The Albert Hotel - Lark Lane in Liverpool

Gonna start with the positive which is it's a great old school pub, the decor inside is fantastic. The location on lark lane is perfect, in fact it's probably the best pub in the area, and there is a great, and really lovely atmosphere on a Sunday evening with the open mic nights in the back room, where everyone including some really talented people gets up, and has a sing song. I would like to mention on here through, that there is a few issues I would like to raise with the place which is that on a Sunday night there are these two really strange staff on the door who are constantly walking up down for no reason, while patrons are having a drink and a few times they have even followed people into the men's loo, and watched them do their business without even saying a word, or use the toilet themselves it's really odd. Also there have often been occasions when last orders have gone at 22:45, and by 23:00 the door staff are demanding everyone leaves ten or fifteen minutes after they have brought a drink, and are shoving a plastic cup in peoples faces like they are trying to intimidate, people into leaving earlier. Guys it's a great boozer with great people especially the staff behind the bar who were absolutely fab on Christmas day. But please sort the doorman issue out, it kinda ruins the otherwise nice atmosphere. People who give you their business deserve to be treated better than that. Not to be harassed, and bullied out of a pub not long after they have brought a drink. Let people finish their drinks, and let the guys go to the toilet without being spied on by a creepy doorman. They may just be doing their job, but they are doing it very badly.

Amazing atmosphere and friendly staff

This old place has changed a lot over the years, but is still a great meeting place for the locas, who are a really friendly crowd. The staff are lovely, the real ales are good (it a CAMRA recognised place) and there's a great selection of gins. There's a beer garden at the back, and tables on the street where can people watch on picturesque Lark Lane. You'll get more sun in the front. This is one of those places where you'll get chatting to a stranger and end up spending the whole afternoon. The staff really make the place, and the prices generally beat everywhere else in the locality. Best real pub on Lark Lane, hands down.

I wondered into the Albert on a sunstroked April evening. Lucy clicked her fingers and the heavens opened above the crown of my head. I was shown all variety of treasures and horrors, all of which reminded me of the vitality of being a living vessel. Sensational afternoon in The Albert last Sunday . The place was ‘chocka’ as Liverpool played 🥔 Spuds to win the league. Compliments, to Mick and team as they all coped admirably under what I considered to be a pressure situation, with so many in the pub . Slainte . Andy

Lucy made me a drink from an absolutely insane interpretation of a stupid request of "a plum, floating in purfume, served in a man's hat" and i appreciated her effort so much, she made our night 💙

A bustling traditional pub with a good selection of beers on. Getting a table was tricky, so we stood near the bar and took the atmosphere in.

I just want to say that the staff David and Lucy and their attention to the customers is outstanding. The quality of the Guinness, being an Irish man is the best quality in Liverpool. I highly recommend to anyone visiting !!!!

We love coming to this pub. It's a real home from home. Everyone is friendly and we always come home feeling that we've had a great day. The staff are lovely, especially Lee, who goes out of his way to help. We'll be there again soon. 😊👍

Been coming here for a couple years now since living here as a student. Lucy and co have made us feel so welcome, and we have made it our regular spot to watch the footy!

What truly made the experience unforgettable, though, was David. His service was nothing short of amazing – attentive, friendly, and always with a smile. He made us feel right at home and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. If you’re looking for great service, fantastic drinks, and a welcoming vibe, the Albert Pub is the place to be, and David is definitely a big reason why. Highly recommend!

A lovely friendly pub, a real Victorian survivor. The staff are warm and welcoming, and it has really reasonably priced drinks. Nice little beer garden at the back, and seats in the street. Lots of locals, who are all great characters, and really welcome you to the area. It's a really nice Liverpool local, but also attracts a lot of tourists to the area, and a young crowd on sunny days.. Dog friendly, which is lovely. Barman Lee always has a smile on his face, and is a real credit to the place. Great to have a change from all the generic bars. Lovely old place. Take your dog, and enjoy your beer 😁

Unfriendly staff and they allow dogs into the pub and onto the seats. I dog urinated while I was there and it was left to dry into the floor. I won't be back!

Great location at the top of Lark Lane with friendly bar staff and doormen, there’s plenty of seating and The Albert has a cosy pub vibe with TVs to watch the game and various pints on Tap alongside Spirits available at the bar. No issues with The Albert

Lovely well kept pub at the top of lark lane where I go with friends regularly! Great atmosphere whatever time of day you go and lovely staff who will do anything for you. The drinks are really well priced compared to the rest of lark lane.

He sido bastante y a menudo me atienden Charlene, Tom, Lee y o Harry y son excelentes miembros de su equipo y realmente son una gratitud a su entorno de trabajo. Excelente servicio y volveré para un Guinness!

