a lovely lunch! Also been here for cocktails which were just as tasty! Perfect bench seating for big groups or just a few friends!

Student gaff good atmosphere reasonable choices of beer

Met up with some old mates at the font after our usual haunt was too full to fit us in, and wow were we impressed. The food was great value and the cocktails were creative and cheap! I opted for a Dr pepper cocktail and then a couple of others, it was great.

Good student bar/restaurant with amazingly cheap cocktails and reasonably priced, good quality food. Staff are lovely and I’d much rather go here than the hope and anchor round the corner

As a student, I like to find new places to visit and new restaurants to try out. I found out about this place from a close friend and we dined here for a quick meal before setting off to the Everyman Theatre afterwards (it's very close proximity and in walking distance)

I practically live in here every time I visit Liverpool. Fantastic bar, great food and drinks at reasonable prices. Never disappoints. I always start here before going out on a big night. Just a shame they couldn't stay open for longer!

This bar is close to the University and Catholic Cathedral and offers a good range of food at reasonable prices. Also has some tasty cask ales so ticks the boxes as far as I'm concerned!

Lovely foof at a good price, same goes for the large choice of cocktails. Quiz on Thursdays always a laugh and they have multiple consols to play on with friends.

Vicino all'università possiamo trovare questo pub, molto attivo e vivace, pieno di studenti e di vita. Birre ottime a rotazione ogni settimana, questa volta ho provato una IPA fenomenale. Ottimi burgers, con vasta scelta e molto buoni anche i contorni; assolutamente da provare le curly chips, buonissime! Il locale è carino e curato.

Every time I have previously visited The Font it has always impressed me. The food is normally very good and the drinks are reasonably priced. However on this visit there were several issues. We ordered a soup and a garlic bread to start and a jacket potato and a brunch for our mains. The starters arrived with the mains. The waitress said although we'd asked for the starters first the tills hadn't done it properly. This meant we were left to hurriedly eat out starters so the mains didn't get too cold. Upon eating the mains we discovered that the toast on the brunch was extremely burnt, this was rectified by a member of staff. By the time we realised we had nearly finished the meals so felt too awkward to inform the staff. The quality of the Diet Coke we purchased was also poor as it was flat and warm. The overall feeling we had from the place was dirty and a lack of care. I was very disappointed as I normally rely on the font as a go to place for good food and a good time. As it is a student bar I feel that extra care should be taken to give the best service as many students could not afford to buy other food elsewhere after they had already purchased food which was unsatisfactory.

Cheap enough food which is tasty and cocktails are as cheap as £2 each! Great atmosphere and a wide variety available. Would highly recommend.

THE FONT is a pub that I love to visit as to me it has everything I love about a good pub.The interior is superb with a colourful decorative scheme,photos and paintings on the wall's,nice decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options.The Font has a superb drink range and the meals menu is extensive with a very impressive burger selection at great prices.They offer quiz nights ,superb music and a great location being near the stunning Metropolitan Cathedral and in the heart of the students district. My twin brother Stephen and I were on a real ale pub and Craft Beer bar trail around Liverpool and after having just been to The Augustus John Pub we dropped into here. The pub was busy with a cracking atmosphere,after a quick study of the real ale's on offer i opted to try Peerless Brewery I.P.A and this real ale was served in tip top condition and we just chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this wonderful pub.I finished my 1st real ale in no time at all so decided to have a nice cider and went for Rosies Triple D cider and this cider was absolutely delicious,i must say the cellar persons who look after the real ale's and cider's here really know their craft,each drink was superb.Before we moved on i had to try one of their bottled beer's and went for one of my favourite beers namely Vedett Blonde and this classic Belgium light beer was just superb ,this is a beer i really enjoy and have sampled on many holidays to Belgium over the years.This was a fitting end to a splendid visit to The Font ,we are back in Liverpool city centre in a couple of weeks and I intend to return here to sample one of their burgers as burger meal's leaving the kitchen on our visit looked and smelt delicious. The Font Pub is easy to locate,just head to the Metropolitan Cathedral and the pub is found on Arrad Street .opening hours are;Monday to Saturday,11am till 11pm ( food served till 9.30pm )Sunday,midday till 10.30pm. ( food served till 7.30pm ).A superb pub and one I highly recommend you visit if your in the area.

A really great student bar and a great place to start the night on a student night out. I've been coming here for ages and have always enjoyed myself. They also do food which is a good advantage and it's prices are great.