No ha sido por un tiempo, pero lo habitual La multitud estaba allí. Fue recibido por un nuevo servidor encantador llamado Darcie. Era tan educada y llena de conversación, que un soplo de aire fresco llegó a otros servidores en el carril. Explicó que no había estado allí mucho tiempo, pero no se notó. Atención al cliente en otro grado. Sin duda volveré y espero ver a Darcie de nuevo.

I head down here quite often as it is one of my favourite places on lark lane, everything is spot on from the staff to the decor to the quality and standard of the products they sell. Definitely worth popping in if you’re nearby! A big shout out to Lucy too she’s absolutely phenomenal behind the bar always makes sure the place and the people are well looked after, not had one bit of bad service from her whenever I head down!

A genuine proper pub, great selection of beers, and great service, would deffo recommend it!

Great pub on Lark Lane. Lucy and the rest of the team always offer a warm welcome. It has a great jukebox which is often played appropriately loud! Good selection of beers and a great vibe all round. Only reason for not giving five stars is that the toilets could do with some TLC. It also has a good sized beer garden with some cool murals.

My friends and I visited the Albert to have the famous pies everyone raves about on the Lane, and they were delicious. I had the fungi pie and it was cooked thoroughly and the temperature was spot on. The lovely girl who placed our order for us, Lucy was phenomenal and very helpful and quick on her toes as I could see the pub was very busy. Very alert and super welcoming After we finished our food, she came over to the table to clear our plates and actually checked in on us. Astonishing service and could not fault her by any means! Pies - amazing! Service- amazing! Atmosphere - amazing. Absolutely could not fault anything about The Albert. We will definitely be back again!!!!! 😊

Easy place to book table to watch Euros. Good atmosphere and plenty of beer. On Lark Lane which is a good area for entertainment.

Came here with a group of friend for the Wednesday quiz night staff were amazing Lucy was very friendly and helpful, really good atmosphere quiz master was funny and got a free round out of it. All in all boss little spot.

Came out for my birthday with my partner March 2023 for my birthday has a drink here always a good atmosphere even more so as the rugby was on I don’t follow it but I didn’t mind it being on everyone was in good spirits! Some drinks can seem a little pricey for pub prices but I think it’s because it Lark lane. A nice drink in a good pub.

It seems like the regulars get served first three people were served before my partner i sat and watched we do drink around larklane a lot but I have noticed locals get served first 🤷‍♀️

Absolutely huge pub in Lark Lane. Victorian interior but has been well maintained. Has a good range of beers and real ales. Has lovely comfy armchairs in the lounge.

First Guinness I've tried in here, it was excellent, not a single bubble and a nice dome with a coffee taste. 9/10

It is a great place to go for a drink and we do go quite often BUT £26 for 2 aparol spritz when we paid £15 down the road is just not on!

When I rang to confirm the booking yesterday, Lucy promised to look after us and she certainly did just that. Excellent customer service without being over attentive, even making sure there were enough of the very popular pies left for us. She’s a real asset to a fabulous pub.

Cracking little pub on Lark Lane, popped in to get some work done out of the sun and had a lovely afternoon! Quality draught, they had Vocation Heart & Soul on cask which was beautiful but I was told this also rotates quite a lot - I'll definitely be back, just a really welcoming chilled pub.

Large roomy pub on Lark Lane. It has kept its features and is very welcoming. The staff were friendly and helpful. They sell traditional pies here, which appeared to be very popular.

Awful experience! Came in for a drink with my family whilst waiting for a food reservation elsewhere. A blonde staff member with glasses kept giving us dirty looks as soon as we sat down which made us feel really uncomfortable to begin with. Then a few more family members joined us one being a 13 year old who arrived with her mum and dad. The lady with glasses stormed out and abruptly came right upto her and demanded to see her ID clearly knowing she was not 18 yet. As you can imagine my 13 year old family member was unsettled by being approached infront of all the other tables in the beer garden. She was not consuming any alcohol just soft drinks and it was 5pm so the pub was still serving food at this point. Whoever came up with the ridiculous rule of no under 18s at any point needs to seriously reconsider their job position because we have never felt so unwelcome anywhere.

The Albert is a traditional looking pub. Decent range of drinks and good location for a night out on Lark Lane.

We hired the back room at The Albert for our leaving party and we had a great time! Lucy and Mic were very helpful with booking and the general organisation of the evening. The staff were all friendly and all my friends had a wonderful evening. Cannot thank you enough!

Many years since I have been to this pub....and it is still a great traditional pub and my friend and I really enjoyed our afternoon there.