The Font is an excellent pub in Liverpool City Centre that has on offer an excellent well priced food menu and a superb range of drinks at very affordable prices.A great pub which is located near Liverpool's very impressive Metropolitan Cathedral and a few minutes walk from the new Everyman theatre were there are some excellent bars and pubs and restaurants.The Font pub is a pub frequented by many students and is a pub that is also very popular with locals and tourists.The Font has a great exterior and looks very inviting.Inside the Font has an open plan interior with many interesting fixtures and features and an excellent bar and bar area.They have plenty of excellent seating options and extremely good staff who are very friendly and helpful.We went here after visiting a pub that is called the Augustus John which is another excellent student pub and on our way back to Hope street called into the Font.I hav'nt been to the Font pub for a couple of years and to be honest was pleasantly surprised at the beer range on offer.When we went here we opted to have a few pints of the cask ales which were superb.We then had a couple of bottles of craft beer that were excellent and the price of the draught and the bottle range was excellent value.The Font pub is an excellent pub that is located in an area full of pubs/bars and restaurants and is a pub well worth a visit.Located on a street called Arrad street.Opening hours are.Monday-Sunday-11.00-23.00.

This is my favourite boozer in Liverpool! Atmosphere is great and the staff are always fun and friendly. Nothing better than a pint (or ten) and one of their amazing burgers! Hughly recommend!

I have been here a good few times and have never been disappointed with the food- there is something for every occasion and loads of choice on the menu. Burgers are homemade and delicious and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Also doesn't hurt that the drinks are super cheap and cheerful! Would definitely go back :)

Went here for a quick burger with some mates and were met with putrid burgers, stale chips and staff who seemed like they were working in a prison. Absolutely no emotion, made worse when we politely asked for replacement chips because ours were so hard they'd barely been taken out of the ground, let alone the oven. The burger tasted like I was eating an old dog. Doesn't take much to force a smile, even if it's a bad one, it's the thought that counts...The place looks more like a laser quest centre than a pub too. We're Uni students, therefore you won't get many 12 year old birthday party's coming!

The menu card has got a lot of dishes.It is cheap but the dishes are nice and well presented.All of burgers are home made and lovely.

For a student bar the food and drink is really good. Plenty of choice and friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere, comfortable seating and space for large groups. If you don't expect to much you won't be disappointed so just enjoy

You pay for what you get nothing fancy just good grub in a good location. Ideal for a student or if youre up the top end of town

Me and a friend ordered food from here. The table was not wiped and still had food on from the last customers. After a lengthy wait, the food finally arrived. Mine was as I ordered it but my friends was completely wrong. We sent it back and waited for the correct order to come through. Again, after a long time I decided to go up and enquirer into what was happening. The staff were not helpful in informing me what the situation was. The food was said to on the way. It came back and was the same plate of food that came in the first place. The only difference was that the burger had extra toppings on again what we did not ask for. The food was like warm. The chips were still curly fries instead of chunky chips. The request for Chucky chips was reiterated twice after the food was sent back. My friend decided to keep the food as we had been waiting for so long. However, I went over to the staff once again asking about why the chips were still curly fries. This particular member of staff showed little interaction scurried into the kitchen and within 30 seconds a plate of chunky chips were brought out. The plate was dirty and the food was luke warm and definitely not fresh. The member of staff who brought it over did not once apologise, he placed the chips down without saying anything. Very poor service. I must add that my food wasn't a great standard for the price I payed. The hallumi was dry and had been cooked on both side by what I can only imagine as a trainee or amateur chef. The food service and quality was terrible. We would not recommend food from here. The drinking environment seemed to be ok so would not be put off to have a pint here.

First order of business, the drinks. My red bull vodka was flatter than my chest. The vodka tasted like a Russians p*$$, it was definitely not the adequate triple distilled, 10 times filtered, 8 hours funnelled through European hard word charcoal, in the stage 10 process. The strawberry vodka fizz tasted like antibacterial fairy liquid, taking us to the next issue that was rudely spun our way. The bar staff were arrogant and distinctively unattentive. One long haired blonde girl had a particularly spicey attitude toward me, and seemed resilient to serve me in a friendly fashion. Another young whippersnapper, took payment from a man next to me while I was waiting to be served, she looked at me and proceeded to walk along the bar to her colleagues for a chingwag leaving me helpless and afraid. A young man then had to come along the bar to fulfil my prophesies. The only redeeming quality of this vulgar visit, was the solid 10 bar man with dark brown hair, if he'd like to email back I would be enthrilled. As for dishes, I don't recommend the savage attitude, served with a appetising side of arrogance.Will probably be back again as the drinks were only £2, after a vigorous 3 day bender fender as a naughty come down cure. Lots of people walking out disgusted by the sick jokes from the DJ on Thursday night his jokes about dead babies etc are not funny plus all the swearing, his excuse was that he was drunk but he's always horrible. He seems to have a big chip on his shoulder about life in general and uses being a DJ to be able to vent his anger to the public. Educated students do not want to listen to this idiot.

My friend and I called in The Font with the intentions of visiting at a later date with a large group of friends. Luckily it wasn't very busy and the service was fast for drinks and a tasty meal however all was fine until my male friend visited the men's toilets. They smelt so disgustingly we virtually left the bar immediately. Unfortunately we definitely WON'T be returning or recommending to our friends.

While I was at Uni for 3 years this place never let me down on food. Great tasting food and good prices.I recommend the chilli con carne you get a massive portion real value for money, every friend I have had eat there no one has ever been disappointed.It's definatively worth a visit if you are the Cathedral or by University of Liverpool.

I frequently visit the font as it is convenient and has a great atmosphere. There are games to play such as Mario kart and a really student friendly bar. The food is great, the menu has a lot of variety and you can always count on having a nice meal. Price wise it is so cheap you can hardly believe it. Always packed with people and great for cocktails. I enjoy visiting and will continue to.

Ótimo Pub pra ir com amigos, tem várias tvs o que é excelente em dia de jogos, e tb vários vídeo games espalhados. O cardápio é bem grande com várias opções de comidas e bebidas e geralmente as coisas são bem gostosas, só achei o preço dos sanduíches um pouco caros mas pelo local vale a pena. Recomendo conhecer.

Went as a group of 6 for dinner and a cocktail and I can't believe I've never been before! The quantity of food for the price was outstanding and the atmosphere was great. The cocktail was very strong, but well made. Clean with friendly staff. I would definitely recommend for a place to hang out with friends or for the bar before a night out.

It's popular with students and deservedly earns itself a loyal customer base every semester. The food is of consistent good standards, good value and portion size - aimed at hungry students. As a real ale drinker, the beer selection could be better, but it could also be a lot worse! On the whole, the staff have always been very good; one girl working there around Oct 2015 seemed to cop an attitude when I asked for a couple of cocktails, because I guess she didn't want to go to the effort... but that isn't a slight on the management, as I've said, most of the staff seem to like being and working there.So, decent cocktails menu too at affordable prices.I wish they would update Mario Kart to the Wii U version, although I admit it might be difficult with the Wii U's controller options from a security/theft point of view... Overall, a friendly and relaxed place to chill-out, nosh-out and watch Sky TV games.

The font does serve pub grub style food but on this visit it was drinks only for us.Place was clean, staff were efficient but friendly.We got served quickly and enjoyed our drinks.Wasn't too busy but I can imagine there to be a great atmosphere when it's busy.

I was in the library thinking to myself how hungry I was when I decided that The Font do have some wonderful , quite delightful burgers. Me and my companion mutually agreed to ramble towards the establishment and we entered gazing upon its emptiness. This was no issue as we quickly approached the bar and ordered a beer and a burger. Morale of the story , beers terrible (always seems flat and watered down) , foods good!

Great student bar, relaxed mood and great atmosphere

Been to the Font a few times as I'm a student at the University of Liverpool. I've never had a bad experience there, there's always a good range of beers on, suiting all budgets and from a few different breweries. Always seems to be a decent atmosphere, whatever the the time of day. Apparently if you get the font card this brings the price down off some bottles etc. to even cheaper. Food is cheap and alright if you just want something to fill you up with a few drinks but it's nothing fantastic.

Although obviously aimed at the student market, The Font is still welcoming to the slightly older customer such as myself. The pub has a chilled atmosphere and friendly staff, and although I probably wouldn't want to spend a whole night there, it's a great place to go for a relaxing drink for an hour or two. It's a particularly good place to go to watch football due to the laid back student crowd and absence of idiots. The drink prices are not exactly high, but probably not as cheap as you'd expect in a student bar. They do often have various offers and promotions though.I've never eaten here although the food looks good and is reasonably priced. By all accounts the food service can be a little slow, so allow plenty of time.All in all, not a bad place at all.

Often, I come here to The Font in between lectures either for food or for a few drinks. Often on weekends, we spend an afternoon here and have a few pints and some curly fries which are top class. Especially on a weekend, this place generates an atmosphere that is hard to replicate in any other pub in the city.

Amazing atmosphere, friendly staff and the best burgers in town. Definitely give it a shot! A*** place!
